Opening Round Draft Thread & Tee Shirt Contest

Opening Round Draft Thread & Tee Shirt Contest

We've got four tee shirts remaining from our illustrious and well-selling 2012 collection. The shirt, which outsold our other shirts combined by a factor of 100, is seen both above and below.

We're giving all four of the remaining shirts away. All you have to do is guess the Bears first round selection below. If more than four people guess the first round selection correct (nobody guessed last year's) we'll carry those people into the second round and so on.

Your selection must be listed in its own comment. Don't bury it in the body of some long-winded commentary about DJ Fluker. Here is an example of what your selection should look like:

1st Round Pick: Manti T'eo

I will not be providing post updates throughout the night. I will write about the selection once the selection is made. To follow my commentary throughout the first round of the draft, get over your fears and follow me on Twitter by CLICKING HERE.

Who is my guess for tonight's selection? The guy below:

  • 1st Round Pick: Alec Ogletree

    1st Round Pick: Alec Ogletree

  • In reply to Tyler Gross:

sorry, i can't get behind a guy who's highlight film consists of tackles 8 yards down the field.

  • You will if Phil Emery does.

  • I would hope that the Bears can see that Te'o is a true LB and Ogletree is an "athlete".

Ogletree is a safety that was too slow and got moved to linebacker. I'd like to see Ogletree at Strong Safety.

  • meaning he's too slow for FS to could be a stud SS.

  • Why do ppl keep forgeting we got a stud SS with Hardin?

  • DON'T!

  • In reply to MB30SD:

  • 1st Round Pick: DJ Fluker

  • And the draft starts Thursday (tomorrow), not Wednesday (tonight).

  • 1st Round Pick: Datone Jones

  • 1st Round Pick: Jamar Taylor

  • Not draft related but about that other football. Too bad they don't all play his way...

Of course, most players are not half as good as he.

  • 1st Round Pick: Zach Ertz

  • In reply to NewBearInTown:

If anyone is curious, this is assumes they successfully trade down with a team like San Fran or Baltimore and pick him at the tail end of the round.

  • In reply to NewBearInTown:

Saw one mock w/ trades that had the Bears trading down and landing Eifert. So same idea. Personally I'd prefer Eifert. Not sure Ertz offers much more than some of the other TE available in later rounds. We could really use a few extra picks.

  • In reply to NewBearInTown:

  • It's Draft day! Well, it IS in Newfounland.

  • 1st round pick: D.J. Hayden

  • 1st Round Pick: Trade out of 1st round all together.

  • who are all these new guys and why don't they post any other time of the year?

stop being pussies and jump in the fracas.

  • I don't think they are new guys. I think they are regulars posting under different names.

  • i don't think we have dbags like that on here. Bears Regs wouldn't cheat to win. That's what Lions do.

  • Double Dipping?

  • 1st Round Pick : Justin Pugh

  • don't steal my pick, you know you didn't think of it.

  • 2nd rd pick: Margus Hunt

    Fucking nordic viking warrior incarnate

  • I would have liked that mang ... damn giants.

  • 1st Round Pick : Ogletree

  • In reply to BAM46Blitz:

But NOT with the 20th pick. They trade back and still get Ogletree and pick up a 3rd.

  • 1st Round Pick : Ertz

  • fb_avatar

    1st round pick: Barret Jones

  • In reply to Mghtymth27:

    You're high.

  • 1st round pick - Sheldon Richardson

    1st Round Pick: Manti T'eo

  • Free shit really changes the demographic around here.

  • In reply to Johnnywad:

Oughta be the T-shirt saying on the back

  • In reply to gpldan:

  • Thirded.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

  • Xavier Rhodes

  • 1st round-Ogletree

  • Bjoern Werner

  • In reply to SC Dave:

Not sure I actually believe this, but if we pick him at least I'll get a shirt. I still want:

  • Tyler Eifert

  • 1st Round - Alec Ogletree

  • In reply to FQD1911:

    What is up my brother?

Where the hell have you been!?

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Changing the gravitational constant of the universe, perhaps?

  • First rd pick; Mantei T'eo

  • Unfortunately it seems like the Beloved won't even get a sniff of the top 5 OL (3 LT's and 2 G's) unless they jump up a lot. If they had a chance to get the last of the top 5 by trading their 4th rdr, I'd do that in a heartbeat.

  • In reply to CanadaBear:

If Emery was ballsy he'd give up the 2nd pick to move up to Top 10 and round out the OL with a complete manstud. Then we win the fucking superbowl.

Pull a fucking Falcons type draft move. We don't need a Johnny Knox type with the talent we already have. We need a rookie Tackle that has the talent be around for 10 yrs.

We don't need to draft a 3rd string QB, 4th string CB/backup Nickel this year , etc. We need top quality OL that can play this year and then re-sign Okoye and Izzy and draft a backup OL in the 4th. Bang Bang. Done. Super Bowl at my 25-1 bet.

  • I think this is the right draft to do it, because so many teams want to move lowers the asking price.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

It's time to be bold not time to be huge pussies or try to outsmart the world. Just get a dude that will put foot to ass from day one.

  • I am 100fucking% on board with this.

    Let's get some!

  • 1st round pick: Leon Sandcastle

  • In reply to Shady:

    Well played, sir, well played.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

Jackmerius Tacktheratrix would have been my next choice, but he'll probably slide into round 2.

  • In reply to Shady:

1st Round: J'Dinkalage Morgoone, University of South... Fleerda.

Or, Xmus Jaxon Flaxon-Waxon, California University... of Pennsylvania.

  • In reply to Shady:

You weren't far off Shady .....

  • Organizationally, I think Da Club would be best suited to trade out of the 2013 1st round to a club for their 2014 1st rounder. Two first round picks next year is enough motivation for Cutler to produce this year, and insurance if he doesn't produce or demands too much when his contract is up.

  • In reply to Viva:

nonsense sir. There will be no trading out of the first round. Look what Cutty did with absolute dogshit around him for years. Dogshit, WR's, dogshit OL, dogshit offensive coaching, dogshit scheme.....

Just take the last step with the OL in the first round Emery and we fucking win this year.

  • and by dogshit WR's I mean a roster full of number 3 and 4's.

In less than 2 drafts and FA periods Emery will have fixed the majority of Angelo's fuckups....and with enough time left on the D's window of opportunity.

The sad reality is that no first year Bears' coach has even had a winning record, let alone sniff the playoffs. 8-8, 10-6, 15-1 was da coach's record.

With that said accumulating picks for 2014 could be the plan. ughh!

  • In reply to Big Mike:

Which new Bears coach has inherited a 10 win team with a franchise QB?

This is definitely not typical "new coach" year.

  • The problem is that the top 3 LTs will be gone by 6, so we'd most likely have to trade to 4 before the Lions to get a "project" LT in Johnson. That's way too risky.

So, are we willing to trade up 10 spots for an OG in Cooper or Warmack? I'm not sure any GM in the history of the draft has ever traded up 10 + spots for an OG.

Fluker is strictly a RT, and may very well fall to us at 20 because speed rushers run right around him, so no need for that.

I'm normally all for trading up, but this year someone would really have to fall and get within striking distance for me to get excited about it.

  • Not a speck more dog shit in either Earl Bennett nor Greg Olson than the guy throwing them the ball.

  • 1st Round Pick: None

XXL on the tee shirt size.

  • 1st Rnd: Heywood Jablomi

  • In reply to gpldan:

The man does have crazy skills.

  • 1st: Round Pick: Manti Te'o

  • Barry wins over Golden Joe.,0,4786379.story

  • Bears trade Eagles their 1st rounder in exchange for a 2nd and ? so the Eagles can then draft a QB and OL. Bears then draft Matt Elam and Justin Pugh. Of course this is wishful thinking and my official guess. But I still have the sneaking suspiscion we'll get QB

  • 1st round pick: Arthur Brown

  • On a trade down (hopefully a double trade down) like I predicted yesterday.

  • We might get him in the second now.

  • Helllssss Mothafuckin yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. I know what today is. Had to stop by and say with the first round pick Da Bears select MANTI TEO

  • In reply to Fresno,Ca Bear Fan:

ha! Fres, you sumbitch. It's draft day motherfucker! Shiny new rookie toys to keep up occupied while baseball tries to take all of the athletic momentum out of our lives.

I'm taking out a 50K 2nd mortgage on my house and will put it down on the Bears at 33-1 at some English betting house that DYL told us about. That's 1.25Mil the easy way.

  • 1st Round Pick: Cornellius "TANK" Carradine

  • In reply to Who is Willie Gault:

We need another Tank... I'm still upset about Tank Johnson.

  • In reply to Who is Willie Gault:

  • I'll have a live chat up on my site. Come hang out if you want.

Final NFP mock has us with Fluker. I could get on board with that. They are fucking delusional about picks 1-19 though and especially 1-10.

  • even though I did 225lbs 11 times as a 205lb safety. he did it 19 times? That feels weird to me. maybe he's got weird country strength and can rip a phone book in half or some shit.

But i digress. I'm pumped for tonight. Draft party at my house come over at about 7pm. Wings, Beers and Wings.

  • lol, i was just corrected by a buddy of mine. I only did it 10 times. I almost chopped my own head off on the 11th rep. He continually tells me how he saved my life in front of girls in order to receive blowjobs from them.

  • made the right call

  • In reply to gpldan:

    that's ALWAYS the right call.

  • In reply to gpldan:

In two ways. If the girls were worth a shit, that is.

  • You got a 70 inch TV like MB?

I just move the laptop about 3 inches away from my face. Solved.

  • 1st Round Pick: Datone Jones

  • Late in the game predict:

Lane Johnson falls out of the 1st round, even the Bears take a pass on him.

  • In reply to gpldan:

damn, and I just predicted Bears would draft him..... why would they pass him up?

  • Waffle posted this mock:

This mock came out today. The writer fails to note that the Bucs traded their pick for Revis.

I nominate it as second worst mock after Peter "mustard on my tie and Farve on my chin" King.

  • In reply to gpldan:

Not to mention he us picking Fluker over Cooper, which I doubt highly.

  • In reply to gpldan:

I think we're more likely to take Fluker because Cooper will be on a team already.

  • 1st Round Pick: None

  • This is a better mock, has switching with the niners for their 3rd and 5th.

  • 1st round pick: Lane Johnson

  • Alright jabrones, update. I put a little back work into this, so, you're welcome.

Grades from (If you want to read up on their analysis)

  • nice effort man. I appreciate it.

  • I like looking at the Bears draft this way because it lets us in on the Emery process (a bit).

So, from seeing this, one must ask:

How much better is Brown, Te'o than Greene?
How much better is Pugh than Frederick, Schwenke or Mills?

The only WR in the top 3 rds was Swope, a speed/slot guy, so that tells me they're targeting that in the later rounds.

The same goes with HBs - they obviously want to get a good one later.

Lots of LBs and OLs in the first 3 rounds, with some DL, CBs, but not much.

What I'm still baffled about is not interviewing Shea last year. Perhaps they didn't interview him because they were trying to keep Shea secret - from a possible Pack or Pat trade up.

This year I think the Bears DID interview their 1st rounder (unless they're trying to pull the same stunt with Minter, etc).

I also strongly believe they interviewd their 2nd and 3rd as well, like last year.

Beyond that, it's sort of a crap shoot.

  • 1st round pick: Arthur Brown

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    please god no.

  • Fuck it let's be fun.

    Geno Smith.

  • In reply to DYLbear23:

I don't think Geno Smith is big enough for Right Tackle though. He also hasn't played linebacker since 7th grade.

DYL, i'm doing a refinance right now, i'm pulling out 50K and i'm sending it to you to put on the Bears FTW through that betting house you mentioned. Do you think my wife will mind? How can we lose? 33-1? Let it roll. Of course you would receive a percentage for facilitating the transaction.

  • $1.65 million?

You should consider it earned already and go ahead and buy that Ferrari on credit.

  • In reply to gpldan:

I'm willing to bet that same statement was uttered in 2005 between two buddies that became "condo developers" and lived in a sleeping bag of cocaine.

  • I'd be utterly shocked if they didn't pay out within 24 hours of the draft ending. Would certainly make my paypal transactions a lot more exciting.

  • In reply to DYLbear23:

Suposodely a lot of teams want to trade back into the 1st around 22, so if you start the rumor, it might benefit us.

I'd prefer 3 teams get desperate and draft QBs before us.

  • I would have no problem moving UP in the draft and getting an OL difference maker. I've stated before that a strong OL move and then a LB or CB in the 4th while re-signing Izzy and/or Okoye puts us ahead of last year in terms of talent on D.

We walk into 2013 with a totally revamped OL, the same D plus 2 LB upgrades and the playoffs on our minds.

  • Tbh, I wouldn't want Smith if he fell to #20 and I'd ship the pick to the highest bidder, but I just wanted to pick someone that hadn't been picked yet. I've already got me tee.

I want OL first but if we had to get a linebacker I'd have to go with Manti Te'o.

I just don't have the skill and power to revise history enough to convince myself he is not good. Other people have stated that this guy is a bum after the fake GF saga but I saw him play for 4 years and the guy had one bad game....along with the linemen in front of him and the DB's in back of him.

Te'o is a badass, unless you revise history...then he somehow becomes Michael Okwo.
This guy is pure linebacker. If we go LB and get anyone besides Te'o i'll be disappointed.

  • Besides, Lennay Kekua won the ESPN NCAA Tourney. So she has mad skillz. Shame she's dead now.

  • Honestly, I think I'd like WR Patterson if he's still at 20 over Brown, Te'o, Ertz, Fluker and a few others.

Yeah, he's a bit of a primadonna and unpolished, but that dude is EXPLOSIVE, and that's what our O needs.

Don't believe me? here ya go.

  • This guy has more juke moves at speed than vintage Derrick Rose.

  • In reply to gpldan:

Imagine Patterson lined up in the back field with Alshon, Beast and Black Uni.

What does a D do besides shit bricks?

It's not fair that Ponder can dump off passes and get 90 yds with Harvin while Cutler has to 7 step drop, dive under a DE, then chuck it into triple coverage.

Time for some sweet cheap YAC.

  • Not sold on Patterson myself, but I've not put in the hours like you guys.

Doesn't matter if we have the dump off available for Jay, he's still gonna chuck it into triple coverage if he spots BMarsh in the middle of it. And Ponder could barely hit his dump off option if he was more than 5 yards away. That guy is trash and will be benched for Cassel by week 10.

  • In reply to DYLbear23:

damn right hes gonna chuck it to BMarsh and statistically it'll be caught for 13 yards and a first down 7 out of 10 times.

  • Meatballing at its finest.

  • In reply to DYLbear23:

I'm not sold on Patterson as a #1, but for us he'll be a #2 or #3 (behind Alshon).

That's money. Plus, he can line up in the back field and return. MO MONEY.

On clutch downs, it's Beast/Bennett all day.

  • Beast/Bennett? or Beast/Bennett/Bennett?

  • How about the possibility of trading down slightly....picking up a 3rd round pick from a team wanting to draft a QB, then STILL being able to draft Ogletree or Brown with a late 1st rounder AND grabbing Minter/Alonso to play OLB. Be set at LB for a decade and then Oline rest of draft.

That be 2 starting capable LB's. With the extra 3rd they pick up, can still get decent Oline men i.e: OG's and Tackles. Isn't Kromer an Oline "guru"? So he has a history of turning late round Olinemen into Probowlers.

  • In reply to BAM46Blitz:

That's what I think's gonna happen to the shigrin of many on here.

We're not going to draft an Olinement until at least the 3rd (that we traded down for).

    OT/OG Jordan Mills, OT/OG Kugibala, C/G Schwenke, C/G Frederick

    My money's on them.

  • PLEASE draft Kugibala just so I can hear my 10 y.o. son laughing every time they say it.

  • In reply to BAM46Blitz:

Is what I'll hear every time.

  • I will fucking cunt-punt the next person I see doing something like that...'

Yeah yonny... I don't want brown at 20 either... but CD and hardin make me worried. As I've stated, I hope all that hooey was lovie and tice and marrinelli... just not sure.

I would really have liked to confidently put: "1st Round Pick: Jonathan Cooper"

But I just don't trust emery yet based on last year.

  • Know what, fuck it... I rescind my pick above and go with....

  • In reply to MB30SD:

I think at least 2-3 QBs and one RB (lacy) go before us. We'll get our OL guy in rd 1

  • In reply to MB30SD:

You'll have to settle for Warmack cuz Cooper is going before him.

Steelers might indeed take Lacy. It's between Lacy, Jarvis Jones and Vaccarro for the Steelers I think.

Jets, Bills and maybe even Browns are rumored to go QB.

  • 'settle for Warmack'

imagine how you would react if someone told you in February that the Bears would have to do that. Amazing how much can change in such a small time.

  • In reply to DYLbear23:

    I was being fecitious.

I'd love Warmack at 20, and I know MB would too.

I still have a hard time re-wiring my brain that TWO OGs will go top 19, so I hold out some hope for Warmack (Cooper will be long gone).

  • Yeah man I got that, I was just highlighting how insane the post-superbowl/pre-draft NFL world is, that 2 months of no football can make on teams evaluations of players.

I'm struggling to grasp the possibility of 3 OTs going top 5. I'm really going to enjoy this draft from a viewers perspective. So much uncertainty.

  • In reply to DYLbear23:

Yeah, this is by far the most murky draft in years. Even the #1 pick is uncertain. Everyone's now jumped ship into the Fisher pick. This is like the first time the #1 has been so up in the air sinch Bush/Mario Williams.

I mean, we almost know next year's #1 (Clowney or Manziel) more than this year's. Funny shit.

  • You never know...wasn't Barkley seen as this years #1 after the 'suck for Luck' campaign was won by Indy?

It's a darn shame we won't get a look at Clowney or Manziel from the #32 pick.

  • @RapSheet 1m
Watching @StaceyDales say she believes via source #Bears will take Manti Te'o at LB if he's available. Matches what I have been hearing.

  • I've also been reading that the Vikes might jump us to get Te'o, and that's what the Bears want.

In other words - it's draft day!

  • this is like Chess with athletic, shiny, black, white and Samoan pawns.

I just watched Django last night. Not Quentin's best but it was entertainment no doubt.

  • I was gonna check it out, but wasn't sure. Quentin might have jumped the shark at "Grindhouse", though I did enjoy "Inglorious Basterds".

I just find all his little meta-movie references a bit annoying.

  • loved it.

    well worth it.

Tino is a fucking genius. a supah geeeeniiiuuuuus

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Yeah, all his movies are at least fun. I even enjoyed "Four Rooms" and that had Madonna and Banderas in it!

I began watching "La Casa de mi Padres" and couldn't get beyond 15 minutes, even with all the smoking hot maids in it.

  • hahahahaha... yeah, looked funny, but....

  • Casa de mi Padres is AWESOME..... but you gotta be into the schtick it's portraying.....

  • In reply to Bender McLugh:

the tiger is worth the watch

  • Very forgettable movie I thought. Will Smith passed on it. Look up his favourite 20 movies from the last 20 years on YT. The guy's taste in movies sucks balls. I think I liked Dazed and Confused out of all of them. Most were obscure Asian movies that aren't even amongst the good Asian movies. Battle Royale is his favourite movie from the timespan. I'll give him Pulp Fiction and to a much lesser extent Reservoir Dogs and Kill Bill.

  • Imma let you finish, but Honey Badger was the best of all time! All time!

    Still riding that Kanye meme...

  • 1st round pick: Arthur Brown

  • So when I'm right, I get all four t-shirts?

  • fb_avatar

Who would glitch pick in round 1?

No chicken dinner this year. We need Steak.

  • can I change my vote to curban johnson in rd 1?

  • "In some of the late rumors, heard that the Bears are big fans of Desmond Trufant. It makes sense for Chicago to draft corner help as Charles Tillman and Tim Jennings are older veterans. Phil Emery made a similar pick last year when he selected defensive end Shea McClellin despite having some good veteran"

  • uuuuugggghhhh

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Definitely need to draft a CB, Bears could plug Trufant in at nickle and be good to go.

  • In reply to Shady:

shaddup your mouth and have another fucking daiquiri.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

don't worry, Trufant is good but the Bears are in "win now" mode, not "worry about Tillman and Jennings' contracts that are up after this season".

We are taking OL, TE or LB.

Someone to secure the right side, someone to stretch the fuck out of the middle with Black Unicorn or our next stalwart LB for the next 10 yrs.

  • iz worried maingses.

  • Damn... My hopes for Tank in the first round are probably JUST a bit far off.

  • In reply to Who is Willie Gault:

I actually think that Carradine will sneak into the back end of the 1st (to the Falcons).

He's sort of an injury red flag for some teams, just like Barret Jones might fall due to inj concerns.

  • I died laughing when someone said this on my chat today..

Someone: Why do people still think Cutler is weak?

Someone replied: It's those damn sweaters.

  • Not football related, but my daughter learned this cool fact at school today.

79% of all people don't know the opposite words for the following:

    1) Always
    2) Coming
    3) From
    4) Take
    5) Me
    6) Down

  • In reply to BAM46Blitz:

I'm willing to bet that 9yr olds back in 1845 knew this info. Kids these days are dumbed down from birth and having stupid fucking parents doesn't help.

I saw some punk bitch little kid cussing out his mom with his shaggy fucking pussy Bieber hair and ipod the other day. Kid couldn't have been more than 10.

Do you know what John Adams' kid was doing at age 10? He was the fucking apprentice to the Ambassador of Russia or something of the sort.

  • now get off my fucking lawn!

  • Did you realize you got Rick Rolled?

  • In reply to BAM46Blitz:

i don't know what that means.

  • Someone should tell him:

  • In reply to Crunch Buttsteak:

  • Rumors that Falcons may move up to try for Tyler Eifert.

That would make sense considering the loss of Gonzo after this year.

  • I just can't take the Falcons seriously since they got blown out by the Pack in the 2010 playoffs. Mediocre D and this decades Peyton Manning at QB, can't see them winning.

Although it's a travesty Gonz won't win a SB. He should have signed with us.

  • 1st Round Pick: Manti Teo

    Fisher going #1 seems

  • Warmack

  • 1st round pick: Tyler Eifert

  • I heard this stud is moving up the boards...

  • this has rick rolled aaaaaallllll over it.

    Ok, I'll click.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

I am saving my Rick Roll, thank you very much.

  • you guys might want to study this:

  • not football related, but holy fucking shit

  • this is also not football related, but it's much much less gruesome and much much more funny:

  • Can anyone tell me what did Lance Briggs said or did recently that has people riled up. I've been pretty busy lately and haven't been dialed in, but I recall a few of you saying something about his attitude lately or some other shit. Anyone care to fill a brother in?

  • just watch this doc... dude's a fucking dumb ass.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    That was uncalled for.

  • Boom! Gotcha!

  • Maybe he bitched it up over the way Urlacher left.

  • this dude has us taking watson:

  • 13 1st round SEC picks are projected so I'll take a flyer on

Kevin Minter, LSU, even though I have to believe the Bears have the hots for Mantai Teo because he's from Notre Dame

.This morning on Dan Patrick (who I find more and more annyoing lately) Mike Mayock (who I respect) had praise for Teo's smarts and ability to call defenses and 1 game doesn't make a career but I just cannot get past how pedestrian the Domer MLB looked against the "Big Boy" competition that was Alabama.

  • 1st Round Pick: Bjorn Werner

  • In reply to Crunch Buttsteak:

I know nothing about college football players, but according to Wikipedia, "Bjorn" means "bear" (as in Bjorn from The Hobbit), and "Werner" basically means "defender" (Werner is derived from the Germanic 'warin' (guard) + 'heri' (army). So there you go.

  • In reply to Crunch Buttsteak:

And, no doubt, a good Christian because he's...

    (wait for it)...

    BJORN again!

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

  • Fisher is #1

  • In reply to gpldan: showed his phone going off.

  • In reply to DYLbear23:

Bayless already twitting criticism of the pick. That rug on his head belongs on a front porch.

  • In reply to gpldan:

Supposedly the scouts wanted Joeckle while the coaches prefered Fisher.
Also, the Albert non-deal had a little to do with it too. Fisher graded higher than Joeckle at RT, apperently.

It's odd for a team to go for a smal school player over a big school player who are basically even. Love to hear the rational.

  • I think the rationale was Fisher's combine.

Of course, by that measure Lane JOhnson should be #1

  • Jags Joeckel. OTs go 1-2.

This will long be remembered as THE OL draft.

  • In reply to gpldan:

So when do you think Warmack/Cooper come off then?

  • In reply to DYLbear23:

I've long since stopped trying to call it pick by pick.

I do think the Raidahs take Star here.

  • In reply to gpldan:

    Fuck me. Trade.

  • In reply to gpldan:

And this will be another year when NOBODY wins the ESPN mock draft contest.

  • In reply to gpldan:

You probably have better odds on winning the lottery tbh.

  • Who had Miami trading up for a LT? This guy.

Didn't think it would be this high though. Damn.

  • Wow. Dion Jordon. That makes more sense. I had him going #2 to the Jags.

  • 1-2-3 OT is crazy. Absolute crazy. Funny that the Lions ain't getting an OT though.

  • In reply to DYLbear23:

Shit I hit post as I heard it was Jordan.

  • In reply to DYLbear23:

You weren't the only thinking MIA would take Johnson.

Trading up for Jordon is a huge gamble.

MIA probably has a trade for Albert in the works still.

  • Eagles can take Geno Smith and start the run on QBs.

  • Lions go for Milliner?

  • In reply to gpldan:

    Ansah probably.

  • In reply to gpldan:

    Yeah, Ansah I think.

  • Milliner had like 5 surgeries on his shoulder or something.

    Might fall a bit.

    Could be Mingo too.

  • Just us 3 then guys?

  • Lions - Ansah.

Well, at least I got ONE in the top 5 right.

    I actually called this pre-FA.

  • Barry needs a tailor.

  • Yeah, where the hell is everybody?

What time is it where you're at DYL?

  • coming up for 2am but I'm free tomorrow (today I guess) so I can take the punishment. Also tracking the Bulls game but they're giving me little reason to keep doing so.

  • In reply to DYLbear23:

Dang. That's hardcore. Took the day off tomorrow for the draft?

You better drink some Irish Coffee - Bears will hit the clock at about 3am your time.

  • I've had a few coffees, and yeah I made sure I had the friday off long ago.

  • Ansah looks like a god damn monster. Yikes.

Barry looks like his little brother.

  • What do they feed em in Ghana? Deeem.

Reminds me of this scene from Airplane

  • here

  • Anyone know what the Dolphins gave up to the Raiders to move up?

  • In reply to The Fifth:

one of their 2nd round picks

  • In reply to The Fifth:

At least one of the Fin's 2nd (they had two).

    Plus maybe like a 4rth-5th.

  • In reply to The Fifth:

I think Oakland got the Phin's 1st (12th pick) and one of their 2nd's (42nd).

  • Anzah + Suh

All potential pick. Suh can teach him to play dirty.

We need some Warmack or Cooper.

  • holy fuck, this dude is straight FOB maings.

    Oh and... fuck the lions!

  • Browns take Mingo.

  • In reply to gpldan:

They were rumored to want him, but I thought Mingo might fall a bit.
    Guess not.

Then again, they are the Browns.

  • hey DY, now THAT is a nicely tailored suit. And dude is LEEEAAAN.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Guess I just prefer a closer fitting suit. Barry is a living legend though, so he can rock whatever he wants.

  • we're loosing cooper here aren't we? fuck me maing.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    pray to Papa Bear...

  • Cards take Cooper. Wow. His stock soared.

  • Fuck me man.

Damn it, we're not getting our OL till later are we $?

Damn it, I'm fucking sick of leaning on fucking OCs saying they can turn shit to gold. god damn it.

    (ps. Damn it)

  • In reply to MB30SD:

I've been trying to prepare you guys lol

We're not going Oline till the 4rth unless someone really falls (see below).

  • Shit. I had the Cards drafting Warmack, but Cooper shot up late in the process because he's more athletic and versatile.

Don't fear MB, I still believe there's a small chance Warmack falls.

  • fb_avatar

How's it going for us. 3 OTs in first 5 picks Cooper at 7. Wow a rush on big men. Any thing that helps Bears?

  • Anyone drinking anything special?

I just settled for Newcastle and Guinness.

Didn't have time to Peruse BevMo.

  • Had a few Lowenbrau earlier on in the day if that counts. No beer at this time though.

  • i just finished my protien shake after my workout. that count?

  • Smoking something special.

  • In reply to Crunch Buttsteak:

So you'll probably be happy no matter who the Bears select.

  • I can go into a drunken rage at any time.

  • Rams trading pick

  • Rams up for Austin?

  • In reply to DYLbear23:

    you called it

  • The Rams gave up No. 16, 46, 78, and 222 for the Bills No. 8 and No. 71.

  • This league is all about the LINE. If you control the line of scrimmage you don't necessarily need Barry Sanders, Joe Montana and Jerry Rice at the skill positions.

I feel like we're going to trade down now.

  • a 5ft 7 WR being the first WR off the board. The NFL has gotten so weird.

  • In reply to DYLbear23:

the kid is lightning but is absolutely tiny. i could see him dying on the field if he ever tries to go over the middle and has a shitty pass come his way that takes some body control away from him.

  • Espec with noodle arm Bradfor throwing the ball to him. Him coming across the middle against the Seahawks DBs twice a year? No thanks.

  • His mom (?) absolutely towered over him. That was strange.

  • In reply to DYLbear23:

In a "passing league", no less. Its very strange.

  • fb_avatar

    1st Round Pick: Arthur Brown

  • my god the jets are a fucking mess.

Rex ryan is getting fired in the secnd qarter this year. Buttfumble will also be released next year. Jesus, thank god we're not the jets.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    Bigger mess: Jets or Oakland?

  • In reply to DYLbear23:

Jets actually made playoff appearances before the toecutter scandal hit and mister GQ fell on his face.

  • In reply to gpldan:

Gotta agree, will be at least 2-3 years before they can compete again.

  • Milliners hands are worse than Kellens.

  • In reply to DYLbear23:

    That's low lol

  • In reply to DYLbear23:

He would have to be missing fingers.

  • fuck

  • In reply to MB30SD:

yeah Titans needed Warmack to open holes for Johnson.

  • Chris Johnson's FF stock just went up.

  • fb_avatar

With the No. 7 pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Arizona Cardinals select Jonathan Cooper, G, North Carolina
    From Walter Football Live blog
9:02: Guard. Stupid. The Rams are moving up to No. 8 for Tavon Austin most likely.

9:05: Never thought I'd say the day when a guard and a slot receiver were chosen in the top eight of the NFL Draft. The smart teams drafting in the late teens, 20s and 30s have to be laughing right now.

  • Two things that weigh a metric ton:

Fat Bastard and the 2013 Top 10 draft choices

  • fb_avatar

9:26: Two guards in the top 10! Once again, the smart teams drafting at No. 15 and on have to be laughing at these inept franchises.

  • Fluker?

Yeah, this is THE trench warfare draft.

  • In reply to gpldan:

More like the no stud QB, WR, HB draft.

Teams are going safe with Oline in such a mediocre draft at the top.

  • fucken a man... guess I have to take back my... uhhhh... comments about peter king.

You were right, I was wrong (and too hopeful).

    Sorry fat ass.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Shit, the way the big guys are being called up tonight it surely can't be long before Pete gets the shout to suit up.

  • Fluker is a scary man.

  • Fluker brings the big ugly to the term big ugly. Sheeeeeet.

  • Star or Geno?

    Big pick for Raidah nation

  • In reply to gpldan:

    Maybe even DJ Hayden, CB

  • you are right

Could fat boy King be right about Star?

  • In reply to gpldan:

Maybe his health flag is bigger than teams let on.

Or maybe teams see him more as a NT.

  • In reply to gpldan:

    What about the Sharif?

  • In reply to DYLbear23:

If Sharif falls to us, we have to take him.

  • Won't get past the Panthers/Saints. Eifert and Geno (!!!) looking good so far.

  • And we passed on Sharif!

  • wow. did not see that coming.

  • In reply to DYLbear23:

Mike florio sure did, he called the raiders trade and pick yesterday. Guy deserves kudos for that one.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

props to him on that. I don't see how the Raiders take the #2 CB over the top DT though. Lunacy.

  • my goodness I dislike sal palantonio.

Looks like we have a shot at one of the top 2 LBs and maybe eifert or ertz.

  • fb_avatar
    In reply to MB30SD:

if it comes down to that which way do you go?
    I'm leaning top TE

  • In reply to Big Mike:

Shit we have the black uni mike... I think we HAVE to take a LB.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

You don't like "Sal The Pal", Eagles Shill? Go figure.

  • Wow. Sheldon Richardson before Star AND Floyd?

He's not even a fit for the Jets at DT.

I guess he'll play 5 tech, but wow.

Can't believe both Star and Floyd are falling.

    Cowboys must be salivating.

  • I'm glad we are all thinking the same thoughts. Jets suuuuuck.

  • Poor fat jets fan. Getting called out as health risk to the row in front of him...fuck, jets just took my guy. Bears should have traded up for him, but that means the sharif might still be there.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

My cousin texted me hoping Sheldon Richardson would fall to the Bears. You guys think alike.

  • Wow again. Richardson over Floyd?

  • omg, did you see that idiot's bracelet? Seriously dude?

He's going to be broke by 30. douche.

  • Jets don't want criticism regarding Revis.

Both first round picks go to D.

  • fb_avatar

I think Star just came off the board.

  • In reply to Big Mike:

    good call.

  • fb_avatar

If Geno Smith is there, do you take him?

  • In reply to Big Mike:

    probably. same with Floyd.

  • In reply to Big Mike:

  • In reply to Big Mike:

I don't trust Geno, but I hope he falls to us because a lot of teams wanting to trade back up are scared that the Vikes, hell, even the Bengals, draft someone with an arm.

  • In reply to Big Mike:

    Fuck no.

  • fb_avatar
    In reply to Crunch Buttsteak:

Good trade bait if he is there.

  • fb_avatar
    In reply to Big Mike:

I don't want him either BTW

  • In reply to Big Mike:

I'm praying there'll be better bait available. Something we have to take and keep.

  • fb_avatar

That Menelik Watson OT will be there. Is he viable?

  • In reply to Big Mike:

Do we really want another OT converted to OG?

I hope someone takes him before us, esp since the Pack might want him.

  • In reply to Big Mike:

  • damn, there goes my secret hope pick. oh well.

we're going with another fucking chicken dinner... I can feel it. fuck.

  • fb_avatar
    In reply to MB30SD:

Oh no... we need Beef Steak, Not Chicken Dinner

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Maybe you need to slip a little rum in your next protein shake.

  • or just start drinking vodka right from the bottle.

If emery pulls another chicken dinner or hardin I will freak the fuck out. I swear I will.

  • Vaccaro to Aints. Called that one too.

He's like a Longhorn Hardin (bwhahaha)

  • Jarvis Jones for us?

That's why I wanted Jeff to ask his "expert" if he'd be a fit for our D.

  • I don't see him fitting unfortunately.

  • fb_avatar

Someone is taking Geno Smith before us. Shariff Floyd is going to go before our turn

  • Bills, E.J. Manuel.

Well, there goes my top QB in this draft.

  • Irish will be heartbroken.

  • fb_avatar

EJ Manueal!!! Geno Smith holy shit what a drop

  • I guess we still might have a shot at D'Jinkalage Morgoone from the University or Fleerda.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    Everybody drink.

  • In reply to gpldan:

I'm sorry, I just don't think Manuel can start this year. And, by definition, it's a bad pick.

  • fb_avatar

Two teams in front of us. Neither need a QB. Geno Smith still on the Board. Vikings want him, do we cock block? Or swap #1s and pick up another choice.

  • In reply to Big Mike:

swap and pick up a 3rd if we can get it.

  • Cordalle Patterson, WR

    just sayin.

  • No way Floyd gets past SF.

  • Jarvis Jones OLB/DE, Steelers

Called that one in my mock to.

Kind hoping they'd get Lacey, but oh well.

  • great pick for them.

  • Damn. Why couldn't the 9ers trade with us!

  • Shit, was really hoping SF would trade that 3rd rounder to Chicago.

  • Niners take Reid.

Guys, we are looking at Floyd.

  • In reply to gpldan:

    Gmen gotta pass him first.

    They also run a 4-3

  • fb_avatar

Eric Reid to SF who swapped picks with the Boys.. WTF.. Bears have an embarrassment of options

  • Holy crap.

    Or fuck it, take Floyd.

  • Have to believe Emery/Trestman will go after Patterson or Eifert.

  • If the Vikes want Manti, time is now.

I wonder how Emery's smokescreen went.

  • Xavier Rhodess, CB

    Just sayin

  • alright boys, what are we doing here?

Picks that won't make me completely loose my fucking shit:

    * Ogeltree
    * Brown
    * Manti
    * Ertz

.... Sharif (that was from a rabbit text just now)

  • In reply to MB30SD:

  • fb_avatar

Floyd, Eifert, Rhodes, Watson, Geno Smith?

  • We are on the clock!!!

  • ESPN has Bears' needs as OT DE CB.

What the fuck are they smoking?

  • maroons

  • fb_avatar

I'm thinking we trade back. Someone wants up.

  • Eifert. Go Eifert.

  • This is the year to have three picks stockpiled at 20, 21, and 22.

Holy shit, Emery can't go wrong. Except for OG/OT, he's got prime players at all his positions of need.

  • Here we go boys...

Tons of talent still on the board

    Rhodes, CB
    Floyd, DT
    Patterson, WR
    Eifert, TE
    Ogletree, LB

  • I always get confused... didn't ertz beat out eifert in the end... or did I get that wrong again?

FOCUS guys, we have a fucking stud TE, we NEED a franchise ILB. Take Ogletree, brown, or manti!!!!

  • fb_avatar
    In reply to MB30SD:

  • fb_avatar

    Floyd, Floyd, Floyd, Floyd

  • Make me proud, Phil.

  • Glad Giants took Pugh so we wouldn't.

  • fb_avatar

Ogletree will be there if we can trade back

  • fb_avatar

    Pick is in. No trade!!

  • Very excite.

  • Tick...tick..tick...

  • pick's in!

    Here we go boys!

  • Kyle Long?

  • In reply to tobijohn:

    My response was "Who?".

  • fb_avatar

Kyle Long!!!. Don't love it. But I feel better about it than I did Chicken Dinner.

Can we call him Beef Steak!

  • Kyle Long?

  • Kyle Long, I LIKE IT!

Son of a hitch Jeff kinda called it.

  • Long. Wow.

  • uhhhhhh..... someone?

  • Long?

    Fuck me.

    That's a fucking reach.

    Oh, Phil.

  • Rums gone. On to the awful cinnamon whiskey.

  • fb_avatar

Big stretch. Nobody wanted to trade up... Shit

  • Another of Howie's kids.

  • Jeebus, Cincy didn't waste any time getting their pick in. They were chomping at the bit.

  • well that tempered the enthusiasm real quick.

  • Ugh.

  • What a SHITTY pick.

Nice to know JA's 1st round gift was passed down to Emery.

  • Kyle Long is going to turn 25 in December too.

  • Well...Lobo got his guard. So there's that.

  • Paraphrasing Mayock: Starting guard who could develope into a starting tackle.

Well THAT would be a refreshing change from "Starting tackle hope who hopes to hang on as a guard".

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

Why would we want him to develop into a tackle? that's what our 7th rounders and UDFAs are for!

  • fb_avatar

A fuckin terrible pick. Another Godamn Tackle that will end up playing MFing Guard.

Goddamn it and we reached by 20+ picks. Shit, shit shit. Good night

  • In reply to Big Mike:

Pay attention. He was announced as a guard.

  • Who knows how this pick will work out. Right now I'm convinced PE was going to take an OL man no matter how many came off the board. If he had a chance to trade down he should have.

  • fb_avatar
    In reply to CanadaBear:

Best Player Available is for champions. Drafting to fill a need is for losers.

We are losers. He will not even start.

  • In reply to CanadaBear:

Obviously, he didn't have a chance. Look at all the talent that was on the board at 20. He could've traded back 4-5 spots and still gotten the same grade of player he could've had at 20. But he didn't trade; ergo, no one was willing to move up.

  • Well, as long as Phil gets Schwenke or Frederick, plus a decent MLB or even that Xavier Gooden dude from Mizzou, I'm OK.

    I'm just... underwhelmed.

  • Nothing wrong with protecting the franchise, wouldn't have been around in the 2nd, probably means Carimi or Webb getting cut. Excellent.

Love this kid, anyone who wanted O line help can't complain, he'll be starting for years to come.

  • fb_avatar
    In reply to Shady:

That's crap. Long won't beat out either Carimi or Webb. For 1 to beat Carimi he has to learn how to play inside. 2 to beat Webb and Scott out in his first year, won't happen.

Sharif Floyd on the Board? Tyler Eifert, Desmond Trufant, Ogltree,

  • In reply to Big Mike:

    Well we'll see jackass.

  • In reply to Shady:

He's a project OG who's going to turn 27 next year.

    DeCastro went #24 last year.

We could have probably got Warford or someone along those lines in the 2nd.

  • Who says he's a "project"?

    Besides you, I mean.

  • Trust in Kromer.

  • Man, I'm no expert on talent but Kyle Long is a bit anti-climactic, don't you think?

  • In reply to tobijohn:

Everything I've read it seems like a major reach. So far PE is good with FA but sucks moose wang in the draft.

  • fb_avatar
    In reply to CanadaBear:

Man that was a crap pick. Moose wang is too good for him.

  • It's Chicken Dinner all over again. A 2nd rounder picked in the first.

I don't know. I would have taken Eifert, that guy is the next Tony Gonz. We could have had a killer air attack and gotten Long at 50.

I think maybe Emery is a schmuck.,

  • In reply to gpldan:

And now the Bungles get Eifert.

    Fuckity fuck.

  • Minny's gonna have their pick of some prime CBs.

Not that it'll help 'em against BMarsh, but they got to just sit there and let one of the top 3 CBs fall to them.

  • Great pick by the Bengals.

  • 370 comments? Are we playing the Vikings?

My only fear in round one was the Lions picking Ziggy. Julius II.

Justin Pugh would have been a nice pick to counteract that ... and the prospect of seeing J'Marcus starting again.

I hadn't heard of Kyle Long before the draft. We passed on Ogletree and Manti. Wow. LB and C please .....

  • Looks like no one's winning any t-shirts.

  • Jeff wanted to keep them for himself, evidently.

  • Did we just pick another fucking project in a win now year???

    Emery you fucking cocksucker.

We could have had Chandler Jones and Tyler Eifert in these past two years. I'm going to be sick right now.

  • Jebus people, it ain't sexy but its solid. Keeping the QB upright is crucial. Still plenty of opportunity to pick up TE/WR/LB tomorrow.

  • fb_avatar
    In reply to Shady:

It's not solid, it was desperate and we didn't need to be.

  • In reply to Big Mike:

No offense but how the fuck do you know?

  • In reply to Shady:

  • And to confirm, nobody won the t-shirts.

  • I'm fine with a reach as long as the guy turns out to be worth the pick. I don't see Long--the 3rd-rated OG (and a long falloff from the top 2)--as being worth the #20 pick in the draft.

  • Did not see that coming. At least Eifert is not on some other NFC team. FUCK, fuck, fuck... Eifert is a Beast. Damn Emery. I need more Bushmills. Hope Ertz is available. Fuck me...

  • fb_avatar

WEAKNESSES: Isn't the sum of his parts yet. Has rotated between left tackle and left guard over just two seasons playing on the offensive line and has been protected a bit by Oregon's quick-hitting scheme which rarely asks their offensive linemen to maintain blocks for very long.

His impressive combination of size and athleticism gave him a shot at the NFL despite having no experience as an offensive lineman.

Oh great a "shot" "no experience" That's what you want out of #1 pick.

    Top 10 pick next year?

  • In reply to Big Mike:

    Dropping down for the Clown?

  • In reply to Big Mike:

Thanks for posting his weaknesses, sound like a perfect fit with Trestmans quick hitting offense. Versatile kid with a ton of upside. Why don't you post his strengths or should we continue to view things as pessimistically as possible?

  • I know that we needed to address OL but this seems like a reach. I wanted Eifert at that pick. We'll see how he mans up or not.

  • So we are now looking at

    backups to choose form

Carimi, Scott, Brown, Williams, Britton and possibly Schwenke/Frederick?

  • In reply to DYLbear23:

No way Garza's starting Center this year. Bank on it.

  • He better not be anyway. Garza suuuucks.

  • fb_avatar
    In reply to DYLbear23:

We didn't get better at Center, We didn't get better at RG. We may have gotten better at RT. And we wrote off yet another #1 LT who failed at guard.

    Sucks Moose Wang

  • It's telling that Ogletree and Te'o are still on the board.

Ogletree's off-field issues must be pretty scary. Te'o's catfishing--or slow 40 time--are scaring a lot of teams away.

And the run on OL let a lot of teams who needed CBs and other positions to sit pretty. No need to trade up when top talent is going to fall because idiot teams like Buffalo draft a R2-3 QB early in R1

  • Catfishing and 40 times has little or nothing to do with it.

It's those Alabama footprints all over Teo's body that has him dropping.

  • I think shady's right guys.

The thing we needed MOST was interior linemen. Yes, long was a reach at 20, but he comes with a family pedigree and we'll still get brown or minter or maybe even ogeltree or manti at 50 (MAYBE!)

I think this one is very CD-esque, but I think long will end up being the real deal for us... it's just yet to be seen whether he can come in and help us next year.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    Thank you.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    "Protect The Franchise".

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

Exactly, been saying it for YEARS Al.

  • I kind of feel like I just had a big bowl of cheese puffs for dinner. I'm still hungry...

  • In reply to tobijohn:

I feel like I just stood inline waiting three hours for Pink Floyd tickets, only to find out it's new kids on the block.

  • O.M.G... LOOOVE NKoTB!!!!!!!!

  • So far only the Bills have reached further...

  • Can't argue with OL.

    Still, I feel like

    Long better be good.

  • In reply to Crunch Buttsteak:

WTF?!? How did you find that? Where did it come from?

    Now I feel like

  • That's hilarious.

I found the (dubbed) Bridgestone commercial while raping the web for versions of Altar in Your Box.

  • Uh-oh-ooh-oh-ho uh-hoh-ooh-oh ...THE RIGHT STUFF ! Don't you knock on my boys now!

  • Fuck... Vikings did not drag their feet getting Floyd.

  • This is disgusting. We pass on the top TE in the draft to select the 6th or 7th best tackle and project him to guard!?!? WTF Emery?

  • In reply to BearDown85:

    That puts it in perspective...

  • In reply to tobijohn:

    I HEARTILY disagree.

They JUST SIGNED Martellus Bennett, didn't they?
Is he not a tight end? A QUALITY tight end?

The Bears are so deep they can afford to spend a #1 on ANOTHER tight end? I don't THINK so.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

Ed Zachary, Al. I would have puked a lung if we drafted a TE. Just amazed that we passed on Sharif.

  • In reply to BearDown85:

And also one of the top DTs which now goes to our division rival....shit.

  • In reply to BearDown85:

Riddle me this batman, what's the point of having an elite receiver if the QB doesn't have time to throw him the damn ball?

What don't you people understand? Do we really have to go through this again? After close to a decade of shit Oline play? Really?

  • In reply to Shady:

Im not upset at the pick of an OL. Im upset that, for the second year in a row, we use our first round pick on a guy we probably could have had at our slot in the second round and who is a project that wont help this year or maybe even next.

  • In reply to Shady:

    Amen, Shady!

  • In reply to Shady:

Likewise your tight end so, Amen, Shady!

  • Somewhere in the world, JA is applauding.

  • In reply to DYLbear23:

Has anyone taken out the rights to

  • In reply to BearDown85:

    JA has it.

  • Butch has been preaching for some time that Mayock's top 100 go fairly close in the draft to where he has them slotted, aside from a few players. Long was rated his 29th best player, and the best OL left on the board according to Mayock. Most regular posters have been talking OL, OL, OL all offseason. We drafted our biggest position of need with possibly the best player available. We have a glaring weakness at left guard. I have no problem with this pick.

  • In reply to The Fifth:

    Thank you.

  • In reply to The Fifth:

The problem with that logic is that Eifert was the 14rth best player.
    Floyd was 2nd best.
    Rhodes 20th.

The good teams draft the best player, not need. Especially not a project who's going to turn 25 years old in December who had character issues.

  • I get passing on Floyd when we gotta pay Melton.

But Eifert rates in the 90s, Long in the 70s on the NFL rating scale. A great TE helps the run game as well as a guard.

All the best lineman got taken ahead of us. Once Warmack and Cooper were off the board, you can't drop 20 points on the scale just to go position of need.

  • In reply to gpldan:

The Bengals took about 30 seconds to turn in their cards for Eifert.

Probably laughing at Emery all the way up.

  • Next year, I'm not even going to bother with studying the draft.

I'm just gonna randomly pick a 2nd rounder, preferably a project or a guy who doesn't fit our scheme, move him up to our pick, and call it a day.

  • Should probably email your cv to the bears.

  • fb_avatar

  • Damn. Fuck. No Eifert. Pass the Bushmills. Long? God I hope Ertz is available. Long?

  • Vikes get Floyd and Rhodes in Rnd 1.

    That's a nice Rnd 1.

  • In reply to gpldan:

That's because their GM knows how to draft.

  • Didn't their GM once work for the Bears?

  • In reply to gpldan:

Shame they still have Ponder at QB.

  • In reply to DYLbear23:

  • In reply to DYLbear23:

If Emery had to pick a QB in the top 10, he probably would have drafted Nassib just to be cute.

I don't trust Emery at in the first anymore.

It's like GroundHog's Day starring Jerry.

  • In reply to DYLbear23:

If Emery had to pick a QB in the top 10, he probably would have drafted Nassib just to be cute.

I don't trust Emery at all in the first anymore.

It's like GroundHog's Day starring Jerry.

  • you said that already.

  • fb_avatar

    The ghost of Glitchy

  • Great....and the Packers take another damn pass rusher.

  • Jimmy Graham. Gronk. Eifert.

I really wanted us to develop a 2 TE attack for the Red Zone, because Unicorn and ERod are slot guys.

If we're going full Jerry Vainisi this draft, then let's go for Barrett Jones in 2.

  • New thread folks.

  • From front page "Emery says Long "flunked out" of Florida State. But has rebounded."

  • How about Swope?

  • Christ, you guys act like Tyler Eifert is the next coming of Tony Gonzalez. He's no better than Coby Fleener who went in the 2nd rd last year. And believe me, I was a big Fleener fan but most TEs just aren't worth a 1st round pick.

Most of you guys seem to be upset at this selection, and frankly, we won't know for a while. Right now I'm going to bed happy to know the QB in Chicago has more protection than he did yesterday. If you're gonna be pissed, have fun with that, but do yourself a favor and just don't watch the rest of the draft.
