  • First! to say that I can actually hear the audio for once. You must have gone to a different player Jeff.

  • Are all 2nd brothers mildly tarded?

  • HEY!!! Watch it... punk!

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Shannon, Eli, MB...you just proved my point.

Your older Bro probably invented internet porn.

    Bwhahaha!~

  • hahahaha... it's internet prono (right shady?)

  • Not in my family. The middle brother went to the Naval Academy and was my personal hero. Now the youngest brother (me) had some serious issues when it came to authority figures. Not sure that adds up to being a mental defective.

  • btw, it's like shannon sharp's tongue is too big for his mouth. Classic.

Don't take that shit from the young whippersnapper!!

  • Jeff... why is the rev going to malawi?

  • He's a Fullbright Scholar. Going there to work with them on all kinds of stuff.

  • In reply to Jeff Hughes:

wow, impressive. Well done reverend (he's your brother right?)

I'll be in SA (Cape Town) either 1st two weeks of Nov or Jan. If he wants to take a break from his scholarly pursuits and do some partying with a 'local' you have my deets to give him.

He's going to need to gtf out of that place and back into some semblance of a modern society at some point.

    Nice interview btw.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Not my brother, no. Just a friend.

  • In reply to Jeff Hughes:

It's going to be really humid there.

  • When you guys were talking about cancer awareness in the last thread it made me think of Lance/Livestrong. That charity was about awareness too. Basically it was Lance's slush fund. He used it to pay all his expenses while he ran around giving expensive speeches and charging outrageous fees to ride with him. Up here you could go for a ride with him for $25,000. Uh, no thanks. I was always shocked that smart people were being sucked in by this bullshit. I mean, seriously, who isn't aware of cancer in this day and age? Major scam.

  • In reply to CanadaBear:

Sounding very polished Jeff. "That's Good."

  • Good shit blogfader.

  • "The Bears have struggled against the run"

    Bull. Fucking. Shit. Jeff.

    Only Reggie Bush.

The rest of the league (including half our time with AP) has been 3.1 yards per carry. I'll take that All. Fucking. Season. Long.

  • In reply to SC Dave:

That's what I was thinking. And Reggie had a career day. Doesn't seem like its been a problem outside of that.

  • In reply to Johnnywad:

reggie B from the 619 bitches.

    Fuck that house accepting punk.

I didn't know until this year that Arian Foster went to Mission Bay High... my alma mater's main rival. Hated those punks. They were piss yellow and black. Yuck.

  • In reply to SC Dave:

Right on Dave. I was going to post the same thing.

  • DaBearsBlog @dabearsblog
Everything I read about Trest makes me like him more. May disagree w/ his decisions in future but never his approach. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000259546/article/marc-trestman-chicago-bears-hope-different-approach-pays-off

Awesome. Hope he's around for a long time.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Trestman's gonna whip it fo sho!

  • Per NFL network...

Eli Manning, 0-5, has been sacked 15 times this year.

    As has 4-1, Russell Wilson.

3-2 , Ryan Tanneyhill, has been sacked 24 times.

    Interesting?

    Puzzling?

    Surprising, for sure.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

the pressures have done Eli in, not the sacks. I've watched several Giants games and if we don't get pressure they will be the old Giants and we'll have a game on our hands. If we get some pressure they will be much easier to deal with.

3 or 4 of his picks have also come at the end of the half on a hail mary, the end of the game when down 30 on a bomb etc. They are having a tough year but they can still win football games.

Offensively we need to start fast and attack Trumaine McBride and their LB's in the pass game. Gotta get Forte touches early on the ground or with short designed passes. Marshall should be involved early to ensure success.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

Well done Al. You're worried about a loss tonight aren't you? I just don't see it. I think this is going to be one of those games where the Bears pound the Giants and the "experts" spend the whole of the next 9 days repeating that it doesn't mean anything because the Giants are awful. "Sure they're 4-2, but they were supposed to beat this team." Guess we'll see.

  • In reply to Johnnywad:

The Bears will "burn down the house tonight". He he.

Have you ever seen their concert film "Stop Making Sense"? It's endlessly entertaining.

  • In reply to CanadaBear:

I haven't seen it. I used to love that band.

    Here's the entire concert. Enjoy!

Just to get you in the mood for rocking, here's Buddy Guy and Carlos Santana doing the Screaming Jay Hawkins classic "I Put a Spell on You". Awesome!

Santana is tops no doubt but this beauty says it better.

I thought it might be Nina Simone. Unfortunately the content is blocked in Canada for some reason. That happens more than you would think. Damn!

  • In reply to Johnnywad:

I worry the Giants will find the Bears DT situation as an invitation to find their MIA running game.

I ALWAYS worry about the Chicago Bears!"

I am on the fence about this version of the beloved. Defensively, they scare me. While I love the ball hawking attributes of the team as much as any fan, hoping for a turnover to stop a drive does not inspire confidence. Giving up 26 to the Saints is "meh". Not great, not awful.
    Special Teams - blah.
Cutler - lot of junk yards down 2 scores, but statistically a good season.
Offensive Line - So much better. Future is bright, but why aren't we scoring more? Theory was fix o-line and we'll win more games. So far we're wobbly on that. Again, not good, not bad.
Forte- key drops and mishandling of the ball to start the game.

Anyways my point is for every positive that shines, there seems to be a negative that dulls the shine.

Feeling very 8-8. But then I think about it and say getting through the first 6 games at 4-2, with 1 game in the next 25 days (Thursday game, Skins, bye week, Monday Night Game) would be a very good situation.

If Trestman uses this time positively, it can be practically a training camp. If the Bears can beat the Skins (will not be easy, they are getting much better), sitting at 5-2 heading into GB would be way better than the puffed up 6-1 record from a year ago. This team should get better.

  • In reply to Big Mike:

    1. holding the ain'ts to 26 after what our O gave them was super impressive to me mike. I was fearing a 40+ game... I was very pleasantly surprised... if the O hadn't given them stupid field position, it would have been even fewer points (and maybe we could have won)

    2. Why aren't we scoring more? Because it's a brand new everything and we've only played 5 games. I honestly believe that the longer all the boys and trest get in the system playing together the scarier our O is going to get. We've seen it in spurts, so once we clean it all up and start hitting on all cylinders I think the O will be a machine.

    3. I'm feeling 9-7 worst.... we're going to get better and better as the year goes on. Honestly, I just want to beat the packers twice and have a + .500 season and I will consider it a winning first campaign

  • In reply to MB30SD:

That is an absolutely pathetic point of view. What's wrong with you mate? You used to be so .. so.. so.. Well you know!

  • In reply to TracDaddy:

Any given Sunday. Just being realistic without any marketing shine boet.

I think we def can be a 10-12 win team, I just haven't seen anything in the consistency column that makes me confident in anything beyond 9 wins.

Could the boys start settling in and get there coming out of the bye.... absolutely. But I ain't bettin my babies college fund on anything just yet.

  • Thanks for posting this, I tried listening via my TuneIn radio app on my phone and it wouldn't work. Not to mention it was a b*tch to find the station, but these could be my own problems. Thanks again!

  • In reply to Perno:

Easy with the foul language bro.

  • The G-Men have given up to punt returns for TD's. Hoping Devin takes one to the house. ST's stopped Sproles dead last week. This should be a plus for us this week.

What happened to our old pal Irish? Haven't seen him for about a week.

  • In reply to CanadaBear:

Naw, only been a couple days Canada... but maybe the tall whites took him home?

  • In reply to MB30SD:

My old-timers disease must have kicked in. Thought it was longer. I disagree with him almost all the time but I'm really glad he stops by.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Yes, he's definitely conspicous by his absence. I wonder if he has any info on what the Tall Whites' women look like? I'm betting their breasts are real...

  • I took the Bears - 7 1/2 tonight.

My vegas fund needs replenishment after the last two weedends of some remarkably bad decisions.

  • In reply to Viva:

I don't bet but I would NEVER be comfortably betting on the Bears. If you lose the game and the dough then you get a double zinger. Don't do it man! At least if they win by 1 you can enjoy the win.

  • In reply to TracDaddy:

That is an absolutely pathetic point of view. What's wrong with you mate? You used to be so .. so.. so.. Well you know!

  • Who do I roll with on my FF team?

    Jordy Nelson
    Marshall
    Jeffrey
    Cruz

I'm thinking it's a toss up between Jeffrey or Marshall. I just don't see both of them having monster games.

  • In reply to TracDaddy:

Marshall will go off. Because of his whining, Cutler will force it to him. I expect him to have a monster game.

Cruz will also have a big game. Maybe even Antonio Brown big.

  • In reply to TracDaddy:

I for one believe that you will see an offense tonight closer to the Saints than the Bears of last week. Trestman and the coaching staff have seen first hand what a quick, rhythmic passing attack to your weapons can do to a defense. They will look to duplicate that attack tonight.

  • Food for thought boys. If the G-men win tonight then they are only 2 games out of first. This is their season tonight and Hicks gets traded if the Bears win.

  • Pringles getting deep into his African diamond side business: http://www.tmz.com/2013/10/10/major-wright-diamond-lawsuit-stolen-loan/

Must win tonight fellas. I don't care how, but we must get it done. Pep needs to step up and play angry and hopefully minter proves he's capable in the middle.

  • In reply to Crown:

    holy fucking shit.

Oh, and know the scariest/most hilarious part of that whole story?

    "NFL star Major Wright"

    BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAhahahaha!

  • For those who are late to the party.

    http://profootballnetworks.com/2013/10/08/giants-at-bears-how-low-can-you-go/

Usually I'm homer-ish on my preview, but sometimes I get these nagging feelings.

For instance, that Steelers game was a lot closer than many expected. The Bears have a bad habit of not just starting off slow, but turning it over early. If that remains true, expect a similarly close game.

The Giants on top of all their other terribleness suck at specials and turnover differential.

If the Bears can get their specials and turnover machine up and going, this game could become a blow-out early. Hopefully the latter unfolds.

    mmmmBears....
