Prepare Thyself For Organized Chaos

I don't even pretend to be following these laborious labor negotiations over the last six months or so.  I didn't care in March.  I don't care now.  Once that deal is done, and it looks like the owners are set to ratify the new CBA on Thursday at an all-inclusive meeting, I will care.  Because it means the National Football League is back.  And the NFL, despite it bothering me over this half a year, is still the greatest sports league in the universe.

Let's focus on the Bears and lay out as succinctly as possible what will transpire starting Monday.  (All rumors part to Monday.  This is not confirmed.)  Side note: It looks like the NFL has told folks in London that the Bears and Bucs are coming in late October.  I know I said I wouldn't go.  But I'm a known liar.

STEP ONE: SIGN WHO YOU GOT

It looks like there will be a period of three days wherein the Bears will have an exclusive window to sign their own free agents.  Many people are also pointing to this period as a time to sign draft picks but let's be honest, most of those deals are done.  If front offices weren't getting draftee economics in order, what the hell were they doing since the end of April?  (Jerry Angelo has been dodging questions about his botched draft-day trade with the Ravens.) The priorities for the Bears should be Olin Kreutz back at the center of the offense, Anthony Adams at the center of the defense and Corey Graham back as special teams ace/corner.  (The Trib reported Graham may be looking for a bigger role elsewhere but I don't see it.)

STEP TWO: SIGN WHO YOU NEED

There's going to be money and the Bears have needs.  The Bears are going to start J'Marcus Webb at left tackle but they have no idea if the monster can play the position.  I agree with PFT's assertion that the Bears should looking for fallbacks at left tackle.  I'd go so far as to say they should stockpile o-line help.  The worst unit of the 2011 Chicago Bears will not suddenly be solid based upon the drafting of the Bear Jew.  (Bear Jew t-shirts are awesome and still available by clicking here.)

Everyone, and I mean, is reporting the Bears don't have a need at wide receiver.  Well...THEY GODDAMN DO!  But they wouldn't if they brought Sidney Rice to town.

And I got excited by this PFT report about Vince Jackson and Logan Mankins making serious legal plays to accrue free agent status.  I wouldn't complain if both ended up in navy blue and orange next season.

STEP THREE: FOOTBALL

You have to also play football.  And teach your team to play football together.

  • 1. Sign everyone we have who isn't asking for silly money

    2. Sign a Guard

    3. Sign another Guard who can move over to Center when olin is done after this season

    4. Sign a high-value, high-character #1 WR.

    5. Win the Super Bowl

  • Agree with your list bro, except there seems to be an inherent contradiction to #4.

  • John Harbaugh spoke to a Trib guy in today's paper, to take another swing at Jerry's face. The Ravens only got shafted one spot in the draft, and ended up with the guy they wanted anyhow - so no harm, no foul. But they fucking hate Jerry now. WTG Jules. Can we call you Jules?

  • Which leads me to believe we were not informed correctly when ESPN reported each of those teams got the guy they targeted on draft day.

  • Its been a while boys! I've been hibernating through all of this labor BS and lack of any other exciting Chicago Sports teams since Da Bulls came up short. I'm excited to get back to rappin' with my fellow fanatics once I hear that this shit storm has blown over.

Need Olin back...but need a replacement

Need a backup plan if JWebb doesn't pan out at LT. (Who plays RT?) BTW-In case I've forgotten to mention it in a while...Chris Williams is a creampuff!

    Sign "Double A" for sure!

I'd love to see us sign a receiver but crown is right, it feels like with any of the available high caliber performers come a low caliber individual. Living in SD and seeing a shit ton of bad ass, clutch, long distance TOUCHDOWN catches from VJ, I'd love to see him as a Bear. I just worry about the fact that he is a dipshit off the field. I've had a few drinks with him in Pacific Beach and although he's a pretty cool guy, he makes some dipshit decisions that could cost us.

    Forget about Plexi-glass Burress.

Look for Earl "Da Pearl" to have another awesome year. Can anyone tell me how many drops he had last year? My guess is that you can count them on 1 hand. We need one more big boy out there and we will be somethin' special.

Sheeeeeit, we are somethin' special. NFC North Champs. Now let's get the big one boys!

Getting pumped up to Bear Down!

    Bears 4 Life!

  • I'd like to thank the league for scheduling the one easily accesible game for me (now that I'm in Jeff's time zone), Bears at Philly, on the night before the first Tuesday in November this year, thus making it nigh impossible for me to attend a single regular season game in 2011.

  • V-Jack and Mankins - in our dreams boys. You seriously think that Owners Smith and Kraft are gonna let that happen? The players wanted that second year franchise tag to be dropped so that players in the future can't be tagged two years in a row, but no way in hell that owners are gonna give up that leverage (and that's really what it is - a big "U don't like playing here? fuck u - we're tagging u again.")

I think we'll sign everyone back, but Manning might refuse just out of principle. Hopefully Graham is not delusional in thinking he should get starte CB mula.

2 guards/center + 1 (WR, CB, LB, DT) sounds about right. We should hand this off to Tice. "Here's our cap Tice, happy shopping."

We need a WR, but DT Jenkins and even Mebane (from SEA) would look very nice in navy blue. Build from the inside-out, right? And next year Fizgerald is a FA...just sayin..

  • Oline, Oline, Oline, Oline

The tune is still the same. 4ever is right on the money about building from the inside out.

  • Every unit on the 2010 Bears played a pretty damn good season of football last year. *Except* the Offensive Line. Looking back on last year it is simply amazing that Jay Cutler was not hospitalized with a career-ending injury the way he was man-handled in almost every game.

We absolutely must do more to improve the O-line. Everything else is a nice-to-have, want-to-have proposition. Don't get me wrong, I really *want* to have a big number 1 receiver, but we must have Jay alive and well to lead the team we have.

And screw London. As long as we have NFL Football back here in the USA I am a happy man.

Clarey is the dude that was in our Lamaze class, he's a fucking house... and would be a good 'second tier lower-money' pick up at tackle… he would start over any of the clowns we had last year.

  • In reply to Norwegian Bear:

NB, you guys are on fire. What a great tour for Norway. I'm happy for you and Norway but I'm really disappointed with the tour. The Schleck's have done next to nothing, Evans is a wheel sucker and Contador doesn't have enough punch to drop everyone. It looks like Evans is going to win because he was fortunate enough to not get stuck behind a big crash. Damn.

    http://aol.sportingnews.com/nfl/story/2011-07-19/john-harbaugh-bears-were-just-not-honest-during-nfl-draft

...no John, Jerry Angelo really is just that much of a fucking moron.

  • I haven't commented since the website design changed. I notice that Jeff's commenting stats have probably taken a hit of around 30%. I also note that the quality of comments has gone down (no offense to the guys) because we don't have the same depth in conversations. Not to beat a dead horse or anything... but this new site is terrible. I don't understand how "high priority" items like fixing commenting aren't done within a couple of days, let alone a couple of weeks.

To Jeff's post. I agree with the sign who you got comment. We had a solid team last year, there's no reason to dismantle a product that got us to the NFC championship game. We have a 2-3 solid potential starters from the draft and some other projects to look at. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

To the second point. Everyone loves the big names, but let's not overspend. We do have weaknesses on the O-line, WR, and in the defensive secondary. There's a short free agency period... some second tier talent is going to get ignored in the feeding frenzy and we should keep our eyes open.

The the last point. I can't wait to see it, and I hope the first few weeks don't suffer too much for quality after the short training camp.

  • In reply to NewBearInTown:

One caveat - A "value" at WR is a waste. We have a lot of "value" at WR right now. We need a #1, and those cost money. If the right guy is there, get him. If not.... don't waste money trying to force it.

On the flip side. I am in the minority who thinks we should not break the bank on a shut down corner. I love shut down corners, but our defense is predicated on a cover-2 scheme that does not require outstanding corner play, just good competent team work. I'm sure we'll find something productive to do if Asomugah and Derrel Revis suddenly fell into our laps, but I'd rather see top talent elsewhere on the team. Let's spend the money in positions where a monster is going to have a bigger impact.

  • Yes we all agree that some solid O-line players are most needed.. problem is theyre much more dificult to A) identify and B) wrangle away from a team. These guys arent the big ego players constantly looking for greener pastures. If youve played you can definately see it's much more of a team mentality and a tight nit group amongst the o-line. Those guys build some pretty tight bonds in the trenches vs the WR's who are more concerned with who is having more balls thrown their way and how much press theyll get.

  • Yea MyForte, finding a #1 caliber WR with a good moral compass is like finding a huge tittied olympic gymnist. It just aint gonna happen. Besides, true #1s are few and far between in this day and age. Lots of 1/2 or #2/3 hybrids. I care more about a big body target than grabbing a true #1. Jay likes big bodies, just ask Arosh before he spit on Martz's wizard hat. I think Plax-Cutty combo could be a powerhouse. I know he's older, but I think he's still got some reserves left in the tank and appears to always be in pretty good shape.

On an unrelated note, I gave a pregnant hottie my seat on da train today and she wrote her number on her card and gave it to me before getting off at state and lake. She's a lawyer too. What about the baby-daddy? I'm not taking on her son.

  • In reply to Crown:

  • In reply to Crown:

  • Jimmy, fix the site. I am trying to be witty here and i can't even reference the post that i'm commenting on. It hurts the impact of the joke ya know? My nephew's 8th grade computer science class is formatting websites this summer as a project. Do you want me to get one of the geekier kids under contract so we can get the commenting features changed sometime before we play in the NFC Championship game again?

I don't know what his fee would be but i'm sure if we got him a date with Jenny Slater, who is a Freshman and a total hottie, i'm sure he would waive it.

  • RTDOLFOSAAT can you put up photos of Jenny Slater somewhere please, and we'll be the judge of that. Is she pregnant?

  • Didn't do it Irish, but I should have told her I'd be up for a bit of head crowning since that is my name. Think I said thank you out of awkwardness. This new format sucks nads. I'm off to softball boys in this 110 degree weather. Is a heat dome a warmer than average bj Coach?

So that's Jenny Slater ..... people in glass houses Jenny ..... rename your show 'Bigger by the episode' or 'The harder they fall...'

Doc - that book is worth a read, especially if you like the Stones/ Dead/ Floyd or Joplin. Mostly Stones and and the Dead though. For non-fans, it's still an interesting account written by a 'manager' who was in way over his head and by his own admission was always drunk, high, stoned or tripping. Dosing other people up with LSD isn't cool either. After each fk up you're scractching your head as he blames it on somebody else and you're left thinking, "but you're the manager dude... that's all on you". It's a bit choice at the end when the Grateful Dead fire him and he basically says he WAS the Grateful Dead. Erm ... no dude, you were just a stoner.

The Stones come across as very naieve - they basically had the mafia and the FBI running everything for them in the States without anybody knowing it, including the Stones and their manager. Keith and Charlie sound like really nice guys though. Mick is a bit ditzy. Jerry Garcia sounded like an interesting guy. The two bands couldn't have been more different. Always thought Janis was a psychedelic chick, but she hated acid. Good read though. Those were the days ....

  • In reply to IrishSweetness:

Hey Irish, I missed the reference. What's the book title? Sounds like something I'd like.

  • I don't know about you guys, but the more I think about it, the less a WR I want. I know we need one, but it's like being drunk at last call - everything looks good. I would much rather have 2 olineman (let Tice choose) and a DT, and Plax, like I've been wanting since he's been in an 8x11 cell (if a 2year stint in ny prison doesn't motivate you...).

We GOTTA take the Packers down. If we don't do it, no one else will. We're really the only ones that make them nervous, and they know it. Even with a third string QB, no oline, boneheaded calls, and first year coaches we almost took them down.

  • Kyle Kinane - Zack Galfinafuckdis before he got Fat?

Daniel Tosh is like a fatal car accident right beside you as you're stopped at a red light, isn't he?

    Hannibal - that's what's Michael Strahan's doin' now ! He's cool.

  • Guys, where the keys to the Plax bus? Because I want to drive that bus off a cliff. Plax is gonna suck. We couldn't make use of Brandon Lloyd, who went onto to rack up huge fantasy points with Orton, but Cutty is going to use Plax as a goto 3rd down guy? After he dropped 25 pounds in the slammer? His legs are shot, he's shot in the leg, and should be avoided.

  • In reply to gpldan:

Plax actually said his legs had never felt better in the interview I saw. Memory's hazy here but in relation to Brandon Lloyd, wasn't it a combination of injury and Wrong Turner that led them to release him? He's hands down a better receiver than anyone we have, and would come cheaper than anyone else. Can't say he's not worth Rashied Davis' spot at least. Burress brings a lot more to the table as a receiver than scrappy. Third and ten, Cutty rolls out, who do you want in his sights? Who's visible behind the LBs? Who can stretch the field and the sidelines for us? Who can break free and go up and get it on the sideline?

  • Lloyd pissed off Lovie and Wrong-Way b/c he got dinged up and then took his sweet time -beyond the medical staffs recommendation- to get back on the field. He's always had a reputation for being soft and a bit of a head case. That said, he and Orton had a good connection here and if not for both of them getting dinged up that season, we would have been in the playoffs.

  • In the last 5 years or so, Lloyd has a history of signing short-term deals, coming on strong the first 2 or 3 games, then pulling a hammy or having a knee issue and fading away into oblivion for the rest of the season.

Jeff, I think your wrong about C. Graham. Someone will give him a look at corner knowing that they will be getting one of the best special team players in the league. The Bears undervalue him. He was key last year in the field position game and I think he could still be a solid corner if he's given consistent pt at cb.

  • Funny Allah reply Waffle. Great Paea video Crown.

I know the common wisdom is that Carimi will move to the right side or guard and Webb to the left. I'm not sold on that yet. Carimi had to fill some big shoes when Joe Thomas left, and he did a great job as a 4 year starter at left tackle. He did a great job at Wisconsin playing against some of the top pass rushing ends in college. Unfortunately, we will have a shortened training period, so that could cause some problems. I still think the Bears should have traded up for Moffitt in the 3rd round for long-term cohesiveness, plus Moffitt was a good center in college.

The lockout is going to make this year very interesting. The Bears at least have the same coordinators for once, which should help. A lot of teams are going to be at a disatvantage learning new schemes of the fly.

  • Am I really hearing the players turned down the offer?

  • no , they just haven't voted on it yet. a lot of bitching going on that the owners tried to pull some shit at the end and that for them to assume that the agreement was going to be accepted by the players is insulting.
I see issues that won't be resolved for another 2 or 3 weeks.

  • No love for the Lloyd boys? Dude averaged a TD and 131 yards a game started last season, on a crappy team with no run game. Pick any two of our receivers and you won't get those numbers.

Seeing a video of Paea in a gym reminds of seeing Gilbert jump out of a pool ....

Somebody should have shown Courtney a tape of that dude as creepy Eugene Tooms in the X-files, or as creepy Percy Wetmore in the Green Mile. BTW - here's a comment from under the gawker article :

I was allowed to open an account with the electric company and water utility, but I couldn't open up a phone account. I was, however, allowed to name him my dependent on my taxes and he received domestic partner benefits through my employer. He was allowed to buy me drinks and hand them over to me as it is legal in a bar in Texas for a parent or legal guardian to purchase and furnish alcohol to their own minor child, ward, or spouse. "

The law is indeed, an ass.

  • Gilbert jumped out of a pool to get noticed as an athlete. Paea got noticed by fucking dudes up and then by pushing a shit ton of weight like the bad motherfucking Tongan he is.

  • quick observations:

    1. If Bears pick up OL and WR and Martz doesn't totally shitfuck the bed we will dramatically increase our offensive production.
    2. If Bears pick up 2 OL and no WR and Martz doesn't totally shitfuck the bed we will dramatically increase our offensive production.
    3. sick of "experts" discussing if Cutler will always be an inconsistent qb and then in the same piece will talk about how St. Louis needs to give Bradford a number 1 receiver to maximize his potential.
    4. sick of pussy fans already taking the easy way out and calling a 8-8 record or 9-7 record as if the great players on our teams somehow aged 10 years over the offseason and we now have team of geriatric old fucks that can't walk without a cane. Don't people realize how fucking badass our defense played last year? Don't they realize that we gave away at least 2 games last year and didn't even have a coherent offensive gameplan until the 2nd half of the season?
    5. sick of people forgetting that Cutler got us to the NFC Championship game in his FIRST year in a brand new offensive system with no weapons, under-utilized weapons , no blocking, and shitty playcalling for half of the season.
    6. sick of fans calling Cutler a cry baby. The guy literally has never complained to anyone and gets up rape after rape, play after play.
    7. sick of Packers fan trying to trick themselves into thinking that somehow the Lions made some gargantuan leap beyond the Bears this offseason and how somehow the Bears got worse when in fact we only got better. Stafford is a china doll. This year is all about Bears Packers.
    8. already sick of Trent Dilfer and i haven't even heard his fucking voice yet.

  • Amen to all, Waffle. Especially #5. They were talking about which QB has the most to prove next year, and do you know who their #1 response was? Jay Cutler. Yes. Jay Cutler. The guy who took us to the NFC championship game, improved on his TD/INT ratio, and got sacked 55 times with no real weapons at WR. Not Tony Romo. Not Matthew Stafford who needs to prove he can even make it through an NFL season. Not Eli Manning. Jay fucking Cutler. I sit here dumbfounded.

Now, let's see how this new threaded thing works...

  • RTDOLFOSAAT - We shouldn't have too much difficulty improving on the 28th ranked offense in the NFL even if we do jack shit in FA.

    1. Olin will look like a new man for starters (that's if his trainer wasn't just blowing smoke up our asses).

    2. Hester and Knox can't get any worse at route running another year into the system. Can they?

    3. Olsen will have see more tape of himself and be embarrassed at his girlish tendencies when it comes to contact.

    4. Tice has had another year with our future guards - Horn/Asiata/Louis.

    5. Webb will get another chance to see how tragically bad he is at pass-blocking.

    6. Absolutely any signing can *potentially* help us, albeit Jerry Mongo is doing the signing so there will be a few head scratchers on the roster.

    7. We MAY get some joy out of Fantuz or ...yes, Shabba.

    8. I really can't drag this out to a ten-pointer ....

    9. We really have to do something about your handle.

    10. Hey, who knew ...?

I will puke up a lung if - in relation to wide receivers - I hear/read/see the phrase "... mightn't be a good fit in Martz' system ..." like his playbook is hewn from the fkn tablets brought down from Sinai. This dude is not a genius. He is not Bill Walsh. Saw some really dumb stuff last year, with the occasional awesome wrinkle thrown in. 4 to 1 pass ratios have got to make you think WTF is he on? Running plays called with the wrong back on the field etc. It's about time Mr. Martz started adapting to what he has on the roster and not the other way around.

  • Okay, so I am done with this BS now, sign the fn deal.

What I don't get, is now that there is no players union? What is to prevent like 100 college FAs from forming a new nfl players union of their own and signing of on the new cba, and anyone who wants to play football this year is forced to join the new union? I don't get how decertifying their own union lets them keep any power... laws are dumb.

It's a lot like those politicians in Wisconsin who could prevent a vote by not showing up... just vote without them and they don't get a say.

  • Please note DBB Bylaw 431.3:

Trent Dilfer is not to be called by his real name. He shall be furthermore only be known as "that dickhead", because his head does, in fact, resemble the head of a penis.

    Thank you.

  • Regarding Ruining's comment "assume that the agreement was going to be accepted by the players is insulting"

Not sure the owners assumed anything of the kind. Bottom line is that they put a proposal out there that *they* all agree to, and if it is acceptable to the players then game on.

  • Urlacher,

I believe as part of the settlement the union is re-certified.

  • GD- The players will have to hold a seperate vote to reinstate a players union. What a dog and pony show. All to placate some corporatist law.

  • Ooooohhhh looook... threading! Wow.

  • Is it just me... or did they just flip the fucking bit on post order without any notice? Jesus H Jimmy.

You know, when I am down about what a fucking buffoon Angelo is, I just think about what it must be like to be a Bengals fan: http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shutdown_corner/post/Who-Dey-Bengals-send-e-mail-to-season-ticket-ho?urn=nfl-wp3697

I wonder what "comment and update" does... shall we try... oh, it's a facebook sign in... thanks for letting me know CN. Brutal.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    Threading working? No? hello?

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    threading not working...

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    Maybe....maybe...

  • In reply to MB30SD:

i think the threading works, it just looks very bad and doesn't really look like a thread.

  • In reply to Waffle 2.0:

    threading works

  • In reply to Waffle 2.0:

CN just told me to slow down. how can i slow down when i have so much to say? Bears fittin to tacklerape Ponder, Rodgers, Stafford soon.

Wait until you see the D line this season. Pep, Izzy, Melton, AA, Big Toe, Paea. that's alot of fucking motor going after that ass.

  • threading back - check
    top to bottom - check
Gnome scratched off of hitlist - check
    Rodgers dead - check

  • In reply to Waffle 2.0:

I'm calling a false start on calling threading back... until you can actually visually fucking tell that it's a thread of the parent post, threading is not back, it's the same stupid shit we've been dealing with for weeks now... the only thing that's changed is that clicking the reply button does what it's supposed to... kind of.

And I’m still mulling adding an offsides call too.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Oh, and every time I post it reloads the page and takes to all the way to the top. Sweet.

Let's see if they at least stopped the 'loss of data' bug, which is basically the deathknoll of software everywhere. If I take the time to post something, it better not fucking disappear into the ethos... damn it.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Holy shit... this site is litterally being updated every fucking minute... ahhhhh, the beauty of the cloud (yes, I did use the fucking terribly hackneyed buzz term).

Sweet. Ok, threading officially works now, as does 'stay where you are when you post'. Nice!

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Oh, they have a little ajax (or HTML5) transition action working too. Nice slide out threading response.

Johnny, I rescind all previous flags.

    Rodgers... FUCKING DEAD!

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Is it just me or are the avatars slightly bigger? This was one of the things CN was going to change. It would be a plus.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    * Focus reverts back to the top of the page on posting

    * The 'threading' is gay .....

    * Who in the name of Payton wants anything here posted to Facebook ?

At least there's a Beavis & Butthead movie due out

    http://www.comingsoon.net/news/tvnews.php?id=80120

  • In reply to IrishSweetness:

And then *sometimes* the focus goes back to the point of posting ... eesh. I guess some chaos is cool.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Visually the threading is kinda weak, all this white space on the page messes things up a little, but this is probably the best we'll get for now.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Checking this threading here .... mmkay ..... aw crap ... two buttons ...... let's try CAU .... okay ... Facebook ...fuck that ...... clicking on 'Comment' only

And I just can't hide it. Football is back on and I'm going to see the Bears v Raiders!!
On another note I'm buying a house here in Downtown and I'm scaredmy Bears flag will get stolen. I wonder how I can mount it to the fronf ot my abode so that its not easily removed by the wandering homeless hordes.

  • Shredding not threading. Jesus, it looks worse than Jimmy Greenfield's tiny face.

  • Adam Schefter
Player reps emailed a letter to players saying, "We will meet again Monday to discuss our options and the direction we want to go."

  • In reply to Norwegian Bear:

    dude, what happened in Oslo?

  • its crazy. First a Huge Bomb went off. And two hours after, a man dressed as a police invaded a political youth camp (age 15-25) with a automatic gun. 7 died in the bomb attacked, and at least 10 at the youth camp. But some say there may be as many as 30+ people dead at the camp site. This is just tragic.

  • Just got a bad flash back from the terrorist attacks in New York in 9/11.

The reports say they now got the man that attacked the youth camp. And they are now questioning him. They think it may be the same guy, that’s behind the bomb.

I just hope people stay as calm as possible and don’t start doing or saying anything irrational. Now we need to stay together and show love for the people that need it. I have already seen some stupid fucks trying to attack all kinds of people (muslins, immigrants and so on)

I feel really with the people that’s been hurt. But I condemn discrimination and racism. Now we can’t be naive and stupid. We need to stay strong and show our true value as a peaceful and democratic country

  • In reply to Norwegian Bear:

sorry to hear what happened. it's tough when the enemy goes after soft targets. it makes it hard to sit back and act like it was just some accident or that it won't happen again or that you are dealing with rational people. i hope things get better for Oslo. I'll leave it at that.

  • In reply to Norwegian Bear:

Norwe, sorry to hear what happened.

Sounds like a home-grown crazy, not a muslim terrorist. From CNN:

"[Update: 4:12 p.m. ET, 10:12 p.m. Oslo] At least 9 people were killed in a shooting Friday at Norway's ruling party youth camp on Utoya Island, police in Norway said.

The two attacks are definitely linked, a police spokesman said. The person detained in Utoya was allegedly seen around the government building at time of explosion. The man, who is still being questioned, is tall with blonde hair, “Nordic appearance,” police said."

  • You guys ready for the Pack dynasty to commence? I sure hope so...

  • Thank you Jimmy Greenfield, the blog is much improved. No time to rest on past laurels though. Let's get rid of this red and white Chiefs color, widen the posts and lose some ad space. Maybe not all white. Hard on the eye balls. And stop telling people to slow down. We'll type and post as goddamn fast as we want to.

Nordic, Man sorry to hear about all that shit. How could somebody go slay a bunch of kids? What the fuck is wrong with people? Peace, man.

  • Peace out, Norske Bære ....

R.I.P. all those little Norske cubs.

Anders Behring Breivik. 32. Christian Conservative. His recently opened Twitter account had one tweet :

"One person with a belief is equal to the force of 100 000 who have only interests."

Sad but true. One determined nutter will always have the jump on the rest of us.

  • Does look like a right Nazi cunt though doesn't he ? Breivik, not the Packer troll ... who would be a given in that respect ....

  • how do we change our pics now?

    1 step closer...

I wonder if the majority of the players realize that the first 300 to 500 million dollar of revenue is at stake by missing the HOF game and the first pre-season game. That might make them review the offer sooner.

  • I'm absolutely giddy at the thought of 2 or possible more shots at the Packers again this year. The false bravado of Packer fans is amusing as if GB somehow dominated the Bears last year. I think we are going to see some great football out of the two teams and the combo of the Bears and the Lions are going to keep the Pack out of the playoffs. That will be sweet.

It's a new season with new results.

  • In reply to Waffle 2.0:

You're giddy because you have the mentality of a clueless pre-teen female.

It's not false bravado when it's actually true. Get a clue & put down the pipe.

Who said the Packers dominated the bears? I will say that it's pretty significant though when a team missing 15 players beats a fully healthy team on their home field for a spot in the big show. The Packers were/are better than the bears. Get over it and accept reality.

  • In reply to January23rd2011:

    Sincerely,

  • In reply to January23rd2011:

i'm giddy because I love the game and love competition. You're a complete fag.

Go around the net and look at the ridiculous shit being typed by packer fans and tell me i'm wrong.

The Packers beat a ton of teams while missing their players and there is no doubt it is significant. If you read the kinds of posts i'm referring to you will understand that Packer fans in general feel that it is a given that the Packers will destroy the league somehow this year even though there were and are plenty of teams that have every chance in the world to beat them.

Reality is that last year is over and this year is now.

  • In reply to Waffle 2.0:

" i'm giddy because I love the game and love competition. You're a complete fag."

A grown man using the word giddy & you call me a fag?

" Go around the net and look at the ridiculous shit being typed by packer fans and tell me i'm wrong."

Yea, you're right. It's only the Packer fans & not fans of every team & sport.

" If you read the kinds of posts i'm referring to you will understand that Packer fans in general feel that it is a given that the Packers will destroy the league "

It's not a given & any Packer fan that posts/says that is either joking or a Cubs fan too.

The Packers will probably be favorites in close to all of their games this year though & rightfully so.

" Reality is that last year is over and this year is now "

The Packers weren't supposed to win it last year & they did.
I like their chances again this year..

  • In reply to January23rd2011:

yeah, i would consider your ill-timed comments on another teams blog, whose purpose was to specifically create drama, directly following Norwegian Bear's assessment of the Oslo massacre pretty fucking gay.
I've just promised myself that I won't respond to your nonsense for the rest of the year. Stop fulfilling every stereotype that people have of packer fans throughout the country.

    Sincerely,

7.23.2011 ( the day you realized that you pretty much deserved to be cheated on by your last boyfriend)

  • In reply to Waffle 2.0:

" i would consider your ill-timed comments on another teams blog "

I'm not sure anytime would be appropriate for a Packer fan to post on this blog. Who are you trying to kid?

" whose purpose was to specifically create drama "

No. My purpose is to set fools who say stupid shit like you straight. Don't say stupid shit & all will be fine.

" directly following Norwegian Bear's assessment of the Oslo massacre pretty fucking gay. "

You disingenuous piece of trash. Who falsely & inappropriately projects something like that on someone because their a fan of another team? The trash of society, that's who. You should be ashamed of yourself trying to pull some BS like that & be happy we weren't sitting face to face when you decided to falsely project that classless shit on me. Fuck you scumbag, FUCK YOU.

" I've just promised myself that I won't respond to your nonsense for the rest of the year. "

Good. After reading your original post that I responded to, it's obvious you really don't have a clue about you're talking about.

" Stop fulfilling every stereotype that people have of packer fans throughout the country. "

Like you know shit about the pulse of the country you ignorant scum.

" 7.23.2011 ( the day you realized that you pretty much deserved to be cheated on by your last boyfriend) "

You sure have an infatuation with gay talk. Please stop trying to project your lifestyle choices on me.

Keep fucking working on it until you solve it. no more delays.

  • KUDOS for flip-flopping the posts!

    Thank you, at last.

  • I tend to subscribe to the theory that's been floated that the players are dragging their feet in order to blow off at least 1 pre-season game and screw the owners out of millions in revenue. The players don't lose any money in that scenario and it's way to "punish" the owners for the lockout.

  • 1) Well, whaddya know? Reading from top to bottom again, at last.

Thank you to whatever I.T. guy made that happen.

    2) I subscribe to the theory that, in an act of revenge/punishment, the players are going to drag their feet until the first full slate of pre-season games goes down the drain costing millions that would have one directly into the pockets of the owners .

  • Jimmy, can we have a filter button to hide comments from any Fudgepacker trash? This is a Bear's blog after all ...

  • In reply to IrishSweetness:

    " This is a Bear's blog after all "

Sorry to interrupt your giant circle jerk.

You come off as a communist. Maybe America isn't for you. Try China, it's right up a majority of you & your people's alley.

  • In reply to January23rd2011:

dude, seriously fuck off. you would have been welcome here if you weren't such a dick from day fucking one. You are an antagonist and you act like a little bitch when people call you on your bullshit. don't threaten people over the internet, it's ridiculous as was your timing of your antagonistic comments which is why people responded harshly to you yet again. unbelievable man. i'm done with you, your are now free to fucking go away.

  • In reply to Waffle 2.0:

" you would have been welcome here if you weren't such a dick from day fucking one. "

Who the fuck are you trying to kid? Seriously. It's lose-lose for me posting here NO MATTER how I approached it.

" You are an antagonist and you act like a little bitch when people call you on your bullshit. "

You better believe I'm going to troll the shit out of you scumbags after all the ignorant & unprovoked shit you post about Packer fans. It's a game that's supposed to be fun, but you people make it out be like real life war with some of the shit you say. I play nice until scum like you cross the line. Stop trying to project otherwise.

The only one acting like a bitch was you when you pulled that Norway BS on me. That was typical of you scum of the earth like you.

" don't threaten people over the internet "

I didn't threaten you. I told you that you were lucky you weren't sitting face to face when you pulled that ridiculous shit about Norway comment because it would have gotten your head split. You don't make shit up like that about someone just because he calls you out on your BS & is a fan of another team. That comment was the LOWEST of LOW.

" was your timing of your antagonistic comments which is why people responded harshly to you yet again. "

This ISN'T a blog about world affairs. It's about football & to be honest I didn't even read or see his comments. And you really are delusional because you're the only one that came up with that BS theory. NOBODY else. Stop your lies & own up to your classless comment. I think it's funny that you think Irishdoucheness's original comment was the least bit appropriate too. Your scumbaggery has no limits does it? Piece of shit you two are.

" unbelievable man. i'm done with you, your are now free to fucking go away. "

Yes, unbelievable man. The lengths some of you bear fans will go to to shit on a Packer fan because he holds you accountable to the shit you say. Fucking trash of the earth some of you are.

These are the times where I wished people wouldn't be able to hide behind the anonymity of their screen names. People need to held accountable for the shit they say.

  • In reply to January23rd2011:

if you had to be accountable you would'nt even be here in the first place since by your own admission you are a dick that likes to provoke people. Go ahead and look back in your posts to pick out your exact words from a couple of months ago. your entire justification is bull and the post above is garbage. Whether i agree with Irish's post is irrelevant. I was responding directly to your post and it was bullshit. Then you go and threaten yet again. Threaten me with bodily harm???? Threaten to split my head???
You are not here for anything constructive and your false sense of outrage over the fact that i thought the timing of your comments is laughable.

  • In reply to Waffle 2.0:

" if you had to be accountable you would'nt even be here in the first place since by your own admission you are a dick that likes to provoke people. "

Don't project your pussification in the real world on me. I'm not afraid to tell people what the deal is on here or in the real world. I can handle my own.

You say stupid shit & you get trolled. It doesn't have to be like that, but ultimately you douche bags & your posts are what dictate how I post. DO YOU NOT GET THAT? If I come here & read you saying stupid shit about the Packers or their fans UNPROVOKED then you better believe I'm going to troll your ass.

You don't say shit to someone about Norway like you did when it's CLEARLY NOT TRUE. You were clearly grasping at straws because you were mad that I said the Packers dynasty was going to commence. That type of shit gets people hurt in the real world when they lie to cut down someone's character like that.

  • In reply to January23rd2011:

it wasn't about your character you incredible fuck, it was about your timing. we all knew you would be a cocksucker antagonist sooner or later , i was just commenting on the irony of when you decided to do it.

I have to believe you didn't do it on purpose. i just thought it was poetic justice that it went down at the same time we were inquiring of a guy what the deal was. how does that shit get people hurt? you keep misinterpreting me and putting words in my mouth, then you start calling for fights based on the fact that you can't fucking read.

  • In reply to January23rd2011:

ok, I wasn't going to give you the time of day on this whole thing, but you just lost all credibility internet tough guy. You cant fucking be serious?

Did you realty just threaten a guy you have no clue about... over the interweb? I honestly don't know any bad asses that find the need to do gay shit like that... and the guys who think they are bad asses and do it, are really just bullies who've just never been called on their bluff by the wrong guy. Max, that has to be you, you meathead of a fucking douchebag. Jesus dude, grow up.

That was so fucking weak dude, honestly gay. If you'resuch a tough guy, why don't you go to a bears home game and throw down in the parking lot, iGSP. That's your new nickname cause you're such a badass dude... you're the GPS of the inteweb, always promoting yourself in fights that will never actually happen.

We're all just laughing at your tiny penis now.

    UNSUBSCRIBE!

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Do you ever re-read your posts. Honestly.

The shit you say is definitely not of someone who is grown up.

I mean seriously who the fuck are you trying to kid?

" We're all just laughing at your tiny penis now. "

Seriously what type of person says shit like that?

I would definitely go out of my way to have a face to face with you. I'm that bent on teaching you some life lessons, whether they be verbally or physically. Please oblige!

  • In reply to January23rd2011:

you fucking tool, i just read your heated and super gay response to my post a little closer.

    1. I'm not sure anytime would be appropriate for a Packer fan to post on this blog. Who are you trying to kid?
A: Are you fucking joking? It's been reiterated countless times that any football fan is welcome here to talk football unless they are a total fucking douchebag antagonist whose posts are only meant to instigate. You've admitted it yourself that you are that person you fucking jerk.

    2. No. My purpose is to set fools who say stupid shit like you straight. Don't say stupid shit & all will be fine.
A: Wrong again dick, your post asking us if we are ready for a packer dynasty to commence was not meant to illicit a negative reaction? give me a fucking break.

    3. You disingenuous piece of trash. Who falsely & inappropriately projects something like that on someone because their a fan of another team?
A: are you serious? do you not have the courage to admit that the timing of your provocation was absolutely terrible? Why is it so bad that someone calls you out for being a fucking dick...and at the most inopportune time at that?

    4. Good. After reading your original post that I responded to, it's obvious you really don't have a clue about you're talking about.
A: which part don't i have a clue about jerk? the part where i find it amusing that pack fans think they are going to run through the league or the part where i said the Bears, Packers and Lions were going to play some great football this year? which one offended your football sensibiliities so god damn much?

If you want people to start treating you with respect start by being respectful yourself. If you don't want to get attacked don't attack first. If you think I am wrong for calling you out on your bullshit along with 6 other guys maybe it's you that has the issue and not the multiple people that find you inflammatory, antagonistic and annoying as fuck when you complain about your treatment after you give people no reason to treat you any other way. Go away.

Also, as an irishman myself let me say that it is the ultimate form of cowardice to threaten another man when you know there is no recourse to be had.

  • In reply to Waffle 2.0:

and the best part is that you threaten a man's life because he said the timing of your inflammatory post was bad???

Get some perspective. Stop trolling to start shit. Stop acting offended when people call you on it.

I told a packer blogger that i thought the Bears, Lions and Packers were going to play some great football this year and was told that no one gave a shit what i thought. I didn't go postal and threaten his life or cry about it like a bitch. I just realized that there are some places that don't want to have good conversations about football and i won't be going back there. I won't troll it like a little bitch under the cover of the internet. I'm going to let them do their thing because it was obvious i wasn't wanted there no matter how much credit i gave the packers. move on fag and change your screen name. remember we talked about how the very nature of it was meant to piss people off. it makes it hard for me to take your posts seriously about how ridiculous people can be. get over your sense of outrage, it is misplaced.

  • In reply to Waffle 2.0:

" and the best part is that you threaten a man's life because he said the timing of your inflammatory post was bad??? '

I threatened your life? You're as jaded and disingenuous as they come.

" I told a packer blogger that i thought the Bears, Lions and Packers were going to play some great football this year and was told that no one gave a shit what i thought. "

Stop lying. You're starting to come off as a compulsive.

" I didn't go postal and threaten his life or cry about it like a bitch "

Stop the condescending BS. You tried to turn comments about football into something about Norway you lying piece of shit scum.

" I won't troll it like a little bitch under the cover of the internet. "

SEND JEFF HUGHES THE EMAIL. I'll be waiting for the email & THEN we can see who will need cover up. MAN UP.

You need to taught some life lessons. Whether it be through verbals or physicals. PLEASE have Jeff Hughes set something up.

  • In reply to January23rd2011:

you didn't threaten my family or my career so there is no fight because fights like that end badly for everyone. You are a hypocrite but that is no crime and ultimately there is no harm in it. it is almost hysterical that you are reacting like this.

You think that me telling you that your attempt at trolling had bad timing deserves you acting like a violent lunatic? You read to much into it. Your attempt at trolling had bad timing dude deal with it.

PLEASE stop acting like douchebag and stop yourself. I'm a grown man and have taught and have been taught my lessons already. Read my posts before your faggot ass got here. I like talking about free agency, not seeing how much i can piss people off. time to stop it nameless faceless bully.

  • " 1. I'm not sure anytime would be appropriate for a Packer fan to post on this blog. Who are you trying to kid? "

You stupid fuck! Why say otherwise like you did earlier. Like I said you act like this is war & I'm trying to take you out. You're so fucking warped it's UNFUCKINGREAL.

" A: Are you fucking joking? It's been reiterated countless times that any football fan is welcome here to talk football "

Yet you've said otherwise how many times you fickle prick.

" unless they are a total fucking douchebag antagonist whose posts are only meant to instigate. "

You do realize the responses you get from me are usually in response to some dumb ass shit one you degenerate fucks posted about the Packers or their fans.

" You've admitted it yourself that you are that person you fucking jerk. "

If my original post gets your blood boiling that much then you are one fucked up person in NEED of SERIOUS help.

" 2. No. My purpose is to set fools who say stupid shit like you straight. Don't say stupid shit & all will be fine. A: Wrong again dick, your post asking us if we are ready for a packer dynasty to commence was not meant to illicit a negative reaction? give me a fucking break."

My original post was a playful jab and anyone in their right mind could see that. It was harmless. You say don't say stupid shit but your first post that I responded to was full with STUPID. Recognize, son.

" A: are you serious? do you not have the courage to admit that the timing of your provocation was absolutely terrible? Why is it so bad that someone calls you out for being a fucking dick...and at the most inopportune time at that? "

You stupid piece of worthless shit. You act like I came on here & ripped the Norwegian people. You really are a trashy person for trying to put that on me. If you want to be honest you're the one being disrespectful to Norwegian Bear for even bringing that shit. What type of person makes something like up just because I typed " you guys ready for the Packer dynasty to commence? Who. really, WHO? SCUM OF THE EARTH. that's who.

" If you want people to start treating you with respect start by being respectful yourself. "

BULL SHIT! Do you read the shit you & your fans post on here without any Packer fans posting. It's clear majority of this place has NO RESPECT for the Packers or their fans. If you think I'm going to show respect to people who are anything but that then you're out of your fucking mind(that much has already been established).

" If you don't want to get attacked don't attack first. "

BULL SHIT AGAIN. I attack because I read ignorant shit first. Right or wrong that's the truth whether you believe it or not.

" If you think I am wrong for calling you out on your bullshit along with 6 other guys maybe it's you that has the issue and not the multiple people that find you inflammatory, antagonistic and annoying as fuck when you complain about your treatment after you give people no reason to treat you any other way. "

Where are these other 5 guys, you lying bitch? Where are they? I count Irish as one of them but that trash box is as ignorant as they come. Where are the other guys? I'm inflammatory, antagonistic, & annoying to you shit bags BECAUSE of the ignorant & UNPROVOKED shit you trash post on here. It's really that simple.

" Also, as an irishman myself let me say that it is the ultimate form of cowardice to threaten another man when you know there is no recourse to be had. "

I wasn't threatening you for shit.

    I'm a coward, ey?

I live in Chicago. We can set something up through Jeff Hughes. We don't even have to have each others personal info to meet up. It could be anonymous face to face somewhere in Chicago set up through Jeff Hughes emailing both of us. Then we could see who the coward is. Seriously.

  • In reply to January23rd2011:

BBBBAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAH.... oh yeah, this is Max...

My god, all packer fans can be such fucking similarly huge bags... can they???

If I didn't think this cunt would bring a gun and 10 friends, I'd say fuck him up Johnny.

    Max....UNSUBSCRIBE!!!

  • In reply to January23rd2011:

dude, you do know that i posted your comments with my corresponding answers don't you?

You are a coward for threatening people through the internet. You are an idiot if you think I would throw away a salary and family like mine with kids to fight you because you are the biggest hypocrite i've ever encountered. I don't fight anymore. I like my job, my wife, my kids, the Bears, the opera and blogging about my interests. You like to start shit and are a bully.

You've reached a new low, man sitting behind computer threatening people, being outraged by a simple observation and trying to set up fights at the park. Put this energy into your career and your family and stop being a fuckstick.

  • In reply to Waffle 2.0:

SEND THE FUCKING EMAIL TO JEFF HUGHES. Put your money where your mouth is you bitch made punk.

I'M TRYING TO ELIMINATE THE INTERNET WALL BETWEEN US. PLEASE HELP ME MAKE THAT HAPPEN!

  • In reply to January23rd2011:

money where my mouth is? you act the fool and then i'm the punk because i don't want to fight you to the death in some alley? Were you fucking abused in military school or some shit? What the fuck is wrong with you?

I'll tell you what pal, if you re-read all of the posts, comprehend them completely, still think i'm in the wrong so completely based off my comment that i thought the timing of your trolling was terrible that it requires some sort of showdown then we can do it.

I will notify Jeff Hughes the moment that i lose my job, see my wife and kids killed in car accident and find out that i have cancer. Then and only then, after i find out that i literally have nothing else to live for, I will fight you, fellow internet blogger and violent packer fan based off of your outrage of my view that you may have been in the wrong and that your normal piss poor behavior on the web may have occurred at a less than opportune time, namely right after Norway Bear was describing to me the events that were unfolding in Oslo. Got it pal? get a fucking hold of yourself. I didn't say you were hitler and that you planned the attacks, but you wouldn't know it by your jersey shore response.
Jeff, did you get that ? i will be fighting Max in my old lynn dickey jersey and bears winter hat and Max will have carved Jan 23 2011 into his massive chest.

  • In reply to January23rd2011:

please acknowledge that i was posting your comments and responding to them. it got you pretty angry to see your comments coming out of my mouth because it made me look like i was contradicting myself which i surely was not. my points are valid. my points. i'll say it again yard ape. my points. read my points and also read my responses to your points. make sure to separate the two. i put a letter A: next to my response to your point so you wouldn't get confused but i guess that didn't work.

  • In reply to January23rd2011:

Maybe you should eliminate the wall between your brain lobes. I suggest a soldering iron.

  • this just in:

The word out of Green Bay is that massive DT Howard Green, who became a key cog on the defensive line last season after being picked off the waiver wire in late October, is currently tipping the scales between 350-355 pounds. Holy Shit that is huge.

The Vikings quietly are growing concerned about the ability to retain WR Sidney Rice.

Cutler dumps Cavillari. This could be a good thing.

Multiple sources saying lockout ending tomorrow.

  • In reply to Waffle 2.0:

355 - he's going to shit a whole cow any day now.

  • For the record, my money is on MB30 to take down the title.

That entire exchange was too much. Life lessons?

OK, Jay, take out your angst over dumping a reality star and turn it into a Pro Bowl season.
And NFLPA, quit fucking around and reorg. I have been on your side this entire time, but most of your members won't read the back of the menu, much less the detailed CBA. Waiting for 1900 members to form an opinion now, after a summer of this shit, is a little hard to take seriously.

  • Free agent SLB Pisa Tinoisamoa (knee) surgery would be "limited at best" in training camp if re-signed by the Bears.Tinoisamoa's right knee operation may have been more serious than he or the team let on. The Bears are interested in retaining Tinoisamoa, but they may have to secure insurance because of the medical risk. The Chicago Tribune suggests ex-Seahawks LB Leroy Hill. In-house free agent Nick Roach is another option.

Roach or FA vet as SLB and PIsa as backup on the cheap as he mends? i'll take it.

Just some Cutler highlights. Look what he does with our shit line and no weapons. give him something and watch him become a top 7 qb talent.

  • Wow. Just wow.

Jeff, we have to do something about these blog-hijackers. I got booted off a Packer site once just for making a football-related comment and didn't even insult anybody. I may even have called Aaron Rodgers a very good quarterback (bless me father for I have sinned ...)

The fact that this ducheyne is paying such close attention to a blog about a team he doesn't even support, combined with the viciousness displayed points at a borderline personality who is not going to go away. Surely censorship is not a bad thing in this case? If this continues, then there will be those of us who have better things to do because they can't be bothered wading through all the BS and the psycho wins .....

    Semi football-related
    =================

I just wanted to say that my opinion of Jay Cutler has infinitely improved and I'm glad the fog has lifted. You're young, rich and should remain single and carefree for years to come. Go fill your boots golden boy, I feel a pro bowl season coming on .....

  • In reply to MB30SD:

I'm confused MB - isn't this what happened last week? They came to some sort of agreement, he went back to the players with it, they couldn't vote it through ...?

Waffle - I don't think they'll re-sign Pisa because of the injury-itis thing. And is it true that Briggsy and Urlacher are the only two linebackers under contract right now? It certainly won't be boring when the cheque books come out ....

  • In reply to MB30SD:

thank god we're finally here. Baseball has been sucking here is Chicago and it's time to move on to the greener grass that is the NFL.
I do love the fact that we get a day or so to sign our own guys before the shit hits the fan. I hope Angelo and Ruskell have been tampering like everyone else so we have a shot at getting the guys we want. i also hope Angelo doesn't use his usual strateegery to go after free agents that no one is focusing on instead of filling the positions we need with actual playmakers. i don't mind so fringe guys for cheap but we already have guys that provide that kind of value on the roster from last year so we shouldn't waste time on it.

Re-sign Kreutz, Adams, Roach and Pisa. I say Pisa because if they let him rest he'll be a huge pickup at 800,000 a year or less because of the knee.

Free agent OL badass and a WR and we're good to go. Part of me thinks they could forgo the WR and pick up 2 OL which would make waves in the NFC North. If they go DL I want Jenkins or a guy that I just did some research on Mebane from the Seachickens. I guess Ruskell loves him and could probably get him to come over.

Regardless, barring catostrophic injury to Cutty, Urlacher, Briggs or Peppers I see great things this year. We don't have the depths of the Pack so i hope no one gets hurt in the shortened camps.

I really love free agency though and even though we draft for shit I think that Angelo can pitch some bigger names to come here because of the big names and success we've already had. I mean, it can't be all about money when you have a chance to win the fucking superbowl and get paid a couple hundred thousand less by coming here or by sticking a dick in your career by going to the Raiders, Skins, Panthers, Bills, etc.

Let's hope some of these guys actually care about their legacy and winning trophies. We need a bit of help but once we get it i think this year will shape up even better than last. Better record, better offense, better end result.

  • I knew it. Here we go again.

  • Hampton was suggesting getting Izzy to bulk up (and reverse their decision to put him at the end) and play the 3-T. Put AA in beside him, with Wooten and Pep as the ends. At Izzy's age that would take another season to do right? And they just got him to lose the weight, so ... I guess Dan is chewing the painkillers like breath mints ....

As long as they get Malcom Floyd or Sidney Rice, I'm cool with whatever additions they make to the OL. And you will be making additions to the OL, won't you Jerry?

  • normally I wouldn't promote king's weak-ass post, but he breaks it down here Irish: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/writers/peter_king/07/24/labor/index.html?xid=cnnbin&hpt=hp_bn10

...did you guys read the part about FA possibly starting tomorrow???? Jerry you fuckstick, you better get this fucking right. 2 guards, one who can move over to center after this year, and a Tackle please. If we find a great deal in a below the radar #1-type WR for cheap, do that too.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

damn it... got me. I even opened a completely new browser to make sure the first one didn't actually post. Damn you CN.

    Good read Al, thanks.

"Bring in more Mikhail Prokhorofs. Dudes who can buy an NFL team for $800 million, run it as an annual loss-leader for nothing more than the celebrity pussy and global entertainment purposes, and not even blink."

  • lockout ending on 7/25/2011? just so happens to be Walter Payton's birthday...somewhat fitting. RIP SWEETNESS

  • I kinda like Chris Kluwe (check the part about the skunk)...

    http://deadspin.com/5823788/chris-kluwe-responds-can-i-kick-it-yes-i-can

  • New thread perhaps?

  • rumors are the the bears are interested in BRAD FUCKING SMITH of the Jets.

Not guards, not tackles, not established WR's but a kick returner that can play the wildcat and had 4 catches last year. Jerry, if you fuck this up please shoot yourself.

  • In reply to Waffle 2.0:

    He'd just miss anyway.

So the angle they are taking is to not address the line issues, have Brad Smith as the emergency QB in case both Cutler and Hanie are killed in the same game because of not addressing line issues?

I have to believe that is not the case. Jerry, prove me wrong that you are not completely incompetent. The window is closing, this is our shot at the Super Bowl. Please follow the exact opposite of what your gut is telling you to do.

Sign OL, OL, WR and we fucking win.

  • We are going to get Edwards, Mebane, and some weak oline guy.

That's what it is looking like..

  • In reply to Artoo:

i would love to have Edwards and Mebane but I would rather have the 2 offensive linemen from the Falcons. Edwards is kind of a dick but he is a huge body, vertical threat, good blocker and would love catching passes from Cutler.

I've heard Mebane is a really good player and would be an excellent addition to our defense.

  • It’s over: NFLPA* leadership unanimously ratifies CBA

  • i know i should be working and making money right now but i'm too damn excited and will work later tonight. Right now all i want to do is tamper with Clabo and Diehl. Ruskell should be lurking outside of their homes in the suburbs of Atlanta right about now.

  • Brad......
    Smith????

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

    correction, BRAD FUCKING SMITH??????

I won't believe that horseshit rumor, i can't believe it because it would be too brutal, too ridiculous, too Angelo.

  • In reply to Waffle 2.0:

It SORT of makes sense, as the article states, with the additional game-day roster spot for the third quarterback. But still.

  • In reply to Waffle 2.0:

I heard Edwards and trading away a 1st for Umenyiora...

But staying pat with the players we have for OL.

I would be fine with those 2. Rather have Rice and a guard but oh well.

  • In reply to Waffle 2.0:

I heard Edwards and next years 1st for Umenyiora
Standing pat on the OL.. eww

I would rather have Rice and a Guard but oh well... Id be happy with Osi and Pepp on either side.

  • In reply to Urlacher FTW:

i guess you don't need an O-line if you've killed the other teams QB's and they have the punter taking snaps.

  • In reply to Waffle 2.0:

I like Brad Smith. A lot. Talented mofo. But I hate hearing that the "Bears are interested in ...." - why would they allow it be known who they're interested in? It's just bad for negotiations, right? Braylon "dropsies" Edwards? Plus he's not 6'5 .... he's not even 6'4 .... he's Shabba-sized. No thanks. Malcom Floyd please. Brandon is still the wet dream. Osi "Concussed Cutler" Umenyiora? Yes please. Awesome.
