'Asian' carp name is politically incorrect

Some call it "racist"

The ugly and piggish Asian carp now is considered "offensive" because it's doing more than threatening to muscle in on the Great Lakes:

It casts people from Asia in a "negative light."

From Fox News:

Minnesota legislators consider renaming Asian carp

The troublesome fish currently known as Asian carp may get a new name in Minnesota over concern that the current one casts people from Asian cultures in a negative light.

Proposals advancing in the Legislature would require the Department of Natural Resources to refer to the fish as "invasive carp,"...

Jean Lee, executive director of the Children's Hope International Minnesota chapter that facilitates adoptions from Asia and elsewhere said the name refers  "to Asian people in terms of being invasive species. This was offensive."

Ms. Lee, we're talking about carp, not about people, for crying out loud. Take a deep breath.
