o Unexpectedly Nancy Pelosi's House also jettisons ACORN. The Defund ACORN
Act, passed on a 345-75 procedural vote as part of an
unrelated student loan reform bill. Two Democrats voted present.
Here are the three Illinois Democratic House members who voted to keep funding ACORN: Jackson, Rush and Schakowsky. The rest of Illinois Democrats and all Republicans voted against continued funding. In the Senate, both Burris and Durbin voted to support continued funding. Hoping for the mainstream media to send out reporters to find out how all this affects Chicago's ACORN chapters. (Story is here)
o Here's how President Obama can be both for and against government health care for illegal immigrants. Just make them all legal.
o An alternative to keeping a gun in your home. I wonder if swords now will be put on the list of forbidden weapons. (Story is here.)
o The House of Representatives wants government to take over all student loans. (Story is here.)
o Washington Post column: Barack Obama's capitulation to Russian pressure to not proceed with a missile defense shield in eastern Europe "is a serious
betrayal of loyal allies in Warsaw and Prague whose governments pursued
politically unpopular positions at the request of the Bush
administration to help confront a rising threat from Iran. (Announcing
this policy change on Thursday, the 70th anniversary of the Soviet
invasion of Poland, added unnecessary insult to injury.)"
