2014 NFL Mock Draft: FINAL

2014 NFL Mock Draft: FINAL
There comes a time in each NFL offseason where mock drafts become redundant and annoying. That point was about a month ago. With the NFL pushing the draft back into May this year, it afforded teams enough time to lie about players they love and make up garbage about other prospects to create a cloud... Read more »

2014 NFL Mock Draft: BCS Championship 3-Round Edition

The 2013 football seasons are quickly coming to a close. This evening, Auburn and Florida State will battle in the final BCS Championship Game. There will be a lot of future NFL talent on display in the game, especially with the Seminoles. Meanwhile, the NFL’s Wild Card Weekend provided some of the best drama the... Read more »

The Minnesota Vikings Should Trade Adrian Peterson

The Minnesota Vikings Should Trade Adrian Peterson
If you watched Thursday night’s Vikings-Redskins game, you’re… a fool. While RGIII’s alma mater, Baylor, was able to run away from Adrian Peterson’s college home, Oklahoma, the roles were reversed on the NFL turf. And everyone should have been watching a dominant performance by Stanford in their upset of Oregon… for the second straight year.... Read more »

2014 NFL Draft: The Quarterback Conundrum

The Atlanta Falcons used two top-3 picks on quarterbacks: Michael Vick (1, 2001) and Matt Ryan (3, 2008). The only other team to use two top-3 picks on quarterbacks between 2001-2012 was the Detroit Lions: Joey Harrington (3, 2002) and Matthew Stafford (1, 2009).
There has been a great deal of hype following the list of quarterbacks that might be part of the 2014 NFL Draft. From Johnny Manziel to Teddy Bridgewater and Marcus Mariota, this year’s class could be one of the deepest group of quarterbacks in recent history. But that doesn’t necessarily mean teams will be hitting... Read more »

Trent Richardson Traded: The Evolution of Cleveland's Hot Mess

The Browns held the 6th overall selection in the 2011 NFL Draft, but they didn’t use the pick. In a swing-for-the-fences move by the Atlanta Falcons, the Browns received picks number 26 (first round), 59 (second round), and 124 (fourth round) in the 2011 Draft plus the Falcons’ first and fourth round picks in the 2012 Draft for the 6th overall selection.

With the 6th overall selection, the Falcons took now-All Pro wide receiver Julio Jones from Alabama.

Cleveland did not keep the 26th overall pick they received from the Falcons, though. They traded the pick - receiver Jon Baldwin from Pitt - and a third round pick (#70 overall) to Kansas City for the 21st overall pick, DT Phil Taylor from Baylor.

In the first 22 games of his NFL career, Jones has 2,415 receiving yards and 20 touchdowns.
On Wednesday afternoon, the Cleveland Browns traded running back Trent Richardson to the Indianapolis Colts for Indy’s first round pick on the 2014 Draft. There has been a lot of reaction to the deal from every angle. For my money, the best case that has been for either side was presented in a debate between... Read more »

2013 NFL Mock Draft: Pre-Combine Edition

1. Kansas City Chiefs - Luke Joeckel, OT, Texas A&M
The Chiefs' new coach, Andy Reid, will want to build an offense, but their front office will have a tough decision this summer. Both WR Dwayne Bowe and OT Branden Albert need a new contract, and the team can only franchise one of them. If they cannot pay Albert, replacing him with the top tackle in the draft makes sense.
It has been just over two weeks since our last mock draft, and there have been a number of developments that will impact the first round of the upcoming draft. For prospects, the news leading up to this week’s NFL Combine in Indianapolis has been mixed. Georgia’s inside linebacker Alec Ogletree, who I have had... Read more »

Chicago Bears GM Jerry Angelo: It's Worse Than You Thought

Chicago Bears GM Jerry Angelo: It's Worse Than You Thought
Jerry Angelo is an idiot. He’s clueless, probably has never balanced a checkbook, and probably thinks chickens created lightning. Those are some of the public perceptions following the general manager of the Chicago Bears around these days. And, truthfully, they aren’t that far off. In fact, his bio on the Bears website is so full... Read more »

Gabe Carimi: Why Chicago Bears Fans Should Be Thrilled

Gabe Carimi: Why Chicago Bears Fans Should Be Thrilled
A few years back, Bears fans were pretty excited about Chris Williams being the team’s first round draft pick. Injuries have bounced him around the lineup, and he may have settled in as a guard finally. So when the Bears selected another tackle, Wisconsin’s Game Carimi, in the 2011 Draft, some fans were skeptical; looking back... Read more »

Bears' Jay Cutler Trade Was a Favor to Blackhawks Fans

Last year, the Chicago Bears mortgaged the first round of two consecutive NFL Drafts to bring in a young, big-armed quarterback to lead their franchise for the next decade. As the 2010 NFL Draft approaches, it is now clear why the Bears paid so much for Jay Cutler. The Bears were doing their fans,... Read more »
