  • I haven't been around here long enough or made any substantive contributions to the blog content to feel comfortable picking anybody but I applaud a very democratic idea. Anyway:

    Bears -3.5
    Rams -3
    Falcons -3

  • First. I win. Seriously.

  • In reply to Shady:

Damn you out-of-nowhere John! But seriouly, Id love to go. I mean, I actually know who Noah is and will not only buy multiple brews, there could be some nachos and dogs thrown in as well. Not to mention I can actually GO to the game. Sincerely your blog partner, Shady.

  • In reply to Shady:

OK, Shady gets my 1/2 vote....

  • In reply to tobijohn:

And only as long as he's buying...

  • In reply to tobijohn:

El blogpadre and Senior Briar get as many cervasas as they want amigo. I'm not happy until Noah gets sauced and Jefe starts singing show tunes.

  • In reply to Shady:

How much is a beer at Soldier Field?

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

    Don't ask.

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

    Bears -3.5
    PATRIOTS -3
    Bills +5.5

  • In reply to Shady:

I haven't posted on DaBearsBlog in a while, but I've been avidly reading for 5 years. For most of that time I lived in New Hampshire, where I went to college, and Connecticut, where I first worked out of college. I grew up in Chicago a huge Bears fan like the rest of my family, and it was all that we know and love about being an NFL fan.

Then I moved to New England. And I was surrounded by bastard Patriot fans, who knew nothing of the NFL before Belichick and Brady, who have zero history, who now act as if playoff wins are their birthright, promote rules to protect QBs and all offensive players from hits and sweep multiple instances of Spygate under the rug. These were the people I was surrounded by from 2001 (yes my first year there was their first SuperBowl, I was rooting like crazy for the Rams) until 2008, when I finally moved back to Chicago.

There would be nothing that would make me happier than to see our team, our Bears, beat the pass-heavy Pats with great defense, special teams, and a resurgent running game.

This is my case for the game next Sunday. Beers will be bought, navy and burnt will be worn, Brady's hair may even be cut without his consent. AND THE BEARS WILL BEAT THE F-ING PATRIOTS GODDAMNIT. BEAR DOWN!

  • In reply to GreenLantern411:

Patriots fans are so smug. Can't stand 'em.

I do take pleasure in reminding them who THE BEARS beat in the Super Bowl.

I am all in on the hair-cutting thing. Joe College trying to look - what? Still haven't figured out what he's trying for with that stringy hair. Bleck.

  • In reply to sjvl:

I'm thinking 2-0 in the big game would be righteous!

  • In reply to GreenLantern411:

Then everyone show up at a parking lot with Taylor and fight like Black Friday at Best Buy.

  • In reply to GreenLantern411:

good to have you Lantern. i like the condensed bears fandom history lesson because you set up your comment regarding idiot Boston/New England fans perfectly. they are like cartoon characters.

  • In reply to tobijohn:

as my comment last blog about superbowl here we come. Yea im pounding a keg of kool aid right about now. But why shouldnt I be? Our defense is #1 special teams was pretty fuckin good last time i checked, and our Offense is starting to gel. I honestly think that if our offense can seriously start putting points up like they did against eagles, with our solid D and ST. The sky is the limit.

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

Exactamente hermano. No elite teams in this league anymore. We have a shit hot defense, a ridiculous return man, and a handsome QB from a town called Santa Claus. Let them come.

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

    +1

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

If Shady for real will dress as Giselle Bundchen, he gets my vote for the tickets. If he gets the tix and reneges on the deal the punishment would have to be SEVERE!

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

Just call me Tommy's little snow angel! Hehe.

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

No chance I can go, so I nominate Irish.

    Bears
    Bears
    Bears

  • In reply to sjvl:

Damn. I wish I lived in that hemisphere. Thanks anyway, Sarah Jane Victoria Lynn ....

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

Ok, Irish. You still have one right, and it's Jane. Keep trying on the others....

  • In reply to sjvl:

    Susan Jane Violet Langston

  • In reply to Mastodon:

    Hmmm. Think Italian.

  • In reply to sjvl:

    Ah, Bachimo le mani ....

    Sophia Jane Violetta Laura ...?

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

    Better!

  • In reply to sjvl:

    Sophia Jane Vitorria Loretta ?

    or ...

    Sophia Jane Vitorria Lucia ?

  • In reply to Mastodon:

So assuming no one else can go (johnny, GP himself, Crown, etc...)

    I'm going with Coach.

Sorry Shady, I know you're a legacy guy... but you can

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Let's hope there IS a next season - if these guys can't get a CBA in place the owners are going to lock out the players and there will be no football next year. Live it up while you can, right? By the way, do you have any Bears baby gear yet for the new guy?

  • In reply to Mastodon:

    OH GIVE ME A BREAK:

    http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d81ca0ea5/article/report-nfl-knows-eagles-not-pleased-about-hits-on-vick?module=HP_headlines

  • In reply to sjvl:

    Oh, they can fuck off.

If Vick doesn't slide then Vick will get hit like a running back, because THOSE are the rules, Coach Fat-ass.
Philly is the absolute worst; not only are the fans front-runners, but the organization has no class.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

Oh, yes, MB, they can just fuck off.

This was so absurd, I had to post it.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

That teams full of puss skirt wearing Wimbelton players

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

    Rams
    Falcons
    Colts

....Just in the nick of time?

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

    Bears, Niners, Bills

    Gotta love the homer picks.

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

Ok, Irish is in another hemisphere, so I cast my Vote B for:

Bears85Sweetness23 - our TV star blogger Superman dude.

  • In reply to sjvl:

I'd vote for him if we can agree on the sign to bring, like: "Julius Peppers is to Tom Brady as Kryptonite is to Superman" haha

  • In reply to Shady:

That can be done.. gonna need a bigger sign though

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

    A photo of Brett Favre's junk! Deal-closer ...

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

Disagree. Think we've seen enough of that already....

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

I vote for the big cheesy

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

Yes, like a poll. Poll tax - the brilliant football analysis and "contributions" from "participants and "contributors".

  • In reply to sjvl:

If you guys pick me... I will wear my suit again.

Lol I can make it to the game and will go.

and if you guys don't want me to go, then do what MB said and I will choose someone.

  • In reply to sjvl:

lo @ ppl coming from out of nowhere and posting only when ticket give-aways happen. y'all are funny. i nominate the Superman dude to get the tix (him on TV was utterly priceless).

    Bears
    Rams
    9ers

  • In reply to FQD1911:

    FQ, your so sweet.

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

    AWWWWWWWWWW

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

So Murph, you want to go? What about Johnny? Anyone else? Crown?

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Thanks MB, but the heart and cold weather don't hit it off any more. I have been to many great and memorable Bears games over the years. I think it would be great to send a blogger who hasn't been to a game. I just couldn't resist the me me me thing. LOL

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

Are you well enough to go Murph? You've got my vote if you are. I'd just be worried that you'd buy the farm right there and then if Hester breaks the record. I couldn't live with myself ...

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

Ya know the cold makes it rough to breathe. If it was warmer I'd be all in. I think I'll sit at home and watch this one. Although when I make that final payment on the farm, I can't think of a much better place to be than a Bears game.

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

    Fair enough, Murph. Be well.

Okay Artoo, you got my vote - but I want to see your better half go as Wonder Woman and have the rope of truth lasooed around her neck while you're at it. Smell the glove!

  • In reply to MB30SD:

I would go but last night but I partied like Led Zeppelin mixed with Fres at my block party and stayed up until 5am because the baby was at the mother in laws house. I think i will be grounded for that game. If any of you guys are Group A blood type or don't need a portion of your liver and kidney please consider donating it to me. I'm hurting.

  • In reply to hollywood1:

The liver is evil and must be punished...like tomorrow morning.

  • In reply to TheFifth:

Yeah, if you don't put a stake in its heart, it's just going to keep coming back.

Do it for the children, waffle.

  • In reply to TheFifth:

fuck man super crazy.. The funny thing is that its the same fucking guys. Shit man we been talkin this long?

  • In reply to TheFifth:

oh shit forgot my name use to be California Bear fan. Fuck man its been a long one.

  • In reply to TheFifth:

    http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/behindthemic/#20101129_btm_howie_bears

    WE ARE CONTENDERS

  • In reply to TheFifth:

    My vote goes to Shady.

    A. I live in San Diego and won't be able to make it to a game until the 26th.

    B. He's the reason I was introduced the blog almost 3 years ago. I saw a post of his on your boy Roy's old site when Roy was on a long ass hiatus. Shady encouraged the few fans in that community to check out DBB. I've been a fan of Jeff's 2 cents and reading you guys getting way too high on the highs and way too low on the lows ever since. I visit DBB almost every day but don't always post. When I do chime in, I get lit up for being such an infrequent poster.

Regardless, I'll be around as long as you guys are. I love that there are people who think about da Bears not just as much, but apparently, even more than I do...which blows my fuckin mind! Thanks Shady(Good Luck), thanks Jeff, thanks boys, thanks Bears.

I told you guys this season was going to be "Exciting"!

Let's get one step closer to taking the division tomorrow!

    C'mon Niners!

    mmmBearsss

December 7, 1941 is "A date which will live in infamy" after Pearl Harbor got bombed and the US entered WW2.

December 7, 1980 was a great day in Bears history. Thirty years ago this Tuesday, the Bears stomped the Packers 61-7. My Dad and uncle bought my Grandpa and their other brother, who are Packers fans, green shirts with just the score of the game and made them wear the shirts for pictures at Christmas. It was beautiful.

  • In reply to MatthewIsMyForte:

I was gonna throw myself in the tix mix, but I like the idea of Shady going to his first Bears game.
Besides, gpldan wouldn't want the Blogfather corrupted by a cheesehead who drinks beer like an untreated diabetic drinks water.

  • In reply to TheFifth:

Full disclosure - I've been to TWO games in my lifetime. The 1st was in 1993 as part of my buddy's 9th birthday. I don't remember much outside of the terrible seats and rowdy fans who taught us a few new words. The last time was two years ago against the Jacksonville Jaguars in the middle of December. Quite possibly the coldest game I've ever been to. Amy Freeze came on the jumbo-tron and announced it was something like 30 below and the crowd went nuts. The players and staff on the Jags sideline looked at us like we were crazy. I have a feeling the Pats game is going to be quite similar. Can't wait to bear down. Go Bears!

  • In reply to MatthewIsMyForte:

Thanks buddy - always a pleasure to see you around!

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

would've put your name on there, but couldn't remember your handle. Murph shut up lol

  • In reply to FQD1911:

FQ, you like the superman thing huh? Kinky stuff man.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

well not really superman...more like wonderwoman. fucking her in her invisible plane was a satisfying experience (and cold).

wonder if the TSA or FAA would have a problem with me joining the mile high club w/ all those little children watching her smoke my pole...? *shrugs*

  • In reply to FQD1911:

MB(even though he can't go), IrishSweetness(even though he can't go), Trac(even though he is gone), Doc, Murph,FQ, Lobo, Jdawg, Shady, Ohh.. how could I forget the Coach.

I can't choose till I know who can go. But it's looking like Coach, Shady, and Murph.

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

not in chicago (although maybe next year, might will put my ring in the hat for 1 of these tickets)

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

a fucker you forgot me. haa I had my chhance but plane tickets are ridonkulous

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

I did forget you. Really sorry man, yeah, that's why I drive lol

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

What's Southwestern Airlines banging on about $59 dollar tickets for ? Is that one of those deals where the taxes are like $300 dollars and you pay for your oxygen?

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

Lest I drag this on much longer, I will go with Shady on this.

Without Coach, I don't think any of us understand the term Dook Lasanga. And for as much filth that Coach brings us, he takes an equal amount OUT - being instrumental in running racists like Jersey off the forum. I salute Coach. But Shady has simply paid his dues. I came to DBB at the start of last season, the inauguration of the Cutler era. I've been lucky in football. I grew up on the Irish southside (85th and Western, Beverly) and was here for a lot of Bears games, including attending the fog bowl looking for Randall Cunningham in the mist like a sci-fi movie and having people pass the rumor up the rows that Maurice Douglas picked a ball off, because nobody could see it happen. I moved out in the mid 1990s to Colorado. I got to live there during Elway's last hurrah, the super bowl years.

Point of all this is, I've been lucky to have local team success follow me around. I watched the Grossman era from afar, and so Shady's longevity means something. Being here for that joker must have been gutting. So much hope, the guy is injured his early career and he comes back and now everyone's sure this guy is going to rock it, even though while Orton was keeping the seat warm for him all he was doing was winning games ugly. All those weeks of Good Rex, Bad Rex.

This weekend, my GF and I rode the crazy beatdown drunk bus of Bears fans. Holy shit this was a crazy bus. We left LaGrange and went to the Detroit RenCen on Saturday. We were in the lobby as the Bears unloaded and came in from their bus, with about 100 other fans. I watched Lovie walk in, everybody laugh as somebody yelled "Professor Martz, over here!" when Martz walked in, I saw Mike and Ginny toddle right past me. I couldn't believe Ginny made the trip, I felt the ghost of George watching over her.

I got a wave from Johnny Knox, who is much taller than he looks like on TV (he looked 6'1" or 2), and the last guy to saunter off the bus, the ONLY guy to stop and sign autographs was, and I was shocked on this, was Butter. I yelled "Kristen is HOT" to Cutler, no reaction.

We got sloshed at dinner with Bears fans everywhere in downtown Detroit, or the zombie free zone between the RenCen and the Greek at least, and it was fun. So MANY Bears fans. Met some nice people, but our bus - damn. I am getting too old to handle the drunks crawling on all fours to the bus john to wretch. We had this beat to shit ex-Trailways bus that the rear axle was going to go at any time. 12 hours on the road. Brutal.

We get to the game, and the stadium is 50% Bears. People are holding signs that say "Soldier Field EAST" and the problem is, Bears fans are not by section. It is, no lie, every other person on every row. It looked like a orange and baby blue string of beads every row.

This was NOT a good idea. Lions fans were mostly funny and cool and lay down, even waiving a white towel called The REAL Terrible towel. The vendors would yell "screw Pittsburg, this is the REAL towel! The we ARE terrible towel! Be the first to wave the white flag of surrender!"

But then, you see, the Lions came onto the field, and you could tell this crowd, it pissed them off. They would make gestures like they weould put their hands up as shades and look like they were searching in the crowd and yell "We're looking for Lions fans!" I was in Sec 138 at the bottom, right behind the goal posts.

The Bears got off to a bad start, and Stanton was a handful, and Cutler did not look sharp at first and got sacked. Now, the fights started. I was trying to hold down a Lions dickhead next to me, doing a bit of jawing but trying to keep it civil. Others - not so lucky.

Then, in the 2nd half, came Suh's forearm to Cutler's back and then it was on like Donkey Kong. Security got very very busy.

Even some scuffles after the game on the street. Lions fan is living in the hellhole of downtown Motor City and is unhappy about it. On the plus side, the RenCen doubles as GM's showroom, and there are lots of sharp Chevys and Cadillacs, so maybe Detroit is back. Who knows.

Even the guy who was jawing with us, finally gave up and his frustration was really evident. "GOD, we just suck, we cannot play four quarters, we are losers." I felt bad for him. I told him at least Detroit shows up, which is more than I can say for the Bengals, who have quit their coach and quit the season. It didn't help.

So I respect Shady for longevity and DBB life through the Rexy era. Because, what I noticed during that game yesterday - it's good to have Jay Cutler. Say what you will, but his arm is something amazing. Bennett has become his slant-in stud, along with Forte. He may be droopy dog in body language after the sack, but he gets up and slings it again. He made good reads, made a couple of solid throws to Manofmoolah, who really has this ugly ass jelly belly thing going - and is a real live NFL elite QB.

It would be fun to see Brady again. I first saw him against Plummer at Mile High. He is amazing, the modern Joe Montana. Great arm, great timing and sense of the game. Bellichek has 50 IQ on Lovie. Should be a great great game.

So enjoy Shady, you put in the time. Save the wig unless you're going as Tom, not Gisselle, his hair is longer. Bear fucking Down and all that. We seem to play up or down to the level of our opponent, so we will see if we can be as up as a real playoff team is.

    Have fun!

I submit my proxy vote to GPLDAN, and ask that a collection be taken up to send me to Longboat Key, Florida for the next four months all expenses paid. Alternative site Del Boca Vista.

After thirty seconds, considering my age and WEATHER FORCAST,a proxy vote seemed most appropriate. I was surprised it took thirty seconds.

  • In reply to FQD1911:

Jeff, Why can't you just put all of our names on here and then we just click the thing next to our names and it adds up our votes..

    Like a poll.

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

Im going with the B approach

    Bears -3.5
    Browns +4.5
    Bills +5.5

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

If any of you guys are going to Sundays game in Detroit, stop by and say whats up. Will be in section 126 row 2(Bears side).

As much as the 2 games we lost at home to Seatle and Washington pissed me off, I think we have all seen a much different team coming out of the bye. The defense is playing lights out and the offense is playing smart. I think if Cutler can keep his composure, this team can be great.

I live in Chicago so I'm always available for a game but much rather see a fellow DBBlogger who hasn't experienced Soldier Field to win the tix. Expecially since we are in a playoff hunt. Good luck to the winner. I might be going to that game and will definitly find you guys and share a toast.

    Bear Down

  • In reply to Joseph:

Joseph I second that thought. Let a first timer, frequent contributor, non-douche win the ticket. Someone who'll leave his criticisms for the blog and who'll yell his lungs out at the game. I'm available too and can hang at Rossi's the night before the game as well!

I'm braving the sloppy weather to go to Detroit. I don't know what side I'm sitting on but Joseph I'll look you up if I can. I'll be the Korean guy wearing #6. Bear Down!

  • In reply to Jokey:

I'll look Rossi's up when out there. If you come to my section, just yell DBB real loud and I'll find you. Have fun

  • In reply to Joseph:

Rossi's is a dive bar on State St in our fair city. One of Blogfather's and my favorite bars.

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

We are the dangerous NFC team now. Fuck atlanta. Fuck the Packers. We got run game pass game Defense and special teams. The other top NFC teams are one or two dimensional, as for us we are a MULTIHEADED FUCKING MONSTER! If we get homefield advantage. SHIT BEST BELIEVE!

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

what ever happen to GHOST OF HALAS? love the guys knowledge

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

Was Ghost old? I know us older guys, if all of a sudden we don't show up anymore, we might have gone to the Big Game in da sky!

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

    Wow. Drop that bomb Murph.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Just figure I'd let ya know. If I quit showin up without signing off, ya'll know what happened.

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

That would bum me out...and Ghost had some great observations. I hope he's not on permanent hiatus.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

I think Ghost made an appearance around Halloween. Seriously.

  • In reply to jmcyclone:

The worst part about shitting the bed is getting caught sniffing the sheets. lol

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

OK -- time for me to give my best case

I believe I've been posting on this blog at least since the 2007 season. I've never been to a Bears game. I was born in Lake Forest hospital in 1963 and was christened a Bears fan at that time. My grandfather tutored Halas in college in chemistry so he could stay on the football team. And, if chosen, I will bring top notch Kentucky bourbon with me and try to borrow my nephew's fake binoculars to sneak some into the game. Finally, I will wear my 1985 "the Fridge t-shirt" (still fits, sort of) and will flash it to the faithful.

  • In reply to jdawg:

    Bears, Bills, Rams

  • In reply to jdawg:

Ya know with everyone expressing strong interest in going to games. Next season we should do a DBB game. Get a block of tickets, all meet at a game, either home or away. Maybe a catered food and drink thing the night before the game. Would be interesting to see the people and faces behind the bloggers.

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

Count me in. Sounds like a blast.

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

I would go to that. That would be great.

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

    Roger that.

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

    That...would be dope.

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

Sounds like an excellent idea ... Stubhub ... an EXCELLENT idea.

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

Hell yea... Dude if we got to the Superbowl some of us should meet up! AWW SHITT!

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

yea seriously. this would be perfect (not far from Dallas at all)

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

man -- not even a little love? I'm telling you, I'll try to score some Rip Van Winkle 12 year and my dog answers to me whistling the Bears fight song!

  • In reply to jdawg:

I'll pick you if you wanna go. I am not gonna vote for my self

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

I'm way too sexy for this blog, Murph.

  • In reply to jdawg:

1963 was a very good year, jdawg.

  • In reply to sjvl:

I love those binoculars. Hold about a pint. Make it some strong stuff.

  • In reply to jdawg:

I would love to go but two weekends in a row of driving across multiple states to see the Bears play would probably not get the stamp of approval. MNF in three weeks, bitches!
My vote goes to.......Crown. I have a long list of regs that I'd love to get stuck picking up Jeff's tab, but gotta pick one.

    Nice.

Fake binoculars filled with alcohol? Genius. Only a fake oxygen tank (with resupplies packed underneath the wheelchair) can beat that. Colostomy hook up. Oxygen mask connected to a pre-cooled four-gallon container of doobage smoke ...way to enjoy a game.

The only guys I know who have been blogging longer than me are Shady and PhilfromSanAnTex (?). I nominate Phil because Shady already has one vote.

If Phil can't go I'd like to nominate Shady.

If neither of them, than -
Coach, Crown, MB, Posse, Al, or Southside Matty, (in no particular order) have my vote.

  • In reply to PhantomOne:

Thanks for the nomination Viva (in no particular order).

I live in San Diego, have a two week old... who's now only letting us sleep 2-3 hrs a night (you bastard irish, take the curse off!), so I wouldn't be able to go... but next year, you guys better send me to a game damn it!

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    You earned it.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    Remember MB, heavy-duty-knock-em-out milk ...

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

Fucken A irish... little bastard fooled us. First week and a half = Angel with 4-5 hr sleep blocks. We decide, hey this isn't that bad... let's keep him.

Soon as he heard that he dropped the act and BOOM! Up all night last night, got about 2 hrs in the early morning. Fuck, I'm getting too old for this shit. Getting my boys snipped soon.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

At least the wife isn't on tap 24 hours a day, that's brutal ...

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Our only child is in her 20s now, MB, but, oh MAN, I remember the sleep-deprived days!

  • In reply to MB30SD:

St.Louis over the Arizona - Because the Cardinals are circling the drain.

Saints over the Cincy - Because I'm up against Drew Brees in my fantasy league so I figure he will mop the floor with the Bungles secondary.

NY Giants over Washington - Can you say "Deadskins"?

  • In reply to PhantomOne:

Thanks Viva, I won't let you guys down!

  • In reply to PhantomOne:

viva how long you been here?

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

I have no idea, Fres - maybe late 06 early 07...Use to have a job that took me away for long stretches of time.

One of my favorite oldies doesn't post as much any more (Pissed Off, PO'd...) and identities were being ripped off. So I've been hit or miss for some time...

Keep writing Fres, you entertain me..in a good way.

  • In reply to PhantomOne:

Here is what the blog use to look like:http://www.dabearsblog.com/2007/09/the_good_the_bad_the_offense.php

  • In reply to PhantomOne:

    Rex fan sighted. Nice Viva.

So who's from Chicago and can go?

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

I wanted JA to acquire Kurt Warner before he landed in Arizona...

  • In reply to PhantomOne:

Damn. I wanted him after he left!

  • In reply to PhantomOne:

My girlfriend said she will dress up in her supergirl costume if you get her a ticket Jeff lol

  • In reply to PhantomOne:

Loved that crazy old format...not exactly easy on the eyes, but it was fun.

  • In reply to PhantomOne:

    Bears
    49ers
    Jets

  • In reply to PhantomOne:

Wow, brings a tear to see some of the old names on there. Mike and PO'd certainly livened up the place a bit didn't they?

  • In reply to PhantomOne:

I found my FIRST blog post. It wasn't exactly a warm welcome, but Phil was cool so I stuck around.

Interesting to see those comments from the '07 season considering where we are now.

  • In reply to Shady:

    Too funny.

  • In reply to Rancid:

    RANCID.

  • In reply to Shady:

Yeah, I'm still around. Just a reader anymore though. It's a little crowded around here for my style. Jeff's better than any other Bears writer in the country.

  • In reply to Shady:

I know I don't post on here a lot, but I have been a regular reader for 3 seasons now.. my vote goes to shady :)

  • In reply to PhantomOne:

    Yea i remember them days...

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

    You two timer, you

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

    Bears, Ravens, Colts

I'll be at the Pats game with my Dad again, so I'm out. I got my jew-fro socially awkward larry david like father really deep into the Bears this season. My dad has usually watched the Bears throughout the years, but is the kind of fan that would give up and walk away if it seemed the Bears had no chance. Safe to say he missed some Mike Brown and Devin Hester game-enders as well as others. During the Eagles game, I was going nuts along with 3 or 4 other dudes near me and my dad starting getting really into it which is totally uncharacteristic of him. He bought a Pep jersey at half of the Philly game and came back to the seats to tell me, "I can wear it at night when I'm reading." I just laughed and told him "That sounds good." There was this annoying pre-puberty little fuck Pack fan that was with his dad Bear fan but he was rooting for the Eagles that little fuck! He was talking shit the beginning of the first and then bitched the rest of the game that he wanted to leave. My dad turns around and asks the kid's father, "Is he this hornery about everything, or just football?" The guy had no idea what my dad was talking about. I just said to my dad, "C'mon, turn around now."

Obviously alot of guys can't go like MB, Irish, MBP, GP, Viva, SC(?), Waffle(?), lobo(?), fq(?), Canada(?), Corm(?), Doc(?), etc.

So, I say its between Coach or Shady. Shady has been around since I found this site and got into it with "Pissed Off: about Rex being shite and Orton being better. He felt the opposite and couldn't handle it when he was proven wrong. Viva and MPB, bros, how could you have liked that dude? All he did was tell everyone they were stupid because they didn't know how amazing Rex really was. Bwahahahha! And then he peaced out when Rex didn't turn out so good. Did I miss something with him?
And Coach taught me about Dook lasagna and other classics. The guy makes me laugh night in and night out.

If I was in the contest though, I would bring naked model sushi platter bitches by the bundle with the best sushi in town who would ice luge sake bomb the shit out of you guys while giving triple handies out like it was their day job. I'd give you Mike Ditka's actual mustache from the NFC Championship game during da Superbowl year. I bought it on ebay and its been preserving nicely in my freezer.

  • In reply to Crowned:

You can't discount the entertainment value of a guy going down with his ship.

  • In reply to PhantomOne:

I just noticed, Viva, we are "Brother Avatars"!

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

We are 4-0 since I changed mine. What can I say, I love the guy.

  • In reply to PhantomOne:

    Doc, your a genius.

But the problem is who wants to go is gonna say they havne't been to one.

  • In reply to Crowned:

    Daaaaaaa sushi! Daaaaaaaaa 'stash!

  • In reply to Crowned:

    haha

  • In reply to Crowned:

Shady, you got my vote. Just skip the Giselle and wings thing. Because, if it gets you on TV I don't think we want to see it.

I haven't seen Coach chime in yet, but if something comes up and Shady can't make it and 'Da Coach can, then he gets my vote. Shady has been on here forever and Coach just cracks me up.

  • In reply to mikev:

You got it Mike, thanks man!

  • In reply to Shady:

We had a deal on the wings Shady! Just the wings will do. No wig, no makeup. Just those wings!

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

You're creepin me out Murph haha

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

    Im thinkin...
    BEARS
    browns
    bills

  • In reply to augie07:

    Fine choices Augie!

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

What is up with this Bears-Lions line anyway? I guess the only thing anyone remembers from the first game is the Johnson non-catch. What they're forgetting: We outgained the Lions by 295 yards. We blew three scoring opportunities by putting the ball on the ground twice in the red zone and failing to convert on a fourth and goal from the 1. In the last few weeks, we've protected the ball much better and improved on red zone/goal line situations. The Lions are down two QBs, their top DE and a kicker, and their top RB is gimpy. We're completely healthy, other than Pisa, and Roach filled in more than capably for him in Miami.

Is this just based on home field? The last time I went to a Bears game in Detroit (2001), the game started with a crowd that was about half Bears and half Lions fans, and when it finished it almost all Bears. That was back in the Silverdome days, though. Maybe the Lions get a better advantage at Ford.

Still the only way we don't smoke these fools is if we look past this game. I don't understand how the line isn't at least Bears by 8.

  • In reply to Ufficio:

    exacly Uffi

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

    Falcons
    Buffalo
    BEARS

  • In reply to tobijohn:

I have a feeling that everyone is going to pick the Bears this week. I won't be the exception. I'll also take Seattle and NYG.

So is the Saturday Show just done? Nothing for the reverend to rant about now that the Bears have a nice streak going?

  • In reply to tobijohn:

If necessary, I will dress as Gisele Bundchen (wings and all) to distract Tom Brady. Anything for Da Bears!

  • In reply to Shady:

Ok, half a vote for that!

  • In reply to tobijohn:

I think we should know who can actually make the game. Dont want anyone to pull a fresno like i did.ha.... My vote would go to a regular blogger.. dam this blog is gona be cracking today.

  • In reply to Shady:

Sorry Shady, but you know the rules ...
Flag on the play, False start ... half the distance to the goal line, replay first down.

Brewskis, nachos and dogs are on the table. My vote goes to anyone willing to go the leslie-nielsen-bj-under-the-podium route at halftime.

  • yea it sure is. At first though i remember when we came here we all hated this format. I miss the post being numbered.

  • SHADY dude show how you found your first post?

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

Fres, I just used the link Viva posted and went to the archives. I happen to remember the week I made my DaBearsBlog debut and went to it.

  • In reply to Shady:

wow u got some good effin memory... shit I can barely remember last week..

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

I know exactly what you mean. I wear a name tag pinned to my chect upside down so that when I'm introduced to new people I can glance down to remember my name...

  • Thanks. I found my first, from Sept. 2009. Not so new afterall - I was ranting about Rosenbloom....

  • Bears
