Chicago Bears: The Josh McCown Myth
Now that the NFL season has ended, everyone in Chicago has started the annual rite of passage – praising the back-up quarterback and throwing away the starter. This year, Jay Cutler missed significant time with a couple injuries, opening the door for Josh McCown to look good enough that many fans have gone as far... Read more »

Derrick Rose: How I Would Break Up The Chicago Bulls

Denver receives SF Luol Deng and PG Marquis Teague
Chicago receives SF Wilson Chandler and PG Andre Miller

After the 2013-14 season, Miller has one year remaining at just over $4.6M, while Chandler has 2 more seasons under contract at roughly $6.7M and $7.1M, respectively. Miller would fill the need at point guard while Rose recovers (again), and Chandler is a younger, athletic DePaul grad who would be a nice fit on the Bulls roster. For Denver, adding Teague would give them a back-up to Ty Lawson with a significantly lower salary, and Deng would give them a strong defensive presence at the small forward. Currently, Denver is 8th in the Western Conference.
With Derrick Rose out for the rest of the year, and his future now a bold question mark, it’s time to break up the Bulls. Rose met the media on Thursday and discussed his knee, the Bulls and his future. He believes he has a lot left, but maintained that he’ll never recruit free agents... Read more »

2014 NFL Mock Draft: Week 11 Two-Round Edition

1. Jacksonville Jaguars - Marcus Mariota, QB, Oregon
6-4, 211
Jacksonville is still the worst team in the NFL (shocking, I know), and a sudden win streak by Tampa has them in the driver's seat for the top overall pick. They still need a quarterback, and there are a few that will tempt them in this year's class. Even with a loss on his resume at Oregon, we like Mariota to run past Teddy Bridgewater as the top signal caller in the 2014 Draft.
It’s been two weeks since our last 2014 Mock Draft, and things have changed some over those 14 days. Tampa Bay has won two games, the Jaguars won once, and the Falcons and Texans have continued to look lost. Quarterbacks all over the NFL continue to make for a potentially fascinating offseason around the league.... Read more »
