Brandon Saad Signs with Chicago Blackhawks

The Chicago Blackhawks agreed to terms on Tuesday afternoon with 2011 second round draft pick Brandon Saad.

UPDATE: His NHL cap number for the deal is reportedly $795k.

Saad will begin the season skating with Jonathan Toews and Patrick Sharp on the Blackhawks top line. The 18-year-old Pittsburgh area native will at least skate the beginning o the year with the Hawks, and coach Joel Quenneville left the door open to a longer stay if he earns it when Viktor Stalberg returns.

Also moving on Tuesday, Jeremy Morin was assigned to Rockford and Stalberg was placed on IR. Off the ice, GM Stan Bowman also signed a three-year extension with the team on Tuesday morning.
