  • Let's keep our noses to the grindstone, assume nothing and take care of business...Go Bears!

  • wow -- I only caught snippets of the Atl GB game. Did the Pack really play that well or did Matty Ice screw the pooch.

I am worried that the beloved will be tight while the Hawks will be loose.

  • In reply to jdawg:

Ryan choked BIG time. Falcons had no reason not to go into halftime down 21-17. Instead, a pick six later and they're staring at 28-14. After that, GB just got to tee off on him and he made some additional horrible turnovers.
GB chewed up substantial clock in the third quarter with the short passing game as well.
I guess "Matty Ice" is an even worse nickname than we thought.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

Turner was a non-factor by the second quarter.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

    Jeff,

I think I took the lead yesterday. Rear view mirror, blofather. That is where you were meant to be.

  • In reply to PhantomOne:

    Trash talkin'!

Are you going to change your handle to "Snarky" too, Viva?

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

    BEAR THE FUCK DOWN, BITCHES

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

Smash these hawks to dust...brush'em off and prepare to fight the packers just like the ole days...

    BEAR DOWN!!!

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

I'm kind of worried at this stage. I admit it.

  • In reply to gpldan:

+1. You can get in line right behind me, GP.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

I think I hear the Kingston Trio singing...

    "It takes a worried man,
    to sing worried song..."

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

Hoist up the John B's sails

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

I've been pacing back and forth in my living room for the past hour and a half. I can't take this anymore. START THE GAME ALREADY!

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

    tisk, tisk both of you.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

Bear Down! Enjoy the game everyone.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

True, Matty "De-iced" and looked every bit of of 3rd year NFL QB. That pick 6 was brutal. But the Packers absolutely PANTSED the Falcons defense all night long and even if it's only 21-17 at the half, Atlanta had no answers defensively (Falcons forced ZERO punts)
the final is going to be 38-24, at best.

Once again, the 'experts' sing the praises of wunderkinds Ryan and Flacco like they are the second coming of Unitas but when the rubber meets the road they both look quite a bit less than that.

Their rookie seasons were no better than Orton's last season with the Bears and he played the last part of that on a bad ankle.

Falcons had the fewest 20 yard completions in the NFL this year. When Turner disappeared, so did Ryan.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

Yep, GB's offense was clicking..although I can't say that Starks looked like the All-Pro running back that somehow emerged against Philly. Philly's run D was suspect to me anyway. I don't think he's anything special. And we know what Jackson and Kuhn are and aren't capable of.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

Of note: Eagles FIRED their defensive coordinator this week.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

Geared up and ready to watch some football. Bottle of IPA chilling in the fridge and teaching the Squrnks (my 2 year old daughter) how to do Da Bears dance.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

And now, a word from our sponsor...

    Atlanta
    is crushed,

    The Packers
    await.

    Bears
    must win,

    to keep
    that date.

    Burma Shave.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

As usual, Al - great stuff!

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

I'm linking to that from my facebook page with all due credit to you.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

    I am honored.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

Got my #90 on. Lets Go Bears. What jersey number is everyone going with today?

  • In reply to jmcyclone:

    #23 (my only option)

  • In reply to Ufficio:

I've got my #89 on DItka. Wife has on 23 Hester.

  • In reply to Ufficio:

Game time. My stomach's a little knotted, but I'm excited! Play-offs baby! Just wanted to stop by before entering the mouth of madness to say:

    BEAR FUCKEN DOWN!

    Time to believe...

  • In reply to jmcyclone:

Putting on my #9 jersey and heading out to represent at the Ale House. Bear down, compadres!

  • In reply to jmcyclone:

Repping the #6 jersey - all the haters can kiss my ass, so national media, that means you!

  • In reply to jmcyclone:

WHEW!!!! Went to the cabin - - made it back JUST IN TIME!!

I am ready for some FOOTBALL!!!!!!!

Johnny Knox is going to have a big day. I feel it. GO BEARS!!!

  • In reply to jmcyclone:

Donned my #54 Home jersey for first time all year. Game on.

  • In reply to jmcyclone:

"25 or 6 to 4" just came on the radio. I'm nowhere near Chicago. Is this an omen?

  • In reply to jmcyclone:

    #34 obv.

  • In reply to Shady:

#54 all Dayy Boys And Germs!!!!

  • In reply to Shady:

    Hes done!!

  • In reply to Shady:

    Clean hit by Manning

  • In reply to gpldan:

    very nice hit.

  • In reply to gpldan:

    Watch for a fake here.

  • In reply to Ufficio:

Punting on 4th and 1 from your opponent's 40? Why are NFL coaches such pussies?

  • In reply to Ufficio:

Didn't like that call on 3rd down. Martz needs to make sure he doesn't neglect the short passing game.

  • In reply to Ufficio:

Bearin down with my Bear fan Mom ( & our Colts fan husbands)...

  • In reply to CrispieQueen:

    The crispies are back!

  • In reply to CrispieQueen:

I gotta tell you guys. I'm fucking IMPRESSED! Bootleg for a score. Who are these guys? The fucking BEARS thats who!

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

Mad Martz is DOMINATING right now, GREAT play call!

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

    They came to play today.

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

Just layin the fucking wood to em today! This is championship football!! Nice run JAY!!

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

That cutler run was for Rick Reilley. Suck on that Ricky.

  • In reply to gpldan:

    Agreed

  • In reply to gpldan:

How do you like me now Denver?

  • In reply to gpldan:

I like what I see... *HOWEVER* in no way do I think we should be over confident. Seattle should not be in this game (but I'm glad they are).

  • In reply to CrispieQueen:

Whatever happens, happens Nicole. Just ride the wave lassy.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

I'm thrilled today...we had a week off. I hope they stay this hungry through the week.

  • In reply to gpldan:

Touchdowns on 3 out of 4 possessions. That's a nice statistic.

  • In reply to gpldan:

--- Has anyone heard the status of the injured Seattle player?

  • In reply to CrispieQueen:

No, but I think it's safe to assume he was badly concussed, and isn't returning.

  • In reply to Ufficio:

Knew he wasn't coming back to play but hoping he's not too badly hurt.

  • In reply to CrispieQueen:

Amen. I hate seeing that shit. Unless it's Favre.

  • In reply to CrispieQueen:

I think he's at Northwestern sipping through a straw.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Probably ordered a Lou Malnattis pizza delivered to the locker room.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Talking to his mom on the cell

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    I HEART MAYNARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Maynard! The old man's still got it.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Let's hope Jay doesn't get too cocky -- he's got a much tougher test and will need sounder decisions next week (guess I sound cocky already looking forward to the Pack)! For the rest of this game, will enjoy watching the defense shut down (and maybe shutout) the hapless Seahawk O -- led by #54, #55 and #90: Assault & Peppers!

    Assault & Peppers!

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

It's plays like that one that make me crazy. How can Cutty not see the pressure coming? Great punt. Here comes my Defensive score I called.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    Corey Graham - MVP.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    Ahhhhhhhh.......

    the 7 step drop

Martz better put that one away for the pack

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Mike Williams isnt used to the cold. Saw him shivering in the huddle.

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

    He hurt his pee pee

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

Jennings lucky not to get flagged for interference on that 3rd and 3. Huge call, there.

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

    a 23 yard punt w/o penalty and in bounds? That's a scared-ass punter.

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

Only a jackass would have picked him in the DBB postseason fantasy contest hehe... sigh.

Kudos to Tillman and Jennings for getting physical with the Seattle WRs today.

  • In reply to Shady:

    I
    love
    Peanut.

    But you knew that already.

  • In reply to CrispieQueen:

So far so good ! I'll feel comfortable when the score is 48to zip. Then I'll say it's in the bag!

  • In reply to CrispieQueen:

One more Bears TD and I think I might be able to relax a little. BTW, what's the biggest lead the Bears have blown this year?

  • In reply to CrispieQueen:

What would the game be without an Omiyale penalty.

  • In reply to CrispieQueen:

Hey, where are all the Olsen haters at? Still want a fifth rounder for him?

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

Don't tempt me Brownie. Ha ha ha.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

Irish is sound asleep in another hemisphere.

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

He'll find something to be pissed about.

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

I can't take another week of how bad we are.
    I swear to Papa Bear.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

I wouldn't say that MikeBrownhadaPosse. I like his splash of realistic opinions. Very refreshing. I would hate to have everyone with a ra ra yay yay minset on this blog.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Oh, don't get me wrong - realistic is where we should be.
We really are destroying the Seahawks.
We really are headed for a home game against GB for the NFC championship.
Greg Olsen really did drop 115 receiving years on Seattle in the first 15 minutes of the game.
And this team really was assembled by our current front office.
So, I appreciate Irish's viewpoint, but I also appreciate the season we're having and the fact that it is special to have a team still playing in mid January.
There's alot of fans that want to be where we are today.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Differences of opinion are great, though, and I love Irish to death. I hope to buy him a beer some day.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

why did Martz go away from the run????

  • In reply to animal:

to get to the other side?

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Biggest half-time lead since 1941 my friends!!!

Thank you for coming back to life Greg Olsen!!

Lovin' me some Peanut today too. I'm exhausted...

    GO BEARS!!

  • In reply to sjvl:

1941..interesting that date seems to be coming up a lot...maybe Papa Bear is guiding our destiny!!!

  • In reply to nicholsra:

    Good start.

    Job's only halfway done.

Did NOT like the bears last two offensive series of the half.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

agree Al..time to put the proverbial foot and the neck of the SeaChickens and twist...let the air out!

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

    Uninspiring...possession..ugh.......

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

I'm with you. Time for the offense to refocus.....

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

Nor the first of the second half. Cutler hasn't looked sharp at all on the last couple of drives.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

Defense is having one helluva game.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

Well, at least the D isn't letting up.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

"Defense" is what wins Championships boys and girls!!!

  • In reply to nicholsra:

Wasn't that the year the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?

  • In reply to Jedthro:

Yeah. Red Barons and all that.....

  • In reply to Jedthro:

    Time for a defensive TD.

    Icing, baby.

  • In reply to Jedthro:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V8lT1o0sDwI

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

It's series like that, that I scratch my head on. Why not grind out the half with some nice runs.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    Goin for that knockout punch

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    +1

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

I just wanna put this out there, I still want Lovie outta Chicago.

  • In reply to CrispieQueen:

AWWW Nic, just a lil love for the Lovie man?

  • In reply to CrispieQueen:

Thou shalt not say such things in the playoffs during the game.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

I was just putting it out there, no need to discuss at current joyous time.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

I know Buck/Aikman are Fox's #1 team but I really like Albert/Johnston and Siragusa, especially Johnston...

  • In reply to tobijohn:

    +1

  • In reply to tobijohn:

    WTF was that?

  • In reply to tobijohn:

    Forte 0 for 1, 1 INT

  • In reply to gpldan:

Does that count for fantasy purposes?

  • In reply to gpldan:

Martz..just stay with what's working. This is not the time to get fancy!!!

  • In reply to tobijohn:

It's plays like that one that take away from the great play of you team. What the heck is Martz thinking.

  • In reply to tobijohn:

How in thee hell was that P>I?

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    It wasn't. Total BS.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Thanks refs for giving the SeaChickens a drive...bitches

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

That BS TD was all on Martz. Martz, do us all a favor and cut the crap, OK.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Martz you dope, you just gave a team that knew they were beaten a change to get back in the groove. Jeez.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    trac..he just couldn't resist...damn it!

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

lmao....the refs made sure this ass whooping didn't look as bad as it is. go ahead and score again Cutty....beat that ass.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Forte is the dope. We brought the wildcat all day.

  • In reply to gpldan:

I just have to say all the trick play bullshit and uncommon blitzes are fucking ridiculous, and make us look bushleague. The fucking pack didn't start playing like a college team in the 3rd and 4th, they finished by continuing to kick ass. Not happy.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    Were playing shell 2 now

  • In reply to MB30SD:

I hate to see a team given life on a stupid play we call. I don't like affirmative action in football.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

George Will would be proud of you

  • In reply to gpldan:

How do you know the game is over? Forte is throwing a 10 yard pass on a crossing pattern to Hester.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

It's garbage time but I would still like to see a turnover by our Boys.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

About the cheapest TD reception ever.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    More pushups for Peanut

  • In reply to gpldan:

    yep

  • In reply to nicholsra:

    20 at least

  • In reply to nicholsra:

This week is going to be smack week.

Somebody lay down the tarp over the blog floor, its going to get messy in here...

  • In reply to nicholsra:

What time we play next week?

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

    Next Sunday, 1pm central. Fox.

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

I didn't mind the garbage TD's, they won a $100 for me in a pool.

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

Where the hell was Doc? Mountain hiking? Delivery from Mom?

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

Lance Briggs " Green Bay..It can be soon enough" BRING IT ON!!!!

  • In reply to gpldan:

Kruetz...Keep slapping the bitches..I have no problem with that penalty.........

  • In reply to gpldan:

Can someone tell me why the Bears didn't punt. What the?

  • In reply to gpldan:

BU......Start slapping the boys around AND FINISH THIS FUCKING GAME NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • In reply to gpldan:

Sloppy shit, very sloppy and weak. Rodgers will eat that kind of d up

  • In reply to gpldan:

I know these points are meaningless, but i HATE that we are giving them up. After total defensive domination all day to get sloppy now is crap.

  • In reply to gpldan:

    losing focus here.

  • In reply to gpldan:

This is why I wanted a 30 pt fucking lead before I got comfy. There is no way they should have scored 2 touchdowns. Our defense needs a good ass chewing for this. The Packers will not be this easy!!!

  • In reply to RogerMinton:

    +1 on the arse chewing.

  • In reply to gpldan:

    Man, what a weird game.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Oh well, we stick kicked the snot out of the Skankhawks today. Bittersweet victory today. I hope Harris will be ready for the Cheese.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Yeah, one BS TD and another uber-lucky one. This one wasn't as close as the score.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

My GAWD I love my Bears.

  • In reply to gpldan:

Just going to mention again how much I love Peanut. What a Bear.

  • In reply to gpldan:

A halfback pass? Really? High risk, BS GP. We are winning they game, no need for gimmicks.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

I thought it looked like Forte was trying to hand the ball off for a good 2 secs. the made a terrible decision to throw the ball to Seattle.

  • In reply to Shady:

Also looked like he had a nice seam in front of him before he threw. Should have just taken off.

  • In reply to Shady:

That was a makeble field goal wasn't it. What the fuck!!!!!

  • In reply to Shady:

Damn, even Tommy came to play today.

  • In reply to Shady:

Tommie Harris? huh. he still plays football? huh.

  • In reply to FQD1911:

butter gets hard in the cold

  • In reply to Shady:

oh, and I HAVE to say this... as great as he is...

Devin Hester is a pussy and HATES contact. Brutal.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

maybe we offer him a 6-pack of vagasil for the next two games... with love from us?

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Score again here and I will forgive the bad call by Martz. I hate it when the Bears go up big on a team and then just flat line.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

That's why he doesn't play corner anymore then, huh?

  • In reply to gpldan:

Yeah, man... but common. Did you see him non-block on that one run that could have been a TD if he would have blocked ANYTHING instead of just ole-ing his guy? Fucken a man.

That first runback should have been a TD too... just jump over the fucking kicker... just try.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    Thank you for fuck sake

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Now that's what I'm talking about. Oooooohraaah.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

I forgive you Martz. Just don't do it again.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Ok let's get cutty off the field now

  • In reply to gpldan:

In the playoffs, the General doesn't run into the bunker.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Then tell Lovie to stay till the end.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

And it begins!!!!!!!!..A new AVATAR!!!! oh btw...fudgepecker trolls FU

  • In reply to nicholsra:

Is is just me or does it look like Halas is thinking, "Get your friggin hand off my arm"?

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

+10....trac or get you hand out of my pocket beyach!!!

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Lovie has earned the right to sign another contract. The better team will win next week and I'm happy to be a Bear fan again. The last 4 years have been oh so hard. Congratulations for winning a playoff game Bears. Bring in the Cheese. Out.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

I agree with you that we've got a solid coaching staff at this point with Lovie at the helm. But our performance next week against the Pack will determine what that new contract will look like.

At this point though, I think upper management should stay quiet about contracts. We can talk about that after we win the Super Bowl.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

50 minutes of incredible football. 10 minutes of not so much. To beat the fudgers next week will take all 60 minutes. But the NFC Championship game is coming to Chicago.

I'm not going to eat anything but cheese all week. There goes the cholesterol.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

God, what garbage stats at the end. Those garbage TDs at the end prob got Irish into the next round lol

Didn't like the way it ended - the D only gave up points when Washington got the SeaChickens to FG range, that Forte imitation of Favre, and playing prevent. They really only gave up like 10points, if that. Well, something to give them motivation during the week. OH, and the Packs are coming to town - have you heard?

Did anyone hear the crowd chanting "Packers Suck!"? that was funny. Can Aikman give a blow job to Cutler too now, after he was done with Rodgers? Maybe his jaw is too sore, at least a hand-job Aikman, King, ESPN...

  • In reply to KissMyButkus:

85...Aikman was paying for Lap Dance too!!

  • In reply to KissMyButkus:

Sloppy fucking garbage... we play like that fucking crap next week and the packers will wipe the fucking floor with us.

That better hav been fucking bye week cobwebbs. Motherfucker that shit made me angry. And peanut... that's why you didn't get voted to teh PB damn it... after a brilliant game you miss that INT? Really?

I'm kinda pissed man, that was a fucking junk 2 quarters of football.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

It's OK, Mike - we're hosting the NFC Championship game in 7 days.

It's supposed to be a time for happiness, my mang.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

Happy? Not just happy. I'm freakin ecstatic. We have the Packers coming to Soldiers Field for the NFC Championship. We will win that game. You can quote me.

  • In reply to mikev:

I'm not even sure how hopped up to be, I'm that excited.

That game is going to be tremendous.

Where the f-ck are the NFC West/South/East fans at?
    Bitches.

  • In reply to mikev:

Yeah, I know, I know. Just can't stand the thought of losing to the pack next week with sloppy play. I will say this...

I KNOW we will beat the pack, I have zero doubts. Just don't want it to be pissed away by our own hand.

And yes, MBP, you're right... all is well right now.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Keep in mind, alot of that garbage on offense was, I'm sure, to give Capers a little something to think about (like, for example, how bad the Bears wildcat is when Matty decides to throw the ball). The game was over at halftime. I believe a good chunk of that game plan in the fourth was just chaff with a little focus on running clock. The third quarter was mostly clock management.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

totally agree MBP. I think Martz real game plan was done midway through the 3rd quarter, like that whole game against the Pack last time. Just more game-planning homework for GB. Still, Forte can't throw a duck into double coverage there. Maybe Martz had him on his Fantasy Football team or something.

  • In reply to KissMyButkus:

God I never want to see Forte throw another ball as long as I live. And yet again, Cutler is split out wide - why? Somebody explain the Chicago Wildcat to me. I don't get it. First off, the guy taking the snap needs to be able to throw it if required, that's my understanding.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

Can we give some credit at least to the Hawks O. H'beck wasn't terrible, his droppy receivers were - and he lost his only real option at TE on the first series. People forgetr that he ripped the league leading pass defense apart last week. We weren't keeping them out of the endzone for 60 minutes.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

I would have appreciated WCF leapfrogging the punter to aid my DBB playoff chances, but you can't always get what you want.
Devin - just return one against the Pack and we cool.

    HEGONE!

  • In reply to MB30SD:

just think...in do time you will have to answer this question..the one I had to slide around with my nine year old son..."daddy why do you call them FudgePeckers"? my response "no son I said" "FudgePackers" no Dad I heard you say FudgePecker..."Whats a FudgePecker"?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXCbAtkgNMw

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Packers 3 point favorites in the early lines.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

pats looking VERY beatable so far.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    Didn't the Browns beat them?

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Phrozen, Cheesy.... talk all the smack you want, but we all know you guys don't match up well against us (if that last game meant anything to us, we all know we would have won it).

You KNOW we're going to win this next game buddy. Deep down inside... you know this.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

I'm just finding it hard to forget we only scored 3 points on them last time MB. Home field, a few Marinelli specials, afew TE streaks on 3rd and 1, a Hester special, solid D ... who knows ....

I say we get Garret Wolfe to immediately stretcher their punter.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Happy day!!! Bears tear it up and the Patriots might lose. Hopefully we see a Chicago-Pittsburgh Super Bowl and see some football the way it's meant to be played. Kill the Fudgepackers!!

  • In reply to number1ninja:

If they play like they have so far, I'd much rather have the pats. they look like shit so far.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Still thinking about the last game though. I don't think we're built to take the Pats.

  • In reply to number1ninja:

Maybe, but look at the game surface the pats are playing on today. We're even better on turf (speed D).

No telling Ninja, might have been a fluke, maybe it was all the snow, maybe like you said, we just don't match up.

Dan Marino: "Bears are going to have their hands full with the Green Bay packers"

Looks like Shannon "my tongue is too big for my mouth" Sharpe is picking us next week

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Bears have the Pack, I fully believe it, look at what they did when they had nothing to play for. Just like the Seahawks today, I don't think they'll let it happen again.

As far as the Pats though, Brady lives to carve up the middle, which just so happens to be the Bears' biggest weakness. It wouldn't have mattered today, but think how much closer it would have been if Seattle's receivers hadn't dropped all those passes. Doesn't look like it's gonna matter though, suddenly the Lombardi Trophy is starting to look plausible.

  • In reply to number1ninja:

the ChickenHawks did drop a lot of passes, and the Pats too.

    Both lost.

Anyone still complaining about not having a true number one? I'd rather have a lot of midgets who catch it when it counts (Santonio Holmes) than pro-bowlers who drop or fumble the rock when it counts.

  • In reply to KissMyButkus:

Just me apparently 85. Yu might see what I mean next week - I hope not. If we use Olsen and Kellen 6'7 Davis a bit more, it mightn't matter. And some more Forte routes downfield ...

  • In reply to MB30SD:

fuck all those bitches including....COWFUK all losers

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    Bears-Jets SB?

  • In reply to nicholsra:

Bears - Steelers. It's gonna happen.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

As I asked in a previous post, is it possible that LDL is a stategic genious?
I mentioned I'm starting to feel as I did in 85, and that is expecting a win. It only took 3 defensive and 3 offensive plays and I'm saying, yup....it's over. The 2nd half is junk. Why in the hell do I want to show a damn thing for whoever we play next? The most complete game this year to me was the 2nd vikings game. A team dominating in all three phases. That's when I knew this team is special. Somehow I believe that the mistakes may in fact not be mistakes. What better way to confuse the enemy than to show a vulnerability that doesn't in fact exist. Look at the Jets and Eagles games. When points were needed, they came. Week 17 was LDL deciding the makeup of the NFC playoffs. So? Is it possible LDL ain't such a blithering idiot?

  • In reply to Jedthro:

    No. The answer is no.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

But he needs to change his middle name from "Lee" to "Lucky".

One thing I'm sure of and thats when someone making what, 5 mil or so, to lead an orginization, does something that appears to be stupid, it may well be intentional. The proof is in the results.

  • In reply to Jedthro:

He gets credit, he's. A decent coach...just far from a genius. He's also had his share of luck. If he coaches like he did this yeah from here on out i'm good with him. But if were honest with each other, what changed this year?

    1. Desperation
    2. Mari, marts, rice

All... not traditional lovie. Get rid of angelo and keep everyone else and I'm good.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

I'd be happy with just an Angelo-burning-execution. If you fire Lovie there's a 100% chance that the holy trinity of Toub-Martz-Tice-Maranelli is over. Have we got the best coaches in the NFL or what? Lovie deserves some credit for that if nothing else. Handing over to Maranelli was also a good call.

People are so stupid. They get played and never even know it.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    ok

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Don't get me wrong MB, I just think that women was using her Cancer situation to guilt players into giving autographs.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Either way, she spent 3 hours waiting for that plane to get there because she's a big Packers fan (for what reason, who knows...).
He acted like a complete dick - which is not shocking to us, but I'm sure to any cheesehead, it's a surprise.
Matthews stopped, talked to her, signed and was a decent human being to her.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

ur an asshole. SHE HAS CANCER DUDE! HELLO! So the Children Cutler visits at the Hospital are just guilting him into his visits? Or Wait She just said "Hey God give me Breast Cancer so I can guilt packer players to Sign autographs for me" CMON TRAC!

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

Don't be a fool. My statement has nothing to do with choosing to help someone or going the extra mile to be compassionate. It has everything to do with someone using their illness to garner a signature or two. Why do you think she was dressed in all pink Fresno? She did it because she knew it would get her a few extra signatures. Then the vultures swoop in and slander a guy like Rogers because he didn't give an autograph to the poor lady in pink. Give me a break.

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

See Fresno, that lady said she HAD cancer(past tense). She is using her little pink outfit for an autograph. Nothing in that video suggests to me that Rogers was an ass. Do you stop and give every person standing on the corner holding up a sign money? I don't think it's right to slander someone just because they didn't do what YOU think they should have done.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

here's your proof. the team was told about her...

    matthews was nice at least...

  • In reply to DuffDiggler3:

It's just that there were a lot of people on here upset about Cutty being slandered and then those same blogger's do the same thing to Rogers. MB said asked the question, what would Jesus Do? I think he would want us to say, don't be a hypocrite.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    Two points
    1) Jay's our quarterback, Rodgers is a QB for the Walking Bruises up North.
    2) Jay blows off the media, Rodgers blows off his own fans.
He had a reputation for that long before this latest incident.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

I agree that the Bears have no reason to lose to the Pack Sunday BUT losing Harris is BIG. I have no doubt he'll play but will he be 100%...we need him in a big way and not having him at full speed will only give Driver and Jennings a chance to make a big play. Let's hope it's not serious.

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

    Waffle,

How big is the stain in your shorts? I thought of you when the score went to 35-24 and all the Seahawks needed was a FG to cover. I never actually doubted the outcome of this game after Olsen's first TD catch. However, I thought the playcalling got too cute in the 4th. Forte INT, D playing a 2 soft shell. What a weekend and what an opportunity the Bears have to win it all. I feel much more confident about their chances this year than in 2006. The O-line seems to have figured it out.

    Bear Down!

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    Here comes NE.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Not looking that way so far trac.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

I can't believe the Pats are gonna lose this thing. I'd rather play the Jets or Steelers.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

What a turn Trac...defending Rodgers? There's a difference between being objective and being contrarian. Don't go against the grain on the blog here when it's right. There were obviously cameras trying to capture the event and he couldn't stop. That ultra douche maneuver. Even more so than the strapping on of the belt dance.

  • In reply to buckbear:

Ok Buck. It's not worth getting into a philosophical difference here. Even though Rogers is the Cheese's QB, I think it's not fair to characterize a quy like that.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

All is well my friend. I was just high on endorphins and needed to razz someone. From all accounts Rodgers is a nice guy. I just needed to vent my frustration at the bias against Cutler. They even got into it during the game...sickening.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

We have not played Greenbay in the NFC Championship since 1941. The Bears won that game 33 to 14. Here's to history repeating itself! Ya know, I was worried about NE, now that the Jets stepped up and eliminated them I feel some invisible weight off my shoulders. I'm not worried about Greenbay because we know how to play them, we know what to do to beat them. We've beat them before and could have beat them in the last game if we called the right plays.

I really feel right now the Bears not only have a shot but a REAL chance to take it home and win the SB, regardless if it's Pitt or the Jets. BEAR DOWN my fellow bear lovers! I hear Destiny knocking and all the Bears have to do is open the door and let it in.

  • In reply to Jedthro:

What do you mean, you don't buy it? It was run by a local affiliate in Green Bay. I'm sure they put up prank videos that make the star players look like assholes just for fun?!?
WTF ever. You think the moon landing was faked too? Wait, are you really Irish?

  • In reply to FQD1911:

Fuckin asshole. Where Rick Riellys piece on this?

  • In reply to FQD1911:

Just out of curiosity (and because I have nothing better to do) I did a little bit of research. THe last time the NFC Championship game was played between two teams from the same division was in 1981 when the Eagles beat the Cowboys. The one before that was 1972 when the Redskind beat the Cowboys. There might have been others prior to that but it predates the AFL/NFL merger. However, in the AFC, it has happened about eight times in that same period. As for two teams from the NFC North or the old NFC Central squaring off, this will be a first. There's some fun fact for you...

    http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/01/16/tom-brady-turns-in-third-straight-playoff-disappointment/

This is a great indictment of the quarterbacks-only race for league MVP. As far as I see it, guys like Devin Hester, Darrelle Revis and Troy Polamalu are the reason why their teams are where they are. Trouble is everyone is so busy the quarterback, they forget about the other 21 guys on the field.

  • In reply to mottystone:

Troy Polamalu sucked against the Ravens. Just sayin'...

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

Yes he did, uncharacteristically, but these play-offs have been full of trend breakers. Here's a question a girl asked me when they flashed a pic of Brady after the pick, "Brady has short hair now" - "NO, that was just a picture of him from the last time he threw an interception." Polamalu whiffs on a TD saving tackle, The Bears Oline actually gives Cutler almost too much time to throw, Bellicheat makes a bonehead decision, GB runs the ball like they're in a 50s time warp...it's like Bizarro NFL...

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Shocker. New would have thought the Patsy's could play such a poorly executed game. Just goes to show you though, if you bring the right Defensive game plan and you have the players to implement it, the sky's the limit.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

By the way....I don't recall seeing Manu at all

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

I think we should wear throwback jerseys for the game next Sunday.

  • In reply to gpldan:

    agreed.

  • In reply to gpldan:

I would if I had one. Either #7 or #77.

  • In reply to packerbacker85:

Well, I hope you are all appreciative that I took the fantasy fall today to jinx Brady. Although I told you the Jets would win, I really did not think pretty boy would suck that badly. I should have know when I saw him wearing that ridiculous stretchy thing to keep his hair from getting too cold.

The only thing that prevented a perfect football weekend was an absurd holding penalty that stole a TD from the Ravens on that kick return.

  • In reply to Mastodon:

Mea culpa! If I might be allowed an indulgence to fix my own post, please substitute "a Vegas" for "an absurd" above.

  • In reply to Mastodon:

Say what you will about Manu or Olsen's run blocking, but they cause match up problems. This is what I saw a lot of in the game.

Bears break the huddle, Knox, Bennett,Manu, Olsen, and Forte line up as WRs. Now, a cb definitely has to take Knox and Bennett, which means a LB is on Manu who lined up on the outside, which means that linebackers must cover Olsen or Forte - not good. So as a D, maybe you make some audible, maybe you move your Safety to cover Olsen and a linebacker runs out to cover Manu and Forte, not favorable either. Suddenly, Manu shifts to fullback, Forte to running back, and Olsen to TE, now the bears have a classic I formation, the D scrambles again, and assumes a run. Cutler fakes a handoff, then hits someone down field. Or maybe they do run it, but the D didn't reassign quickly enough, and Forte runs for about 3-4 yards...

That's what Martz means by making the Defenses audible to him, and not the other way around. If Cutler does indeed see a slow linebacker on Forte or Safety on Hester (like when Babineaux was on Hester), Culter keeps them spread and hits them for a completion that can possibly turn big (Hester beat Babineaux badly and would have been gone if Trufant didn't come rushing over to help). Next play, maybe Kellen Davis is in 3TE formation, or Taylor lines up with Forte, or Hester/Forte/Bennet wild cat it...this game was awesome to watch from the Xs and Os stand point. Mad Martz...

  • In reply to packerbacker85:

God you're worthless... even for a packer fan. Jesus.

Yeah... GO BEARS GO BEARS GO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    mental midget.

  • In reply to Jedthro:

He takes up half the field; it's hard to miss him.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

And he still can't make a block

  • In reply to Mastodon:

He's a planetary body; it's a matter of gravity, timing, etc.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

To be fair, Manu has made some good contributions in the run game this year.

  • In reply to Mastodon:

Watched the Packers game with my business partner (shhh, he's from Wisconsin). Took about 5 minutes for me to notice what a terrible announcer Troy Aikman is. So I pointed out just how often he mentioned "Aaron Rodgers" (like 4 times a minute, even when the Packers were on D). My partner's not a huge football guy, but after I pointed this out he told me: "You have now ruined NFL commentary for me."

What Aikman failed to mention is that Green Bay has a heck of an offensive line and an under-rated secondary. I'd take the under next week, this is going to be just as much of a defensive battle as the Ravens/Steelers game. Pepp and co. are going to have their work cut out for them. I doubt very much you'll see the defense phone it in for the 4th quarter next week.

This is what football is all about. Bear Down!

  • In reply to mottystone:

There is one button on the remote that has ever ruled over all others. It's called "mute". Try it, I think you'll like it.

  • In reply to Mastodon:

Unfortunately wasn't my remote. But the other folks in the room (casual Packers fans) actually enjoyed the comments, so what are you gonna do. I'll have to trust the Bears to shut Aikman up for me.

  • In reply to Mastodon:

DID U ALL MISS ME?!?! lol anyone even remember? anyway, I'm back. Matter of fact, never left, just read... Anyway, if you don't, here's a taste of the kind of stuff i'll provide... enjoy...

  • In reply to sjvl:

Spent the day watching the games with my seahawk buddy, getting sweet revenge on our earlier season defeat to them. It was nice. What a game! What a start! Cutty looked calm cool and collected in his first playoff game. The next one will be at home against a team he plays twice a year anyway, so nerves shouldn't be too big a factor there either. What a dream scenario this has been. We get convincing revenge on the Seahawks from Seattle, where I live. We advance to the NFC championship game to play our bitter rivals for the George Halas trophy in Chicago for the rights to play for the Lombardi trophy. Winner may get both, loser gets none. I can't overstate how big this match up is. The rest of the NFL fans may not know, but we do. THIS is huge. HUGE! New England lost and so now there's only one team left that we haven't beaten this season. But we haven't played them either. We DID beat them last season though.

What an unbelievable game. So proud of my team. Cutty, 2 passing t.d.'s, 2 rushing. Hasn't been done in the playoffs since Otto freaking Graham. No, Steve Young hasn't done it. No, Michael Vick never did it. No, Favre, Rogers, Elway, Moon, or Cunningham didn't do it. Cutler did it. In his first game. If the media doesn't give this guy a little credit now, the conspiracy will be too obvious to deny. Girlie Thor and LDL should not both get new nicknames.

We're on our way boys and girls. And I'm mother-fucking loving it.

    Woodson...dead
    Mathews...Dead
    Jennnings...DEAD!
    Rogers.....DEAD!!!
    Packers....FUCKING DEAD!!!!!

  • In reply to DocNitty34:

I mean, SHOULD both get new nicknames.

  • In reply to DocNitty34:

Here's that answer to your 'question' doc (again): http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/writers/jim_trotter/01/16/bears.seahawks/index.html?eref=sihp

We won't ever get credit mang, not even when the confetti is falling and Cutty's kissing that big shiny trophy baby.

...but at that point, who fucking cares.

  • In reply to DocNitty34:

A Bear QB mentioned in the same breath as Otto Graham?

    Who'd have thunk it!

Mr. Graham, BTW, is routinely overlooked when 4-letter types, who think the NFL didn't exist before their network was born, talk about the game's great QBs.

  • In reply to DocNitty34:

And I am CERTAIN that the "Suits" at FOX are STILL doing cartwheels in their offices over getting the Packers-Bears matchup.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

We'll probably get stuck with Buck and Aikman. That wouldn't be so bad if it was a baseball game and Aikman was a no-show.

  • In reply to DocNitty34:

Dude. Did you watch that game in a bar surround by Seachicken fans?

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

No bar. Just one fan. I have watched a bears packers game in a Packer bar once though. That was an experience. We won. I left before the final whistle. And if I remember right, we never got our order.

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

One area that we can improve - but won't - may cost us against GB. Jamarcus Webb. He's big, he's slow, and he gets Cutler sacked - and last night, stripped of the ball. Kevin Shaffer please. Whenever we bring Shaffer on, he's being the key component in some rushing play for a TD, he certainly couldn't be any worse than Webb at pass blocking. If we lose to GB, it's a fair bet that Webb will be a major contributing factor. It's avoidable. Start Shaffer. My $0.02.

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

Zero percent chance of that happening Irish. Fahgettaboutit.

  • In reply to DocNitty34:

Then we'll just have to bitch-slap them up and down the field all day. More stretchers!

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

Rich Eisen put it an interesting way,

"The Packers have a chance to beat the Bears for the George Halas Trophy. The Bears have a chance to beat the Packers for a chance at the Lombardi trophy"

Could it really get any sweeter than this? I mean think about it. That can't happen in the AFC. What, the Chiefs playing somebody for the Lamar Hunt trophy? Please.

This is the first time this has ever happened in the history of the NFL. BEARS PACKERS. SOLDIER FIELD. The Winner hoists the George Halas trophy and plays for the rights to the Vince Lombardi trophy.

    I mean Jebus H.

  • In reply to DocNitty34:

This *is* the superbowl, right here. We beat the Packers and nobody stops the juggernaut. I'm beginning to think it's actually possible now. Ding! Dong! The Pats are dead ...

  • In reply to DocNitty34:

So, here it is. Not since Dec. 14,1941 have we met in a championship game. Nice setting too. For the Halas on enemy turf. Then the Lombardi. Can't lie, the Halas is going to mean a lot more this time around. Either way, we been playing with house money just about all year. No fucking way will a beat up team like this ever have the kind of luck we had this year. It's never happened before and odds are it will never happen again. And it has been luck. Destiny? Men make their own. But a little luck is needed too. No real Cheeser is going to say fuck all about the run we made this year even if we lose next week. We set an example for every jamoke riding the pines in every gym and every stadium in every sport and I'm fucking proud of it. Like I said, it's house money. That issue aside, the Pack is gonna bring it and I really hope to see the Bears balls cut off in front of the home crowd. Admit it or not you know it's real possible. Damn, this may be the biggest game I have ever seen in my 57 years. I can only hope it's the best. I'll be back after the game either way. Till then, see you in Hell.

  • In reply to phrozentundra:

All things are possible, Phrozen. And yes, this is it. What we all knew was coming.

This will be the longest week ever.

  • In reply to phrozentundra:

I'll give you the success given your IR situation. The Seahawks and Pats have two more players than you on IR, and they deserve major credit for getting this far. With our roster we'd be picking first in the draft with 13/15 players on IR. But destiny? It's the 25th anniversary of SB XX. That's destiny. You're not coming into our house and taking the Halas trophy. No fucking way. We will be going to Dallas to pick up the Lombardi courtesy of Fatboy Footman. Mark it down in your 1992 Pamela Anderson Baywatch calendar that's still stuck to your broken fridge with the possum heads in it.

    chuckle, chuckle.

  • In reply to phrozentundra:

    Couple things Phro:

    1. I have a lot of respect for what you guys did this year. Impressive no doubt. I also respect Ted Thompson, his skills are underscored even more when we have Jerry Angelo.

    2. That said, your post speaks to what I posted up above. This is in no way trash talk or trying to throw anything in your face, because that shit degenerates to silliness

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    Oh, I almost forgot #4...

    4. While Rodgers could very well be a HOF QB if he keeps playing the way he is now, he's about 1 bad concussion away from a very short career. I don't say that because I wish that upon him, I hope to the football god's that he never gets another one. I just state it as fact.

What I DID want to mention is that the guy is a HUGE FUCKING DOUCHEBAG. That completely gay belt things is just so

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Wake up Jeff, New thread already.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Agreed - he's probably tallying up our scores

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Agreed - he's probably tallying up our scores

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    Yes, it's time.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Look, I don't know what it is... maybe it's that we basically beat the paclers twice already this year, maybe it's the destiny thing on the 25th anniversary, maybe it's just a gut feeling...

But we are going to beat the packers next week. There is NO doubt in my mind.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

What do you think his theme will be? Bears take care of business, must rise to the occasion on Sunday. Lovie keeps job, TRAC jumps into lead in fantasy pool. Oh yeah and, Greg Olsen for President.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

You know the national press angle will be "we should have put them down in Lambeau while we had the chance."

I call this the Obi-Wan angle. Now they are more powerful than we can possibly imagine.

I'm sure the national press will do everything to try and shit on Chicago's confidence. I say, bring it on. Make the Bears the underdogs, that's how the Bears like it...

  • In reply to phrozentundra:

Posts like that, I'd say your a welcome addition, regardless of your chosen team.

  • In reply to phrozentundra:

In fact, there is no @#$! way a team with 13 ducheynes on IR takes the Halas from us in Soldier Field. Urlacher, Briggsy and Peppers and Jay Christopher won't let it happen. Cometh the hour cometh the men. I guaranteed Dallas, the Jets game, and just for the cheesers ... it's a guaranteed Irish cheese flan next Sunday.

    Packers. Dead.

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

    Was that Ryan Sheckler?

  • In reply to phrozentundra:

Fuck it. I guaranteed the Cowboys and the Jets games, and I'll guarantee you that a team with 13 retards on IR does not get to come into our house and take the Halas trophy off us, Frozen Turd. Not going to happen. But we WILL be taking the Lombardi back from Texas with us.

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

I don't think anyone could have written this script at the beginning of the season Irish. I have to say, the Bears have surpassed my expectations this year. Even with the disappointing losses to the Giants and Pats this year, Lovie has earned back my respect with his overall performance this season.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Predicted? Even Nostradamus missed this one.

  • In reply to phrozentundra:

    Two random thoughts:

    A. Collin Cowturd, an unabashed Patriots fan and Bears disser will barely be able to speak today, and I love it love it love it.

    B. If there were ever a day to use the word 'epic', today is it. I only know one person who was alive the last time the Bears played the Peckers in the NFC Championship. Next Sunday will be EPIC and you got it Irish, no way Halas is going to cheeseland.

  • In reply to sjvl:

The Media still won't learn their lesson sj. You know it's gonna be a Rogers love fest until the Bears smoke the Cheese in Chicago next Sunday.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

I wouldn't have it any other way. Let them doubt us all the way to Dallas.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

I can't handle the importance and implications of this upcoming game on Sunday. I'm already freaking out.

Tickets are $500 minimum but I'm thinking this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity is too good to cheap out.

Anyone else considering going to the the most epic game of our lifetime, regardless of price?

  • In reply to Shady:

i'm definitely considering it and since i got sick and didn't go to the game yesterday i have an extra couple hundred that can be used to obtain these epic tickets.

    run=win

  • In reply to Shady:

I'm going to go all out and cook the meal of a lifetime and then watch the game in the comfort of my living room. Chateaubriand(Med-rare), Grilled Lobster tail, Au Gratin Potatoes, Green Beans wrapped in bacon slowly baked in Brown Sugar, chilled shrimp and a wonderful loaf of French Bread.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Oh and for the Super Bowl, Brats & Burgers on the Grill.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

that is the way to do it

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

There is a new thread guys.

  • In reply to Shady:

Well all I know I will probably have game on mute and rockin some metallica beacuse I am tired of joe puck and troy aikin love fest over there BFF aaron rodgers will turn it up at the end when we raise halas trophy in our building BEAR DOWN BROTHERS!!

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

Sorry, but the strip sack goes against Jay. His internal clock still stinks at times and he should habeen lugging up field or mailing it into the cheap seats by that time.

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

    New thread, please.

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

Hey Reilly, want to know how we like our QB's in Chicago? In the NFC Championship you fucking hack bitch.

  • In reply to DocNitty34:

One thing I have to say before I call it a night. The National Anthem was one of the most emotionally charged heart moving TV moments in Sports Anthem History. 60k+ Bear fans singing at the top of their lungs going apeshit. I knew then we were in for something special. Big 4th phase today, overall.

  • In reply to Church:

Agreed - and then I started thinking, "And this is just the Seahawks. What is next Sunday going to feel like?"

  • In reply to Church:

Great point enderwiggin. I too thought it was a sweet rendition. So much better than the typical pop diva bullshit they cart out there. That thing was inspiring. Really.

  • In reply to DocNitty34:

    +1000
I was wondering if this would come up. The crowd went nuts as soon as that guy started singing. What a voice and so appropriate for the city of broad shoulders! I wanted to start chanting U-S-A! afterward.

Also, Jeff, Jim McMahon had 2 rushing touchdowns in the super bowl, tied the record that game. 1 was definitely designed, not sure about the other one.

A little home cooking for Jay Cutler. Finally someone sticks up for him, but its his sister so I'm sure that he's happy about that.

  • In reply to DocNitty34:

Great game yesterday... The score doesn't really reflect how strong the Bears D really played though. They looked great and if I was on the fudge I'd be shitting myself right now.

  • In reply to DocNitty34:

    +2000

  • In reply to Church:

+1. Don't mess with the classics.

That guy sang the Blackhawks to a Stanley Cup last year.

  • In reply to mikev:

Cutty at the podium..."not totally happy"..."left somethings undone".."not our best game yet"...

and then a question are you going to warm up to the media...he said "I'M trying I'm trying"...Cutty FUCK THEM just win baby!!!

  • In reply to nicholsra:

Cutty, keep doing your thing. I will be wearing my jersey over the shirt and tie into work on Monday.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

Where is Tom Brady now? Peyton Manning? Brees? Gay Rivers? The Elite? Sitting at home with their thumbs up their asses. The big, mobile gunslingers (and porn star Sanchize) march on ...

I hope we meet the Jets if all goes well. Unleashing a Grogan/Eason-esque raping on Sanchize would be the cherry on the top of our Lombardi cake. Can you believe it? We're talking superbowl now and no-one can mention the kool-aid anymore. Sweet.

  • In reply to mikev:

The "Team of Rivals" appears to have taken this group of players to the brink of greatness.
Can they drive it the rest of the way?

Just polishing the brass knuckles up and attaching the barbed wire to the louisville . Fuck the precision shit. This is for all the marbles....a bottle of Jack and a stripper.

Anyway, nice job today, but they were who we thought they were. The way the Pats and Jets are playing one of us will be playing the Steelers looks like.

Right now I gotta detox alcohol poisoning. see you in hell.

  • In reply to phrozentundra:

com'n bud the beginning of the year the vein on the forehead was thumping because we had LDL driving this clown car..look at were we are.

It's o.k. BU was screaming at the boys after the last two and a half minute left..he will get them back on trac...did you see what I did there?

Plus you have a little MB30SD and you don't need to have a heart attack before next weeks game. hahahahahahahaha

  • In reply to nicholsra:

Yeah, who woulda thought we'd be in the NFC champ game? Especially after say the Giants game. Keeps Angelo safe, that's the only downer.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Man I loved it. I was only pissed off that Stokley got the third instead of Williams!

  • In reply to KissMyButkus:

All is right with the world -> Bears vs. Packers!!

  • In reply to KissMyButkus:

I got reamed for selecting Hasselbeck/Williams in the compo - so yeah, I loved the garbage time. No big yardage though I don't think, and Williams dropped four passes. I can pick Rodgers next week and use Cutty in the SB.

  • In reply to nicholsra:

I have tickets to the Pro Bowl but I'm thinkin there wont be any Bear sightings. Should be some cheese available!

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    Corey.... damn dude!

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

That Olsen drop on 1st down really hurt.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    Oh, and btw... Packers?

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    FUCKING DEAD!

  • In reply to gpldan:

Double Deuce... THAT'S WHAT YOU DO RUN THE ROCK!!! don't throw it.... wtf?

  • In reply to gpldan:

I agree with Trac. That call made no sense. Why bring out a trick play in a game that's already decided? If you want to use it next week, don't let the Pack get a look at it now.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

I don't know what Martz was fucking thinking but that's enough of that shit. Didn't need to do that.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Much better drive. Really working the short passes.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    another CONCUSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS????.......hey Fuckdodgers YOUR NEXT!!!

  • In reply to nicholsra:

I wonder how many "Concussing the opponent" drills the Bears did during the bye week.

  • In reply to Ufficio:

No kidding- they are brutal today....

    No thanks Murph.

  • In reply to nicholsra:

Even if Seatle gets a couple garbage time scores, as far as points allowed by a defense, this has to be the lowest in the playoffs so far...

  • In reply to nicholsra:

Shove that ball up your ass Reilley. The first was for your mouth.

  • In reply to nicholsra:

    UNCATCHABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • In reply to nicholsra:

    Another CONCUSS????

  • In reply to nicholsra:

  • In reply to nicholsra:

    Yeah, that was way cool!

  • In reply to nicholsra:

Damn, Bears. Jump on that loose ball! Would've preserved the shutout.

    So irritating.

  • In reply to Ufficio:

Although I guess it was worth it to be able to see Carroll demonstrate what a complete and utter pussy he is, for the second time this game.

  • In reply to nicholsra:

Skanks have admitted defeat. Any team that thinks they have a sliver of a chance to come back and win the game doesn't kick that field goal.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    yep..trac

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Giv'n love to our 85" Bears...I love it!!!

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

Is this where I post "OLSON HATERS: SHADDAP!" ?

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

This week's left-handed slap at Cutty was disguised as a statistic
"Quarterbacks making their first playoff starts are 5-19".

    Sorry, Jay-haters, now they're SIX and 19.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

I don't understand that statistic. Doesn't that mean there have only been 25 quarterbacks to ever start a playoff game? Doesn't every quarterback need a first playoff start? Context?

  • In reply to DocNitty34:

In the last X years. Not sure what X is.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

Ayyy Ohhwwww,,,Daaaa Bears Da Bears Da Bears Da Bears!!!

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

Well done, boys. Of course it WAS the Sea"hogs" so let's not get carried away with ourselves.

By the way, "All hail, NFC North!"

Take THAT you NFC (L)EAST butt-smoochers in the Eastern-biased media.

BTW, while driving to dinner tonight I actually heard Boomer Esiason doing a "Mea Culpa" on under-estimating the Bears on Westwood One radio's post-games wrap. I amost lost control of my vehicle.

    Better late than never, Norman.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

    It's probably been posted but,

    Opening line: Packers -3.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

    I'd take a third.

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

    Jeeeeeeeeeeesus.

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

Wow. What a great weekend of football. Are the stars aligning for the 2010 Jingle Bells?

It's the 25th anniversary of SB XX. The scoreboard said 24-0. Half-naked porky Bear fans drinking beer amidst snow flurries. Bodies of slain opponents being carried off on stretchers. Cocky QB running the ball in himself. One could be forgiven that we were back in the Eighties and it was hip to be square. Sweet. Bill Murray sweet.

    What a game.

I was maybe the only Bear fan who enjoyed the second half since I picked Hasselbeck/Williams for the contest, and I must admit I punched the air when Peanut played hot potato with Williams' second TD. MVP of the game for me I think, Mr. Peanut, although Corey Graham was again outstanding. Even Greg Olsen showed up for a half - and the balls on Martz trying his TE streak twice when they were least expecting it. Smurfs ain't doing it? Throw it to the big boys. Respect.

Respect also, and a game ball, to the offensive line. There, I said it. That was some good pass blocking (albeit against a team with 15 players on IR), although False Start Frank better cut that shit out against the Packers.

And that, Mr. Cutler, is how we do that ...

It was past four in the morning here when Jay Christopher walked off the field looking like the cat that got the cream, so I didn't want to sit up watching Brady pants the Jets. What a sweet little jolt the next day to see that it was Chubby Checker and the Jets that pantsed the Pats.

Two teams stand between us and a Lombardi, two teams we've beaten already. We'll have to be at our best to beat them, but it's game on. Twenty five years. Healthy defense? Check. O-line looking better? Check. Jay looking top drawer? Check. Special teams in the house? Check.

Mr. Tice, Mr. Martz, and the Sideline Yoda Master Maranelli, I salute you. Battle of the century up next. This is what it's all about. Our oldest rival standing between us and another run at Fatboy for the holiest of holies. And you just know Maranelli has kept a couple of aces up his sleeve for Mr. Rodgers, I hope he was watching the fall of Flacco.

    Let them come.

  • In reply to Ufficio:

    Oh Devin you tease

  • In reply to Ufficio:

Looked like Devin didn't even try to beat the punter there. WTF.

  • In reply to Ufficio:

We all said the same thing here... what about a Walter stiff arm?

  • In reply to Ufficio:

    Bad Jay, bad bad throw.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    Seriously.

  • In reply to Ufficio:

No convert on 3rd and 1? Come on!

  • In reply to gpldan:

That's the way to do it. Play to win.

    Lovie Smith: not a pussy.

  • In reply to Ufficio:

    Love it.

    Alls well that ends well!

Credit the punter on that one. He took a great angle.

60 minutes of smart tough football and we are in the NFC Championship. Let's do this. Don't give up big plays early, get the field position, no red zone turnovers, establish the run game, make the hot reads, create the turnovers, gang tackle and win the game.

  • Bears 41
    Seattle 0

    BEAR DOWN!!!

  • In reply to PhantomOne:

I hope you are as prescient as usual, Viva.

  • Ya SD, what Martz did today was very creative. That' not even for accounting for if a LB was originally on a blitz, then that means the other two LBS are on Forte and Manu, and a Safety must somehow keep up with Olsen. OH, and the corners are left one on one to keep up with Hester and Knox, or Bennett over the middle. Very risky.

  • This: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/writers/jim_trotter/01/16/bears.seahawks/index.html?eref=sihp

  • This is a team that has been slighted by local and national media since last season ended.
Burying Green Bay at Soldier Field in the biggest single game they have played in 70 years would be the cherry on top.
    So cool.
