Detroit Lions at Chicago Bears Game Thread

Detroit Lions at Chicago Bears Game Thread

Five final thoughts:

  1. It was requested this be the game thread photo for all prime time contests after its success against the Dallas Cowboys. We're sticking with superstition and letting silly bear in cowboy hat rule the night one more time.
  2. Stopping Calvin Johnson is always an adventure but not a requisite for beating the Lions. The Bears need to focus their attention on stopping the second (Burleson) and third (Scheffler, Pettigrew, Young) options for Matt Stafford. Calvin Johnson is going to get his. Make sure nobody else does.
  3. Test this secondary on early downs. Detroit has a good run-stopping defense so best to avoid worthless first-down carries that puts the offensive line on their heels.
  4. Devin Hester can conceivably win this game on his own if Jim Schwartz gives him that opportunity.
  5. If this game is played in a downpour I truly don't know who it favors. I don't foresee either team finding success in the run game so we may find ourselves in a field position/kicking battle. At home, I still like the Bears quite a bit in that situation.

Bear down.

  • 1st to say I hope the Bears D makes Chaz Bono regret the sex change.

Also, the Midnight Cowbear returns! Good primetime mojo.

  • Jim Swartz is an undisciplined and less than intelligent opponent. Translation: I expect Hester to have a big night.

  • I'm going to assume nobody will be watching the game nor commenting until after the Presidential debate is over, right?

  • In reply to tobijohn:

    Already watched it.

  • In reply to tobijohn:

I was thinking the same thing, but I think I'll watch the Bears.

  • In reply to TheFifth:

I was kidding, of course. I suppose my civic duty would be to watch the candidates but that ain't gonna happen. What might be interesting is how the ratings play out. If the game beats the debate outside the IL-MI area, that says something...

  • In reply to tobijohn:

Third party candidates I guess aren't worthy of being in the debates according to the "independent" Federal Election Commission. My vote has already been "disenfranchised" by the mainstream media and the cabal know as the Democrat and Republican parties, so I could give two shits. Bring on the Lions!

  • In reply to TheFifth:

    Amen, brother, amen.

  • In reply to TheFifth:

If the Debates had Ron Paul AND Nader on there, it would be a lot more interesting - worth watching even.

You may not agree with either of them, but they speak their convictions and aren't scared of pissing off the establishment.

  • I agree 100% Butch. This country could use some new ideas.

  • In reply to tobijohn:

Choice is pretty clear: You can vote Morman or Muslim.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

Mormons are way worse than Muslims.

  • In reply to Crunch Buttsteak:

Really? How many buildings have they crashed airplanes into?

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

How many states do the Muslims own?

  • In reply to Crunch Buttsteak:

They don't own any states that know of. Just a president.

Answer a question with a question. That's a white flag,

  • In reply to Crunch Buttsteak:

Ho ho ho!!! That's a funny one, Crunch. It *is* a joke, right?

  • anyone know an HD stream for tonight? i'm sure i can find an SD one on firstrowsports or one of those similar sites, but i've yet to come across a solid HD source.

help, obi-bear. you're my only hope.

  • In reply to evantonio:

I've been searching for the same. Firstrow actually has an "HD" option, but I'm a little weary of whatever app they make you download for it.

  • i saw the app when i was watching thursday night football there. did some searching around to see if i could find anyone who had downloaded and used the app successfully. couldn't find a soul to testify.

  • In reply to evantonio:

Yeah, I remember downloading a similar app from another sport's site last year and had a hella time getting it off my computer.

Let me know if you try it out.

  • well. umm. how about you try it out? then you could see firsthand and the site's authority on the thing. wouldn't that be fun? =]

  • In reply to evantonio:

haha not tonight. I'm actually at a friend's house mooching off her ESPN, but what I might do in the future is back-up my computer right b4 I try the app out, so if it does have a bug, I can just restore my comp to that restore point.

  • friend... HER house... I've never had a chick friend in my life. pah-fucking-leeze!

  • In reply to MB30SD:

friends with benefits, as we say in the business.

    which business? porn? no clue.

  • Umm, the site is still messed up, at least for me. I have to log out and log back in again after every post. Tells me I have to be logged in to comment even though I already am. Fixing something breaks something else. A sure sign of bad code or bad QA...

  • Pedo bear looks like he's going to touch me in inappropriate places. Hopefully Peppers will play pedo bear with Stafford tonight.

  • How Chris Williams feels about getting signed by the Rams:

  • In reply to Shady:

do you know who that is….

One of the badest assed motherfuckers on the planet. I would like to be 1/4 as intelligent as him.

btw, almost was back online tonight, but was foiled by my screaming children and two screws that I forgot were there. They are off and I just need another set of hands and I will make it happen. Having withdrawls.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

go neil! Go neil... it's yo stringtheory....

  • In reply to Shady:

You know YOUR O-Line really SUCKS when you start signing offensive linemen who've been cut by the Bears !!!!

  • ESPN just had a nice hit piece on Cutler being a pouting crybaby, and how Chicago sports fans dislike him. Thank you Rick Reilly, whoever you are. They ended the segment with the requisite "Jay Cutler does a lot of nice charity work", so he's not the devil. We all knew that would be a pre-game story by the 4-letter network.

  • In reply to TheFifth:

Rick Reilly strains to be worth reading / being heard / being seen.

    Yet AGAIN, he fails.

If you want to see his picture just look up "Idiot" in the dictionary.

BTW, Mr. Reilly, Cutler has neither been imprisoned and suspended for for a year for killing dogs, NOR has he been suspended for 4-6 games because the Commissioner was FED UP with repeated, blantant acts of sheer stupidity including multiple acts of MISOGYNY !
He also does not have a nickname that includes the word "RAPE".

He DID however, quietly reach out to the family of the Bear fan murdered 2 weeks ago in Jacksonville.bring them to the Lions game in a limo and spent some time offering his personal condolences for their loss.

So, Rick, feel free to take that which you so ridiculously try to pass off as "Journalism" and shove it up your butt.

  • Bennett is wearing really orange shoes like the ones that got him fined twice last year! lol good luck earl

  • oh yeah... and FUCK Stafford, and FUUUUUCK the lions!

    Bear down mah bitches!

  • quick blog straw poll...

    for halloween...

Lt. Dangle from R911 or a football player in a tight uni.

(keep in mind the goal of the night pls)

  • In reply to MB30SD:

GP used to do straw polls... come baaaaaaaaaack Gpppppppppppppppp... waaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...

    (seriously, fucking common maings)

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    C'mon MAINNNGS. hehe

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    Lt Dan from "Forrest Gump".

If I say football player, that would make me seem gay...not that there's anything wrong with that.

But I'd imagine most women have a "laying a football player" fantasy, more than "laying a killer solider" fantasy, but what do I know?

  • All the ESPN panel picked the Bears. Now I'm a little nervous.

  • Yup, me too.

  • That TD ws the kind I'm used to seeing work against the Bears...

  • The Midnight Cowbear strikes again!

That was a GREAT improv by Cutty-Marsh!

  • what a play call!!!

  • That's EXACTLY how it's done. Excellent job so far Tice.

  • They made that look so easy...

  • Oh dang!

  • Timeout management. ugh.

  • In reply to Shady:

    Twice already.

  • Love the exotic blitzes, Conte has to get home on that last one though.

  • Can someone explain the TO?????

  • Welcome back Earl.

  • If you're punting from midfield, a punter should be able to down that in the 10, not give it to them on the 20.

  • Nice play by Shea to disrupt the pocket.

  • Don't like that screen call on third down, would have liked it on second, but not third.

  • Major, major, major that was a gift maings gotta come up with that INT.

  • Why do I feel that we should be winning 21 zip right now? The Detroit Defense looks sluggish to me tonight.

    It's a good thing.

  • This is the last stand for Hester.

If he can't go off against the worst SP teams, on MNF, then time to put in Weems.

  • Leave him on Kick Off returns only then?

  • Nice drop, Davis. Now you know why Martz didn't throw to TEs.

  • Fuck Martz.

  • Got away with one there...

  • OMG webb gets owned by Vanden Bosch...pushed him away like a sack of leaves,

  • D really needs to become supernatural here. Meows with good field position.

  • Time for a Defensive TD...

  • What is going on with our SP teams? So far they're the weak link. I didn't think I'd ever say that.

  • This is where you need a fullback.

  • Can't belive this game is only 10-0.

  • In reply to Shady:

You're right and that has me feeling a little edgy. Lions haven't done a thing and they're still in it...

  • In reply to tobijohn:

Is it our Oline or is Forte not running 100%? He looks to still be hurt and yeah the Lions are still in it because we're letting them look better than they are.

  • Bennett back returning punts. I guess they've seen what I have.

    Why not Weems though?

  • Where's #29 been on the short and 1 or 2"s???

  • In reply to MaddBearfan:

Why not do a tag team with Bush and Forte...give Matt more time to breath...Bush is explosive if you give him the chance.

  • Fuck me, Cutler down.

  • Oh shit.

  • yikes.

  • Whew....

  • "Just a brief diabetes attack"

  • Sue that fuck he put his arm up between Jays helmet and shoulder and slammed him head first...I hate that prick.

  • In reply to Bears-4-Ever:

yeah, I like how Tirico and Gruden say "nothing illegal there," completely ignoring that the guy whacked Cutler in the head with his forearm, then slammed him down. Urlacher got 15 yards a few years back for "flexing" his arms when he hit the QB.

Suh deserved a flag and/or a fine for that.

And yes, had it been Peppers on Stafford, I'd probably be screaming "HELL YEAH!"

  • Cutler said it was "just football". Lovie too

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

Yes it is and Jay is not a whiner like Brady. However that being said if that WAS Brady taking that hit you would have seen a flag and fine...of that I have no doubt.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

Had it been one of our guys, everyone would have been cheering an excellently executed tackle. Good play, 'kong.

  • Trade Hester. He still has market value.

  • Tice needs to design a few cut back blocks on Suh in the second half. The asshole tries to hurt people every chance he gets.

  • BTW, what happened to the protection? The last few series Detroit has been in the backfield like almost immediatelly...

  • Think maybe Cutty was going for a personal foul on that and it didn't work.

  • Can't wait til Suh burns in a car crash.

  • Tillman should start his own bakery. He's a turnover machine.

  • Nice.

  • In reply to Shady:

Yeah, I've used that joke a lot. Which is awesome, because Peanut keeps giving me reason to use it.

  • HUGE TO by Briggs if it stands. The defense is BALLING OUT.

  • In reply to Shady:

Yeah, Detroit's lines have definitely done some good adjustments, but the Bears' D is playing fantastic football. Best-in-league football.

  • How was that hit by Suh not unnecessary roughness?

    Whoa, fuck that. Bears ball.

  • In reply to Crunch Buttsteak:

    Pending review.

  • They keep bringing up the Eagles. WE ARE NOT THE EAGLES.

  • The Dude hates the Eagles.

  • I'm really hoping it's nothing serious with Cutler's ribs. Please, please don't be serious. Please. I don't trust Jason Campbell.

  • Alright. So it's halftime and we're only ahead 10-0. But before everybody starts freaking out, remember...

    1. Divisional games are ALWAYS tough.

    2. It was 3-3(?) at the half against Jax two weeks ago.

    3. We get the second half kickoff.

Things are okay. We're looking good on D and have come up with some big third down conversions. The turnovers are due. We're in good shape.

    Continue Bearing Down.

  • I concur. We're good. We just need to bleed the clock. Can't have our D out there that long.

    Even if it's a FG, that's something.

Our SP teams is playing like shit. Need to clean that up.

  • JJ Watts to MJD: "I've eaten burritos bigger than you!"

  • Wait... they played Baltimore, so I guess it was Ray Rice.

  • Hopefully, it's bruised ribs with Cutler, and nothing more.

  • Come on Hester.

  • Cutler needs to come out if he's hurt. Campbell is no slouch

  • Welcome back Bowman.

  • In reply to Shady:

dammit, my feed must be lagging if you posted that 11 seconds before I did. I was typing as it happened on my screen.

  • Welcome back, Zack!

  • Bears now lead the league in turnovers, despite playing 1 game less than the next 3 teams.

  • That would be

    "...lead the league in 'Takeaways'."

    Takeaways: Good.

    Turnovers: Bad.

  • I see running plays in our future.

  • How the fuck do you not run the ball with Bush at least ONCE from the 3?

  • In reply to Shady:

I know, Shady. Why do coaches insist on outsmarting themselves? Isn't that why we have Bush?

  • Great minds think alike. Then there's Tice.

  • 'Sup bitches?

    It's only 13-0 ?

Nice Judo sweep from Sensei Suh.

  • It was more of a pro-wrestling move, imo.

  • Two questions:

Why is Jay still in the game if he's hurt? So we can get him hurt some more? Our back up is MORe than capable of handing off balls and doing quick passes.

Why or how is Detroit running on our Bears D? Sheesh...BEAR DOWN FOr fucks sake!

  • Unbelievable!

  • Wow

  • Sucks for you Detroit, Bears ball.

  • I love this defense.

    I love this defense.

  • God Bless Tillman and Urlacher!!!!

  • Don't forget Tilman's breakup on the previous play...

  • Anyone else concerned the Lions appear to be sucking more than the Bears looking good?

  • In reply to bajeezes:

    This is typical.

    A win is a win.

    Let's just win.

  • Un fucking believable. Fumble, Detroit.

  • Again Defense pulls it out and kill a drive it Lions!

  • Brian you be da man. Slow but sure. New nickname.

  • The center false starts. The Center.

  • Yeah, I'd like to see a replay.

  • Probably moved the ball too much without snapping it.

  • Got to get to 20 and break the Lions...

  • Forte's having a strong game tonight.

And as soon as I type that, he gets pulled down behind the LOS.

  • The game is nowhere near as chippy as I thought it would be...

  • What round did we draft Gabe in again?

  • Our D is playing like its ball hairs are on fire. We gotta win this game.

  • Carimi looked about as bad as I've seen a lineman look on that last play. Just awful.

  • In reply to Shady:

DL got a hand up in Carimi's facemask. Not an excuse, but it would've been nice if the ref would've called it.

  • So who "won" the debate?

  • In reply to Shady:

From what I read, Obama mopped the floor with Romney.

Of course, I tend to read liberal blogs, so I'd guess it was no worse (for Obama) than a tie.

  • We're missing a defensive touchdown here. C'mon Peanut !!

  • Yeah, I had a daydream that Peanut & Briggs both extended their streaks this week.

  • Stupid fucking penalties...offense needs to get their shit together, the defense has got to be getting tired.

  • I'm missing half the fucking game cuz the internet is so choppy.....

  • How about our Michael !! Twinkle-toed Bull more like.

  • That blocked FG is looking bigger now isn't it?

  • I really, really want a shutout.

Anyone remember when the last Bears shutout was?

  • In a just world, Denver.

  • Just mentioned 1993 against the Falcons 6-0...

  • 16-0 against the dolphins in 2010.

  • Our D has just gotta hold

  • Like I wrote on my preview "STAY THE COURSE!"

  • Jesus, Bears are going to give me a heart attack here.

  • Everytime we miss an INT something bad happens next...

  • In reply to tobijohn:

    Thank God I was wrong...

  • That is a thing of beauty. Stafford lying on the turf, part of the turf.

  • This fucking defense is UNbelievable.

  • Run that rollout w/Marshall again--the one they scored the TD on.

  • I ain't super confident yet.

  • In reply to bajeezes:

    Still aint

  • In reply to bajeezes:

    that's why you're a packer fan

  • What a shame, after that great goal line stand, that the D has to run right back out onto the field.

  • Phew

  • In reply to bajeezes:

    you are a pussy sir

  • Pissed that the D couldn't keep the shutout, but 5-1 and alone atop the NFC North is fine by me.

  • Gotta blame the O for the loss of the shutout, and the O-line for the lack of offense.

  • Well shit. The jinx was on me. My bad fellas. But hey...

    5-1 BABY!!!!!!

    Bear Down, Chicago Bears....

  • Butch's Keys to the MNF game

    1. Limit Megatron.

Billichick theory. You take the greatest strength of the other team, and you scheme it away. Simple as that. In this case, Peanut will have to duplicate his Herculean effort last year in shadowing Megatron. Conte/Wright will have to hang back and provide back up. The podcast above talks more in depth about it, but yeah, the Eagles successfully employed the plan, but then inexplicably began blitzing in the 4rth (perhaps because the Eagles weren't getting any pressure with their front 4). The D cord for the Eagles is now looking for a new job. We must stay the course. Make Burleson, Young, and Pettigrew beat you. Jennings is playing out of his mind, and will be shadowing Burleson, so throwing to him will be risky business for Stafford. Young is a poor-man's Harvin, but DJ is just as quick and shifty. Pettigrew drops as many passes as he catches, and Roach has been covering surprisingly well thus far. Our DBs actually match up well. Limit Megatron. Stafford begins getting desperate when Mega is quiet, like a 13 year old boy waiting by the phone for a girl to call.

    2. Gotta get pressure with front 4.

This is almost a no brainer in our system, but it's esp more urgent against dangerous Os. Let's face it. The front 4 didn't dominate the Jags like in the previous games. Perhaps that's because they were not penetrating as much, more worried about containing MJD, or maybe they were just dehydrated in that southern humidity, either way, they're gonna have to step up. The Eagles started blitzing because they couldn't pressure with their D-line, and Stafford made them pay. If the front 4 penetrate, Stafford will begin chucking it, and that's a risky proposition with the way our secondary is playing right now.

    3. Run, Lola, Run.

I know it's gonna be tempting to throw against that weak Lion's secondary, but when Forte and the run game get going, we win. Simple as that. I have a feeling that the Lions are gonna scheme against B-marsh like we will for Mega (isn't that nice for a change?), so there should be lanes. Run games usually take a little bit to get going, so we'll have to remain patient with it. It's also a good way of settling Cutler down. Once we establish the run, the Lions might start blitzing and playing single coverage, and that's when Cutler can let loose. I forgot the exact stat, but Cutler is actually really efficient against the blitz.

    4. Eat a snickers, Cutler!

Yes, this is actually a key to any night time game with Cutler at the helm.

It's hard to predict if the Lions will blitz Cutler in an effort to rattle him, or simply hold back and frustrate him with cover-2 /zone, but I think it's the latter. That's what Green Bay did, and it was our only loss, so I expect the Lions to copycat. Then again, Schwartz is not only a douche, but a little unhinged.

We execute these keys, and we win the game. If we get antsy like the Eagles did, the same result may occur.

    Bonus. X-factor.

Hester. It's MNF. Hester LOVES MNF. And guess what? The Lion's LOVE giving up TDs on sp teams! It's like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich - meant to be.

  • I like when Tice and staff read our blog.

Peanut. I said he'd have to play Herculean, that's exactly what he did.

  • I was disgusted by the defense tonight. How the hell did they give up a touchdown at the end, without outscoring the Lions offense? They are clearly slipping.

  • In reply to TheFifth:

    hee hee

  • But serioulsy, this defense may be better than '06, which is scary. The offense did nothing in the 2nd half and you wouldn't have known 'cause the D was playing lights out.

    Game balls:

Peanut - locked down Megatron, ball punch working, just playing at an all-pro level.

Cutler: Numbers don't show it, but he played extremely well. Protected the football and made big plays to Marshall and Bennett on thrid downs. The dude is tough as nails and showed it tonight. Might want to cut the sleeves tho.

Good win. A must win. Now get healthy and keep stacking wins against Carolina before the tough part of the schedule comes up.

  • Defensive win again....A+
Offense started out great and then just sputtered and died...D
Gonna have to do a lot better on offense here..course last year it took them 7 games to get on a roll..till....

  • Well, was out watching the game and I have to say that it was an old-fashioned "black and blue division" sort of game. Have to hand it to the Lions defense, as they played a great game. Only ours was better.

    Five and one.
    That is all.

  • Here's one for Trick Ass:

A story the national press is sure to ignore for obvious reasons...

  • watching the post game:

    Cutler: what a fucking badass

  • Burleson out for season with broken leg.

  • In reply to Shady:

Stafford out for game with broken vagina

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    victory boobies!

  • In reply to Shady:

my god man. those things are fucking ridiculous.

    She's cute too.

  • In reply to Shady:

he only broke it because this is Season of Destiny.

  • In reply to Shady:

    That's a funny looking celebration

  • In reply to DYLbear23:

douche. how you like that karma assgoblin

  • hurt annd about to pound painkillers. knows he's 5-1 and just killed detroit

  • Hester has to either man the fuck up and stop letting returnable punts go sailing over his head/calling fair catch otherwise he better pack his bags cause he ain't doing shit elsewhere.

Good win. Was very disappointed that we didn't seal the shut out (looked like Jennings misread it badly) but I'll take the divisional win.

  • In reply to DYLbear23:

    There are no GIMMES.

    ESPECIALLY in the division.

Lions came in with the #1 REDZONE defense.

A loss here would have been BRUTAL, putting the Bears at 0-2 in the North.

If there's a tougher division in football than the NFC North these days, I have yet to see it.

  • Hihglight of the game and contender for profile pic (or you know, it would be if I could just do it through the site)

  • In reply to DYLbear23:

hahaha I think that about sums up the night

  • In reply to DYLbear23:

I took that pic with my phone of the TV, and was going to sign up for a photo sharing site JUST to post it here AND use it as my new avatar pic.

  • we won by violence and skill. it's on

  • let me again echo this disturbing one thing that I really really do NOT like that's going on...

...get hester off returns. I say earl take a kick when there was literally a guy at each side of his face.

Hester is a fucking puss now. He's done. eScared. Fair catches every single fucking kick, even against the worst specials in the game this year, and when guys are 10 yards away from him. He dives down to the ground (even as a receiver), or runs OOB at every chance he gets. He also looks to be about half speed at best.

Bottom line is that he's become a liability. We're going to lose optys back there if we keep him in hoping he'll hit that one big one.

Maybe he’s hurt, but whatever it is, he's toast right now. Put bennet back there... or weems, anyone who’ll fucking try to bring one out of the fucking redzone. I HATE the way hester is playing returns right now, it’s absolutely turrible. Sorry to have to say it.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Sorry DYL, just read your post above. Great minds and all that.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

just good to see I'm not the only one thinking that. If Jeffrey wasn't injured I'd ship him off for a 2nd rounder.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

The fucking crazy thing is, Hester had as many catches and more yards receiving than Johnson.

Trade Hester and give Tilman a raise.

  • In reply to Crunch Buttsteak:

seriously? Damn. until that last fucking typical bears soft D drive, he had one catch for 6 (SIX!!!!) fucking yards.

I hate the way we always give up garbagetime TDs. fucking hate it.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

That was an incredible job by Tilman.

The entire defense played their guts out. It reminded me of last years Denver game.

  • In reply to Crunch Buttsteak:

    Minus the horror, I mean.

  • Enough with the Hester hate, jebus fucking relax and enjoy a win.

  • In reply to Shady:

oh man I need to get online soon.

  • In reply to Shady:

No, Hester SUCKED. He has been sucking. I said since last week, and I'll repeat now. If he didn't go off here, he needs to be off SP teams. We didn't get Weems out of the blue.

Weems need to be our SP Teams returner. Period. End of story. Nothing personal.

Hester can still provide something until Alshon comes back.

  • He made a nice catch and run for 23 to get the Bears out of a hole.

Taking him off punt returns is delusional.

  • In reply to Shady:

I might be up all night enjoying the win.

  • You guys are being really, really, estupid and I'm out. See ya'll tomorrow victory Tuesday.

  • In reply to Shady:

  • In reply to Shady:

We guys are stupid and insensitive.

  • You guys need to get serious. Hester is a weapon back there even when he's not being ridiculous.

  • In reply to CanadaBear:

stop being so freaking knee jerk.........yes he needs to play better but give it a season before you close the book

  • I've been watching the bears more than this last game gents. I've watched it get worse and worse. unless he literally has 20 yards around him he fair catches or dives to the ground. Not just this year but last too... it's just gotten much worse this year.

Sorry maings. I calls it like I sees it.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Totally agree with you MB (read my in-game posts and posts last week about Hester).

And the coaches weren't sentimental about it either. They put Bennett, then Weems back there. If we had Booker as 3rd HB, I wouldn't complain if he were back there.

Hester will still be valuable as a WR to keep the safeties honest until Alshon returns.

  • awesome:

  • I didn't comment earlier because my heart was still in my THROAT after watching Cutty get slammed.

Thought SURE he was done for 6-8 weeks with a busted collarbone.

Still worried about what might show up in the next day or two.

Regardless, he's gonna be one sore Bear for a while. Even sorer than usual.

I think this is one case where you have to be happy it was natural turf.

1.) Hester is not what he was but he’s still worthy of being a Bear and yes he can still be a weapon. Trade him?…OMG did you guys steal Shady’s bong?? Give it back right now!!!

2.) I think any other QB in the league that took that hit by Sue would have been out. Jay you are a tough bastard and we love ya man! Him coming back into the game second half was his way of silently saying “fuck you Sue” and flipping him the bird at the same time…I was concerned at the time that he was playing hurt but I think if he couldn’t perform he’d be smart enough to stay out.

3.) Our Defensive Turn-overs are second to NONE. I still didn’t like the way Detroit ran on us and got into the red zone 3 times. I also didn’t like us letting them score…I was hoping for a shut out. But a win is a win.
