Sunday Divisional Round Game Threads

Sunday Divisional Round Game Threads

Three things on yesterday's football:

  1. Brilliant performance by Jim Harbaugh, Vernon Davis, Alex Smith and the San Francisco 49ers. Nobody, and I mean nobody, thought this team was going to beat the Saints in a game that saw both teams in the 30s. (I couldn't find one game prediction on the internet that had the Niners scoring more than 24 points.) This is an easy team to root for in the NFC Championship Game.
  2. So what's the Tebow fanatic's response to a game like this? A game where he missed receivers five yards down field by twenty feet. A game where he looked like he didn't belong on an NFL practice squad; never mind starting in a playoff game. His victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers last week may have set the Elway era in Denver back five years.
  3. This is going to sound cruel but hear me out. The best thing that can happen to Joe Paterno's legacy is his death. Because if he dies he will be prohibited from giving the kind of ridiculous, insulting and downright untruthful interview he gave to Sally Jenkins of the Washington Post. The man who ran Penn State with an iron fist for fifty years suddenly did not want to disrupt university procedures and suddenly did not know what was happening in the football facilities? No one will believe him if he continues to take this approach with media and it will take an actual interviewer, sitting in front of him, harassing him for the truth, to know what really happened. He's better off not being around when that time comes.

  • Cannot disagee with any of your main points, Blogfather.

REALLY surprised by the play of Alex Smith. Wouldn't it be nice to live long enough to see a Bear QB drive his team the length of the field TWICE in the last 4 minutes of the 4th quarter of a playoff game to snatch vuctory from the jaws of defeat?

It was a fariytale ending for Tebow and the Broncos yesterday. UnNFORTUNATELY, the fairytale was THE EMPEROR'S NEW CLOTHES.

As for Jo-Pa. I suspect he is now trying to rationalize to himself the way he handled the Sandusky situation because. in retrospect, even HE can't believe how badly he mishandled things.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

I had absolutely zero expectations of the Bronco's winning that game. No way the Patriots weren't gonna win that game big.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

Paterno has been bought off by the University Al. He is on the dole.

  • The Over/Under for Giants-Packers is only 53? THAT seems like gift, Are the booikes expecting the weather to be a factor today in Lambeau Land?

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

Weather will definitely be a factor and Coughlin is one smart mo fo. He will have a game plane to curtail an aerial shootout. Trust me on this one.

  • You're on fire today Albert. By the way, who is this greasy Bavaro character?

  • In reply to Shady:

You serious on the Bavaro thing?

  • In reply to #76 Mongo Murph:

Yeah I guess, I'm only 26. The is a BEARS blog, right? What am I missing?

  • In reply to Shady:

Bavaro was a clutch possession TE back in the day.

  • In reply to TracDaddy:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kI5-u7piPgY

Hooray for 10 min history lessons, too bad he cant suit up today against the pack, Eli could probably use him. I'll have to give the matchup edge to Jermichael Finley today over Kevin Boss or whoever the else is lining up at TE for NY.

  • In reply to Shady:

I don't know if I sum up Bavaro as "a cluch possession TE". I saw him as a unstoppable pass-catching force in the playoffs, able to carry tacklers to the first-down marker. He could block, had speed, ran excellent routs and had hands on par with Rice. To me he's the direct ancestor of the Gates, Gonzalez, Grahams and Gronks. Bill Parcels once said that Bavaro was the toughest kid he ever coached. Nuff said.

  • In reply to MattySouthside:

You'd expect Bavaro to get home from work and go "Yo Adrian!"

  • In reply to TracDaddy:

I think the closest we got to Mark was Cap Boso. What happened to Cap Boso?

  • Couldn't agree with you more on the Paterno thing Jeff. I actually think that the problem goes way beyond Paterno though. That institution is as corrupt as they come. In my opinion, anyone that takes a scholarship to Penn State is as heartless as they come.

  • Fuck the Packers. I hope the Giants fuck those fucking fucks. I'll be in a bar with over 100 Packer fans later, wearing my Bears hat. Nothing would be better than seeing sad looks on their faces today. The only time I'll say "good game" today is if those ass wipes lose.

  • In reply to TheFifth:

    Nice one Filth. He he.

  • In reply to TheFifth:

Well, if the Packers lose today, I won't gloat. I will, however, tell them I understand, as I went through that shit in 1986 - losing a playoff game at home to an inferior NFC fucking East team. And again in 1987.

  • In reply to SC Dave:

I'm so past that Dave. The Packers have done such a much better job than the Bears for the last 10 years, it's pitiful. I couldn't gloat even if I wanted to.

  • In reply to TracDaddy:

Mocking is a totally different thing though, which I will do with glee.

  • In reply to TheFifth:

That would be worth the bar tab.

I was trolling through the AFC North blog when the Tebows beat the Steelers, which was comedy night at the apollo.

Suprisingly, a lot of the Browns/Bengal/Steeler fans said they would now root for the Ravens.

I was like, "are you kidding? I wish for a slow long Packer death."

  • In reply to TheFifth:

Your wish came true. You had to have one hell of a time.

  • In reply to TheFifth:

Hope that was as fun as it sounds Fifth.

  • I wonder if I insult MB, do you think he'll respond?

Yo MB? Yo momma wears combat boots and yo daddy picks his nose.

On a more serious note, I hope everything's ok mang.

  • In reply to TracDaddy:

MB didn't have a stroke or anything like that, Trac. It's much worse. He's gone green:

  • In reply to Crunch Buttsteak:

Ok, that's where I draw the fucking line!

I fucking brought you into this blog and I can take you out Buttsteak. Asshole. I was trying to go a full week (thanks trac, murph, BS, and GP for asking), but that level of pissing on my good name is more than I can stand for, tebow damn it! How dare you use my name in vain like that! Become a disgusting Packer troll… over my dead rotted fucking body.

Fine, since I was cajoled back early... here is a couple slabs of red meet for you fucking wild animals: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rp6-wG5LLqE

PLENTY of Olinemen, #1WRs, and good DB FA prospects out there this year – we can very easily fill ALL of our critical ‘must have now’ gaps in one big spending spree, AND have the ability to use the entire draft for long-term rebuilding and youthful depth building.

If we get an above average smart, aggressive GM who will use our draft and best-in-division cap space wisely, we could go from missing critical pieces to a complete contender with some young depth in one offseason. Isn’t reality strange? I guess the key word is CAN

I was also listening to B&B the other day and they had Hub on. Take this with a grain… but he said the McCaskey’s HAVE to sell the team when Ginny dies.

    Here was his logic:
    • When Ginny kicks they will HAVE to pay… I think it was either $300M or $500M (can’t remember which) in taxes… he said this was a fact and not conjecture
    • They had an opty to side-step this tax liability in 2010 (for some reason), but chose not to sell then
    • He doesn’t think they are capitalized/liquid enough to absorb that kind of hit, and will HAVE to sell the team

Again, not sure how much of this is real, but it sounded very interesting. And while I would never wish for someone’s death (especially from the lineage we’re talking about here), if this is all true and this will happen, I will mourn her passing, but I will at the same time welcome the aforementioned outcome. Who knows, maybe the stars will align and someone who loves football AND the bears AND is a billionaire will buy us? Do you think Gisele and Tommie Bucharest would be interested?

Also, I saw this the other day and thought WTF, that can’t be for reals!?!?: http://www.businessinsider.com/raiders-owner-mark-davis-says-team-could-be-headed-to-los-angeles-2012-1

…because if that guy is a real person and not some tim burton creation, then I believe he is the bastardy child of Al Daivs, and… Harry from dumb and dumber: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VGu0B6kL9eM

Oh, and thanks tebus all the tebus hoopla is over for a while, it was getting painful.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Oops. Turns out that the Bears turncoat's handle is actually MB3OSD -"O" as in the letter OH, not the number zero. Must be a Zappa fan (OSD = One Shot Deal).

    My bad. Welcome back, MB.

  • In reply to Crunch Buttsteak:

    bastard

  • In reply to MB30SD:

He hee. Did you notice the nice webpage link I gave you (click MB3-Oh-SD)?

I'll redeem your good name in a self-reply if, God willing, the Cheese gets beat today.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Yes, I think I heard that about Ginny and the Bears having to sell the team, which might explain why the management is penny pinching.

I wonder how much of it is true? There's always ways to cook the books, and you know the McCaskey's are going to try to hold on to the team for dear life.

I live in L.A., and while The Raiders might want to move to L.A., L.A. doesn't want them. Most L.A. folk wouldn't mind the Chargers, but the last thing they need is more thugs. Downtown has gone through a radical remake, trying to "clean" it up so that normal folk can actually live and entertain themesleves there. You know, like a normal city...so I can't see them welcoming the Raiders. Now, the City of Industry would welcom them with open arms...

Most likely, this is just a Davis ploy to extort Oak for money and a stadium.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    Hey MB, sup?

Man I hope I come into a couple of billion before they sell ......

  • In reply to MB30SD:

*As I recall* (which potentially differs from fact by a wide margin) 2010 was a limbo year where the estate exemption from taxation was essentially limitless. But after that brief window, the Marxist notion that because you die the government has right to some ludicrous percentage of your legacy resumed primacy.

    *sigh*

  • In reply to SC Dave:

Yes, having the heirs to the Halas fortune coast along on the teat has really benefited society, Dave.

    Did I fucking miss something?

  • Flacco is proving once again that he, Snatchez, and Matty icicle are all way over rated. Of all three, I'm not sure there's much difference other than one poses for girly magazines.

  • In reply to TracDaddy:

The Texans D line is getting after Flacco, even with an injured Mario Williams.

  • In reply to Shady:

Wade Phillips may have been lacking as a head coach but he has performed a minor miracle in turning around that Texans' defense this season, especially considering the fact that they lost Mr. Williams.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

There's been a lot of interest in Super Mario on da blog, but he's got some help from guys like JJ Watt, who by the way is ridiculous, and I wouldn't invest millions into him. I'd rather look at a DT who can penetrate two blockers, like the FA in Buffalo. What his name? The DT? I'll take that guy.

  • In reply to Shady:

    Two points Shady.

    1) We all agree that 'Lach, Peanut and Pepp are getting old and will need to be replaced pretty soon.

Mario Williams nearly a sure-fire replacement. To me, it would be like Patrick Willis or Revis being FAs. No brainers.

    2) Melton in his first full year at DT looked promising. I think he ended up with 8 sacks. Plus, Paea still has upside, so as much as I want (healthy) T. Harris Jr, I think M. Williams would be a much better "upgrade" for the D overall.

  • Hey listen, I wouldn't complain if they signed him, but I don't see the Bears pouring that kind of FA money on one position, Peppers included.

  • In reply to Shady:

I actually do think that THIS year the Bears will make a big spash in FA for a few reasons.

They saw what going cheap gets them.

The New GM will want to put his stamp right away

They have 20 mil to play with.

They finally recognized the "talent gap".

They finally recongize the "closing window"

I'm not sure exactly who they're going to get, whether it will be a WR, DE, DT, CB, LT...but all signs point to a big signing.

    Remember, no more Angelo!

  • In reply to Shady:

I agree there will be some cash spent this offseason, but whoever they bring in will be a bit neutered in terms of personnel they can bring in and how much cash they have to spend.

  • Is anyone else more than a bit ANNOYED that CBS tapped Ndamakong Suh as a guest studio analyst (as if they need ANOTHER body on that set)?
Yeah yeah, he's VERY well spoken and comes across in street clothes like a choir boy but he IS, hands down, the 2011 NFL Poster Boy for "THUGBALL".

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

    100% with you Al.

How exactly did that POS earn the privilege (if you can call it that) to represent the NFL on national TV?

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Nobody ESLE was available, I guess.

  • Speaking of Bravaro, anyone else notice anything this weekend?

    Tight Ends are dangerous weapons!

Jimmy Graham, Gronowski, Hernandez, hell even that no name Raven's TE got a TD.

You know Tice is watching the games and dreaming about Finley...

  • Oh, and Vernon Davis played a little bit too...

  • yeah, vernon davis is kind of a stud: http://www.therippedathlete.com/nfl-freak-vernon-davis-weight-room-regimen

  • Also, no matter what happens, the NFC and AFC championship is going to feature a "Bear ball" team, keeping that old "O"vs"D" debate alive.

    49ers on the NFC side

    Ravens/Texans on the AFC.

  • Thing about having a strong defense and running game is you still need a good QB who can make big plays the passing game. If Alex Smith doesn't come up with those magical throws to Vernon Davis, people are talking about the Brees comeback even with the FIVE turnovers.

  • In reply to Shady:

    Very true Shady.

But if Alex fucken Smith could do it, Cutler can too! (in theory).

Yate's couldn't, and that was the difference in that game.

    Flacco doesn't inspire confidence though.

Luckily for him, he plays a poruos Pats D.

They looked much better this weekend, then again, they were going up against Tebow.

  • I refuse to buy into Alex Smith. He was the worst QB in the NFL bar none. Now he's a baller? He made a nice pass at the end of the game and Davis - their best receiver - makes a play. He did sweet FA all night. It was one punt after another. Cutty wins the SB on that team.

  • Well TJ Yates played his part and so did Ed Reed.

  • In reply to Shady:

    sh-dy.

I'll take that dude as our back up next year. You know instead of our boy nate.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    Haha En-der-lay!

  • fb_avatar

    ravens to foxborro

  • *running*

  • Damn...fuck me runing...the suckfest of Rodgers is starting already on the pregame...God I hate the Fudgers...

  • "With Iran threatening to close the Strait of Hormuz, which would effectively shut down one-fifth of the world’s daily oil trade, the U.S. Navy has a secret weapon: dolphins."

    http://www.foxnews.com/us/2012/01/15/us-navy-finds-dolphins-key-ally-in-strait-hormuz-showdown-with-iran/?intcmp=trending

So that's what you've been up to MB, training the dolphins. Or is that a euphemism for something else entirely?

  • My favorite quote from the Paterno interview:

PATERNO: I felt that way, but I didn't want to speak for Mike. But Mike sat here at this table, and he was obviously very, very shaken, and you know, he didn't want to get specific. And to be frank with you I don't know that it would have done any good, because I never heard of, of rape and a man. So I just did what I thought was best. I talked to people that I thought would be, if there was a problem, that would be following up on it.

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/special/sports/paterno-interview/index.html

  • I knew this kid Nicks was going to be special coming out of North Carolina.

  • Definitely a fumble.

  • In reply to Crunch Buttsteak:

Wow. I can't believe they didn't overturn that.

  • WTF!!! How was that not a fumble??? Nice home field cookin by the Fudgers and the NFL...fuck that

  • In reply to RenoBear:

    fucking terrible. Theft.

FUCK. what a bullshit TD man. Fucking handed to them by the refs. bullshit.

  • Hey Shady, 26 huh? I guess you'd be kinda young to remember Bavaro. Sometimes I forget how long ago these guys played, and how damn old I am.
Glad to see you back MB!

  • In reply to #76 Mongo Murph:

thanks Murph. Speaking of TEs of lore... remember our robo-TE... #80 with the huge guns? I can't remember his name... thorton maybe?

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    oh, uhhhh... ok: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/740621-chicago-bears-the-most-overrated-and-underrated-player-at-each-position/#/articles/740621-chicago-bears-the-most-overrated-and-underrated-player-at-each-position/page/3

    uhhhh.... Dezzy!

  • In reply to MB30SD:

MBeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! I knew I'd get someone to flush you out.

Da blog postings have tripled already.

  • In reply to TracDaddy:

    hahahaha... common maing.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    I'm rolling bro. Welcome back.

  • In reply to TracDaddy:

    thanks trac. Appreciate the thoughts/worrying

  • The ref under the hood is the only man on earth who didn't think that was a fumble.

  • Ah but did you see the color of the jerseys involved? one was green and yellow and therefore was in the right all along.

Does no one see the favoritism Rogers and the Pack get?

  • Damn, Wikipedia is fast:

Leavy inexplicably upheld a ruling on the field that Greg Jennings was down by contact before fumbling in the NFC Divisional Playoff between the New York Giants and Green Bay Packers on January 15, 2012, despite broadcast replays indicating that Jennings lost the ball prior to his lower leg touching the ground.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Leavy#Memorable_games

  • oh jesus christ ache for man... just ask to give him a blow job already man.

    KUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUHN!!!!!!

  • you HAVE to make rodgers pay for all this running about. Punish him.

  • Why did we trade 1st round pick Greg Olsen again? Oh yeah, Mike Martz wanted blockers. Because Angelo didn't draft 'em. But now both are gone. And so is G-Reg, Cutty's blankey. Cutty needs new blankey ASAP.

  • In reply to Shady:

stop that... about olsen part. Yes, we need a real pass-catching TE next year.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Stop what? It's true. We had to trade a valuable asset in G-Reg because some old stubborn corrdinator won't change his brilliant scheme to fit what Olsen brings best to the table.

  • In reply to Shady:

common maings. Don't make me take my UMP45 out of retirement to teach you a lesson.

I am 100% down with bringing in a real pass-catching TE, if you promise not to mention ‘The Magician’ again please.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    C'mon Cletus.

  • In reply to Shady:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-FitquvuVko

  • In reply to Shady:

If we bothered throwing it to Davis he'd be okay, but Olsen was a bitch. 2.7 YAC or something pathetic like that. Dude was getting his lights knocked out by corners. We'll find another TE to throw into the mix with Bennett, Davis and Spaeth. If they air-locked the rest of our receivers I could care less. FA is a bonanza this year, and a good mission statement for any new GM.

If the GM is not allowed to pick his own HC then presumably the coaches will have their say in the draft ?

  • wow. that was awesome.

  • Ha Haaaaaaa! Nicks!

  • packers are loosing today. please tebus.

  • Woodson has jumped the shark

  • Hakeem Nicks just put his own spin on a "LAMBEAU LEAP".

  • Anybody think NY can actually hang on?

  • In reply to Shady:

    I think so.

I told Cheezy a few threads back when he asked who will take down the Pack - I replied the Gmen.

Not only is the Pack D horrible, but they're dropping every thing.

It's still going to come down to the wire though. If the Gmen stop the Pack on the opening drive in the 2nd half, then it's Gmen all the way.

  • I think it comes down to Manning v. Rodgers.

  • I understand the halftime show on the field In Green Bay will be delayed while the ground crew cleans up yet ANOTHER huge pile of DUNG left out there by an NFL Zebra.

And they hit the Daily-Double today:
They blew the call on the field , then they blew the review. I have no idea what Pete Morelli looked at under that hood but apparently it was NOT the play in question.

Ed Hochuli and Ron Winter, move over and make room for Pete Morelli in the Zebra Hall Of Shame.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

    Nice.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

They must have got texted by All State b4 they went under the hood.

  • are you fucking kidding me? Someone kill that motherfucker

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    thank you

  • Fudgies going down!!!!!!!!

  • Yeah, looking like Marc Ross would be a very, very good option at GM for the Bears.

  • hahahahahhahahhhaaha
BG will win as many post-season games this season as the Bears.

  • I would be whipping the belt move out all over Rodgers if I was any Giants player. I'm sure Boley did it after a sack, but I'd have liked to see Osi doing it after his forced fumble.

  • RTP obviously. BULLSHIT call.

Matthews hit Eli in the back at least 3 secs after the ball was out earlier on and no call. Someone sneezes on A-Rod and its 15yards. Fuck off refs.

  • Thoughts of a perfect season in Green Bay seem like distant memories now, don't they you smelly cheese eating douche bags.

  • That roughing call was crap. How is Bill Leavy still employed by the NFL.

  • I CANNOT believe that fucking roughing call.

I am REALLY starting to believe that the NFL is fixing things to make it more interesting and keep story lines up.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    disgusting.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    +1

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Certainly seems to be inconsistant with has been a somewhat loose postseason for officiating. I've seem several blows the head go uncalled thus far, but that was ridiculous.

  • Boo birds at Lambeau?

    oh what a lovely sound....

  • In reply to gpldan:

can never tell if its 'boooo' 'khuuun (t)' or 'cruuuuz'. Had the same problem with 'mooose' with the bears. But given the context I'd assuming its boos.

  • Eli Manning is clutch on 3rd down, isn't he? Also nice to have weapons like Cruz, Nicks and Manningham at your disposal.

  • In reply to Shady:

I ate crow on that... earlier in the season I said eli sucks. He doesn't... he IS still a douche.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

to be fair, he DID suck. but then his running game disappeared and he stepped up.

  • In reply to DYLbear23:

    true story.

  • a fucking SECOND TD given to the fucking packers by the refs. This should be 30-6 right now.

    Fucking... disgusting. totally disgusting.

  • Come on Boley!

    that was worse than Roach

Chalk that score up to the phantom head hit on Asswipe

  • wtg Cruz

    great play

  • Let's see if Coughlin and the Giants go into shell mode, or continue to let Manning throw.

  • In reply to Shady:

    looks like throw

  • In reply to Shady:

Looks like classic Lovie shell mode, 3rd and long for Eli...

  • In reply to Shady:

    clutch

  • oh yeah... FUCK the packers. Eat a bag of dicks you cunts.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    +10000000000000000000000000000

  • terrible.

  • YESSS!!!

  • Oh if only the Bears had the trio of receivers that the Giants have.

  • In reply to NY Bears Fan:

I would settle for even one of them.

  • Oh man, this is fucking awesome.

Hey you dickhead packer trolls. How are your playoffs going? Cunts.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

better watch out MB, that one troll will be dying for a fight after this.

  • In reply to DYLbear23:

hahahaha... yeah, I'll call my older brother DY

  • 37-6 (with an extra bullshit14 points of gifts from the NFL to try and keep the story going)

  • Wow. Who the fuck would have thought? MVP candidates Roders and Brees both eliminated. SF and NY advance. What is going on?! hahaha

  • Well I hope that Rodgers enjoyed the fellatio up until now, cause the fickle mistress of the NFL has ran off with Eli and left him with blue balls so deep in colour that the tundra of cheeseland itself could not replicate.

    Now, let's go Niners!

  • Cheesy dreams being smashed all over America tonight, sniffle.

  • In reply to Shady:

    BAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAhahahahah!

Oh man, this is second to the Bears being in the playoffs maings. Watching all those little cheesehead dreams being smashed. Little stinky cheesies crying themselves to sleep tonight on their stinky little pillows shaped like cheese.

Hey, where’s that fucking tool troll who called a SB three-peate? BAAHAHAHAH! Eat a especially big dick tonight you clown.

  • Now all I can hope for it rodgers continues his playing running back and he gets litthefuckup

    ...thaaaaank you!

  • Jan 23rd What? Ha ha. The cheese is curdling all across cheese land tonight. Couldn't happen to a nicer crowd.

Once again gents, NO DEFENSE, NO SUPER BOWL. Put that in your cud and chew it Suckatansky.

  • that sack was awesome

Pack faithful head back to your shag carpet basements with your fathead wall posters of Matthews and have your fat girlfriends cook you some pork to eat

  • Beautiful... man the fudgers D is TERRIBLE...cut-back runs killin em when it counts...

  • BAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAH!! oh man. what an awesome ending. So fucking perfect. Hope you all enjoyed the extra week of rest packers. BAAAHAHAHAH!

  • brilliant!

  • Domestic violence calls are going to skyrocket tonight in Green Bay, especially with it being MLK day and all...

  • In reply to Shady:

oh shit. Now I feel bad man. Some ladies are going to die tonight... and some skinny dudes.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

and a bunch of kids are going to get beat.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

(that's how max and his buddies were created)

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Hope sombody strapped this mom down to a chair after the game tonight:

    http://www.inquisitr.com/170657/mom-tries-to-kill-daughter-after-green-bay-packers-lose/

  • In reply to MB30SD:

hahaha exactly, watch out BBW lovers!

  • In reply to Shady:

i have a dream.... of a super bowl without the color green...

  • Note to George. Go to the bank, get the contract ready, hire Ross as soon as he hits the market. Don't screw this one up.

  • Yes as someone posted earlier...ZERO Defense = ZERO championships.... F'in awesome... hopefully no more allstate commercials either...

  • In reply to RenoBear:

    oh please god.

  • Ok Packer fans let's hear it - We suck - We suck. etc.
    Extremely loud and incredibly smelly.

No joy in the barn with the cows tonight.
    Packer stock. Sell. sell. sell.

  • In reply to Jack Lacan:

    hahahahha...

oh man am I enjoying this Jack.

  • The Giants played Bears football better than the Bears play Bears football. Even without the turnovers the Giants outplayed the Pack. They just looked rusty after the starters sat our three weeks.

The Bears need a #1 receiver, shore up the Oline, and another corner to match up well with them.

  • In reply to NY Bears Fan:

    FREE SAFETY PLEASE!

  • In reply to MB30SD:

I wonder how well Conte is going to pan out? The safety position has been a revolving door. They got rid of Manning and he played pretty well for the Texans this year. Do they go draft or free agency to find a safety?

  • In reply to NY Bears Fan:

both. It's a critical, core position we need to fill once and for all NY. Get a FA if one's available, and draft on with our second 3rd.

I was watching that game cursing angelo (as usual). We no doubt should have paid manning. Just fucking dumb.

Oh, and I'd love a Jumbaco

  • Oh, schadenfreud, you warm my cackles on this cold wintry night.

Angelo terminated. Gmen doing the double-dicount over broken Cheezedicks at Lambeau...

Oh, how sweet it is. This is how I feel...

  • ahahaha

  • Kinda weird to think about it, but some people are going to blame that kid dying for part of why the packers lost.

  • In reply to Shady:

totally. (oh, and you're going to hell for bringing it up)

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Aw man I hope not, that would totally suck.

  • In reply to Shady:

    Hahahahahaha

  • In reply to MB30SD:

I will be in MW3 mode shortly, popye needs his spinach first. Get some.

  • Coughlin is a brilliant coach in his own right. I have no idee why Jacksonville got rid of him. Sounds like something Angelo would have done.

  • In reply to TracDaddy:

Four weeks ago the Giants were thinking about getting rid of him and Perry Fewell cause it looked like the Giants were going to miss the playoffs.

I am just as excited after this win as I usually am after a Bears victory.

  • Does anyone else hate twitter?

  • In reply to Shady:

Pretty much. But I kinda like the #DiscountDoubleChoke thread.

  • In reply to Crunch Buttsteak:

I guess it has it's moments.

  • In reply to Shady:

Maybe Rodgers should have gone w ALLSTATE instead of STATE FARM so he could be BETTER PROTECTED from MAYHEM like GIANTS D

  • You can guarentee they're celebrating in San Fran with a more than legitimate chance to stamp their ticket to the Super Bowl.

    CURRENT STANDINGS FANTASY PLAYOFFS??

  • My score this week.

    Patsy's Offense : 36
    Ravens Defense : -6
    Ravens ST : 0
    Total : 30

Wa la, my accumulative score will certainly vault me into the next round as I refuse to acknowledge Angelo's ridiculous ruling on my appeal earlier in the week.

  • I was explaining to my wife why I was so happy the Fudgies shit the bed. I used to think their fans were OK until they started trolling the blog. Now I'm dancing a jig because they lost. Knowing it crushed those no-lifer mother fuckers makes my day. No doubt the refs join in the double discount BJ's. It's beyond obvious. I usually don't go in for whining about the refs but it's gotten pretty outrageous the last 2 years.

I got a side shot of Mathews with his helmet off. If he does any more steroids and HGH, his eyebrows will be sticking out past his facemask.

  • In reply to CanadaBear:

    hee hee.... hee hee.

  • I had to go out to eat with friends, Missed seeing the second half. Discretely checked the score during dinner. Man you could not have slapped the smile off my face. The Pack played one more game than us. Big fuckin deal. Cheesy trolls where are you?????

  • In reply to #76 Mongo Murph:

so, are you some kind of summoner?

  • Welcome back MB. Missed ya brother. In a non-gay way, of course.

  • In reply to CanadaBear:

thank you my friend (also in a non-gay way).

  • Congratulations cheeseheads. Your Packers just went into the record books as the first 15-1 team to ever be one and done in the post season. He he.

  • In reply to TracDaddy:

As opposed to the kind that shuts out both their playoff opponents before laying down a massacre in the big one. Ahem.

  • well boys and girls out for the day with the fam..and come home to the FUDGEPECKERS OUT! • If it wasn't for the trolls I wouldn't really care about Fudgies. Heck, I might have actually rooted for them (kinda, sorta). After the last 2 years of these fucking losers coming on here bragging, rubbing it in, being first class jag offs and just generally being totally worthless individuals, I'm happy as a pig in shit (my Iowa upbringing is showing). Other than Cheesy, we should start a pool to see when one of those losers comes skulking back being the dipshit, douchebags they always are.

  • Hey DY, shouldn't the Giants O be worth 24 pts (4 TD's)? I'm still confused over the scoring.

  • In reply to CanadaBear:

fuck, you're right. I gotta redo that then...

  • As has been already pointed out, that game wasn't even COMPETETIVE without those two HUGE gaffes (The totally ignorant 'no fumble' call, which even Fox 's Mike Pereira couldn't understand, and ridiculous roughing call on Rodgers) from the Zebras that kept both of their TD drives alive.

To those bloggers calling for the Bears to go after Jermichael Finley I ask, "Are you sure"? Roddy White, technically, lead the league in drops this season, but Finley was in the same neighborhood and White had over 100 balls thrown at him. I'm sure Finley wasn't targeted NEAR that many times with Jennings & Nelson out there with him.

"Jermichael Finley: All the Roddy White drops in only half the attempts!"

While I didn't consider Jennings failure to catch that one in the endzone a "drop" with the defender all over him and slashing at the ball, the Packer Receiving corps, save for veteran, Donald Driver, looked more like the Packer Receiving CORPSE tonight.

Said it yesterday to the Saints and it bears repeating for the Packers:

Even teams with record-setting QBs can't turn the ball over 5 times and expect to win.

    Even at home.

Even when a blind-as-a-bat referee disallows an obvious fumble.

The ride is over, Packers. Please watch your step as you exit, stage left, and we have some LOVELY parting gifts for you.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

I was thinking that.. I don't like drops.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

I don't get all the Finley love either. Stick him on the BRowns and see hopw he does. Give Cutty time and he'll hit whoever we have at TE, I just don't think we have huge issues at TE. Plenty to worry about before we worry about them.
