I realized recently that I have more pet names for my dog than for my husband. I am trying to figure out if that is a good thing or a bad thing. I know for sure that it's really weird, but as long as our dog (Clark) responds when I call him, does it matter what pet name is used?
For my husband, I call him either Smoochie or Baby. That's it. Plain and simple. If I started calling him other pet names he probably wouldn't take out the trash when I asked.
"Who's pumpkin butt? I don't know that person. And why am I taking out their garbage?"
Or when I need him to install the air conditioning units.
"Yeah it's hot, Cor, but who the hell is Mr. Muffin Man? Look, if you are seeing someone else, than we have bigger problems than the heat."
Oh jeez, never mind. Smoochie and Baby it is.
But for Clark, well that little love face responds to whatever I call him, but here are the favorites:
- Puppy son
- Little son
- Mama's good boy
- Mama's boy
- Baby son
- Mr. Stinks
- Mr. Happy Tail
- Alligator mouth
And I know there are probably more.
Do you have more pet names for your actual pet than your partner? Clearly I do. Tell me in the comments!
