Eleven aldermen willing to stand up to Daley?






Eleven aldermen have gone public with their challenge to
Mayor Richard M. Daley's open-ended commitment to compensate the Olympics if
the Games here in 2016 go bust.

Good for them.

Maybe this means that the Silly Council is not
prepared to roll over to Daley's cockamamie demand. Or maybe it means that the
11 know that the ordinance proposing a cap will never pass and they're only
backing it as cover, to protect them from angry constituents.

 

In any case, maybe a little more public outrage will
encourage more aldermen to do what is right.
