  • I'm holding back on doomsday unless the Bears lose to the Panthers. They should not lose to the Panthers. Picks to follow once I get through these beautifully sung songs.

  • This is what I'm up against.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2042097/Student-Nazi-dress-day-causes-outrage-Thailand.html

  • In reply to IrishSweetness:

I don't know whether to laugh or cry Irish.

My god man. Do they not make history books in thai?

  • In reply to MB30SD:

I wasn't surprised in the least MB. WWII isn't on the curriculum here as they were helping Germany back then(they helped the allies in WWI). It's not uncommon to see swastikas on flags sticking out of people's motorcycles here. It's not that they're Nazis, they wouldn't know what a Nazi was. 'History' involves learning about the succession of Kings, and maybe a bit of Asian history. What's maybe more frightening - but still not surprising to me - is that there wasn't a single teacher in the school who stopped it in its tracks. They can't hide behind the fact that the students did it without their knowledge, the teachers would have seen it being set up and nobody knew enough to say "Em ....no"

It's not malicious. Just incredibly ignorant.

  • In reply to IrishSweetness:

The axxis/Japan, moreso than Germany, but .... wait, there's somebody at the door ......

  • In reply to IrishSweetness:

Well, don't forget that the swastika has been a traditional Buddhist and Hindu symbol since ancient times. So you will see plenty of them in Asian countries, since it is associated with good luck, is used as a sacred symbol, used to identify temples, etc.

  • In reply to Michael L:

They're dressed as Nazis Michael, whichever way it gets painted. Black swastikas surrounded by red and white, with SS gear, jackboots and little mustaches?

  • In reply to IrishSweetness:

No, I saw the Nazis in the article. That's pretty messed up.

My response was to you frequently seeing swastikas on motorcycles. That might just be people using the Buddhist symbol, which is common in that area of the world.

  • In reply to Michael L:

Ah, okay. No, they were Nazi swastikas too. MAybe they were using them as peace symbols or whatever, but it sure looks weird!

  • In reply to IrishSweetness:

yeah, I read up on it a bit and read some of the comments on that page from Thais living in the us. They said the same thing.

Sonds like they need a litle help with they’re skooling...

That was my gut when I looked at the pics. They were just clueless that it was insensitive to the tribe. Personally, I don't get fired up about that shit... like you said, just happy ignorance.

  • In reply to IrishSweetness:

we used to go to skokie to watch the nazi's march
    that was surreal...very intense
the stooges have a great bit when the furor's picture gets stuck on curly's ass; and everytime he bends over the nazi's zeig heil
if they do not comprehend the dark side of the nazi concept; let us at least hope that in their upbringing; and background education, that type of lunacy is rejected.
I don't know what it is like being there in their society; but bhuddhist cultures should have a more profound respect for all things in experience, than western culture.
are you going to angkor ?

  • In reply to huntinbare:

I should have done Angkor when I was single and carefree :o)

  • In reply to IrishSweetness:

It would seem after all the crazy stuff I've seen, it would be hard to shock me. It seems I'm wrong. Just wow.

  • 49ers
    Bills
    Texans

  • Wow that one dude is angry. How does he know Lovie is impotent? My picks:

    Bills -3
    Titans +1
    Texans -4.5

  • In reply to Perno:

Dang. Bitch is head coach of the Bears, that's pretty impotent.

    Bada-bing!

  • Giants
    Falcons
    Bears

  • NFC north week
    Bears
    Lions
    Vikings

  • When the word "rant" is yelled with that terrible gurgling frog in dudes throat, it makes me gag every week.

  • This is easy:
    Packers
    Panthers
    Lions
The Panthers will maul the lethargic bears, and the losers from chicago will find themselves in an even deeper hole. May as well find a cave and hibernate for the season; stick a fork in ya, the bears will be done. The division championship will already be out of reach (at least the dream lasted until October), and any thoughts of a wildcard are delusional. I almost feel sorry for bear fans. Good Luck with Angelo choosing the overall first pick in next years draft.........

  • In reply to greenbayman:

Fashion your own shit into a bratwurst and eat it.

  • my god, they're like cock-roaches ain't they coach. Fucking near impossible to get rid of these filth. Sheezus.

  • raw of course...it is healthier that way....and good for greenies constipation

  • Chargers
    Vikings
    Redskins

  • Remember, don't do it

  • In reply to SC Dave:

    oh coach.... :-(

  • In reply to SC Dave:

You have to admit SC, that shit was funny.

  • In reply to SC Dave:

i was just talkin to coach; greenies don't read my posts...just dan's

  • Must win?

    MUST win?

    I should say so.

    My Picks:

    1) Atlanta- The Falcons (not to mention my fantasy team) need a large dose of Michael Turner.

    2) Detroit- Even tho' they knocked me out of a win last week with a "push". I think the cowboys will suffer the dreaded "Monday Night Hangover"

    3) Giants - The Cardinals are yet ANOTHER NFL team with pass protection issues. Kevin Kolb could be all TUCKered out after this game.

This week would SEEM to be the perffect time and team with which to rediscover a ground game which was how the Bears crushed the Panthers last year DESPITE "MR. INT", Todd Collins, throwing away scoring oppotunities like a bureaucrat throws away your tax dollars.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

The Panthers game is too close to call. They have a top receiver, two receiving TEs, two 1000 yard runners, a record-setting, athletic QB and a good offensive line. Can Peanut cover Smith? Has he ever shut him down? Tim Jennings can't cover anybody. We have bad memories of Steve Smith, and now they've got him a QB to get him the ball. The state our offense is in I just can't see how we score more points than them.

I see a lot of love for the Falcons. The Seahawks are better than people give them credit for from what I saw last week, that'll be a tight game. Kam Chancellor, Chris Clemons and Earl Thomas are playing lights out. Sidney Rice, Marshawn Lynch ....

Detroit are evens to beat Dallas (no spread) - any takers?

The Raiders could shock the Pats this week, they're missing Haynesworth bigtime, the Raiders DL is awesome and they have the top running game in the NFL. If Brady's not on the field ... he can't throw four interceptions.

  • In reply to IrishSweetness:

"seahawks are shit again man... they may win some surprise games by teams that overlook them, but we'll be luck get above 6 this year."

    - My buddy the seahawks fan

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    lucky. to.

    Sheesh.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

The seahawks are garbage. But Qwest Field, as lame as it is in every context, provides an irritatingly significant advantage. They play incredibly well there (relatively speaking). Just look up the numbers.

  • 49ers +9
    Falcons -4.5
    Steelers +4.5

  • Falcons
    Lions
    Pats

  • Redskins
    Broncos
    Titans

  • Rams. Titans. Giants

  • Giants
    Falcons
    Redskins

  • Damn: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/football/nfl/09/30/bears.injuries.ap/index.html?sct=nfl_t2_a8

  • In reply to MB30SD:

At least Louis and Barber should return, good for the passing game. We've got six passing TDs against us in three games (although Meg Ryan drew a blank). Didn't we have 14 the whole of last year? This D is in decline, we need safeties and a LB.

Anyone have an opinion on Aaron Curry ?

Steve Slaton over Kahlil Bell ? Not only can Bell not block, he's not running through the holes that are opened up for him.

  • In reply to IrishSweetness:

agree that the D has been in decline the last 3 games. It's time for them to step it up. Can it be possible that we miss manning and pisa that much?

  • In reply to MB30SD:

i read that the line got together after last game for a while to talk things over.
I expect a good ass wippin tomorrow
this team is not as bad as it has showed
we need to be methodical and meticulus with our execution
they will need the confidence that their hard work will produce results going into next week...wich will be a big win for us...do not fear when underdog is here

  • In reply to huntinbare:

Whenever I hear that a particular unit got together to talk things over, I think to myself, "Shouldn't they be doing that on a regular basis? ". I mean, don't these guys hang out and stuff? Sans coaches? At which point the topic would have to come up. As in," Hey guys, have any of you noticed that we suck kinda bad? What could we do to not suck so bad?". You know, over some ribs and a beer or something?

  • In reply to Doc Nitty 34:

Like the 85 Bears D drinking beer in the parking lot after games, yeah.

  • In reply to IrishSweetness:

he still needs to figure it out; but I have not given up on him.
I blame new player developement on the coaches. The early part of the season should be about getting the younger players; and new players to your system; into situations that breed sucess. we don't seem to have many plays that can create some guaranteed success; but bell just needs some positives; you know things to click, and flow...that should create more positive play.
maybe he wasn't quite ready for this type of intensity; coming from everywhere

  • This. Can't. Be. Real.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

This ad was over on the right of it. All I'll say is Phoebe Cates. Swimming Pool.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

I like this comment posted on youtube

"My ex girlfriend left me for one of these bastards."

  • Saints -7
    Pats -4
    RAVENS -3.5

  • Let's see, gimme....

    Giants
    Bills
    Saints

  • Bills
    Skins
    Giants

  • I hate to say it but the Panthers game "WILL NOT" be a laugher. Cuttler will not be able to settle into the pocket, "again", and I expect at least 4 sacks on him. The Bills will lose against the Bengals, NOT. Whoever rolled with that nasty c"RAP" pretty much turned me off of the Saturday show.

  • In reply to BigDaddy:

That was, in fact, Greg Olsen and his University of Miami classmates. It was quite a story a few years ago.

  • In reply to BigDaddy:

they've had 5 sacs in their first 3 games Trac.

    Glass half full lad!

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    They haven't faced a wet toilet-paper O-line either. Ouch.

  • In reply to IrishSweetness:

meh, I think they will look better with LL back and facing a non-top 5 playoff caliber D.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Oh Lance, right - forgot about him. I wonder where he'll start.

  • In reply to IrishSweetness:

maybe. who knows with tice. We'll see how it all looks tomorrow, but chin up lad. We're through the toughest part of our schedule and hopefully our leader on D is coming out of his funk (well deserved, but still a funk).

  • In reply to MB30SD:

you know, that's something I've wanted to mention... you know how the day after his dad dies Farve has a career day... but the week of his mom's death the lach has 2 fucking tackles?

What do you guys attribute that difference to? Is it that Farve is just the fucking sports enigma of our time, or is it that he's so fucking narsissistic that nothing can stop him from needing to go and get the adulation of the masses... while lach is more of a softie/feeling guy who just couldn't play football after his ma died?

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Matchup? Who did Favre play that night?

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Yeah, matchup. And, people just plain react differently to things. Besides, a linebacker has to concentrate but maybe not as much as a QB who has the ball in his hands on every play. I could see any position other than a QB maybe having more of a chance to let his mind wander, even if slightly.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

probrably has alot to do with the conection to their loved one
plus favre controlled his destiny moreso than brian maybe

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Cutty's on pace to take 75 sacks this year. 75. I think the Bears will win this game but it's not going to be as easy as some of you guys think. Jim Miller(die hard Bears fan/Ex QB) thinks they're gonna lose.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Sorry. I had just woken up at 5:00 am and decided to listen to the show so I wouldn't forget to make my picks today.

  • Don't worry Bear's win this one.

Cam N is going to get rattled pretty good by Peppers and will start rushing his passes.

Carolina really should have Cam sitting behind an experienced Qtr Back for at least a year ?

  • In reply to WncBear:

Derek Anderson? They'd have a dilemma when Andrew Luck is on the board. Newton looks okay, dude's thrown for over a thousand yards in three games and he's a beast on the run. They'll do all right.

  • In reply to WncBear:

Cam is better than McNabb was when we played against him in the playoffs. If he gets hot it could be a long day.

  • Bears, Saints, Falcons

  • Ruh Roh: BradBiggs about 21 hours ago #Bears S Chris Harris will miss at least the next two games with his hamstring issue still a problem.

    (I added the formatting)

  • This kid is effing fast.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9a_-UKYdNs&feature=aso

  • Cam Newton has thrown for over a thousand yards in 3 games.

Cutler has thrown for over 800 and has had almost 200 yards of dropped balls on 3rd down alone.

    Food for thought.

    Bears will kill Carolina.

  • In reply to Gucci Mang:

    That's incredible.

  • In reply to IrishSweetness:

About Cutler and the dropped passes. Roy Williams has had a nightmare.

  • This band is effing good.

  • In reply to Doc Nitty 34:

Good stuff Doc. I'm gonna have to check out some more of their tunes. I love the harmonies.

  • In reply to TheFifth:

Exactly. Why don't more bands harmonize? It's so sweet. It's like they're afraid of seeming like The Eagles or something.

A band called The Moondoggies are another local Seattle band that I know YOU would like.

  • In reply to Doc Nitty 34:

    Wow, cool. Thanks Doc.

Found these guys the best way - unexpected and live, just this afternoon.

Good. But a bit to country-western for my personal tastes.

  • In reply to Doc Nitty 34:

That's great stuff. Reminded me of Crosby, Stills and Nash a bit.
