The most screwed up state representative race in Illinois

A great analysis by DOUG IBENDAHL about how Democratic Czar and House Speaker Michael Madigan is giving the shive to his longtime Republican ally, Incumbent Angelo “Skip” Saviano from the Northwest suburbs. People have been wondering why Madigan is running someone against Saviano, who has been a loyal supporter of Madigan's, even though Skip is a Republican (basically in name only).

One thing I'd add to Ibendahl's fine analysis. Even though Skip's district included Bensenville and other suburbs fighting O'Hare expansion, he never really was on their side. When the chips were down, he supported the expansion as dictated by the bi-partisan "combine"--John Kass' word for the unholy alliance of Democrats and Republicans.
