Heisman Trophy Power Rankings: Week Two

Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Louisville
Week Two
Passing: 22-232, 397 yds, 4 TD, 0 INT
Rushing: 1 rush, -1 yd, 0 TD
Week One
Passing: 23-28, 355 yds, 5 TD, 1 INT
Rushing: 2 rush, 1 yd, 0 TD

Against Eastern Kentucky on Saturday, Bridgewater put up more big numbers. That should be consistent this entire season, which is a double-edged sword for Bridgewater's Heisman candidacy; Louisville has a weak schedule, so while he should put up enormous numbers, the lack of a marquee victory could ultimately hurt his case.
Last week we looked at how some of the front-runners for the Heisman Trophy performed, and threw a couple sleepers into the mix. Now that we’re thru Week Two of the college football season, the sample size is larger and some of the wins (and losses) have been bigger as well. One significant name you... Read more »

THE Gordon Gee Needs To Go Away

THE Gordon Gee Needs To Go Away
You know the old cliche about the pot calling the kettle black? E. Gordon Gee, the President of the Ohio State University, reportedly questioned the integrity of a number of other institutions in December. Part of his comments: slamming Notre Dame. Because they’re Catholic. “The fathers are holy on Sunday, and they’re holy hell on... Read more »

Hockey Day In Chicago An Amazing Success

Hockey Day In Chicago An Amazing Success
Sunday may have been titled Hockey Day in America, but there was no better city in the country to celebrate the great game than Chicago. 2012 Heisman Trophy: The Defensive Tim Tebow Should Win
I know I’m going to get crap from my religious friends for using the phrase “second coming” in the next statement, but the pun is unavoidable. Manti Te’o is the second coming of Tim Tebow. Tomorrow night, Te’o will try to make his already-unbelievable mark on college football and the University of Notre Dame more... Read more »

Notre Dame National Championship Bound: Why They're Special
Everyone’s spent the last three weeks (well, the last nine if we’re honest) explaining why Notre Dame isn’t as good as their record indicates. Everyone has had a great time explaining why they’re not worthy of a national title shot. Now the Fighting Irish are undefeated and headed to the BCS Championship Game. And they... Read more »

Notre Dame Jumps to ACC

Notre Dame Jumps to ACC
In a less-than-stunning piece of breaking news on this beautiful Wednesday morning, Notre Dame announced they are going to join the ACC. Well, except for football and hockey. The Big East is falling apart and is, frankly, struggling to maintain it’s place among the second-tier conferences in the NCAA. While the Fighting Irish have not... Read more »
