  • First to say about fucking time!

  • Big beautiful cog with a big yellow jacket... punkass bitches!

  • about fuckin time..!!

  • Hear, hear!

    Bravo!

About time? Could not agree more.

    And yet, the Bear-hating continues...

Today / Tonight from the 4-Letter folks (at least what I heard on radio today):

    I paraphrase, but...

    BEFORE the announcement:
"Richard Dent? Oh, no, not with THIS class of candidates."

    AFTER the announcement:
"The only selection you can question is Richard Dent."

Whatever idiot was hosting Saturday night on 4letter radio first called Richard a defensive TACKLE (!?!?!), then, in his half-assed correction, said he did "MOST of his work at defensive end".

And this clown has the nerve, the temerity, the outright GALL to question Dent's election?

The first quote that comes to mind is; "Physician, heal thyself".
The second quote that comes to mind is: "You're fired!".

    On a related note...

Ed Sabol? Damn right. And long overdue.
The man who invented NFL FILMS is a no-brainer.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

Who questioned his election, Al? One of the usual haters, or do we have someone new?

  • In reply to sjvl:

I don't even recall his name. Whoever was hosting 4-letter radio on Saturday evning. The guy would have to brush up on his NFL knowledge just to qualify as "Clueless".

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

I was watching the NFL Network when he was announced, and then later heard his phone conversation with the group. His daughter told him he had been inducted. He had been out golfing all day. Love it.

Hope he makes it to the SB today for the coin toss.....

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

I am a happy kid inside today. One of my favorite toys growing up was my Richard Dent Starting Lineup figure.

    http://goo.gl/nRPWH

He didn't sit on a shelf or stay in a box with my Bears football cards. He took my GI Joe, Transformer, MASK, and He Man characters and sacked their punk asses. Except for Lady Jay and Scarlet; he was a smooth talkin' ladies man and knew how to treat them right.

  • In reply to buckbear:

That's awesome buckbear. We must've grown up around the same time. Had all of those except for He Man. Always though he was kind of gay (not there's anything wrong with that). Still have my Richard Dent starting lineup and my Mike Singletary starting lineup action figures. They are proudly adorned on my office bookshelf at the college, for all to see.

  • In reply to DocNitty34:

If there's nothing wrong with that, why didn't you have a He Man action figure? HMMM? HMMM?

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

Uh....uh....personal preference, yeah that's it. There's nothing wrong with eggs, but I won't eat 'em.

  • In reply to DocNitty34:

I bet you were good at dodge ball.

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

    Blazers v Bulls today.

    Go BLAZERS!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • In reply to DocNitty34:

The Bulls HAVE always and WILL always... Own the BLAZERS.

    Pothead.

  • In reply to Shady:

yea seriously. put the ganja down, sir.

  • In reply to FQD1911:

    Never.

  • In reply to Shady:

To be fair, the bulls owned everybody in the Jordan era. Before that, they owned nobody. The all time record between the two is 58-50. The bulls beat the blazers in six games in their only postseason matchup. I'd hardly consider that an owning. You say Pothead like that's a bad thing. Your theories are losing their intrigue and I'd like to cancel my subscription to your newsletter.

  • In reply to DocNitty34:

Blaze on outta here, Doc. GO BULLS!!!!!

  • In reply to DocNitty34:

Ahhh. I see I've stirred some shit up.

Still imagining if Jordan had been a blazer. You A-holes are so lucky we fucked that up.

Go Blazers (Blazer love a distant second to Bears)!

    ouch.

  • In reply to DocNitty34:

    Yeah keep dreamin Afroman,

"I was gonna draft Michael Jordan, but then I got high."

    ...and drafted Damon Stoudamire...

  • In reply to Shady:

Afroman? Drafted Stoudamire? Are you sure your not high?

  • In reply to DocNitty34:

Speaking of Afroman, what ever happened to Afro Celt? That poor guy was another unlucky Bears soul living in cheese country.

  • In reply to DocNitty34:

I think any other year, I would be really excited about this superbowl matchup. Two strong teams is usually all I ask for in the SB. A good game. We have two good defenses and two good offenses battling it out. Objectively, this should be one helluva Super Bowl. I just wish it hadn't come at our expense. And to the Packers. Man, the sting from this season is just not going away fast enough.

  • In reply to DocNitty34:

Jeff, would it be possible for the winner of the column contest to feature a radio/call in show, similar but obviously not on par with, the Saturdy Show? I think that would be awesome.

  • In reply to Shady:

Big thumbs up on that one.

  • In reply to DocNitty34:

By the way we're all high because the game is actually on Monday :)

  • In reply to DocNitty34:

Just having some fun. I actually don't dislike the Blazers at all.

  • In reply to sjvl:

Hope you don't really like the Cubs, say it aint so.

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

I am all about my Cubbies Murph. Used to live on Addison Street. You'll just have to deal.

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

An abhorrent end to a pretty great season. I feel ill.

  • In reply to buckbear:

So you guys played with dolls?? Um, I mean ACTION FIGURES?! Not that there's anything wrong with that.....

    lol.

  • In reply to sjvl:

Guilty. And the best part about having a 3 year old and a 5 year old, is I get to do it all over again. Just like the line in the song Faithfully by Journey "I get the joy of rediscovering you...."

  • In reply to DocNitty34:

Good for you, Doc! Just yankin your chain a bit.

I was not a doll fan as a kid. I liked anything with wheels - bikes, roller skates, skateboards, etc. It bummed my mom out big time. :)

  • In reply to sjvl:

Did you have a big wheel or green machine sj?

  • In reply to TheFifth:

Um, I'm a bit too old for either. My nephew, 6 years younger, had both.

    Schwinn was my best friend.

  • In reply to sjvl:

Old School Radio Flyer too I bet.

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

    HEY!!!

    But I did invent fire.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

It's hard to believe anyone who calls themselves a professional could question his selection. Then to highlight his ignorance not knowing the position #95 played exclusively. This guy acted like Dent didnt have the stats or character to be in the class. Who was that ass wipe? He certainly belongs in the uninformed stupid ass hole hall of fame.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

Truly deserving, and glad to see his time finally come. Dent was the absolute Beast that I hope Peppers can be for today's team. He played mean, and I think was in the same class as Reggie White for about a 5 season stretch. The only snub that I can't see is Chris Carter. I would put him in before Shannon Sharpe, though I know the selection criteria is different for WR/TE. I know Carter will get in, I just would hate it to take a decade. Could you imagine a world where Randy Moss(and they will vote his ass in) was a HOF'er before Chris Carter? Blasphemy.

  • In reply to MattySouthside:

Agree that Carter should get in. He should've been in a year or two ago. As for comparing him with Sharpe, I guess Sharpe's 3 rings might be the crucial difference.

  • In reply to DocNitty34:

I'm ok with Sharpe, particularly after seeing how he was affected by the induction. Truly touched and grateful for the honor. His speech in August will be great.

  • In reply to DocNitty34:

Glad to see Dent finally get in. I think he's the last one who will get in from that 85 team.

That Championship loss still hurts. I thought going to Jamaica for 8 days would help me get over it, but after getting home this week I've been bombarded by Packer bullshit from almost everyone I know. It is getting sickening. Please kick their ass today Steelers. I'll probably be the only Steelers fan in the bar watching it today. I better keep my mouth shut. I just want to see a bunch of sad faces today.

  • In reply to TheFifth:

Be brave and root for those Steelers, Cor! It's the only fun we'll have for another six months, at least.

  • In reply to TheFifth:

I've been wondering how it's been going for you Cor. Must be tough living in Cheese country right about now, if there ever was a good time. Hang in there mang.

    Blazer Down!

  • In reply to DocNitty34:

    Wouldn't it be Blazer up?

  • In reply to Shady:

    True that.

  • All hail Richard Dent.
