We're told that partisans (read: conservatives and Republicans) are demanding that Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius be fired for botching the Obamacare rollout.
Keep her. What better symbol is there of the failed planned, the over-the-top promises and the inherent problems of the
Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, aka Obamacare. Even if Sebelius was the sharpest of managers, completely up to speed on the problems that faced her and a whiz at information technology, the rollout would have been the bust that it has been. It is inherently unworkable.
The presumption that the "best and the brightest" can now fix it is wishful thinking.
And those with a memory about how the "best and the brightest" got us entangled in the Vietnam War, will cringe at the use of the expression. (See Carol Felsenthal, 'Best and brightest' coming to fix ObamaCare website? Uh oh.")
