Obama criticized for name-dropping Chicago sports teams

You're From Chicago. We Get It

When Players Visit the White House, Obama Seldom Misses a Chance to Name-Drop His Favorite Teams

That was the headline on a whine  from Jared Diamond in the Wall Street Journal. Said he:

[Obama]  likes the Chicago teams so much that he will take any opportunity to pledge his allegiance to them—even when he's supposed to be congratulating another team.

Of all the criticisms that I've made of Barack Obama, this isn't one of them. Jeez, how far does one have to reach? The only question from this White Sox fan is: Has he ever dropped the name of the Chicago Cubs? If he has, for shame.

Jared Diamond should stick to predicting the collapse of civilization.

  • He was just (White) hosing him.

  • I think that is another Jared Diamond, DB. One is a sports writer, the other is a UCLA Professor who theorizes over demographic trends and always reaches the same conclusions.

  • I think you're right. I take it all back. Sheesh.

  • But your conclusion is still on the money.
