Chicago Tribune contributing op-ed columnist and author of forthcoming historical novel, "Madness: The War of 1812." Reporter, editor and columnist for Chicago Sun-Times and Chicago Daily News. Freelance writer and editor.
Not to mention the Tribune continuing its Blago blog with idiots posting that they know what is going on in the jury room. Apparently the theory that those voting "not guilty" would convince those leaning to "guilty" didn't work.
I'm surprised that the Allen charge wasn't given and the judge just accepted, "you can't agree, go home." However, that could have been foreseen when the judge instructed, in essence, to deliberate on the wire fraud charges, but we realize you might not come to a consensus on those, either.
