Major Sports Collectors Convention Headed to Rosemont

From Thursday, Aug. 4 through Sunday, Aug. 7, the 32nd National Sports Collectors Convention comes to the Chicago area.

Chicago Hall of Famers scheduled to appear include Gale Sayers of the Bears, Pierre Pilote of the Blackhawks, Luis Aparicio and Billy Pierce of the White Sox and Goose Gossage of the Cubs. Active players from Chicago, including Kerry Wood, Starlin Castro and Matt Garza of the Cubs, White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen and Antti Niemi of the 2010 Stanley Cup Champion Blackhawks are scheduled to attend as well.

Some other Chicago favorites from the past, such as former Cubs Don Kessinger, Lee Smith and Gary Matthews, Sr, White Sox Harold Baines and Robbie Alomar, Bulls Artis Gilmore and Orlando Woolridge and Bears Bobby Douglass. Steve Stone, color commentator for the White Sox and formerly of the Cubs, is also scheduled to attend.
