This weekend, the puck was supposed to drop on the 2012-13 NHL regular season.
But it won't.
The league has locked the players out, and they continue to show very little signs of progress. Meanwhile, players continue to sign with teams in Europe and Russia.
With that in mind, here's a video that's worth a few minutes of your time. It's an interview from during the 1994-95 lockout. The featured guest is Brendan Shanahan, who was a Hall of Fame player at that time... and now works in the same group of offices as Commissioner Gary Bettman.
Maybe it's worth a few minutes for Shanahan to watch his own words from almost 20 years ago, and do so with his boss.
