Chicago Blackhawks Busy Making (Minor) Moves

Chicago Blackhawks Busy Making (Minor) Moves
Since the end of the Olympics, the Blackhawks have made a series of minor moves. After losing defenseman Mike Kostka to Tampa Bay via waivers, the organization also lost AHL defenseman Viktor Svedberg to season-ending shoulder surgery. With Svedberg out, the Hawks traded forward Brad Winchester to Minnesota for AHL defenseman Brian Connelly. NBA Nickname Jersey Recommendations for the Chicago Bulls

Tonight, the Brooklyn Nets and Miami Heat will wear jerseys with nicknames on them. Why? Because the NBA is desperate for a gimmick, and this is their latest. The idea sucks, but why not envision what the Chicago Bulls could put on jerseys for some of their players. Here are a few suggestions.

Derrick Rose: How I Would Break Up The Chicago Bulls

Denver receives SF Luol Deng and PG Marquis Teague
Chicago receives SF Wilson Chandler and PG Andre Miller

After the 2013-14 season, Miller has one year remaining at just over $4.6M, while Chandler has 2 more seasons under contract at roughly $6.7M and $7.1M, respectively. Miller would fill the need at point guard while Rose recovers (again), and Chandler is a younger, athletic DePaul grad who would be a nice fit on the Bulls roster. For Denver, adding Teague would give them a back-up to Ty Lawson with a significantly lower salary, and Deng would give them a strong defensive presence at the small forward. Currently, Denver is 8th in the Western Conference.
With Derrick Rose out for the rest of the year, and his future now a bold question mark, it’s time to break up the Bulls. Rose met the media on Thursday and discussed his knee, the Bulls and his future. He believes he has a lot left, but maintained that he’ll never recruit free agents... Read more »

2014 NFL Mock Draft: Week 3 Edition

1. Jacksonville Jaguars - Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Louisville

With Cleveland stunning Minnesota on Sunday, the path is clear for Jacksonville to get their hands on the number one pick. They have issues all over their roster, but taking a franchise quarterback is their biggest need; Blaine Gabbert isn't working out, and they're struggling to fill seats. Bridgewater would be a guy that sells tickets and, hopefully, wins games at some point.
With only one game left on the Week Three schedule, the NFL has already thrown fans enough curveballs to have many shaking their heads. Some of the teams that are currently under .500 were supposed to challenge for division titles, and a few winless teams have been shockingly inept. Fans in New York – Giants... Read more »
