  • Fuck the Super Bowl.

  • In reply to TheGhostofHalas:

    I second that!

  • In reply to TheGhostofHalas:

Trac- u need to lay off your Troy Aikmen and Joe Buck impressions about the cheese dicks. Some of these cheesefucks are seeing your blasphemy! and are harnessing it into a weapon against this blog.

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

I thought we were all supposed to be football guys Fresno. I respect Rogers football ability. Nothing more, nothing less. I can't help it is some poor lonely Cheese fan can't help himself. Just ignore it.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

No fucking way the packers win this game. No. Fucking. Way.

And I sincerely hope james harrison ruins a reasonab;e portion of rodger's offseason

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Ha, I wouldn't miss a moments sleep MB.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

This just in, Bears sign a big white receiver from Canada http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/nfl/news/story?id=6090693

  • In reply to brandonpurcell:

I wonder what that's aboat. Yah, sure, he's big but hope he's not planning on importing any of those quarters and pennies. That'll piss me off, eh.
Read this in a canuck accent.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

    You read my mind Brownie.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

In all seriousness, he sounds like a real talent. His misfortune was trying out for the Lions in a year where they still had Roy Boy and The Mike Williams Experience as well as Furrey at WR.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

Me tinks Jerry Just drafted our WR. Where's he gonna find our O-lineman?

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    New Brunswick is a possibility.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

chicago has a decent semi pro team we can cherry pick from.

  • In reply to hollywood1:

Roller derby? I've seen some roller derby and I think Chris Williams would be fantastic with his arm span.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

Maybe they should give this guy a shot?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G4hF2cQRluI&feature=related

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

I can't get a read on his real size, I see him listed anywhere from 285 to 330. But he's strong as an ox. 48 reps on the 225!!! I'd love to see what he had at our LG spot. By comparison, C-dub managed 20 reps.
    Hmm.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

He lost his eligibility though. Hmmmmmm.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Methinks it may be the mental part of his profile that is keeping him on the sidelines.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

Wait, you don't get a running start on the snap next year do you?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vBLgUZ9v0K0&feature=related

Meh, still need a floyd or a VJack. just sayin.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

I've got an idea. Let's have Stolichnaya sponsor part of VJacks salary next year. We can pay him part of a salary and Stoli can come in with a "sponsorship" fee of a couple million. Every time VJack scores a TD he would have to hold a bottle of Stoli Bluberi on the sidelines and smile.

I'm telling you now like i told you guys months ago and in 2009. Once the Bears brought on Cutler they made a turnaround in the effort department. Even though some of our admin guys are retarded they will still make moves whenever possible. The microscope in Chicago just got a little stronger since we got back to the playoffs. Playoff?!?!?
That means that you can expect the Bears to improve every single year without question. Will it be to everyone's standards? I don't know. Will the team be better every year heading forward? yes. Is Brandon Chillar's hair the fucking creepiest thing i've ever seen? without a doubt. Does Hawk look like a gayer version of that gayrod Triple H? fucking yup!

  • In reply to hollywood1:

    Nice.

I hope you're right about the microscope working Johnny. I really do. I mean, it makes logical sense...

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Wait, in that video did he go back and make a play on a ball. He doesn't fit in here then.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

Not to put too fine of a point on it MBP but those Canadian quarters and pennies are worth more than their American counterparts. Just sayin'.

  • In reply to CanadaBear:

I knew that would bring out our resident (see how I did that?) Canadian.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

Enjoy it while it lasts...which may be awhile if China wants it to.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

    on the Andy Fantuz guy:

6'4'', 220 lbs (that equals big target b/c it's been so long since we've had one)

276 receptions, 4,136 yards and 23 touchdowns in his career with the CFL (87 catches 1,380 yds, 6 TDs this season)

3rd overall pick in '07 in the CFL draft. hopefully he supplants someone and we focus SOLELY on OL and building depth at other positions.

  • In reply to FQD1911:

If this allows JA to not get us a single stud WR in free agency I'm going to shit a moose.

Get me a proven big WR, keep the Loonies and Toonies.

  • In reply to JohnGalt:

    fucking exactlyWillie, see below.

  • In reply to JohnGalt:

Le'ts go get another big FA wideout but let's see what Fantusia can do in camp. He is a big body and his numbers got stronger each year in the CFL. No one thought Sidney Rice was going to do so well in the NFL but at 6'5 220 Sidney has a little wiggle room. I like that a big receiver was the choice. Let's get another. Plus I think Fantuz signed for a years worth of elk jerky and a used corrolla.

  • In reply to hollywood1:

    Say goodbye to shabba dabba.

  • In reply to hollywood1:

    mmmmmmmmmmmm... elk jerky.

  • In reply to JohnGalt:

Shitting a moose might ruin your amazing speed Willie

  • In reply to MASOCHR:

Depends on the speed of what.
Certain bodily functions will probably break records after that event.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

You'll definitely be able to split-steam out of your ass.

  • In reply to MASOCHR:

He should be much lighter though. If indeed he is carrying a moose right now.

  • In reply to sjvl:

I'm glad to see the comments have a Canadian theme. NICE! BTW, Moose, Elk and Caribou are all awesome. Bear, not so much. We need more talk about bacon. Very Canadian.

  • In reply to CanadaBear:

As long as the bacon is not "Canadian" I'm definitely cool with talking bacon.
I think Jerry should sprinkle some bacon bits on a strip of bacon and create a bacon to bacon time space continuum and trade up for Calvin Johnson in the draft.

  • In reply to CanadaBear:

    I prefer Canadian whiskey.

  • In reply to CanadaBear:

    No interest in bacon here

  • In reply to sjvl:

    Carter, Faulk, Sanders, Dawson, Sharpe.

No old timers. Don't know anything about Richter. From what I remember about Hanburger, he wasn't anything special (other than he played on the East Coast).

  • In reply to sjvl:

    Dent, Bettis, Carter, Sharpe.

If I were voting, these would be my picks.

  • In reply to sjvl:

How in thee hell could Bettis get in before Faulk? I don't think Bettis is hall of fame material at all.

  • In reply to DocNitty34:

Agree on Bettis, but I think mumble Sharpe gets in eventually. It's amazing that guy can talk with such a big tongue.

  • In reply to TheFifth:

dude has a huge maw... everything in there is huge.

  • In reply to DocNitty34:

    Popularity. Plain and simple.

  • In reply to sjvl:

    http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/behindthemic/#020311.btm_group_sb

    uh oh aaron rodgers

  • In reply to MB30SD:

I don't care how Pittsburgh does it, JUST WIN TOMORROW.

  • In reply to sjvl:

Who givesashit how a moron votes?

  • In reply to greenbayman:

Obviously you do. Why don't you go brush your tooth?

  • In reply to greenbayman:

A friend of mine sent me this:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tkbV9PFK1DE

It's highlights of the Bears new Canadian receiver Andy Fantuz. For all you students of the game, pay particular attention to the catch at about 40 seconds into the video. He goes over the top and beats the defender with his 6'4" frame.

  • In reply to TheGhostofHalas:

"Stretches Ouuut" at 50 seconds... I love the Canadian raise. The trick is to put your tongue at the top of your mouth as you say the "ow" sound.

  • In reply to greenbayman:

RICHARD DENT IS FINALLY IN THE HALL OF FAME!!!!! CONGRATS RICH!!!

    #BearDown

  • In reply to greenbayman:

    YAY RICHARD DENT!!!

    It's about time!!!

  • In reply to greenbayman:

    Hmmmm....

Which team has the most players in the Hall of Fame?

    thassright.

  • In reply to sjvl:

    Yeah baby!

  • In reply to sjvl:

Hell Yes! Richard got in. That's fucking sweet. Congratulations Richard.

  • In reply to sjvl:

Cris Carter got screwed again. Should be in there.

  • In reply to sjvl:

Another loser steps forward. But he 'don't want to talk about it no more'.

    http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/nfl/news/story?id=6090607&campaign=rss&source=NFLHeadlines

  • In reply to sjvl:

    whatever... so over it.

You got fucking wholly and completely owned by that same guy just a few short days before your comment dude (4 TDs

  • In reply to MB30SD:

I wish I were over it, but I am clearly not. I guess I enjoy watching them try to worm out of it.

  • In reply to sjvl:

Boy I hope the Packers win the SB tommorrow...not because I like them (more than I like the Steelers though!)that much...but what my concern is that that SB trophy is pretty old and delecate so if it's up in Green Bay...NEXT YEAR...it will only have to come to Chicago and that will lessen any damage that could be done to it in transit.

  • In reply to RogerMinton:

I understand that the Bears have only been able to win one LOMBARDI Trophy, so your knowledge is limited. But you should be aware that the trophy does not travel. That pitiful trophy case at Bears headquarters still holds that '85 LOMBARDI Trophy. It should be easy to spot, not much else in there; especially when compared to the overflowing trophy case of the mighty Green Bay Packers!

  • In reply to greenbayman:

and once again, in your team's moment of glory, you spend your time on a Bears blog instead of with friends. sad.

  • In reply to greenbayman:

Al, ring a bell (pun intended): http://gizmodo.com/5752827/after-two-years-they-finally-arrested-the-guy-who-spliced-porn-into-the-super-bowl

  • In reply to sjvl:

    Singletary......

    http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2011/02/singletary-future-bears-coach-you-never-know.html

  • In reply to sjvl:

Please God No! I love Mike...one of my two favorite Bears of all time, but his sideline antics and his coaching acumen in San Fran just scare me.

  • In reply to buckbear:

Agreed. Maybe being a position coach will suit him better. I love him - but I DO NOT want him as our head coach.

  • In reply to sjvl:

How Charles Haley isnt in the Hall of Fame, just baffles me.

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

He was a big time player, especially in the big games.

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

Fres, he isnt in the hall because he was volatile and a psycho. He would piss in teammates cars, and would "box his clown" in the locker room. Not gonna get you elected to the hall of fame if you make a habit out of jerking off in the locker room in front of the teammates.

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

    http://kissingsuzykolber.uproxx.com/2008/08/charles-haley-would-like-you-to-watch-him-masturbate.html

    Heres a story about him.

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

    wow Murph... that was... disturbing.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

kind of thing that happens all the time in green bay (except without the big penis part)

  • In reply to MB30SD:

I really wish I hadn't read that article. What a sick bastard.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

I'm with you, Trac. Why would they put up with that?

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Jeff, only my second time actually listening to the show... the Packer Dance was fucking hilarious.

    Speaking of fucking hilarious: http://video.yahoo.com/watch/8729284/24080174

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Oh and btw way Viva... you're dead to me.

  • In reply to brandonpurcell:

Alright! Our troubles are over. Nothing spells NFL success like 6 T.D.'s by a white guy on a ridiculously large Canadian field, eh? (See how I did that?)

  • In reply to DocNitty34:

this might satisfy my man craving for Matt Jones

  • In reply to DocNitty34:

Jays target window just quadrupled over night.

  • In reply to DocNitty34:

He was good up here. I'm guessing not so good down there.

  • In reply to brandonpurcell:

    We've all been MIKE HAAS'D.

  • In reply to Crowned:

Haas's hands literally would not let him drop a ball. He was 6'1 though. Babba Fantush is 6'4 so if he has hands like Haas and is 6'4 and is stronger than Rideau let's give him a shot in camp. Loved Haas. Bennett took care of that Mike Haas talk fast though didn't he.

  • In reply to brandonpurcell:

What is a 'slotback'? He's cute. Eh!

  • In reply to sjvl:

    gross. common!

  • In reply to MB30SD:

I can say that, MB, dammit.

And what is a slotback? I googled him and that was the description of his position.

  • In reply to sjvl:

A slotback is used in a formation with tailback, and/or a fullback. He usually lines up one step back and to the right of the tight end or tackle. I'm sure it's just the same thing as a slot reciever. lines up off the line of scrimmage, inside of one of the outside recievers. I played it in junior high. It's like a hybrid reciever/running back. At least it used to be.

  • In reply to DocNitty34:

    Thanks, Doc.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Czabe took off after our dear friend, Peter King today...

    http://czabe.com/

  • In reply to MB30SD:

If Harrison does that, he will instantly land in my top 3 favorite players list, including Bears.
Hopefully, Pep does it to him next year.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

+1 MB! I wanna see Rogers head go baaaaaammmmmm! Happy Friday ya'll.

  • In reply to Crowned:

On that turf, it's going to go Booooooooooing!

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

more like hitting a speed bag (RJJ-Style): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1B39jMvN7pk

  • In reply to MB30SD:

But he has that groovy helmet. His shield against all adversity...

  • In reply to TheGhostofHalas:

I'll still watch it Ghost. I just won't care who wins it. I'll be sure to catch the halftime show, like the Peas but love Fergie.

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

I'd rather shave my pubes with razor blades attached to a oscillating fan than watch this game.

  • In reply to jbenton:

On a side note though, I'd groom Fergie with my tongue.

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

Hate the Peas. Hate the Fergie.

If any of you have the displeasure of remembering "That's the joint, that
s the jam. Blah blah blah play it again!" nonsense they came out with back in the late 90's, you'd know that their "selling out" was warranted.

They sucked at being decent, so they might as well be decent at sucking.

  • In reply to JohnGalt:

    She's a maaaaaaaaaan baby!

  • In reply to JohnGalt:

The most annoying thing about the Super Bowl is knowing the Packers really do have an excellent organization; committed to winnign football, developing players, seem to have a real PLAN and everyone seems to work together.

I don't think McCarthy ranks a whole lot better as an in-game coach that Lovie, but he does have his offensive stamp on his team.

I'm really not sure WHAT Lovie brings to the team except player loyalty. But I don't mean to discount that - I think it's HUGE HUGE HUGE that the Bears never criticize their own. That is Cutler's hidden strong suit.

I'm jealous of the fact that the Packers can find talent and develop it. But we've shown we're not intimidated by Rodgers - it's the Packers defense that seemed to mess us up the last two games.

All that said, I am strongly wishing for a double digit victory by the Steelers - with Rodgers having an average at best game. I want the storyline to be "Rodgers fails to take the next step".

Everyone is in love with this guy, but I really tihnk it's backlash from Favre. That is, even people who liek Favre are sick of him so Rodgers is the next man-crush for them.

By the way, if he has a bad game, you can expect all kinds of excuses (injuries to the team, it's only his third year starting etc.)

  • In reply to BillW:

The Bears played the Packers really fucking hard all year long with 3 hard fought games that could have gone either way. That is a good sign. Everyone is blowing the Pack right now but the boys played them tough all 3 games and realize we are just going to get better as well. Let's put up a billboard right by Jerry's house about getting another badass pass rusher.

  • In reply to hollywood1:

might have one in Corey "Legend Killer" Wootten. idk why, but i really like that kid.

  • In reply to FQD1911:

    Me too.

  • In reply to FQD1911:

true FQ, Wootten came to play as a fucking rookie. should be interesting to see him develop

  • In reply to BillW:

I am surrounded by black and gag - gold. I am trying really hard to be indifferent, but it is true: I am a bitter Bears fan. I really wanted to be in this game this year.

  • In reply to sjvl:

    yep, go steelers.

Fucking kill rodgers. That should make you feel a bit better.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

I am all about the Steelers winning.

    Mr. Rodgers: DEAD.

You're right. It's just tough being around all these HAPPY FANS. I want to be one.

  • In reply to sjvl:

    next year SJ... next year.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Keep talking me off the ledge, MB.

  • In reply to sjvl:

Do us all a favor and jump, you loser, bitter bitch!

  • In reply to greenbayman:

feel free to leave at anytime you fucking faggot

  • In reply to greenbayman:

    Go fuck yourself, ass.

  • In reply to greenbayman:

Only a pussy would call a woman a bitch on the internet. It's ass holes like you that make me wish this really was little bar we went to to talk bears. Little pussies like you wouldn't show your little pussy faces.

  • In reply to greenbayman:

Really happy for Dent. Long overdue. I was afraid to pick him earlier. Didn't want to jinx it.

When the Bears played Wash during Hanburger's career, I can honestly say I don't remember him ever standing out. He must have been really good all the other games!

  • In reply to greenbayman:

and the th "D" of 85 shines again!!!!

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Spot on everything about TC between the Reverend's rant and that voicemail...love it.

  • In reply to BillW:

And they have a G for greatness on their helmut. I wonder what the "C" stands for?

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    Cunts.

  • In reply to DocNitty34:

I meant to say, cunnilingus, but lost my train of thought. I know, I know, how can one lose their train of thought while typing a single word? Good question. Good question indeed. It's been a long week.

  • In reply to DocNitty34:

Will Dent make it in this time? We'll find out tomorrow night. These are the modern era finalists:

    Jerome Bettis
    Tim Brown
    Cris Carter
    Dermontti Dawson
    Chris Doleman
    Marshall Faulk
    Charles Haley
    Cortez Kennedy
    Curtis Martin
    Andre Reed
    Willie Roaf
    Deion Sanders
    Shannon Sharpe
    Richard Dent

    These are the old timers:

    Chris Hanburger (Washington Redskins, linebacker)
Les Richter (Los Angeles Rams, linebacker)

Let's have a little office pool shall we? (for bragging rights only (you can't play Viva.)) Who makes it?

There can only be 5 modern era inductees. A minimum of 4 and a maximum of 7 players can get in. At least 80% of the panel must vote yea on a player for him to make it.

    My Picks:

    Marshall Faulk
    Deion Sanders
    Willie Roaf
    Cris Carter
    Richard Dent

Neither old timer will get in.

    What say you?

  • In reply to DocNitty34:

    Faulk
    Sharpe
    both old timers

Thats probably all ~ Because the people that vote are bias assholes

  • In reply to Church:

I'd love to see Dent and Reed get in though

  • In reply to DocNitty34:

Doleman had more presence than Dent, so did Kennedy. Dent was a mere cog in Ryan's well-oiled gearshaft.

  • In reply to BillW:

Yep well said. And if we get guys who can pick up a few more Capers blitzes, or who can teach our offense to pick up more of them, we can tip the scales to our side. But to match their depth and youth is probably undoable in the short term.

  • In reply to BillW:

No excuses, no regrets. Proper preparation, sportsmanship toward opponent, camaraderie toward teammates, appreciation of fan support, and leave it all on the field. That's the Packer way.
Too bad Bear Fans are incapable of exemplifying these basic maxims, too busy praying for an injury to superior opponents....
