  • First to say if we hold them under 20 points, we win. I'm confident in victory this week.

  • In reply to TheFifth:

Yep, I feel it's Guaranteed Irish time ....the victory is now guaranteed. Amazes me that most of the Trib's hacks respect the Saints' defense over ours. I don't even think it will be close. Open season on Zach Straif and Kreutz.

    Bears 31 Saints 12.

  • In reply to TheFifth:

the final point total from the defensive side of the ball will be

    STELLAR

this group has so much love for their leader
I read the day he wasn't there
a hole appeared in the atmosphere
they understand how much this means to brian
    they will cover his back

  • 2nd (3rd?) to say I read that article by Taylor Branch on the NCAA being like a cartel, and found it very informative.

    http://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2011/10/the-shame-of-college-sports/8643/

Reading that article reminded me of the Protestant Reformation. The question reformers - should The Catholic Church be totally abolished, or simply reformed or replaced by another institution (which over time will certainly also be corrupted)

Should the NCAA be abolished all together? Should college players get paid? If so, how much? how would money affect college athletes? fans? (if you thought professional athletes were reckless with their money...); should the Olympics be a model for the NCAA?

In spite of the over worn analogy to "Sports=Slavery/Colonialism" - Very insightful article.

Abolishing *all* religions and armies would get my vote. Religion and flags divide people and keep them apart. There is only one human race last time I counted, and we're all the same color inside.

  • In reply to IrishSweetness:

religion is a concept inside the brain mind computer
    there is only one thing
we are all closer than the mind will ever know
when I write shit on this wall I believe I am talking to myself

    BEAR DOWN

  • In reply to IrishSweetness:

Amen, Irish. Except Mexico. We need to keep Mexican food authentic. Their country can be a little dinner oasis for the world.

  • In reply to 4ever85:

man is a sad expression of his true self
    abolish money

  • In reply to huntinbare:

    sad thing about that article
    and it was long
it will continue to get longer

  • Also, it's refreshing to know I'm not the only foolishly superstitious person lol

Freud himself confessed he was superstitious even while being an adamant atheist, so we're in good company, Jeff.

I'll be wearing the same exact thing this sunday as last.

    Geaux Bears!

  • In reply to 4ever85:

I didn't let my wife wash mine nor my kids' jerseys we wore last week.

It's funny. As if I can affect the outcome of a game. Still though...

  • In reply to Doc Nitty 34:

It can affect the outcome, "Men who stare at goats" style!

  • In reply to Doc Nitty 34:

this year I am sporting a bear down shirt
    a jeff model
with a bit of alteration from the italian taylor

there was horror on my wifes face when she caught him
going at it with the scissors on the stove,
it was tastefully done in the usual italian style
he knows the master prefers wearing them that way since satan has had his hands on the thermostat

this years model is one and oh
    BEAR DOWN

she now thinks I look good in it.....
    as popeye say's
    wiming!!!!!!!

  • In reply to 4ever85:

Freud was a massive coke-head and anything he said should be taken with a few pinches of salt. Clearly he wanted to shag his own mother and thought he'd lay that label on the rest of us too. 'Transference' as Freud himself would have diagnosed it.

I find being either an atheist or a staunch-believer displays massive arrogance. To say that there is definitely a God, or that there is definitely not ... extremely presumptuous.

To say that the Bears will definitely win today though is not presumptuous, but merely a logical conclusion.

  • In reply to IrishSweetness:

    is this really bill maher

  • In reply to gpldan:

He looked very close to putting his hand through that tv and ripping out DirectTV's corporate innards through sheer metaphysical willpower.
I'd settle for their f-cking install tech actually showing up. 5 weeks and counting.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

    ask for one with integrity
we have had techs that want to do the job
    and ones who said
    this can't be done
    once they arrive
    then its another 5

this life were livin should not have this many glitches
a fair days work for a fair days pay

  • In reply to gpldan:

yep, that was me... except without the bar part (thanks for the link guy who stole Lobo's login).

... oh, and with much less dork (I know, wow... judgemental).

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    Have they offered up anything?

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

yes, a pat on the back and a, ‘try again next week champ’.

I'm pretty much not going to do anything about it unless this weekend blows up too. It's honestly not worth wasting 2-3 hrs of my life on a frustrating round and round phone call(s) for $20 worth. (I’m know that you know that fresh DirectTV feeling you get from dealing with them)

My floor for pissing away that much life-time is about $300.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

I was thinking of getting the PS3 like u MB (Since I live in L.A. and am also tired as hell of having to watch the Chargers and Raiders "play").

I even called my cuz up who works at DirectTV (he just installs them), and he never even heard of the PS3 option. I was a bit shocked cause he's pretty on top of things when it comes to his work. So much so, that he just hooked me up with his NFL/MLB/NBA package through Slingbox for free, so I was stoked, and if he drank, I would have bought him 12 pack.

But man, I would have been SO PISSED if I went through with the PS3 and it didn't work on 9/11. Pissed. Enraged. Mad beyond human limits, much like the Rev in his rant.

  • In reply to 4ever85:

yeah 85, none of those fucking guys in cust supp or SALES even knew what it was either... not even water boy. I was like, man, your company if fucked. up.

The dude kept asking me for my satellite reference number on my screen, like literally 4 times after telling him... 4 times... that I don't have a dish and I'm steaming through the PS. I don't think corp told anyone because they were too bust counting Kevin Butler's money.

    Just. fucking. ridiculous.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

God awful. Someone asked me to if I wanted to watch the fight, and I rather fuck around on FB than watch boxing. That's bad.

I used to love boxing, Spinks, Tyson, De La Hoya, Sugar Ray, Chavez... The only guy I enjoy watching now is Pac-man.

    Sad.

  • In reply to 4ever85:

    Dude, Spinks? Spinks?

  • In reply to IrishSweetness:
