The Ottawa Senators are in the process of finalizing a divorce with one of the central figures in their franchise over the last decade. Spezza has given Ottawa a list of teams he won’t accept a trade to, which leaves the rest of the NHL to decide how his $7M cap hit fits into their... Read more »

Chicago Blackhawks Busy Making (Minor) Moves
Since the end of the Olympics, the Blackhawks have made a series of minor moves. Derrick Rose: How I Would Break Up The Chicago Bulls

Denver receives SF Luol Deng and PG Marquis Teague
Chicago receives SF Wilson Chandler and PG Andre Miller

After the 2013-14 season, Miller has one year remaining at just over $4.6M, while Chandler has 2 more seasons under contract at roughly $6.7M and $7.1M, respectively. Miller would fill the need at point guard while Rose recovers (again), and Chandler is a younger, athletic DePaul grad who would be a nice fit on the Bulls roster. For Denver, adding Teague would give them a back-up to Ty Lawson with a significantly lower salary, and Deng would give them a strong defensive presence at the small forward. Currently, Denver is 8th in the Western Conference.
With Derrick Rose out for the rest of the year, and his future now a bold question mark, it’s time to break up the Bulls. Rose met the media on Thursday and discussed his knee, the Bulls and his future. He believes he has a lot left, but maintained that he’ll never recruit free agents... Read more »

NHL Free Agency: The Blackhawks Must Pursue Evander Kane
Reports on Saturday are that Winnipeg Jets forward Evander Kane doesn’t want to negotiate an extension with the team, and may become available this week before the 2012 NHL Draft. If that’s the case, the Chicago Blackhawks should be on the phone with an old friend to make a deal happen. Kane, who doesn’t turn... Read more »

Chicago Bulls: Quietly Frontrunners for Dwight Howard?

The NBA’s trade deadline came and went quietly in Chicago, with the Bulls almost begging the Houston Rockets to deal shooting guard Courtney Lee for a handful of draft picks. While most Bulls fans agree that this year’s team could use a better shooting guard, not overpaying for an underwhelming player is in the team’s... Read more »

The Chicago Bulls Don't Need Carmelo Anthony

I’m pretty sure the headline here speaks for itself. And I’m dead serious. Everyone in town wants Carmelo Anthony at the United Center yesterday, but the realities of the current Eastern Conference are that the Chicago Bulls do not need him to compete. Bulls fans look at Kyle Korver, Ronnie Brewer and Keith Bogans and... Chicago Blackhawks: What Will They Do About Brent Seabrook?

Chicago Blackhawks: What Will They Do About Brent Seabrook?
The list of top defensemen heading towards restricted free agency is an impressive one, but was cut by one recently when the Los Angeles Kings locked up Jack Johnson with a seven-year extension. While Johnson’s cap number wasn’t outrageous ($4.36M), the term certainly got the attention of agents for players like Chicago’s Brent Seabrook, Atlanta’s... Read more »

Yahoo! Sports is indicating that Ben Eager, currently serving a four-game suspension for sucker punching Toronto’s Colby Armstrong, could be on the way out of Atlanta.
