Meet Shani Curry St.Vil Personal Finance Expert, Purse Empowerment

What thoughtful/encouraging piece of advice would you give to your younger self?

There is more where that came from. Often, in the building stages, you can have some hardcore lessons with lack. You can feel the lack of support, financial resources, staff, and time. But, as you continue to build and meet those challenges with your ability to respond you will be gifted with more resources in every area. So, keep showing up!

If you could thank any Black woman history maker for her contributions to society, who would it be and why?

Cari Hernadez is my producer at the CBS News Miami. Because of her advocating for more diversity on the news I have the opportunity to share my wealth wisdom with a national audience. Without her advocacy, it decreases the chances of more minorities in the

What are your thoughts on taking risks? Making mistakes?

Sometimes, I am slow to take the risk. I will test the water before. I jump all in. But, for every risk that I have taken. I have been gifted with a greater reward.

As for mistakes..... I am thankful for all of the mistakes. For every time that I have been called out, it has resulted in me being called to a new level either personally or publicly.

I make mistakes all the time because I am constantly testing the water to see how I can grow. I do not put the pressure off myself to get it all right the first time. I love progression, it is in this that I am alive.

Tell us about your business and why you chose this?

I am the head Purse of Purse Empowerment. Purse Empowerment teaches women to focus more on the contents of their purse as opposed to the contents. I love talking about Money, how to share it, grow it, and use it to express your choices.

What are 3 success habits

you implement into your daily routine to maintain your success/sanity/peace of mind, etc.?

Wake up at 5 am

Meditate & Pray for 30 Min.

Say yes, only when I realllllly want to.

Who is your biggest inspiration?

The old me. Whewwwww! That girl has been through some things you hear me. If it was not for the old limited me who cried about not having enough time, talent and/or tangible resources I would never have met this version of myself that learned to manage her time, ask for help, set boundaries, rid herself of toxic relationships, raise her pricing, create more services that solved problems, and go to Thera-pppppppy! Whooo!

Define innovative techniques you apply

 to your craft?

Automation is important. I spent the ladder part of this year having my business evaluated so that I can create some better systems that will duplicate my efforts without me always being present.

What are the three most important

factors of being a successful woman?

Being intentional about who she decides to marry, how she makes her money, and how she maintains her mental health.
