Scary earthquake stuff

Did the earthquake in Chile knock the Earth off its Axis?

I'm sitting here in Florida (I know, BFD) looking at how the tide is the highest I've ever seen it.  The water is almost up to the pier and the lines on the boats tied up at the docks have gone slack.

I'm wondering. Did the tsunami from the Chile earthquake go all the way around the globe and show itself in the Gulf of Mexico?
Hey, it might be a stupid question, but did you know that the earthquake may have knocked the earth off its axis, ever so slightly? Honest, here's a story about that and other scary stuff. For example, the earthquake may have shortened our days, ever so slightly.
But just as they say golf is a game of inches, the moving of the Earth's axis by just three inches might have a huge effect. Couldn't it?
