Most still oppose health care bill

This is from Rasmussen Reports:

Over the weekend, Democratic leaders spoke of an historic moment as
health care reform legislation passed the House of Representatives. But
that legislative victory failed to significantly move public opinion.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey
finds that 45% now favor the health care plan proposed by President
Obama and congressional Democrats. Most (52%) remain opposed.

Only 25% Strongly Support the plan while 42% are Strongly Opposed

Which apparently means nothing to President Obama and the Democrats, because they have decided what is best for us.

  • It only means something to a Senator on the electoral margin. Certainly not relevant to Illinois.

  • So you're in favor of polling the public before all Congressional votes? Or would you still prefer holding elections every two years?

  • In reply to JimmyGreenfield:

I'm in favor of Congress paying a slight bit of attention to public opinion when it is about to tear apart and try to rebuild a large slice of our economy and approve a $1-trillion fantasy. But in the next election, they'll find out...

  • In reply to JimmyGreenfield:

What about all those years Americans opposed the war in Iraq, but George DoubleEww kept it going? It too tore apart a large slice of the economy--you could say it helped lead to all the economic problems we've had--and was based on a fantasy.

In fact, the war costs about the same as the health care bill.
