Anyone watching the Bears this year knows they've had a number of breaks go their way. From Calvin Johnson's "no catch" during the home opener to Brett Favre's "comeback" on Monday night, the Bears have been... well, lucky.
They might have had another stroke of luck go their way.
According to the New York Daily News late on Wednesday night, NY Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez has a slight tear in the cartilage of his right (throwing) shoulder. He reportedly suffered the injury in the first quarter of Sunday's game against Pittsburgh.
Jets coach Rex Ryan confirmed that Sanchez underwent a precautionary MRI on the shoulder Monday, but added that he's "99 percent sure" Sanchez would start when the Jets play the Bears on Sunday.
A win for the Bears on Sunday could help the Bears lock-down a playoff bye and the second seed in the NFC.
