Today: Most Exciting Day In Chicago Sports History?

Today: Most Exciting Day In Chicago Sports History?
Monday wasn’t a great day for Chicago sports fans. Doug Buffone, a Chicago Bears icon who was one of the more popular sports personalities in this town over the last 40+ years, passed away. Less than two weeks away from Chicago hosting the NFL Draft, this was a somber note across every channel of sports... Read more »

1 Night, 2 Stars Injured: Patrick Kane & Derrick Rose Out
A little more than seven minutes into Tuesday night’s Blackhawks game, Patrick Kane was shoved awkwardly into the boards. He was slow to get up, and when he did rise he was holding his left arm. The league’s leading point producer went straight to the dressing room and did not return to the game. As... Read more »

Derrick Rose: How I Would Break Up The Chicago Bulls

Denver receives SF Luol Deng and PG Marquis Teague
Chicago receives SF Wilson Chandler and PG Andre Miller

After the 2013-14 season, Miller has one year remaining at just over $4.6M, while Chandler has 2 more seasons under contract at roughly $6.7M and $7.1M, respectively. Miller would fill the need at point guard while Rose recovers (again), and Chandler is a younger, athletic DePaul grad who would be a nice fit on the Bulls roster. For Denver, adding Teague would give them a back-up to Ty Lawson with a significantly lower salary, and Deng would give them a strong defensive presence at the small forward. Currently, Denver is 8th in the Western Conference.
With Derrick Rose out for the rest of the year, and his future now a bold question mark, it’s time to break up the Bulls. Rose met the media on Thursday and discussed his knee, the Bulls and his future. He believes he has a lot left, but maintained that he’ll never recruit free agents... Read more »

Why The NBA Playoffs Suck

Why The NBA Playoffs Suck
The NBA playoffs are in full swing, if you want to call it that. And haven’t they been great! And no, my cynicism isn’t completely rooted in Derrick Rose being done for the year. Look around the first games of this year’s playoffs. What have we seen? Here are the scores from this weekend. Bulls 103... Read more »

Chicago Bulls Are Chasing The Wrong Former Piston

Chicago Bulls Are Chasing The Wrong Former Piston
Reports are that the Chicago Bulls will aggressively pursue former Detroit shooting guard Rip Hamilton in free agency. Unfortunately, he’s the wrong former Pistons guard. When the New York Knicks agreed to a three-team deal to acquire one-time Bulls center Tyson Chandler in a sign-and-trade with the Mavericks, they needed cap room to fit him.... Read more »

Why The NBA Is Stupid, And Nobody Cares About Their Lockout

Why The NBA Is Stupid, And Nobody Cares About Their Lockout
On Monday evening, while most of Chicago was watching the rebirth of the Detroit Lions, the NBA cancelled the first two weeks of the 2011-12 season. What does this mean to Bulls fans? The NBA has already removed the first two weeks from team calendars online. If the NBA doesn’t cancel any other games, the... Read more »

Derrick Rose Holding Court Tuesday Afternoon
On Tuesday, Sept. 27, reigning NBA Most Valuable Player Derrick Rose will return to the basketball courts where he learned to play basketball.
