The spring break miracle

The spring break miracle

Spring break 2012: hello, horizon line.

There's something about a window seat. The ability to look out and see nothing but blue high above the clouds, dreaming of all the life you left far behind you, and the adventure that awaits at your destination...

southwest air

...only to discover your bag's pull handle got ripped off in transit and Southwest does NOT cover pull handle, zipper or wheel damage. #fml #firstworldpains :-*

But, all shenanigans considered, my anger dissipated as I drove down Ocean Avenue on a gorgeous SoCal day. The view made me feel a whole lot better about life...even with a broken suitcase. The ride was enhanced by the blasting of Yellowcard's vintage hit from our car speakers as we rolled down the highway, and this view from the top of the hills says it all:

Life can't get much better than this. God is SO good, or He would not have provided us with this natural beauty to admire and enjoy. David must have been viewing something similar when he wrote this incredible Psalm way back when:

PSALM 104

"Praise the LORD, my soul.

LORD my God, you are very great;
you are clothed with splendor and majesty.

The LORD wraps himself in light as with a garment;
he stretches out the heavens like a tent
and lays the beams of his upper chambers on their waters.
He makes the clouds his chariot
and rides on the wings of the wind.

He makes winds his messengers,
flames of fire his servants.

He set the earth on its foundations;
it can never be moved.
You covered it with the watery depths as with a garment;
the waters stood above the mountains...

How many are your works, LORD!
In wisdom you made them all;
the earth is full of your creatures.
There is the sea, vast and spacious,
teeming with creatures beyond number—
living things both large and small."
