Who's lower than Fox News? Progressive icon Wendy Davis, that's who

Geoffrey Ward, the historian who helped Ken Burns write his PBS documentaries including the recently concluded "The Roosevelts," said that if Fox News had been around during the presidency of Franklin Delano Roosevelt, the network "would have loved'  to exploit Franklin Delano Roosevelt's handicap and shown him struggling in his wheelchair.

Here's the accusation:

In other words, those nasty, cruel conservatives would go so far as to exploit a wheelchair for political purposes.

If so, then take a look at the TV ad put on by Democratic Texas state Sen. Wendy Davis that  references Democratic gubernatorial rival Greg Abbott’s partial paralysis — including the image of an empty wheelchair — to charge the Republican with hypocrisy. Take a look:

You can read about the uproar this has caused on Politico.

It's hard to match the supercilious Geoffrey Ward for his gratuitous swipe at Fox News and its mostly conservative viewers. But Wendy Davis sure comes close. Sure, you remember Wendy Davis, who filibustered for 11 hours, against a popular abortion regulation bill in the Texas legislature and became an overnight icon for those oh-so-sensative progressives who so roundly condemn conservatives for their callous and cruel nature.
