  • Considering the weather, better shut down the laptop and start walking over to Soldier Field. Good luck to you, Shady and the Bears....

  • Damn, I wish I could be in the Chi-tizzle for this one. If not at game, at least somewhere in the city.

  • In reply to Ufficio:

Miller's Pub. Greatest pregame watering hole in the City.

  • Just got around to reading the nostalgia/beer/Doc alienating society post. You guys (and ladies) are the greatest.

I hope we smoke the Patsies.

One thing we have going for us is our D against the little flare passes. Brady loves those fuckers and gains a ton of yardage with them. I think we match up well against them. I'm not going to predict a win but I won't be surprised if we win.

    Fuck Yeah!

I forgot, LOL. I just popped my cherry. That's the first LOL I've ever posted. Fuck, now I'm up to 2. LOL. DOH!

  • metrodome collapsed

  • In reply to brocklanders:

    Negative asshole.

You could have said that the snow prevailed. Sheesh.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Wrigley is running a little behind the field today. Wonder if he knows the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor?

  • In reply to MB30SD:

I was kidding btw wrig (if that wasn't aparent).

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Arent we all always kidding? Except Doc?

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

True Murph. He's an uncompassionate jerk.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    Jerkweed.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

I'm bummed it isn't going to be a whiteout.

Somebody might mistake Tom Brady for the little match girl.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Giant fan has to re-route to Detroit. Lions game today and Giants-Vikes tomorrow. The RenCen will have three NFL teams staying in it at once.

Casinos should be hopping. I knew Detroit would find a way back.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    Probably a closed Packers fan.

    lol.

  • In reply to brocklanders:

They could relocate to Soldier Field. Considering the playoff implications, there'd probably be no problem willing the place with local, temporary Vikings fans. Oh wait, never mind. The turf...

  • In reply to brocklanders:

So it looks like the weather geeks missed again with the dire prdictions of a foot of snow?

    Go figure.

no they're calling for 27 degrees, windy with an inch of snow?

Heck, that's a day at the beach for Bear fans.

On 4-Letter radio, Herm Edwards and John Stashower (sp) just picked the Bears and Waddle picked them on NFL Network.

    Now I am REALLY concerned.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

    Al...+1

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

    FU#$!@#$%%!@##%K THE TALKING HEADS...!!!!!!!!!!

beyouches are all a bunch of pansy-asses anyway sit in your ivory tower you holes....those who can't play talk..simple!

as for our gladiators...going to be a tough game...time to play "BEAR BALL" smashmouth!

    BEAR THE F DOWN!!!!

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

    Fuckin Lions blow

  • In reply to Joseph:

Is that because they eat goats?

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

    Blow goats?

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Something really wrong with Joseph's avatar.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Rodgers on the bench for Packers last offensive series of the half. Haven't heard word on his return yet.

  • In reply to Ufficio:

Concussion, out for the game. COME ON LIONS, DON'T FUCK THIS UP.

  • In reply to Ufficio:

Rodgers out! No fucking way. Lol

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Rogers out for the game. Concussion. Go Lions.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Who woulda thought no score at half?

  • In reply to brocklanders:

    YAC will lbe key today.

When Brady hits Welker for 3 or 4 yards it has to STAY 3 or 4 yards.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

Definitely. I'm thinking how their tackling reverted to last year's form last week against Detroit from the way they were wrapping people up prior to that. If they don't recapture that, after halftime, I'll have to start doinfg stuff around the house rather than continually hitting my head against the table the rest of the game. Otherwise, I'll be out next week with a concussion....

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

i can't wait for ESPN to make more excuses after we win this one. Oh, sure the Bears won TJ, but it was snowy. Oh yeah, Thanks Boomer! Now let's all talk about Brady's hair!

  • In reply to thegooddoctor:

I kind of like his new hair style. That doesn't make me gay, does it? Not that there's anything wrong with that...

  • In reply to thegooddoctor:

    It's official: http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcnorth/post/_/id/20840/ford-field-it-is

    Vikes at ford on moday.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

What a logistics nightmare that has to be...

  • In reply to MB30SD:

watching Shannon Sharpe interview Lach, pep, Peanut, And Izzy. NICE!

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Let's hope it's so screwed up that they need to change the Bears game the following week.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

everyone but Shannon Sharpe picked the pats.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Ditka and Keyshawn picked the Bears. Who did Greenburg pick? Hopefully the Pats.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

oh fucking waaaa. just go away: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d81cd460c/article/favres-streak-could-be-over-as-qb-tells-people-he-likely-cant-go?module=HP_headlines

  • Lucky bastard SD. I yearn for that kind of solitude

  • In reply to MB30SD:

I can tell by the way you treat Wrigley.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

There is some awesome tape of the dome collapsing. Cameras are inside, not a soul to be seen and then it happens. Great tape, seems very surreal.

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

    Link please Murph.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Don't have a link, saw it on Fox NFL show. I'm sure you can find something. It's worth the look and the sound is awesome.

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

seen it also. Its looks kinda of cool.

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

Here is a Link of the MetroDome collapsing.

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

Thanks, Fres. That is freaking amazing. Missed it earlier.

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

Thanks for the Pam Oliver sighting. That woman is fine.

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

Now we find out if the Bears have any pride or just wanna go home.

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

Oh ... NOW ...we start to blitz him when the game is already over, okay ....

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

well, what can I say? As a woman, it's nice to see one of my own excel in the QB position...

  • In reply to BearsChick:

    Thanks, I needed that.

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

they moved this game so that it would be on national TV and we are getting waxed. And the we wonder why no one takes us seriously..

  • In reply to underway:

At least the Patriots are a good team, not excusing our performance.

  • In reply to underway:

well, I was listening to the pre-game show while making bourbon balls (with KY bourbon). Someone made the point that weather like this favors the team with the best offensive line. Man, were they right.

  • In reply to underway:

3rd and 9... Cutler throws about 5 yards to a completely covered Matt Forte. Are we sure that's not Shane Matthews out there?

  • In reply to underway:

I'm not watching a shut-out. To be the best ...well, we just ain't. 19 different starters on defense for the Pats this year? Kudos. Making the playoffs will just confuse things this year and ensure the clown car returns next year. We're a one and done team. I'm audi.

  • In reply to underway:

IM FUCKING DONE WATCHING THIS. I cant take losing a game but this shit, NO! Does our offense even want win?

  • In reply to underway:

    Done...

  • In reply to underway:

they finally call a penalty! How does a foot whole a whole ass in the air! They haven't called any holds! this game is crazy

  • In reply to underway:

They must jam receivers and trust the safeties to cover

  • In reply to underway:

Urlacher drops a sure interception. Everything's just falling apart here.

  • In reply to underway:

Lovie should be fired at halftime.

  • In reply to underway:

Im gone folks... cant stomach this shit...

  • In reply to underway:

Well, you have to hand it to Belichick. He's the only coach in the NFL with the balls to call something like that.

  • In reply to underway:

Worse than the Jets game. Only Bear who looks like he even wants to play is Danieal Manning.

  • In reply to underway:

What in the fuck was that! Nice going defense..just sit back and do fucking nothing and let Brady just have all day to hit an open guy! We deserve this loss...this is fucking bullshit...where's the coach on this one???

  • In reply to underway:

Hopes Lovie gets all pissed in the locker room again. Thank Jebus the Lions won today.

As for me? I think I'll have another beer.

  • In reply to underway:

Mr Belichick has checked in to Lovie's head.

The difference in attitude between these two teams is remarkable. One never quits, one can't wait to get off the field.

    We are better than this.

  • In reply to PhantomOne:

The Bears are what you see on the field. Nothing more, nothing less.

  • In reply to underway:

I can't remember the last time I turned off a Bears game at halftime, but every streak's gotta come to an end sometime.

  • In reply to Ufficio:

yea but we are suppose to be a good football team. We should not lose like this. Offense is laying an egg out there.

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

The defense gave up 169 yards on the Patriots second and third possessions. Facts are stubborn things.

  • In reply to Ufficio:

Here's a Canadian Ace to you all and let's as they say in T.V. land move on.

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

    They need superman.... something..jeez

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

We dont know how to block... this is disgusting to watch

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

Ok, I'm done! PS3 time now, and please God, end this game now!!

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

How can u represent Vikings, a Beastly kind of People and not Play outside? Its look like being a Lion but only eating salads. wtf.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

where's Matt Stafford's bum ass when you need him?

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Rodgers just took a shot to the back of the head.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

C'mon Lions. You can do this.

  • I'm assuming repairs will be made before we have to play there next week....

  • AND Cowher just said that his shocker of the 4th quarter is that the Bears won't make the playoffs. Are you fucking kidding cowher? You've been a talking head too long man.

  • Bill Cowher just picked the Bears to MISS the playoffs.........

  • Maybe it depends how much Tobi likes it? NAH!

  • "Giving each other the ball" and "STD".

Sounds like a Lance Armstrong porno.

  • I agree, Jennings was a prima donna there.

  • we gotta win this game, and the Lions need to win theirs. Going up two games is Huge.

  • Come on Lions you got this.

  • Maybe but not with my vote.

  • Anybody catch the video of the Metrodome Collapsing? Is there roof made out of a fucking balloon?

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

Actually, yeah. It's supported by air pressure.

  • In reply to pongjinn:

    weak!

  • Now someone explain to me how a team puts up 120 rushing yards in a single half, yet fails to score.

  • In reply to Ufficio:

Ufficio, apparently you havent been a Bear fan very long. Back in the lean years our beloved Bears would do that kind of thing on a regular basis. Back when Payton set the single game rushing record. We won the game 10 to 7. Payton ran for 150 yards the second half and we didn't score a point.

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

That was a sad day indeed, sir.

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

I really do not like Donald Driver.

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Hopefully this is a metaphore for what will happen to GB and the Pats.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    hhhhhhhhhhhhheeeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhhhhhhhheeeeeeeee!

  • In reply to MB30SD:

btw, with Rodgers out for the next two games, if the lions can pull this off, they are toast next week in foxborough... especially after we beat the pats today. Fucken A I love that the collective football media is shitting their pants today.

Welcome to the new world order fucko's!

  • In reply to MB30SD:

The Circle-jerk Clan of talking heads:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZ2zyXkVd5o

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Humpdome collapse has gotta be just what Wylf wanted most--shows the city/state that the Queens do have a sub-standard facility, and gets him off the hook for pushing so hard to get a new stadium when the team was stinking/choking. The stories will be less about Old Man Crying Game not getting Purple Jesus to the Promised Land, and more about 15 inches of snow (which ain't unrealistic for Minny, eh?) bursting their bubble.

Plus, it gives the Queens a built-in excuse for choking the rest of the season away: "Oh noes! We have to play outdoors! With a 41 year-old grampa at QB!"

Sadly, I'm rooting for Minny from here on ('cept against the bears, of course). This season is a train wreck for them, but I want them to play spoiler with the Giants, at least.

I don't like Rodgers getting another concussion. I like the guy--I certainly don't want him to do well against the Bears or when it might hurt the Bears, but he's a good QB, and a good guy. I'm worried his career might be in jeopardy.

Plus, I want Rodgers to do better than the Mississipi Cry-me-a-River.

Key to today's game I think is going to be tackling and ball protection. Let the Patsies dink-n-dunk, but if the Bears have any problems stopping the running game or YAC, and/or if the Offense has any issues keeping the ball off the ground, it'll be ugly. If, however, the Bears tackle well and don't cough up the ball, it'll be competitive. If they can put Hairplug Boy on his butt early and often, it'll be a Bears win.

    BEAR DOWN!

  • In reply to IBNO:

its has to be those new helmet. Their like fucking balls when they hit the ground.

  • In reply to IBNO:

    5:27 to go, Lions lead.

Football gods are smiling on us today, my friends!!!

  • In reply to IBNO:

Big choke from Lions' D on 3rd and 11. They're screwing up big time here after dominating all game.

  • In reply to IBNO:

Are the Lions gonna blow this thing?

  • In reply to MB30SD:

MB..HOLY SHEITE!!!!!!!!!!! that's the shit you would see in the movies...DAMN!

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

Since the dawning of football consciousness in about '84, but I'll admit I didn't exactly understand the game very well back in those days.

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

    LIONS WIN!!!!! FUCK YEAH!!!!!!!

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

Oh sweet jebus. the Lions are gonna win this game. how freakin great is that?

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

Nathan Vasher, helping out his old team.

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

Easy. They ain't won it yet. I did not hear the Fat Lady.

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

    Phewwww Lions win!

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

Detroit helped us...now time for our boys to take care of business. #BearDown

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

    AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    EAt it Fudgies!

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

There is the Fat Lady, in a duet with Dandy Don. Turn out the lights, the party's over

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

Lions did their job..now it's the Bears turn! How bad do they want it!

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

    Love. It.
Love it, love it, love it, love it.
    Love it.

OK, now I'm off to the sports bar to watch us build a 2 game lead on the Pack.
See ya on the flip side, boys.

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

What's the Packers div. record so far?

  • In reply to jdawg:

    3-1

  • In reply to jdawg:

    3-2 now!!!!!!

  • In reply to Ufficio:

Fres, bout the same odds as it being 70 degrees game time at Soldier Field.

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

    lol I see ya

  • In reply to Ufficio:

Calvin Johnson is a piece of shit.

  • Man if Carolina can do anything Useful for their season, they can beat the Falcons today.

  • Helps that Rodgers got his bell rung by a hit that honestly didn't look all that bad.

  • In reply to sjvl:

the ground hit him harder than the Lions player

  • In reply to sjvl:

D line has to get pressure. Third downs killed us on that drive.

  • In reply to sjvl:

Cmon Bears...not playing the Lions today. Gotta do better than that.

  • In reply to sjvl:

well, that didn't take long...gonna have to do better than that!

  • In reply to sjvl:

3rd and 10 then 3rd and 12, couldn't get off the field. Unacceptable.

  • In reply to sjvl:

    That was a close 1

  • In reply to sjvl:

what was that? The ball is brown, the snow is white. YOU CAN SEE IT.

  • In reply to sjvl:

    this. is. not. going. well.

  • In reply to sjvl:

who teaches these guys how to block. that was just horrible technique by Garza

  • In reply to sjvl:

    Pass?

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    Fail.

  • In reply to sjvl:

Tom Brady is one of the undead...a vampire. Watch how he hides on the sidelines. He must be destroyed by the stake.

Bears are playing on a snow waffle and Bears will defeat the Patriots. Temps will drop as time progresses - let me know when the frostbite hits Tommy's hands.

  • You got me beat Sd. I live in a large city when I'm working and I own a house in SE BC. It's a mining town of about 2,500 located in the mountains. Very quiet and peaceful but I see people every day. I also see large mammals every day in that town. Love it!

  • Geez, blow one goat and you never hear the end of it.

  • You forgot the LOL, Doc.

  • Well boys and girls...this is the shit that chap's my ass about living here in the southwest.......instead of having two potential SB teams...no these dipshits down here are giving me no NFC on FUX's and then the Donkeys' and "they are who we thought they were" on CBS...looks like I will be listening to the homies on WBBM today..better that way anyway.

  • Wait, wait!

    LOL

  • Lions win!!!! Excellente.

    Beer #2. Check.

    See ya at halftime.

  • Nice block Olsen.

  • A couple heavyweights circling on those first series...

  • Hey Cowher, guess what--the Lions beat the Packers. The playoffs are ours.

  • at least his picks are down this season. I think Brett Favre has thrown the most interceptions this year...but Peyton Manning is hunting him down for the prize

  • In reply to BearsChick:

    Chick on chick.. sweeeet.

(I know, but it was a softball, had to take a swing)

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    Dork. :)

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    FUCK!

  • In reply to MB30SD:

We just can't stop these guys. It's going to be a long day.

  • In reply to BearsChick:

we better get our shit together man.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    agreed

  • In reply to MB30SD:

They're too good. It's a matter of time.

  • In reply to BearsChick:

    meanwhile...the Jets continue to crumble

  • In reply to BearsChick:

    These camera angles do suck

  • In reply to derekd:

It feels like we're sitting on the top of the bleachers watching the game.

  • In reply to derekd:

They are a blocking machine.. Jeezus...

  • In reply to derekd:

Guess I was right to be scared of the run game =

  • In reply to derekd:

    Our tackling is piss poor!

  • In reply to derekd:

    FUCK FUCK FUCK

  • In reply to derekd:

Gonna be a real long game. Our defense better get their fucking act together!

  • In reply to RogerMinton:

Offense as well. Failing to convert on two third-and-managables against the league's worst third down defense isn't a good sign.

  • In reply to RogerMinton:

Even the new Nicholas Cage movie looks better than the Bears are playing (and it looks just as sucktastic as the last five movies Nick Cage has made...)

  • In reply to RogerMinton:

Offense too. Hasnt looked terrible but we've gotta put points up on a lot of our possessions from this point forward.

  • In reply to RogerMinton:

    Oh man challenge

  • In reply to RogerMinton:

This challenge might be the game

  • In reply to RogerMinton:

    Well, my Sunday is ruined.

  • In reply to RogerMinton:

We can't go down 21-0 and hope to win this thing

  • In reply to RogerMinton:

    FUCK FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • In reply to RogerMinton:

No way that is getting overturned.

  • In reply to RogerMinton:

knox was worried about bracing himself instead of protecting the football...

  • In reply to RogerMinton:

are you fucking serious? Ar ethese guys really this fucking good... or are we just sucking ass right now

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    Both.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    speachless

  • In reply to MB30SD:

protect the god damn ball... He was worried about bracing his damn fall...

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Well I guess Dandy Don is startin to sing

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

Peppers hasn't gotten past the line of scrimmage and doesn't look like he wants too and Urlacher is getting manhandled, da Bears?
    More like "snow bunnies" Pathetic!

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

Let's join him ... "Turn out the lights .... the party's over ..."

  • In reply to RogerMinton:

Ya gotta hold on to the ball.

  • In reply to RogerMinton:

We look just as bad as the Jets did when they got spanked by the Pats. Oh well, Brady is still a woman, and winning 1000 games can't change his sex.

  • In reply to BearsChick:

Well guys... like I said, if we were going to lose one, it would be this one. Let's go in and kick the Queens ass next week, then clean up the with the jets and the pack to sweep the North.

Just bummbed we're looking like the second fucking coming of the motherfucking jets. Fucken pisses me of. FUCK!!

  • In reply to BearsChick:

I'll take that woman at the QB spot... She is a precision scalpel

  • In reply to BearsChick:

Special teams is ready to play...

  • In reply to BearsChick:

Nice fight outta Manning... hope he starts a fire.

  • In reply to BearsChick:

my only comfort right now is that I am sitting in my home by a warm fire, and the beer in my fridge is free. Everyone who paid money for tickets to this game is cold, angry, and paying $10 for a beer

  • In reply to BearsChick:

Pretty weak holding call on Manumaleuna there.

  • In reply to BearsChick:

wow, everything's going our way today. Fuck.

Maybe we come out in the second half and pull an Arizona ala 06

  • In reply to BearsChick:

    hey, why catch the ball?

  • In reply to BearsChick:

oh, holy jesus... what in theee fuck is going on?!?!?!?

  • In reply to BearsChick:

Pats averaging 5+ yards a carry, very hard to see this changing.

  • In reply to BearsChick:

How far did we think we'd get without an offensive line anyway? This could be 42-0. Good afternoon, good evening and good night.

  • In reply to BearsChick:

need to get a big turnover of our own here

  • In reply to BearsChick:

Bears haven't come back from a 21-0 start since Jimmy Mac was our QB.

  • In reply to mikev:

    GAME OVER!

  • In reply to mikev:

the Lions hadn't won a game against the Packers since 2005.

  • In reply to mikev:

Pack it up and go home... This is ridiculous..

  • In reply to mikev:

    Fucking catastrophe.

  • In reply to mikev:

Might as well whoop some ass.. they are beating the shit out of us on the scoreboard.

  • In reply to mikev:

...wow- no flag on any of that?

  • In reply to BearsChick:

I hope we at least get a pick on Brady to ruin his streak

  • In reply to BearsChick:

    Fucken finally.

Our only hope if this continues like this. Brady = Concussion.

  • In reply to derekd:

jesus. At least we're not losing to the fucking lions today.

Crap maaaaaan. Gotta put a stop on this shit then get our game face on and come out fighting in the second. We're still on the game-start slide. We can come back from this.

  • In reply to derekd:

Only was I though Da Bears could lose this one was if they got down early...meh.

  • exactly what I said Doc! He cant be doing that criss cross shit he always trys.

  • is it me or are we getting screwed over on the Red calls? Holding? what bout offensive pass interference on that first TD? FUCK!

  • Like what did we think, that the Pats couldn't play in snow? Shit - they perfected it.

  • Lovie is a genius.

  • we need to block the field goal

  • If they were actually trying, I'd be with you, no matter what the score. But they're not.

  • lol I fucking stormed out of my living room cussing and talking shit. Im fucking angry!

  • The only redeeming point from today is the fact the Packers got beat by the Lions and the Packers are going to NE next weekend. This game is a total loss, they just need to finish out without any injuries and hope they can at least make it respectful. Although I think that is out the window at this point. I knew it was not going to be a good game when at the kickoff my 10 year old daughter started puking. She grabbed the closest items which was a laundry basket. Everything has been down hill since then.

  • In reply to brandonpurcell:

You are right. With GB blowing it in Detroit and Rodgers uncertain next week, this game changes nothing. Barring a complete collapse the bears will probably win the division easily. GB will most likely loose the next 2 weeks with NE and NYG on the schedule. - Cheer up.

  • In reply to windypack:

Not like this looks like a team capable of a complete collapse or anything.

  • In reply to brandonpurcell:

Without question one of the worst performances by a Bears team in memory. I didn't want to admit it to myself but it was over after the second drive, you could tell the Bears had brought a knife to a gun fight and it wasn't going to be pretty. This is what happens when you get outplayed, out schemed, out coached and out worked by the other team...total devastation.

I hope they never forget the feeling of Belichick going for the dagger at the end of the half, if you want to play with the big boys you better have the Man panties on.

  • In reply to punkyQB:

That last touchdown was all Lovie being a jackass and not taking timeouts trying to get a score up. BEGGING the Patriots to score again... GDamnit, you gotta show *fight* in a situation like that, but Lovie just does not get it.

  • In reply to brandonpurcell:

So much for my authentic Jim Morrissey 20th Anniversary Superbowl XX hat bringing us good luck. All I can say is, thank God the Packers lost. If the Vikings can beat NY tomorrow night and we can beat them next week, we'll still be ok. And the Packers have these guys next Sunday at Foxboro...

  • In reply to brandonpurcell:

    No shut out!

  • In reply to brandonpurcell:

Poor Shady and Jeff, rough sitting through that in this weather. Crown's probably up in a warm sky box.

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

That was another reason I am glad I didn't win those tickets. I have school monday and probaly would have been stuck there. Also, That suit doesn't keep you warm. I would have died today in the cold and seeing us getting our ass whooped.

  • In reply to brandonpurcell:

o thank god. Im praying for a Miracle. PLEASE!

  • In reply to brandonpurcell:

Wrigley was so obviously right. This team or (perhaps more to the point) coaching staff, it who we thought they were.

  • In reply to Mastodon:

    sheeesh, dude please dont.

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

But it's true, we beat the Eagles, that's it. We're a second rate team and saying anything else is Homerism. We all love them, but trying to pretend that we're awesome is just pathetic.

  • In reply to brandonpurcell:

Seriously, that game was so pathetic that CBS changed coverage during halftime to the Jets/Dolphins game. That is not a fucking playoff team, who cares what the record says. Lovie needs to go for the love of god.

  • In reply to number1ninja:

    why is that?

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

We are too a playoff team. The Packers lost to the LIONS. And the Patriots got spanked by CLEVELAND. Teams get whopped sometimes. It does not discredit them completely. Complete discredit comes when you are 1-7 halfway through the season (Dallas) or when you just plan up the ante on the suck factor with each successive game (Favre). The Bears have had a few bad beatings this year, but never a string of them. We have already scored more points in this game than the Jets scored against the Pats.

    We ARE playoff material.

  • In reply to BearsChick:

Two and done, at best. Our lines are just not good enough. Despite the fact that the Dline has looked okay, against a real Oline they clearly cannot get it done. So no way we beat the Falcons.

And the oline still sucks; as bad as any I can remember. No may to paper over that fact.

  • In reply to BearsChick:

Well, it could have something to do with being down 36-0 at the half.
This ain't Cutler's fault. We got whipped on D as bad as any game last year.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

I didn't mean to imply it was one persons loss- the entire team carries this burden just curious why Cutler chooses horrible passes vs being sacked.

  • In reply to CrispieQueen:

Of course he's going to press...he's trying to make plays to extend the game. Turnovers are a natural extension of that. If he was a stat first qb about stats, he would have started laying down and taking sacks by the end of the first quarter.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

I'm referring to under 2 minutes in the game- there is no chance at extending the game. Why hand another interception to them with a pretty red bow on top? Just seems silly, imo.

  • In reply to CrispieQueen:

5 tds down, you can make the same argument with 15 minutes left.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

Would you rather lose 40 something to 7 to the Patriots or 7 to 3 to Detroit? I will take the beatdown by the Patriots.

  • In reply to brandonpurcell:

Aah the agony of defeat. Just think: we'll be rooting for these fuckers in a couple weeks. Kind of.

At least Green Bay lost too.

Good Night, NFC North Still In First Place Bears.

  • In reply to sjvl:

You'll be rooting for them next week. And because of the playoff implications, we're all Vikings fans tomorrow night...

  • In reply to tobijohn:

    Ewww, that's gross.

  • In reply to brandonpurcell:

Oops 36-7...I figured they would try to score another touchdown knowing the Patriots.

  • In reply to brandonpurcell:

Patriots any day. At least they have some field "cred".

  • In reply to brandonpurcell:

    *** Sorry, ya'll. ***

I'll take my medication (another bottle of two of La Fin Du Monde should do the trick) and take it from there.

  • In reply to Mastodon:

Wish that option still worked. My only remaining vices are sugar and caffeine. Guess I'll go knock off a half gallon of Blue Bell ice cream. Hmm, what'll it be? Blackberry Cobbler or Tropical Paradise?

  • In reply to tobijohn:

    Blackberry sounds awesome!!

  • In reply to brandonpurcell:

You're kidding, right? 7-3 to Detroit one hundred times out of one hundred.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

D realistically only gave up 26 points. They had nothing to work with. Our O gave up 4 turnovers, a bunch of three and outs when even we had good field position. Also Our ST gave NE good Field position. I dont blame this on cutler fully but he did have 3 turnovers from him alone.

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

"Only" 26 points... I want a pair of your rose colored glasses Fresno :) *But I get your point.

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

Problem is they gave them all up in the first half! That dictated EVERYTHING else the O did. This team relies on balance.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

FINALLY someone who understands what happened. The D, especially the line, got their asses totally kicked today. At least in the first half - I could not watch it go on. Did it get worse, Posse?

  • In reply to Mastodon:

No, NE just started eating up clock in the 3rd.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

The lack of holding calls on some of the NE runs in the first quarter were astonishing. I mean, they were baaaaad.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

But unsurprising. The Patriots get calls ALL the time since pretty boy became QB.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

    Well that was merciful.

  • In reply to BearsChick:

Just of the one-and-done pissy roster, badly managed kind ...

  • In reply to number1ninja:

Anyone know a game thread? Just got home, I know the score, but still want to watch the end of the game.

  • In reply to TheFifth:

  • In reply to TheFifth:

    YES URLACHER FUCKING KILLED HIM!!!!!!!!!!

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

Maybe he'll learn to shut his friggin' mouth.

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

Anyone have any insight as to why Cutler feels the need to throw when he's under that much pressure? Being serious here- I'm either missing something or I should be playing QB instead of him. Which is it?

  • In reply to CrispieQueen:

Actually, if you can play offensive tackle you might want to head towards Bourbonnais come June.

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

Cutler's thrown away every chance to even save face here. We'd better hope he learns how to play in cold weather or we're going to have some disappointing Januarys.

  • In reply to TheFifth:

  • 3 and out. WOW! is this fucking offense gonna do anything.

  • +1

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

Agreed. I'm sick of the negativity and of the media thinking we suck. They said we were failures after the Giants killed us and guess what? We came back and won five games in a row. When the Jets got spanked, the media said, "oh wow, the Patriots are good." But when we lose, they say, "Oh wow, the Bears suck." DOUBLE F-ing STANDARD AND IM SICK OF IT

  • Offensive turnover killed us and the fact that our offense decided to show up until the 3rd quarter.

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

I only watched the first half, and will not watch more. The bottom line it that neither of our lines are good enough. THe Patriots TOTALLY DOMINATED the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. It was SO BAD, when Manomoolah got completely owned, knocked on his ass, and the Dlineman that did it fell over him, that holding was called on the Bears. While in 45 years of watching football, I quite literally cannot remember a worse call (although if I ever watch a replay I might change my mind), the Bears deserved it.

  • At least we have scored more points against the Patriots than the jets did. I take comfort in that. Also in my Goose Island mild winter...

  • In reply to bigrobstunner:

    Thanks for the link Rob

  • In reply to CrispieQueen:

No problem! too bad it's such a slaughterfest.... Proud that you are going down with the ship like the rest of us....

  • In reply to bigrobstunner:

Took a breather but yeah, lifelong Bears fan so I know it's a marathon not a sprint.

  • In reply to bigrobstunner:

Offense gave three turnovers. Two of them gave them 10 points. Not to mention a bunch of three and outs they had.

  • In reply to bigrobstunner:

oh and 1 more turnover. Offense lost this for us.

  • In reply to bigrobstunner:

I believe that if our Offense would of played better we could of had a chance. They gave up 10 points, and three turnovers. This should be 26-7 ballgame. Our offense screwed us

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

o gawd fresno, get serious. The first two Pats TDs were 85 and 87 yards drives.

  • In reply to Mastodon:

me get serious. One game and your ready to hit the panic button. I am being seriouse. Our offense screwed us over. Im not sayin the D hasnt fucked up but they have made this game winnable. Has our offense helped the d at all? even with the field position they have gotten?

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

I only watched the first half. The defense did well twice to hold the Pats to FG after the O gave the ball away. But they were already down 14-0 after giving up two giant TD drives to the Patriots.

The blog opinion certainly seemed to be that we could not afford to play from behind in this one.

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

Nope, the Giants is when the panic button got pressed. Seahawks, Redskins, Patriots game the damn thing broke off ...

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

I hate the way chester taylor runs. Dude cmon fucking run it str8.

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

Why does Tom Brady always seem personally offended whenever he is sacked? It's like, "omg...he had the audacity to touch me and my greatness"

  • In reply to BearsChick:

He sends that look at Bridget Moynahan as well.

  • In reply to gpldan:

Just wait. The son he had with Bridget Moynahan is gonna be a kick-ass QB and the one he had with Gisele is going to be a non-heterosexual fashion designer.

    I would love that outcome.

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

All this and Kyle Orton takes a fantasy shit on the field in Arizona.

So my DBB FF team is done. The Bears were humiliated.

  • In reply to gpldan:

The most humiliating part of all of this is that I was foolish enough to believe the Bears had a chance to win this game. What a dumb ass I am.

On the bright side, at least they have not lost to the Lions. Officially, anyway.

  • We're fine - this one just went dogshit early, at least partially thanks to some horrendous, horrendous officiating (or lack thereof)...and this is an offense that depends on far more balance than you can afford when you're down five TDs in one half.

  • Hope he had a lot!

  • Oh the Pats are good Doc, very good. No excuses. These conditions were allegedly favoring us according to the 'experts' who also missed out on the fact that there would be no pass rush. I don't like that we're blaming field conditions now.
