Why continue the search?

He's available

in the November election, sending him and the rest of the Democratic Party Leadership scrambling to find a second choice.

Again, the voters have nothing to say about it. They already have made their second choice for slating as the Democratic lieutenant governor candidate--Art Turner--but the bosses will have none of that. 
Who would want the job now? I hear that Roland Burris will be looking for a job after the next election.
