Lunacy from AFSCME President Henry Bayer
Here is Pallasch Quoted in the Beachwood Reporter:
"During 11 months of bargaining, the state has extended the contract three times and made significant efforts to compromise," Quinn budget spokesman Abdon Pallasch said in a statement. "But the government employees union, which has not offered a single proposal to deal with retirement health care, continues to seek millions of dollars in pay hikes the taxpayers can't afford to give them. It has refused to recognize the extraordinary financial crisis squeezing the state."
But the Beachwood Reporters cleverly added:
See, as a former reporter, Pallasch now gets paid twice as much to tell you half the story.
Too clever by a half. Pallasch speaks the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. So help us God.
Now watch Henry (Hank) Bayer scold legislators giving themselves extra benefits, saying "they think that they're better than everyone else [meaning state employees]. Bayer obviously doesn't see the irony in playing the "they-think-they're-better-than-anyone else" card, when it's the principle upon which public employee unions operate.
The pot and the kettle.
