Chicago Bears at San Francisco 49ers Game Thread

Chicago Bears at San Francisco 49ers Game Thread

Three final thoughts:

  • If Mike Tice throws it more than he runs it tonight we may be entering "he's not fit to be an offensive coordinator" territory. You don't have to average 6 yards a clip but if the Bears veer away from the ground game at any point they will end up exposing their issues in pass protection to a ferocious rush.
  • I don't believe in litmus test games in November but this is absolutely a litmus test game for Adam Podlesh. We are likely to see twenty punts and Podlesh can't put the Niners in position to be in field goal range over a first down or two. He needs to have his best game tonight.
  • I wouldn't want to make my first career NFL start against this Bears defense. I think Colin Kaepernick starting for the concussed Alex Smith is a HUGE deal. Smith is not flashy but he's consistent, accurate and mistake free. Can Kaepernick string together six or seven throws in a row to beat this defense? I don't see it.

Bear down. Cowbear lost on Sunday night but he's never lost on Monday.

  • First to say you may need to retire the pedo bear if the Bears don't win tonight.

  • Odds are now SF-3.5. I guess the difference between Alex Smith and his back up is only a couple extra points...

  • Yes. I went to Buffalo Wild Wings two hours early. I can't help it. I feel as if every Bears' game is a Christmas present.

I am enjoying life, the Chicago Bears, and how awesome things are going for me.

I really am blessed or one lucky individual. Let's enjoy this game and the season.

  • +several, Artoo.

    Bear Down, my man!

  • Glad you're doing so well Super. Everyone was kidding you a while back about getting married. I really like being married (enough to do it twice). Hopefully you only go down that road once in your life and it lasts 50 years.

  • God bless us everyone.

  • I

  • Hate

  • The 49ers

  • That awesome little football player Samantha Gordon just got some props on ESPN. Here's my favorite video of her. It's got some slow motion showing her skilz.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LLVp7QQA7X4&feature=g-crec-f

  • Jeffrey(s) is active tonight. Welcome back son.

  • Game day.

After reading the Tribune blogs and predictions, I feel like the only person who feels comfortable with Jason Campbell. He is not Hanie or McCown. I'd actually like to see the Bears come out with play action and throwing it.

If I had my pick of Cutler vs Smith, or Campbell vs Kaepernick, I think I'd choose the latter.

The Texans game was a mess, but I liked the O-line play and if you give us a viable TE, we make that a good game. We lost by a TD while giving up the ball twice as much. Those games are gonna happen occasionally.

Put the positive hat on guys. It could be much worse.

  • In reply to bajeezes:

Not to mention being bent over and ravaged by the zebras on no fewer than five occasions that game.

  • Cutler, DJ, Dane, Toe, Ozugwu all inactive.

  • In reply to Shady:

Woot Woot starting over Izzy tonight. He deserves it. izzy will be fine.

  • In reply to Shady:

Wow. I guess we're sold on Hayden.

I agree. SF is big and physical, and Hayden is a bigger more physical CB.

Toe must be injured. He's usually more stout against the run.

  • My dark-horse tonight? Kellen Davis.

    boom

  • In reply to Shady:

    Hester.

  • Touché R2

  • In reply to Shady:

That would make sense, Shady. Davis disappears (or worse) for weeks, then looks like a pro-bowler at the most unexpected times. Damn, and I thought we traded Olsen away?

    dark horse: Alshon.

    MVP: Melton.

  • Cowbear wasn't responsible for Cutler getting speared in the head! And even with a back up QB, we barely lost by 7 to a SB contender.

    Common on, Cowbear!

For anyone who watched the Ravens-Steelers last night, expect deja vu. I just hope our back-up QB and stud D gets the win the Steelers didn't.

I'm more pissed off that we don't get a chance to see Cutler go against an elite team. He lost to the Packers. Got knocked out by the Texans. We'll prob get a lot of close up shots of him on the sidelines looking pissy tonight, keeping with the whole media narrative.

  • Over or under 4.5 shots of Cutler on the sidelines tonight?

  • Neither Cutler or Shea is at the game.

  • Touché.

  • In reply to Shady:

Is at? ... someone kill me.

  • Not unless you don't make it out to the 2013 draft party. Then you're in trouble, Supes.

  • I guess Cutler doesn't want to be caught looking all Cutler-y.

Cue the "Cutler's not being a team player" for not attending ESPN spin cycle...

  • Wooten to start over Izzy

  • That's also interesting. Izzy is great against the run. With Izzy and Toe not starting, I wonder if the Bears are thinking the 9ers pass more than we'd expect? hmmmm

  • Someone tell what difference it makes with them all rotatiing fairly evenly anyway...

  • In reply to tobijohn:

Easy. How did any of y'all feel when you saw that paper that said you were not the starter?

Either Izzy is hurt or someone is saying step your game up.

  • OR they went with the guy with more speed to play contain on a run-first QB...

I think my theory is more likely.

  • Or Woot Woot is just playing out of his mind right now.

  • The lollipop fade? WTF. Is that seriously a term?

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

Young's head is a lollipop. One crack, and his brain becomes gooey like gum.

  • Wow, Penis-head with the most nonsensical logic ever for picking the 49ers...

  • That Butkus-Lott opening just made me feel like looking for my helmet and tackling a brick wall.

  • Can't WAIT.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

    You knew this was coming...

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D7KSkZxt_zo

  • Keys to the game.

Patience. the run WILL get stuffed early. Both Ds are jacked. Gotta stay patient and when the adrenaline wears off in the 2nd half, that's when holes get exploited.

Clutch kicking. One of those games. Our Punter and Kicker get paid for this shit. Toub, you want a HC job, here's an interview by the whole country.

Take shots. Campbell has to take calculated shots to loosen up that D. Needless to say, someone besides Marshall must catch em.

    GO BEARS!

  • Total bullshit call, ref hadn't even blown the whistle.

  • Tackling no longer permitted in the NFL. Noted.

  • Conte is proving to be a bit of a hothead. Cool it Chris.

  • Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat???

  • Kap looks accurate so far, working the PA passing.

  • Um, you guys told me this Kaepernick guy was supposed to suck.

  • How does BU miss that tackle?

  • I think Wooten was held twice that drive. Fair enough if Bears can get away with it too.

  • In reply to bajeezes:

Except the refs have already shown that they're ready to flag the Bears for tackling people.

  • There's your answer, Jeff.

Wright and Briggs with a little Roach are gonna cover Davis. Not sure I like those odds.

  • The 9ers better hope all those kicks travel out of the endzone because if Hester catches one even at the 108 line, he's running it back.

  • ......JC. C'mon, man.

  • Fuck me, this is going to be a long night.

  • In reply to Ufficio:

As much as I'd like to blame that on the line, Campbell could have stepped out of the pocket. He walked into that.

  • In reply to bajeezes:

Unfortunately, we're stuck with him too.

  • Alright Podlesh needs to go.

  • In reply to Shady:

37 yards, even into a stiff wind, is not NFL-quality punting.

WTF happened to him? Last year, he was good.

  • Nice play calling, Tice. 4 yd run on 1st and 2nd. But we'll go shotgun on 3rd and 2.

Nice punt, Podlesh. That guy needs to be cut after this game if he chokes.

  • Pod has not been right since that hip injury. Time to take a seat and bring back Quigley.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

    oh, that's right. The hip.

    Yeah, bring back Down Under.

  • Campbell needs a head clock adjustment. Get rid of the ball bro.

  • DAAAAMN. Paea blew that play the FUCK up.

  • fb_avatar

No hackers taking over accounts to post links tonight? ;)

  • ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?!!

  • Kapernick IS on fire.

  • There's NO pass rush.

  • Son of a bitch.
    Son of a BITCH.
    7-8?

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

OK, I predicted Bears to win 82-10.
    So, there's still a chance.

  • The Bears always fucking do this. Some rookie scrub makes us look like fucking amateurs.

  • In reply to Ufficio:

To be fair the kid is playing well. The Bears aren't getting home b/c of the PA and Kaepernick is making 'em pay with his arm. Unexpected.

  • Gotta stop playing off the receivers. They're running free. They need to be bumped at the line so they can't get into these timing routes.

I've seen the Bears DB lining up 9 yards off the ball. That makes no sense.

  • C'mon ticey.

  • Anybody make a tackle anymore without pretending they are Superman?

  • Threw it behind Forte or that's a first down.

  • About fucking time Podlesh.

  • Not a lip reader but I think Podlesh said "It's about time" and it is...

  • Hey, Pod with a good punt!
Now put down the iPad and quit reading our comments.

  • Bears D set up to make a play...

  • In reply to Shady:

    aaaand Gore for 10.

  • Hope they warm up a little....10 down in 9 minutes.

  • I need a fucking "Jon Gruden Mute Button" on my remote.

  • Can't we run a slant?

  • In reply to Stuck in MN:

    Can't we cover a slant?

    Can we cover any route?

    Apparently not.

  • 49ers are making the Bears look very ordinary, on both sides of the ball...

  • In reply to tobijohn:

That's far too generous. We've made one play on defense, and it wasn't even a drive-stopper. An overthrow is the only reason they didn't get 14 from their first two drives

  • 49ers just have superior play calling on O. They run. They play action. They gameplan to attack other D's weakness (in our case, stay away from our CBs and attack everyone else through the air). Short routes, mixed in with some slants when in obvious cover 2.

Our OC on the other hand...

  • WTF

  • Jesus, Kaepernick is looking like the best QB of all time.

  • Our pass rush is garbage tonight. That's opening everything else up.

  • I thought SF was supposed to have a moderately crappy O Line?

  • No way. They have one of the best. Them and the Texans.

  • Out coached.

  • Apparently the Niners didn't like tying the Rams last week.

  • And now the zebras are against us.

  • Who knew Cutler's concussion affected Urlacher?

  • Well, I thought the defense was going to make a game out of this, but I suppose it's better to be disabused in the first quarter than the fourth.

  • This is fucking embarrassing.

  • I really hate the 49ers.

  • OK, this this the game that the Bears O is gonna bail out the D, right?

  • We're getting pantsed on national TV. Oh, this is loads of fun.
Glad I didn't go to the bar to watch this.

  • Bears getting exposed. Embarassing.

  • Our Dline is getting abused. Never thought that would happen. Usually in these prime time games holding doesn't get called, so everyone else has to play fundamental.

  • This is a fucking joke!

  • This is a fucking disgrace!
Our Defense is getting their asses kicked gents.

We better wake the fuck up and in an hurry.

  • In reply to Bears-4-Ever:

Might be too late. We're not playing the 2005 Cardinals...

  • I blame the diabetus.

  • I'm gonna watch a movie...had enuf of this shit. A Fucking GODDAMNED ROOKIE quarter back doing this to this team is a complete fucking disgrace!!!!!!!

  • Has anyone checked Campbell's blood sugar?
Ufficio may be on to something.

  • Can we just go home now?

  • Best tackle of the night - Devin Hester.

    Fuck. This.

  • The Dust Bowl - Part Deux is on tonight. Mammoth black clouds sweep the Great Plains. Bears / Sixty-Niners I must have dreamt that.

    Best regards -
    Jack Lacan

  • In reply to Jack Lacan:

It's Jack! Yeah, that is a great miniseries. On the other hand, the dulcet tones of the narrator's voice put me to sleep last night.

  • Nice tackle by Hester...

  • Take Hester off the offense!

  • Why is Hester still running routes? Alshon is back. Throw it to him. We can't stop running the ball either, Tice.

  • After a game like this, if I were a Bear, I'd be ordering in and staying out of the public eye...

  • harbaugh is sending a message

  • I thought wham plays were illegal in the pros?

  • Well, on the bright side I can get to sleep early if this thing gets blown out before the end of the half. Gotta get up early anyway...

  • In reply to Shady:

Yup, and no highlights to watch over and over later in the week so we'll save some time there too...

  • Lovie burning the timeout just to add to the shit heap

  • In reply to DYLbear23:

Gotta burn at least one T.O. per game.

    It's in Lovie's contract.

  • want irony?

Niners are built like the 85 bears. seems Harbaugh didnt just learn from Ditka; he learned from Jim Finks

  • Weren't a couple DBB regulars going to this game? Poor devils....

  • I should be glad my cable went out right at the start of the game. When it came back, SF was about to score point 17.

  • Ow!

  • All things considered, the Bears should feel fortunate to be down only by 20.

  • Wow, unfucking real ! Hester still is a mediocre wideout. He pretty much sucks on returns anymore. Jason Cambell is a less than adequate backup. Vernon Davis is what we wish kellen Davis was. Alex Smith best be lookin over his shoulder. J'Marcus Webb is still a piece of shit!

  • bears just need to hurt people now

  • Now they are teeing off on the run game...with a 20 pt lead.

    THAT is fucking pathetic.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

It's obvious we can't pass with Cambell and our line.

  • In reply to #76 Mongo Murph:

Campbell can't pull the string...someone needs to force feed him Skittles at half time until he pukes.
    Wake up, Jason!

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

Hey, and now we're missing easy Special Teams tackles too!

    "Winning" in all phases, baby.

  • Tice is a stooge

  • In reply to gpldan:

    + a bunch gp

  • 2nd and 11, we're down 20, run it up the gut!

A bunch of fucking geniuses running this team.

  • In reply to Ufficio:

we cant pass block. at all. gotta run

  • In reply to Ufficio:

    3rd and 11, down 20, run a screen and lose a yard!

Tice's head needs to be on Lovie's desk in the morning.

  • Down by 20 and we're running this shit? Tice is getting outdone by a 2nd year QB making his first start.

  • I hope if the Bears do lose, they get embarrassed. That way Emery can see with his own eyes how inferior our Oline compared to the 9ers.

  • They also sucked for a much more extended period of time than we ever have. Hence all of the first round picks that they could spend on O-linemen...they went 9 years between playoff appearances after all.

  • Did the Bears send out their JV team this week? WTF!

  • I haven't turned off a Bears game till 0:00 at the end of the game in over a decade, but I'm considering shutting this BULLSHIT off already! My blood pressure can't handle this.

  • Harbaugh is shitting down the Bears collective neck

  • THROW THE FUCKING BALL!!!!!!!

  • webb bull rushed like a punk

  • In reply to gpldan:

Webb is a piece of shit. Looks like Emery knows where his first round draft pick is goin next year.

  • In reply to BearDown85:

A concussion prone project defensive end?

  • At least Hanie made it entertaining with all his prancing around.
    Campbell is killing me.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

haha I had to laugh at prancing.

  • In reply to Shady:

He used to jump around like he was having trouble seeing over the goddamn o-line....or had to piss really bad.
Actually, I'm pretty sure Hanie was getting ready to pee himself most of the times he was behind center.

  • Like Peyton Manning has driven a Buick in the last 15 years...

I could be at "Skyfall" right now. Damn Bears.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

Bond is a bit washed up in Skyfall. like these bears

  • You know...I dealt with the loss last week because we lost Cutler and it was shitty weather, and it was one of the great teams of the NFL, but there is nothing to grasp onto with this game.

  • In reply to BearDown85:

The fact that the D has played like dogshit is what really seals the deal tonight. I wasn't expecting much of anything from our offense...a touchdown and a few field goals would have impressed. But our D is getting ripped.

  • Silver Lining: Kellen Davis is out of the game.

  • Campbell is horrific. Positively Hanie-esque. Put McCown in for the 2nd half.

  • Marshall might go home and stab somebody

  • In reply to gpldan:

I hope he goes home and stabs Mike Tice.

  • In reply to BearDown85:

For the first time in awhile, I was actually laughing out loud at that one...well played, maing.
    That was funny shit!

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

Thanks bro...its funny cuz its true. LOL!

  • Haha, the announcers are treating the Bears D like a scrimmage team, "let's give Kaepernick some 2 min drill reps"

  • 3 and out! The tide is turning!

  • Minnesota's going to be a game back and come in to Soldier Field smelling blood next week after this shit. If we lose that one, no playoffs for us this year.

  • In reply to Ufficio:

And they'll be fighting us for second place...

  • 20 plays for 15 yards....is that what you call "explosive" Mike Tice?

  • I think I'll go watch dancing with the stars. This is ugly. Tice certainly can't judge or coach o line talent. Webb is a fucking embarrassment. He's spent more time on his back than a $50 dollar hooker on a Saturday night.

  • In reply to #76 Mongo Murph:

When my man Murph puts DWTS before the beloved, you know you are playing like shit...
    I am so sad.

  • GD it. Why do we suck so bad?

  • Hey, Earl the Pearl...didn't realize he was still on the roster.
    Well, that was fun.

  • Against my better judgement, I think I'll stick around for a bit of the third quarter....

  • In reply to tobijohn:

If it doesn't get better on the first two drives...I'm out

  • In reply to BearDown85:

If SF scores before the Bears, I'm out.

  • Dreadful, just end the game now.

  • When Mike Tice is fired, this is the game that tipped the scales.

  • In reply to Johnnywad:

    Tomorrow you mean?

  • Well, even though we're stinkin' up the joint tonight and underacheived last week, I'm pretty sure we can win atleast three of the next six games and 10-6 should be good enough for the playoffs. After that though...

    Nov 25 Minnesota 1:00 pm
    Dec 2 Seattle 1:00 pm
    Dec 9 @Minnesota 1:00 pm
Dec 16 Green Bay 1:00 pm
    Dec 23 @Arizona 4:25 pm
    Dec 30 @Detroit 1:00 pm

  • In reply to tobijohn:

We'll win more than 3. After this type of loss, the Bears will come out roaring and win the next 3 in a row.

Then it's GB, and most likely fit the pattern of losing to elite teams.

Then, we beat Ariz who has a worse Oline and QB than us, and finish off Detroit who by then should be in shambles.

Then, off to lose in the playoffs again, and not having a high enough draft pick to draft a quality LT.

  • That sounds about right...

  • How did Reed get suspended for that but Dobbins walked off relatively scott free? bullshit from Goodell.

  • Half Time Analysis:

Well, I like Jeff worried who would cover Davis, and apparently the Bears didn't have an answer. I would say put Roach with Wright over the top, but we tried that, and it still didn't work. Wright is just having a really bad night. Our pass rush has all but disappeared. The D just seems to be taking bad angles and not wrapping up, which is a-typical.

Our O looks like its usual inept self. No game plan. No rhythm. No audibles or hot routes to Bennett or Alshon. Obvious game calling. I don't know what the announcers are talking about, but our run game has actually been more effective than I predicted, it's just that Tice isn't getting imaginative with it like the 9ers, and now while we're so behind, it won't matter as much.

3 step drops Tice, that's all Webb can handle against Aldon. Screens. If you're going to send Forte on routes, Campbell has to be accurate and give lead Forte (Cutler actually does a good job of that). But it's not gonna matter, really. I have little confidence in Tice.

Our D will come out fired up, but eventually all those 3 and outs by our O will wear that anger down, and we'd be lucky to lose by 3 TDs.

  • Someone should get Life Alert for JWebb and Carimi for when they get bullrushed onto their asses.

  • 20-0 at the half.

Franlky, I feel fortunate that it's not worse.

At least we're winning the "Battle of the Backups" because we've been BACKING UP all night!

    Mommy. Make it stop.

  • OK Well I have to point a few things out. Campbell is not a bad QB but I'm telling you right now the way their defense is running through our Oline...some of them NOT EVEN TOUCHED...you could put Joe Montana back there in his prime and the score would be the same. We new 3 seasons ago our Oline was not up to par and now it's coming back to bite our asses....this is what happens when you don't draft Offensive Linemen.

Our defense is being OWNED in all aspects, they are running and passing at will and we suddenly forgot how to tackle....

I thought we'd be in the playoffs for sure this year...now I am having doubts...the Niners are killing us...what do you think the Pats or Ravens would do to us...

Maybe the Doomsayers had it right after all this week...

    SWEET BABY BEBUS!!!

    BEAR DOWN!

  • In reply to Bears-4-Ever:

I hate to speak ill of my beloved Bears, but I haven't seen anything against the teams that matter this season to make me believe that even if we back into the playoffs that we could go anywhere.

  • about the only positive I can take from this game is that the pirated feed I'm using doesn't have commercials--they cut to an animated ESPN logo and some generic music.

  • ok, we got our ASSES handed to us the first half, let's see if we can do any better the 2nd half. The perts all said SF was gonna run heavy tonite, WRONGO!!!! Actually, we couldn't do any worse with McCown in.

  • Surprise surprise....three and out from the offense.

  • In reply to BearDown85:

    Surprise surprise, big sack.

I have a feeling the Bears' defense will lock down the 49ers the rest of the game, but the offense won't be able to put up 20+ points.

  • Gore around the end for 11. Again.

I take that back. This is going to be a 30+ point loss. 37-3 final score.

  • Wow...youre giving us 3? You're so generous!

  • In reply to BearDown85:

    Garbage time.

  • Great job, Tice.

4 yd run on 1st and 2nd, and back to the shotgun joke on 3rd and 2.

Jesus. At least Martz was creative with his bullshit.

  • If you can't convert a 3rd and 3...fuck. Gabe. Dude.

If I have to hear Tirico say, "Poor punt, Podlesh.", one more time...I might be out.

  • Major Wright...out of position for the 1,973,294ads;lkng time tonight

  • To our benefit, I think Mario Manningham might be the slowest WR in the game tonight.

  • NO pass rush.

  • Alright guys. I cant handle this anymore. Thanks for the company in this misery. I'm out.

  • A win against the Vikes does nothing for me.

  • Same here...the Bears are getting an education. Night all.

  • I wonder what ten things Brad Biggs learned from this game...

  • Wow, a pass complete. Awesome.

  • Terrible. Absolutely terrible.
    Can't tackle.
    Can't get to the passer.
    Can't run the ball.
    Can't throw the ball.
    Can't punt it for shit.

Hope this serves as a wake up call and not an omen.

  • where's the flag for head-to-head hit there?

  • The clock is not going to allow for this shit.

  • Looks like another concussion. McCown time.

  • In reply to Shady:

    Well, alrighty then.
At least the NFL is spending money on telling us how safety conscious they are. Nice timing on the commercial.

  • Well, at least McCown can run when the Oline breaks down.

  • Ugh. Not that Campbell was playing well, but the injury looks significant, and is just salt in the wound.

    Bears should just forfeit

  • 4th and 45?

  • Gruden called it: Car wrecks....

  • Wow...We're sorry Jason...now you know what Cutty has been dealing with...no Oline and no Protection and now you're hurt...No surprise.

Jay is going to go the way of the Bulger...all beat up and concussed and he'll retire before his time...sad...so very sad..

The truth is coming out now....any team worth anything is going to know what to do to beat the Bears D and they'll learn. This may be the turning point where all we can do is hope for next season.

  • We're bound to see McCown shortly with another shot like that.

  • Blog broke?

  • Bajeezes - welcome to the short, but growing, list of folks that have unleashed powers beyond their ken...

  • Fixed?

  • Need a pick 6, a special tems TD, and an offensive score. In 18 mins. And need the defense to step up.

  • Blog is broken--can't reply to any posts.

    Countdown to moving from Chicagonow...

  • Nope, comments will be broken until a new post or the gnomes step in.

  • Urlacher can't get to the edge

  • Touchdown!

  • OK, obviously Hester was trying to get to the right side because that was where the return was set up, but no one blocked.

    Still, RUN UPFIELD, DAMMIT.

Can't believe I'm still watching this.

  • Okay. Hester is done. Fuck it. Are you fucking kidding me? Jeeee.Zusss.

  • Damn. we should have traded Hester while he still had market value.

  • anyone still defending Hester after that return?

  • Our D just looks slow compared to the 9ers D. That 9er D looks like our D in 2006 with Willis and Bowman playing the parts of a spry Lach and Briggs.

Now, Lach and Briggs can't get to the edges fast enough, and the 9ers are running all sorts of sweeps, counters and cracking down on our DEs to hit the perimeter.

  • Oh for fuck sake.

  • I think I may have been capable of picking that one off. Just saying.

  • MBP, I narrowly missed it myself, would have had it if I threw my laptop to the floor but that kind of effort isn't needed to top the bears O.

  • Kill the Hester experiment! We need to put a bullet through the brain stem or at least a machete! We need to clean house, even if we finish getting into the playoffs, it'll end with us having high false hopes. Lovie has to go...the teams that do matter for us to beat know how to beat our defense and read our quarterback's eye stare. This game is terrible. Oh, and the four letter network and Jon Gruden can go to hell.

  • Oh hey, now they're trying to pull a Guy McIntyre, just to rub it in.
    A-holes.
    Class 1A Gold A-holes.

  • they should have gone for it on 4th and one...

  • hester fumbles.

  • Did we really just call a golddarn timeout...

  • Love is required by contract to burn at lest one timeout per game.

  • Lovie must burn a timeout per half it seems. Carimi is looking like a bust each and every passing game

  • Observations:

    1) Gabe Carimi, J'Marcus Webb, Roberto Garza, and Kellen Davis do not belong in the NFL.
    2) Eric Weems should be returning punts.
    3) Josh McKown should be second string QB; Campbell cannot throw
    4) This cannot beat a good team. Should we be happy they can wipe their feet on doormats? I'm thinking not.

  • Alson Smith and Justin Smith in the huddle, "OK, you beat Carimi, and I beat Webb, and we'll meet at the QB. Break."

  • DID YOU SEE CARMINI?!!!!!!!!!?????!!!!!

he looked like a bowling pin. smith should have finished that by teabagging him Halo style

  • 5) I'm glad you're ditching ChicagoNow

  • I am at a loss for words.

  • Carimi whiffs. Does not belong in nfl

  • Emery better make his presence known first thing tomorrow that he isn't going to tolerate this kind of shitty play making!

  • What a fucking circus

  • Chilo Rachal 0/1 0TD 0INT on the night...

  • GPL, I'm pretty sure they cut away from that.
    Oh, this is fucking idiocy.
Offensive linemen standing around looking at the damn football on the ground IN the endzone.
The officials just saved us a safety...at least for the moment.

  • 6) Harbaugh is a cocksucker

  • And Harbaugh can go fuck himself gently with a chainsaw for challenging that.

  • Fuck Harbaugh. You've dominated the entire game and then you pull this shit over 2pts. There's coaching with passion and then there's being an ass.

  • That might have been one of the smartest plays I've ever seen by a football player, regardless of how this call turns out.

Marshall knowing that if a Bear gets tackled in the endzone, it's a safety, reaches down and rips it forward out of the endzone.

  • In slow-mo, you can actually see Marshall stripping the ball from Rachal.

  • Marshall might be the next Tillman with that play? Lol

  • this is sad. this game decimates an organization

  • Shame on you, Mike Tice, for continuing to subject your QB that abuse.

    Shame, shame, shame.

Shame on you, Lovie Smith, for standing by and just watching it happen.

    Shame, shame, shame.

  • Harbaugh, you POS, I hope we meet you fuckers again in the playoffs. You cocky shithead.

  • LOL

at least Jeff has a new weekly column!

Intentional Groundings from the Left Tackle.

  • I hate this website. And I hate that the Bears look so shitty when they lose.

  • What a horrible performance. The line is horrible. Campbell sucks....At least this is/was an away game and not a home game. I guess my rant last week carries over. I will not rant this week. This team does not deserve my attention til at least Thursday.

  • Nonexistent blocking on ST...wheeeeee.

  • Hey, look at the bright side: the Bears got pantsed in 1984, getting humiliated & shut out by the 49ers.

And we all know what happened the next year.

  • there was a game 2 years ago, Bears at Cinci, the Benson revenge game, that effectively ended Alex Brown and Wale's career.

this game is worse. worst Bears beat down in a generation.

    this is child abuse

  • Gruden forgot to mention that Spencer played C, but of course plays G for us.

  • Shame on you, Mike Tice, for continuing to subject your QB to such abuse,

    Shame, shamme, shame.

And hame on you, Lovie Smith, for allowing it to continue.

    Shame, shamme, shame.

  • Yo, Brain Trust, try not to get our backup QB, starting RB, or one of our wide receivers injured while we get whipped . Did not like seeing Marshall come up holding his shoulder with a 4 td deficit and 3 minutes to play.
Take them the hell out of the game.

  • And why the piss are Marshall/Forte out there?! Looked like Marshall hurt his shoulder a bit on that shitty Campbell pass. Thank god if he did, it was not bad.

  • You know, as crappy as the offense has been, the defense has to take the blame for this loss.

30 points against a team not known for its offense. 30 points against a 2nd-year QB getting his first start.

The offense putting up a single garbage TD against a top-tier defense, I can understand. I can even see how Mike Tice figured out a way to make a team with so much offensive firepower suck so badly (hint, a lot of credit goes to the craptacular OLine). But I can't see how the defense sucks it up so horribly.

  • carmini has a fear boner

    turnover on downs

  • fuckin bears - once again. medicore team year after year after year

  • Marshall looking stir crazy on the sideline. This is why Cutler force feeds Marshall the ball early.

It looks like Marshall's telling teammates on the sideline to man the fuck up, and they're just getting pissy.

  • had the Bears wore white away pants, you would see the yellow and brown stains

  • Well, have fun recapping that one Jeff.

  • I fucking hate this team - seriously - this team is the joke of the nfl - double fuck them - defense sucks, offense sucks, podlesh, hester and the rest of the fuckin special teams suck - fuck you bears

  • Alright then. That sucked.

  • If Lovie cannot make someone accountable for this garbage of a game and offense *cough*Tice*cough*, then Emery needs to step in. This is not acceptable for an NFL team's product, especially for the Chicago Bears! I am pretty sure Lovie will be fine not being an NFL coach. I think he'd make a great preacher somewhere *rolls eyes*

  • Like GPL said, this felt reminiscent of the Cincy game a few years back.
    Terrible, terrible effort.

  • Only positive I can take from tonight is B Marshall is the man I thought he was.

  • I'm also a bit upset to hear that the Bears arrived late yesterday because they were busy watching the Lions/Packers game.

  • hey jeff - why dont you write a story about how every fucking year (including 2006) us homers sit here and watch this shit bag team do nothing. at least the browns or the bills know where they stand year after year - losers. we sit here thinking we are a good team but we suck - every year - suck. laughing stock of nfl.

  • I guess pedo bear is going to an early grave.

  • ehhhditka is a troll, nice try troll

  • Shit. Just got back from the bar. Glad I watched the game in a bar. People kept buying me jello shots. Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck.

  • That game was, in a word, disturbing.

  • I had never seen Kaepernick, or whatever his name is, until I saw his face on the screen this game, and the minute I saw that fucker, I knew he was going to kick our ass. That motherfucker is is going to kick the shit out of the NFL. The 49er's with Kaepernick, or whatever his name is, are going to kick the fuck out of everyone.

  • I'm driking Tequila in coffee.

  • I am fucking numb right now, drunk, stoned, full of caffeine. There is just no way to finesse this loss. This was total domination.

  • this is a reality check if there ever was one.

But Bears being "laughing stock of the NFL" like i'm reading here, damn some of you really can act like drama queens huh?

  • BXL - the guy ehhhditka was obviously a Packer troll. One of the several fags that spend their time on our blog.

  • and fix your shitty blog Jim so I can respond to trolls like ehhhditka when they are polluting the site with their presence.

The Bears are fucking up but only we can point it out.

  • and furthermore, at 7-3 we are at still near the top of the whole conference and the division as well. Cutty, come back and bring your swagger. Time to beat up on the Vikes and pull pussies back from the ledge.

  • The postmortem is this...
It was one game. It was a real butt kicking, and no one phase of the team looked good last night...but it only counts as one loss.
Unfortunately, in the NFC North this year in particular, it is going to be a dog fight until the end. Time next weekend to make it a two-team race though and put the Vikings back in the basement where they belong.

  • MBHP - i'd respond directly to your post but the 3rd grader in China that does the technical fixes to this site from 1999 is under house arrest because there was a rumor that he didn't like the color red.

I agree it was one game and the focus needs to be this week. Cutty, come back.and save us from ourselves and our media...and please help Brandon Marshall stay focused.

  • I burned CowBear in effigy in my yard this morning.

  • you homers are unbelievable - anyone who tells you to wake up and smell the coffee you call trolls. im just another pissed off chicago fan who is really tired of the mediocrity we get year in and year out. we'll see who is right when this season goes down just like the last 25 years. even if we make the payoffs, we wont go far.

do the math and pull your head out of cutlers ass. Since 1985, we have a yawn inducing average record of 8.5 wins to 7.5 losses. One game above .500. If that is not the definition mediocrity I don't know what is.

it's time the fans wake up and stop all this "it's just one game" BS that Lovie and the rest of them keep flinging our way. We have one of the richest and most popular franchises in the game and we deserve better.

  • more data:

    - there are the bears - right in the middle.

    http://www.aolnews.com/2010/01/07/nfl-standings-for-the-decade-colts-patriots-are-the-best-lion/

Here are the values of the teams - we are in the top 25%

    http://www.therichest.org/sports/most-valuable-nfl-teams/

  • Nah, you're a troll. The owners are brutal, Angelo put us behind the 8 ball personnel wise but you're a fucking troll none the less.

In one post it's "us homers" and now it's "you homers"???

2006 you just sat there and watched a shit team do nothing???

    2010 NFC Championship Game

2011 7-3 until injuries ended season

    Laughing stock of NFL???

Please troll, try to be more clever.

  • hey waffle - the data doesn't lie. i hate it more than anyone - believe me or not, it doesn't matter. im not really making an argument here, just presenting the facts - it's the data stupid.

  • You're a troll and troll data is bullshit to me because I don't give a fuck what happened from 1985 onwards because I was 7. I care about what we are doing now to be relevant. The last 3 years we have been relevant and seem to have a GM that can fix some of the weak spots. take your data from 1968 and throw it in your Green Bay packers mini garbage can with Mark Chimura face/lid.

Averaging losses from the late 80's, 90's and early 2000's??? What the fuck does that have to do with now? Shut the fuck up Troll.
