  • Da Bears!!

  • And a special thank you to the Minnesota Vikings for keeping me entertained this week. Shit, I even feel a little better about Lovie after watching Childress in action. That guy could fuck up a night at the Playboy Mansion.

  • Fella's this one is a big one cutty needs to say "pop" along with martz and pull thier heads outta of each others asses and produce a lot of yards/ points and give our defense rest and momentum starting today and going on the remainder of this run BEAR THE FUCK DOWN!!!

  • Going with nothing but....
    no predictions
    no sarcastic comments
    no emetion

    just----BEAR DOWN!!!!!!!

  • no emotion......not no emetion... see even in typing this I don't give a shit!

  • Here with my annual "Time Change" gripe. The end of Daylight Savings time for the year also means no more 10am NFL starts in Arziona. Sigh. Have to wait all the wait to 11 now.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

Man, I hate the 10am starts... I don't want to be awake at 9am on a Sunday =).

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

    BEARDOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hey guys, sorry haven't been around as much the past few weeks... work/life/etc.

I know things look dire with our beloved team right now, but let's look at the big picture. This team has the potential to improve in the 2nd half of the season and go on a playoff run -- the defense has been playing exceptionally well, the special teams are top notch... it's just the offense that needs to pull its collective head out of its ass. Fix that, and we have a team.

I won't bore you with all the stats and indicators, but the defense is playing well -- forcing 3 and outs, limiting TDs, and forcing turnovers. If the offense were even just average or mediocre, the Bears win vs WAS, vs SEA, and arguably at NYG too. Despite being in full-scale meltdown, they were in all those games late into the 4th quarter because of the D and ST.

Now, am I concerned the offense might not be capable of getting it together? Of course. But the bottom line is they've shown big-play capability when they can operate -- specifically when the OL is effective. And OLs do sometimes come together late in the season in the NFL.

I'm not counting them out yet. Let's give them a chance, and keep some positive energy going. This is the team we're stuck with for this season -- at least they have a chance to be really good.

  • NFL is fickle indeed. Wash fumbled it SIX times, and if we even recover one of those, we win the game. That phantom holding call on our KR for a TD, ditto. Half a millimeter more on goaline...maybe in some alternate universe we're 6-1 (the NY game we lose in all dimensions lol)

  • BEAAAR DOOOWN!

Can we get a run game going against the worst run d?
Can we score against a D who allows the most points?
Can we NOT turn the ball over to one of the worst D in takeways?

If we can't after a bye and a healthy roster, this is going to be a looooong season...

  • In reply to KissMyButkus:

    That's it right there.

If we can't beat the Bills after a bye week on the road, we suck and the season is over.

Blogfather called it a must win for the season. I'm going to go even farther:

This game is a must win for deciding our fate for the next SEVERAL years.

  • In reply to KissMyButkus:

Bears win, Forte and Taylor with strong games, Peppers kills Fitzpatrick everyone breathes sigh of relief. Packers lose tonight to the Boys. Peter King takes head out of Favre's crotch to write about it.

  • In reply to KissMyButkus:

What time is it in Toronto?

    It's Bear Time...Now!

  • In reply to KissMyButkus:

Marcus Harrison just can't make it on the field. what the fuck happened to that guy? weed? chicks? weed and chicks?

  • In reply to KissMyButkus:

I love how ESPN is trying to make Childress out to be so awesome because his son is a Marine. There are a lot of people in the military, it's not that special of a thing.

  • In reply to EVILteddie:

Thousand's of parents are dealing with kids in the military and they still do their jobs.

  • In reply to EVILteddie:

coming from someone who has never served? It's a commitment most people would never understand. Childress is still a huge tool and his son can't help his cause

  • In reply to hollywood1:

I am active duty right now.

  • In reply to EVILteddie:

then why would you make such a stupid comment? it's the most necessary job in the world Teddie.

  • In reply to hollywood1:

Just pointing out how ESPN is making a whole special on Childress having a son in the Marines. Whoopdy do. He shares a job with convicts and high school drop outs, believe me I know.

  • In reply to EVILteddie:

i see your point, agreeing and disagreeing on various levels. Thanks for your commitment Teddie. Go Bears!

  • In reply to EVILteddie:

At eleven fifty-six A.M. here in Chicago and there are forty seven fans in the Rodgers Center in Toronto.

  • In reply to EVILteddie:

    I need a link

  • In reply to Sirwiz:

    and

    Bear Down

  • In reply to Sirwiz:

    channelsurfing.net

  • In reply to Sirwiz:

Well, here starts another week of not converting 3rd downs...

  • In reply to Sirwiz:

Wow, Peppers looked good on that series. Offense just needs to step it up, cmon!

  • In reply to Sirwiz:

There a alot of guys outside the Rodgers Center drinking Bud walking, and talking about getting some Muskies or Pike before Thanksgiving.

  • In reply to Sirwiz:

Link me please... I got nothing.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    channelsurfing.net

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    Man, our offense is terrible.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

he is too gunshy. he expects to be hit on the last step of the drop and when he doesn't get hit he is all out of rythym. got to set the feet even a little

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Any way we can get "Game Breaks" every six minutes?

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Don't forget, the Bears are up against the WORST running defense in football.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Cutler's throw on the roll-out could not have been caught by Dr. Ock. Poor Ear Bennett.

Does Jay tell the receivers that he's throwing twelve feet high and wide in the huddle.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Not watching the game til later but this is the worst D in rushing yards allowed in the NFL giving up like 182 yards a game or something and their D has 11 sacks all season (sounds like a bad half for us). If our players/coaches can't take advantage of these things then heads need to roll.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    http://atdhe.net/

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Who wants to bet that we don't score a TD here?

  • In reply to Ufficio:

Note: Posted before the false start penalty.

  • In reply to Ufficio:

    Sweet to be wrong, sometimes.

  • In reply to Ufficio:

Wow that was strange. Almost looked like Bennet was covering Olsen haha. Good TD guys, lets go!

  • In reply to Ufficio:

Now let's do it again, and again, and again, and again, and again and so on.

  • In reply to Ufficio:

FINALLY! A TD. Not a fumble, not an int, not a FG...a TD! 14play drive, our D must think they're dreaming.

  • In reply to Ufficio:

Now, our D has to step up, cuz of course, the Bear's are gonna try to find a way to give the Bills 7 points to keep it close.

  • In reply to Ufficio:

Robbie, if you're going to kick 30 yard FGs for the rest of your life, you can't kick it out of bounds son.

  • In reply to Ufficio:

Ryan Fitzpatrick looks like Prince Albert.

  • In reply to kenbill:

I like the kid, good solid QB. And a Foutsian beard !

  • In reply to kenbill:

14 play 81 yard drive for a TD, perfect pass then Peppers stops an entire 4 play series by himself. holy shit he is a beast.

  • In reply to kenbill:

Bears converting 3rd downs, that is the best thing about today's game so far.

  • In reply to kenbill:

Don't want to jinx it but Jay is playing smart fucking football and the offensive calls are great because they have awesome short and mid range options catering to our strengths.

  • In reply to hollywood1:

He threw it straight into into triple coverage at Forte in the endzone there. Throwing off his back foot a lot. This is the worst team in football we're playing - we need to be killing them. Gould-watch continues.

  • In reply to kenbill:

Man, is the Bear's Oline really that much better with Garza at RG? Cutler is helping by running with the ball well, and throwing it sooner, though he's still a little inaccurate.

  • In reply to KissMyButkus:

No. We're playing the Buffaslo Bills, a winless football team, and we're not even beating them. We'll lose this game. They have a better QB and receivers.

  • In reply to KissMyButkus:

I'm upset that we can't run on the Bills. Even with Garza back.

  • In reply to gpldan:

GP..our O line sucks no matter whos in there.

  • In reply to KissMyButkus:

fucking penalties fucking penalties fucking penalties

  • In reply to KissMyButkus:

Well same ole shit...was hoping for better play than this...these guy's suck on defense..our offense is worse. Hope our offense plays better in the 2nd half.

  • In reply to KissMyButkus:

Should of been 10-0, we miss field goal, give them great field position, then, just to get in the Xmas spirit, Tillman gives them another 15 yds - we call a timeout for them, bam

    7-7.

NO MATTER WHO WE PLAY, WE ALWAYS FIND A WAY TO MAKE IT CLOSE.

    Ubeleivable.

If our Oline and QB actually play well, our D and SP teams fuck up to make up for it.

  • In reply to KissMyButkus:

Maybe they're trying to teach the offense a lesson?

  • In reply to EVILteddie:

Ya, I guess they're trying to get even or something.

  • In reply to EVILteddie:

I love the internet - ATDHE.net works great on Firefox, not at all on Chrome, and non-functioning plug-in on IE.

Glad I missed the first half based on the comments.

  • In reply to EVILteddie:

Well, there's a little light at the end of the tunnel...

  • In reply to tobijohn:

tbj...hopefully the light is not from a locomotive on the track about to run our arses over!

  • In reply to tobijohn:

FINALLY A FUCKING WALK IN THE END ZONE!!!!!!!

  • In reply to tobijohn:

Well slap me silly - we scored a rushing touchdown in short yardage?
Guess the Bills really do have a shitting run D.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

*shitty. I need to go back to sleep!

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

MBP - you would have actually liked how we moved the ball on offense in the first half. it was the leg pissing at the end of the half that fucking sucked

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

Icing on the cake, 'Zona is pounding on the Queens, 21-10 right now.

    Keep it up!

  • In reply to Ufficio:

Go Cards...and I hate to say it go Cowpokes...FU!%$#!$%K the fudgpackers!!!

  • In reply to tobijohn:

And that is why, people have been calling for Taylor in goal to go situations. Go Bears!

  • In reply to EVILteddie:

    +1

  • In reply to EVILteddie:

Now, can we please not make some inevitable bonehead mistake to give them momentum back?

  • In reply to KissMyButkus:

85B4E...you mean like let them march down the field and score?

  • In reply to tobijohn:

    Holy shit, a rushing TD!
They must've been reading our blog: short down yardage, put Taylor in. It only took those geniuses half a season to figure it out.

    GO BEARS!

  • In reply to EVILteddie:

Oh, I like that motion play to Bennett. That was slick.

  • In reply to KissMyButkus:

It's bad enough being a Bears fan, thank God I'm not a commie pinko liberal as well. Hooo Yah.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    TRAC.........WELCOME BACK!!!!!

  • In reply to nicholsra:

hey trac...would that be a double header if you are a Bears fan and a Commie Pinko Liberal? hhhhhheeeeehhhhheeeeee

  • In reply to nicholsra:

Sometimes I think that would be a zero header.

  • In reply to nicholsra:

    Just win, baby.

  • In reply to Mastodon:

    seriously

  • In reply to Mastodon:

a win is a win is a win.

but i'm afraid it's gonna take even more packer injuries for the bears to take the division. That was pretty ugly.

  • In reply to Mastodon:

You know how you know the Fantasy football gods want you to lose?

When your KICKER (Jason Hanson) goes down with injury.

    Good god.

  • In reply to gpldan:

    ouch

  • In reply to gpldan:

Sorry. I have to actually write this...

    LOL !

    Wait, fuck ...

  • In reply to nicholsra:

In the "parity is a dirty word" department, Cleveland is whipping the 'best team in the league' New England Patriots right now.
    What the hey?

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

    MBP...welcome to Godell's NFL..on any given Sunday

  • In reply to nicholsra:

I've always rooted for Cleveland to do well; not my team, but I appreciate their fans. Holmgren and Mangenius may just be turning that ship around.

  • In reply to nicholsra:

Detroit's emergency kicker is Suh? Errrr. Not sure I understand that one.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

Detroit's in trouble if Suh is called in for a game winning FG lol

  • In reply to KissMyButkus:

I really wonder how that happened. How is your rookie DT your best option? Do they not carry a punter?

  • In reply to KissMyButkus:

We could really really use a turnover here to seal the deal. C'mon, pick-6 smurf, take us home.

  • In reply to KissMyButkus:

This is the game, let's go

  • In reply to KissMyButkus:

Fucking Vikings continuing their implosion with a loss to fucking Arizona. Chilly is GONE next week and the vikes don't look like the 0-2 threat that they did. Fuck them. Just hope the packers suffer the same fate

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Only thing that would make their meltdown better would be for Wilf to announce the move to LA this week.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

with more than two minutes..is it wrong to wing one deep? just to stab them in the heart?

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Get a first down here and we win. 3rd and a long 1. This is like a greek tragedy. Taylor must be in and we must convert this.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    Fuck, Queens tied it up.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

here we are again 3rd and 1..LDL/MARTZY please prove me wrong that you are not a FU!@%$!@#%NG idiot

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    F ME QUEENS

  • In reply to KissMyButkus:

The Bills are now basically in field goal range. Way to go, secondary pass coverage.

  • In reply to KissMyButkus:

No doubt in my mind that Bears wouldn't stop them on 3rd and long.

  • In reply to KissMyButkus:

Ahhhhhhhhhh... love the bend don't break. Fuck.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

    ......Jay. C'mon, man.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

    nice turnover F ME

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

it's first down, just fucking do what we did the whole fucking game up til that point. why go back to the 7 step? what the fuck? it's not rocket science

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

guess it was a matter of time before they got to Cutler, we start to get pass happy and veer away from the run...again! Thank You Mike Martz

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

There's the inevitable bonehead mistake once again...just to make it close.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

Ugh, I've seen this one before and know how it ends.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

Hey, we're pissing down our own legs again. Cool!

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

Fitz is a better QB than Cutler. I wonder how many draft pics the Bills gave up for him?

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

whatever Trac, he had a 105 qb rating until Martz decided to do exactly what we didn't do all game, the fucking 7 step drop. We had 0, fucking count them, 0 sacks.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    +1

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Have I mentioned that I love olsen? Have I?

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    MB..."who loves yeah baby"?

  • In reply to MB30SD:

If the defense doesn't step up here..could be a real long flight home.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Thank God the Bears have a defense.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

And one of the smurfs just pwned Fitzy. A beautiful play on the ball.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Well hush my mouth!!!! Ok offense..here's your chance...do it!

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

Welcome to your 2010 BENDOVER BEARS

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

disheartening to see a gameplan work so well and then we just have to call the 7step on first down. we can't fucking help ourselves, we have to do it like a moth to a flame. I made a comment that all we had to do was drive it and ultimately punt them inside the 10 or get a field goal and literally 10 seconds later we pull a 7step and fumble. i don't know what to say at this point.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

    Dick Butkus

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

What a bizarre play call on the 2 pt conversion...and a horrible job at selling the pass.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

The Bills are doin exactly what we were until till Matrz got stupid. Get back on track offense..this game is up to you..the defense can't carry you all the time!

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

Y is Knox returning kicks? Am I missing something? Is Manning back there?

  • In reply to KissMyButkus:

Knox is useless on kickoffs, it should be Manning or Hester. A strong wind puts Knox on the ground

  • In reply to KissMyButkus:

    Season over.

  • In reply to Ufficio:

I stand by this assessment. No faith in this team.

  • In reply to Ufficio:

Stick a fork in our Bears people. Beaten by the worst team in the NFL, which makes us ...?

Would the Bills take a straight trade, Cutler for Fitzpatrick? How about Hester and Knox for Stevie?

Great pick Tim ... now how will Cutler fuck this up?

  • In reply to Ufficio:

Jennings should take that ball bring it over to JC and tell him- "GO OUT THERE SCORE OR I WILL FUCK YOU UP AND YOU WHOLE FUCKING FAMILY IF YOU MAKE ME GO BACK OUT TO PLAY D again this quater you will be FUBAR'ED!

  • In reply to nicholsra:

lol - that would have been DJ Moore...I think Jennings is more soft spoken.

  • In reply to nicholsra:

What do you know...Cutler CAN complete a pass when he has FIVE minutes to look for a receiver

  • In reply to BearsChick:

At least you ain't nothing to look at. If you were, I'd warn you to change your avatar. These bloggers are brutal.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Don't mind Trac, BC. He's our resident Republican bible thumping self-righteous sexist asshole. We hate him mostly, but he does contribute once in a while.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

ouch trac..what's up with the dis.. BC welcome!

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Really Trac? Are you trying to turn into a bad ass like on wrestling?

    -1

  • In reply to BearsChick:

4th and 10, last play of the game. Time to win this on offense with a kneel down. c'mon boys!!

  • In reply to BearsChick:

What a HUGE break. That was OOB by the slimmest of margins. This should be Buffalo's last timeout.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

    Oops, one more left.
    One big ass play.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

C'mon, guys - one first down. One.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

Is it just me or did Robo-Lovie look like he was on the verge of showing emotion?

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

    ugh. Williams abused.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

    2 thoughts:

    1. Great block williams. Jesus christ.

    2. Had my first McRib today. Damn that thing (and I do mean thing) was spectacular... if you can afford the plaque buildup, I recommend them.

    3. Oregon Ducks unis this weekend were so incredibly bad ass

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    1. really
    2. congrats on the McShits!
    3. Quack

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

And we burn our last timeout??? WTF Lovie. WTF.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

fucking Maynard. it went right off the side of his foot and ended up being a huge play. get that tiny white man laid.

  • In reply to hollywood1:

Damn booth. Best punt of Maynard's year.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

    Aw. Shit.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

god I hate Farve, someone please break him.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

    concussion for peppers?

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

    man pep is a giant

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

If Pepe is hurt I blame the FUCKING O for not doing their job today..get the hickory stick and Pinata their ass from Martzy,Tice,JC and the whole O from them on.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

Had to go to Jewels (Jewels is Jewel Food Store on South Side) - they announced 14-13 Bears in the fourth quarter and there was a run on Draino.

When did Trac turn this into a right-wing political blog? Commie?
How about godless? Yikes what brilliance.

Peppers walks off with two doctors and an agent. He is more than awesome.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

wow AZ you look like the Bears..sheite

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

    Bears Win - D-Wins.

Turn out the lights and keep the truck engine going.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

    Thank god. Jesus.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

Brett Bitch is on the field..AZ 3 and out

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

    Thank you D!!!!!!

    O you SUCK!

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

Vikes almost in FG range. I guess we gotta put them out of their misery ourselves next Sunday.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

Bears beat the worst team in the league. barely. I hardly consider this a victory

  • In reply to BearsChick:

consider it whatever you'd like. Maybe if you call the league office you can get them to overturn the victory.

  • In reply to hollywood1:

the more i think about your stupid comment the more stupid it becomes to me on so many levels. fucking brutal.

  • In reply to hollywood1:

    Agreed.

  • In reply to hollywood1:

Cutler's mobility saved his ass today. He should spend more time working out and on his foot speed. He should equal Aaron Rodgers mobility at the least. It changed the game for him in many ways.

  • In reply to gpldan:

Vick beat the Colts with his feet. Vick beat the 'eight greatest player of all time' with his feet.

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

Goes to show that karma has nothing to do with pro football.

  • In reply to hollywood1:

Waffle, you are a dickweed on so many levels.

  • In reply to gpldan:

With the way the Bears played in their last two home games, and coming out of the bye week, they should have arrived in Toronto hungry for blood and DOMINATED this game. Instead, they played okay. I think having a coach with a neutered emotional affect is bad for a Chicago team. We need a Rex Ryan type to fire everybody up.

  • In reply to gpldan:

It was a brutal comment and needed it needed to be addressed. please agree.

  • In reply to hollywood1:

Jeff is going to post the exact same thing she said. We barely deserve to call this a victory.

So, why don't you try responding to his post the exact same way, see how that plays.

  • In reply to gpldan:

No problem GP, it was a stupid comment without any supporting info. I would love to see Jeff write a 15 word manifesto with as much brilliance.

  • In reply to hollywood1:

let me give you a little preview of what he will probably be writing about:
    1. gameplanning completely changed by Martz to address our talents and lack thereof
    a. as it pertains to run vs pass balance
    b. as it pertains to short passes, check downs and rollouts used to move the pocket resulting in cutler running for 3 first downs i believe
    c. as it pertains to him being sacked once instead of 9 times

    is thast a good start?

  • In reply to hollywood1:

if you need more let me finish dinner and i'll keep going.

  • In reply to hollywood1:

i can also cover the play of Tim Jennings, Izzy stepping up, pounding it in from the goal line using Shaeffer, Manu, Taylor, etc, the impact of having Briggs back, holding them to 48 yards running, DJ Moore playing both good and bad ball but having an impact none the less as an Angelo draft pick, Cutler not throwing any picks and why that was, Bennett stepping up again, the Bills losing 4 of their games by less than a touchdown and a couple by 3. I can also review the definition of the word "parity" and how it relates to the NFL. I finished my chores and i've got all night to watch football, blog to my heart's content and eat dessert (homemade).

  • In reply to hollywood1:

Take it easy with the McRibs, go slow.

  • In reply to gpldan:

i can't they only come out once a year

  • In reply to hollywood1:

Florio is such an asshole...couldn't f....g even give the Bears any credit for winning the game. Just said the the Bills keep finding ways to lose. Jerk

  • In reply to RogerMinton:

they missed an extra point and it cost them the game. They threw two fourth quarter interceptions with the game in their hands/on the line. If the tables had turned you would have given zero credit to the bills and called for Lovie's head. And you would have been right. Bills blew this one. Just take the "W"......if you're looking for "respect" you're cheering for the wrong team (this season)

  • In reply to brocklanders:

I realize it was the Bills, but as I posted below, there are no easy wins in the NFL, especially on the road so I beg to differ, Wrigley.

The Bears BLOCKED an extra point.
I see that as different than just "they missed" it. Kudos to Izzy.

Also, Gould "missed" a makeable field goal.

Tim Jennings made an outstanding play on the ball on his INT. It wasn't like Fitzpatrick mad a terrible throw.

The Bear defense turned up the heat on Fitz late in the game.

Also, "Make-it-up" Mike Florio is a well-established Doofus. His status is about on par with a Troll. maybe.

  • In reply to brocklanders:

Vikes haven't won a single game on the road this season. I think the Bears will win next week. Now if only I could snag some tix to the game...

  • In reply to BearsChick:

I've just read the first couple of lines of the next post and am already typing an apology. I campaigned a while across the internet to try and get some female fans on this board and sadly, like most first-time posters, they get shellacked as soon as they show up. Again, welcome, and I hope you stick around and give as good as you get.

  • In reply to brocklanders:

    Fact.

  • In reply to RogerMinton:

    I'll take it.

There are NO "easy" wins in today's NFL.

Patriots were MANHANDLED by the BROWNS today.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

And the Patriots -4 was the no-brainer pick of my three. I have no idea how anyone could possibly make a consistent living betting on NFL games. At least not this year. Before the contest began, I thought getting three right a week was going to be a lot easier than it has been. I'm barely over .500 outright....

  • In reply to tobijohn:

Word. Getting your ass kicked by the Cleveland Browns, well I can only guess it had something to do with Rob Ryan and the studly Mr. Hillis.

  • In reply to tobijohn:

    Let's go Cowboys!

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

    I

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    We beat Buffalo and "meh".
The Vikings take it to overtime to beat Arizona and they've "saved their season".

  • In reply to MB30SD:

I don't expect him to be fair, since subjectivity doesn't get hits, but saving their season? That's just asinine.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

MB - thank you for confirming that i wasn't, in fact, in the twilight zone.

One of the key reasons that I can't respect BC's initial comment is because of several factors:
    1. newbies must bring value if they are going to make outlandish statements that fly in the face of reason. The BEARS are 5-3 are they not? What about this victory was so controversial, so baffling, so beyond reason that this victory shouldn't be counted?
    2. When you avatar is a nice picture of yourself in a Bears jersey but the comments in your profile are so tragically irrelevant and you are pitching a cheap website at the same time you must be called out. BEST THING ABOUT CHICAGO: 85 Bears
WORST THING ABOUT CHICAGO: This years Bears
Really? that's the worst thing BC? Your division leading 5-3 Chicago Bears? The Division leading 5-3 Chicago Bears that are entering the 2nd half of the season in prime position to make a playoff run? Those Bears? Yeah, what a bunch of fucking retards. I can't believe they even bother showing up to games. Why can't they be more like the 85 team. I mean how hard could it be to field one of the greatest teams that the league has ever fucking seen?
    3. The Bears content on the shitty TMZ-esque site on her profile has the same acidic, sarcastic, whiny tone as well which immediately leads me to believe that the tone and content of the author will be just as 1 dimensional and pedestrian. A fiery "Rex Ryan type" head coach will inspire the defense BC? The Bears defense gives up an average of 17pts a game, is ranked 7th in the league in total defense and 2nd in Rushing Defense. Maybe if Lovie yelled more we could hold teams to 14 pts. Maybe Peppers, Briggs and Urlacher would just perform a little bit better if a fiery coach was hurling Lombardi-esque sayings in their direction or swearing like a sailor like Rex. We would probably force an extra fumble a game to bring us higher than our number 1 ranking in forced fumbles. If we could only invent a number higher than the number 1. Rex probably could have yelled at Major Harris hamstring so loudly that it would have healed in a fraction of the time so we wouldn't have to play Chris Harris. The same yelling would probably make that shitbag Tommie Harris finally play up to his contract as well. Why didn't we think of that sooner?
Maybe if a fiery coach came in he could verbally abuse our offense into comprehending and executing one of the most complex offenses in the league. Maybe he could just install another completely different offense altogether which would only take one or two games to learn. It can't be that hard right? If he yelled loud enough or swore aggressively enough they could probably learn it though.

    i give up

  • In reply to hollywood1:

funniest shit i've seen on here in a while.

  • In reply to hollywood1:

This is all based on the fact that she said :

"Bears beat the worst team in the league. barely. I hardly consider this a victory"

I would hope the vast majority on here agree with that statement - cos it's true

Is there something else going on here? Checking out her profile just means you're on a seek-and-destroy mission.

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

In a game where you can fucking die on the field I would certainly call this game a victory.

When the OC completely changes the kind of gameplan he has called for 9 years and it WORKS then i would call that a victory.

When said adjustments are made while we are at the top of the division with 8 games left you are damn right this is a fucking victory.

  • In reply to hollywood1:

....over the worst team in the league. Celebrate it for sure, but every team we play from now on has a better offense than we do.

I wrote consistent offense - two words.
    Chester Taylor.

Forte's first steps are not as fast as they (should)could be. In the open field Forte increases his speed - but he initially seems sluggish. Forte is one of our running backs and I respect his skills and talent, but Taylor seems quicker to me.

  • In reply to kenbill:

That MCL/hamstring on the same leg from last season might be having residual problems?

  • In reply to kenbill:

Damn, the Pack are really spanking the Cowboys...actually givin them an ass whoopin..... bigtime.

  • In reply to kenbill:

Dude, you knew what King Edward VII looked like? Do you smoke those little cigars? I'll have to go with Charles Stewart Parnell. A million points to anyone who can find a pedo Childress-lookalike ...

  • In reply to hollywood1:

Did anyone notice that Chester Taylor ran harder than Forte?

I liked what I saw and I hope it continues.

The defense did a great job and I also hope Pepper's is ok.

Btw, Melton was worth keeping over the pool guy. He plays Dend and Dtackle. I think he did great.

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

Taylor always brings it. I don't know why they bother running Forte between the tackles. I'd love to see both him and Taylor in the backfield at the same time, they're better than our two starting receivers.

Peppers had a leg issue, no concussion or neck stuff.

Michaels alone is a great "stand-up" or "seated" comedian.

He just said there should be more "brown spots" on the turf at Lambeau because it's November. The geese have not left the Horicon Al - for Crissake.

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

We beat the Lions, barely, and we said 'the Lions are much improved, a win is a win!'

We beat the Cowboys, and we said 'damn, the Cowboys! Now we are the shit!' Little did we know who the Cowboys were, as I watch the Pack beat their ass right now.

Then we beat the Packers in a harrowing, gutty game to go 3-0, after having a week of cock juggling trolls from cheeseland run their mouths and then scramble back to the shag carpeting crawlspace that passes for a Wisconsin rec room.

We were high as a kite, 3-0 and big talk.

Then the Giants beat the shit out of us and smashed Cutler into another world, ringing his bell and shaking him up so bad he wasn't the same until he could lay in bed for a week and recover.

Now, he seems about where he was after the Pack game. He seems more mobile, the line seems to be about as good as it is going to get, Webb is holding up the right side and Omlette the left, at least for enough time that Cutler either can step up or has an escape hatch to run. We found somebody on the coaching staff who taught Knox the slant route. Bennett is a stud in the crease.

The Bills are winless, but they handed the Ravens all they wanted last week, and their Harvard Ph.D. QB is a smart little Dan Fouts wannabe, and has the brains but not quite the arm of our own Jay Cutler. Their wideouts made catches but also dropped balls and made dumb mistakes. They suffer from worse OTs than we have, and that gave Izzy quite a day.

    What to take from this?

Cutler seems to get the short game. Martz has finally balanced the offense run/pass against the worst run D in the NFL, and we only have a few runs to show for it. Cutler has learned to stop trying to slow time down with his ego, and instead pull the fucking ball down and just run. Sometimes. He also threw several times into double coverage again but made better reads overall.

The test now comes at home, where we haven't been good, against the Vikes. Next week our playoff run begins. Can we take this thing? It starts by beating Farve senseless, put the ol' perv down for the final count. He may be all about himself, he may have squeezed Ziggy for another $10M over the summer and made them come down to Mississippi and kiss his ring, but he's paying them back by being a fucking warrior in there. Wounded, but unbowed yet. And he loves Soldier Field.

As for BC, here's what I see:

I been here all last year, with guys like MB and Irish kept the ball rolling in the offseason when this place was a ghost town, through the draft, and now into the meat of the season. I've seen plenty of 'game day' posters like BC come along and post inane shit without establishing any cred whatsoever.

    And.... they get ignored.

They don't get called out as stupid.

So you can't tell me Waffle didn't decide to pick on BC a little bit because she was a woman. And Trac's "you ain't no looker", makes me laugh because Trac is probably some ugly doofus who BC wouldn't give the time of day.

BC probably knows the score if she writes for the Huff Post. She's gonna get the 'go get me a sandwich' comments, so she doesn't need me or anybody else calling the dogs what they are. But what we saw wasn't calling the n00b out, because the n00bz here come around on game day and say stupid shit all the time, they just ignored. What we saw here was good ol' boys club bullshit, and Waffle picked her out because she is a woman.

    And that's what I think.

Oh, and I hire union labor and vote democratic as well. So Trac and even ol' Al with his Nancy Pelosi comments can go fucking hang. At least the Democrats don't get caught every other week giving each other handjobs in men's bathrooms. It's the Repubs who seem to be the repressed queers.

Jimmy Mac for president, 2016 (after Obama's 2nd term).

  • In reply to gpldan:

GP - you couldn't be more wrong about me. I almost died playing this game and have played it and have been around it coaching when i couldn't play anymore. I expect bush league, fair weather bullshit comments on a Cubs blog, not on a Bears blog. Look at my comments on the Lions game when people said that wasn't a win and then try to tell me that i was picking on someone because they are a woman. I was the same guy that called out that fucking scumbag Jersey Flyer because he was a closet fucking racist. I don't need an apology because we don't know each other and will never meet but just know that you are wrong with your comments about my reasons for calling out a truly brutal comment. Go back in the posts, look at the trends of my comments and my mindset regarding the game of football and then quietly apologize to the football gods...or don't because it won't matter either way.

  • In reply to hollywood1:

    Fair enough Waffle.

I hereby nominate Waffle as Sgt. at Arms.

Waffle, your duties now include bashing and running all n00bs who come to DBB on game day with no previously established cred, and then proceed to tell all of us 'how it is' with the 2010 Chicago Bears or how we should feel about the game.

To achieve your goals, you will be equipped with Butkus' old helmet and a cannon that fires t-shirts with Jenn Sterger's boobs on the front and inez Sainz ass on the back.

    Aim for the face.

The difference is that the Cowboys were actually trying when they played the Bears. They have quit at this point and don't care.

  • In reply to gpldan:

GPL, I agree with you on just about everything in this post. To be honest, I really did think the comment was pretty useless, but I'll say that I usually reserve arguing with someone shitting on a win for when Irish does it. Take from that what you will. Maybe I had them confused, like what happens to 30SD and myself all the damn time (except that it doesn't).

  • In reply to gpldan:

Fk me! That was some insightful verbalisation right there GPL. We do need to stand behind the stronger sex (and that's the ladies, sorry guys) and end the tyranny of the Cock.

BTW - he might have skinny-looking arms, but that Fitzpatrick dude packed a howitzer for an arm I thought. Call it blasphemy, but I'd swap him for Cutty in a heartbeat. That Steve Johnson looks like a baller too. And their NT beat the shit out of Kreutz and CW. They'll be a good team in a year or two after they draft a couple of tackles.

I see you boys are having/had your elections. The whole Rep/Dem thing is funny to outsiders. It's two sock puppets being held up by the same guy. The guy in the street always gets screwed at the end of the day. I think it was James Madison that said the American Constitution wasn't designed to protect the guy in the street, but to keep the majority of the power in the hands of the few.

And the Packers just royally kicked the crap out of the Cowboys. Anyone think we could beat them again? We really dropped the baby on the Hawks/Skins games ...

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

that was really a jackass move, sacking Kitna during the last 2 seconds of the game. Not classy, Green Bay. Just rude and obnoxious, much like your fans.

  • In reply to kenbill:

Actually, I recall reading a while back that grabbing a guy by his hair is fair game in the NFL. I can't argue with that, he could always tie it back and tuck it up into his helmet. And BTW, mine's longer than his...

  • In reply to tobijohn:

Yep, I believe that was clarified due to Polamalu and the spate of guys with dreads.

  • In reply to tobijohn:

Reason #2309 I would love to play in the NFL. Chris Johnson tries to dance by you and you just grab two handfuls of locks and drag him to the ground. A flag gets thrown and you dance up to the ill-informed official. "Stick that back in your pocket ump - I didn't do anything wrong, his hair is fair game."

    Correct and sweet.

  • In reply to gpldan:

Austin Collie got smashed between two Eagles defenders and looks hurt bad.

The Eagles hit him clean, but they threw the unnecessary roughness flag after the fact, partly due to the fact he got hurt.

This is going to start the hitting controversy back up. There was a slight grazing of helmet to helmet by the 2nd defender, but it was so incidental as to not be funny. The defender clearly was trying to go shoulder to shoulder, it couldn't have been more obvious.

Philly fans went nuts, as expected.

  • In reply to gpldan:

Um, that was a brutal helmet-to-helmet hit, intentional or not. A slight graze wouldn't have knocked anyone out. Maybe you didn't see the full replay. The first guy grazed him, the second guy nailed him.

  • In reply to Ufficio:

Um, at halftime everyone called it clean in the CBS studio, including Sharpe and Cowher. Cowher was adamant that the NFL has nothing to review in that play.

  • In reply to gpldan:

I'll trust my own eyes on this one. If you call that a graze, your blind.

  • In reply to gpldan:

johnny "waffle" chicago - I read the posts and you said you were gone for the evening at eight sixteen. ...pants on fire...

  • In reply to kenbill:

i couldn't sit there and not respond to the lunacy. i am going on hiatus until next week to make up for excess blogging today. You'd think we fucking lost by 40...

  • In reply to hollywood1:

The world has been surreal like the Twilight Zone the last ten days. On a good note, the Bears had a balanced offense today, had some long drives, and actually scored three touchdowns.

  • In reply to TheFifth:

The backs averaged 2.6 yards rushing against the NFL's worst rush defense. The QB was our leading rusher. Again. Just sayin' ...

  • In reply to hollywood1:

That'll happen once we face an offense, next week?

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

Irish, i'll take man coverage every play where they blitz and blow their loads right away and Cutler can move out of the pocket for 15 yards every time. he didn't lead the team in rushing on 4 yard emergency scrambles. He had about 12 yards a carry and exploited what the defense gave him. he didn't throw the picks and didn't throw it away. he just tucked it and ran. Rodgers would have stretched those runs a little better but it is what it is. he is the master of the QB scramble.

  • In reply to kenbill:

Let's examine for a minute our division based on this week's games.

Chicago and Minny both had games against weak teams that a playoff contender should beat easily. Both teams won with a squeaker, meaning the result could have easily gone the other way. Translation - the Bears and Vikings are both middle of the road at best.

The Packers, on the other hand, did what a contender is supposed to do against easy prey. In the words of Deion Sanders "These highlights brought to you by the Green Bay Packers."

Detroit, who are supposed to be the worst in the division, kept up with the Jets (another contender). They didn't win, but they proved they aren't a pushover either. And they could have won that game if a couple of plays had gone differently.

What this all means... this will be the last year Detroit picks in the top 5, if they even make it this year. Minny will take Detroit's spot as the whipping boy of the division unless they make a serious upgrade at head coach. Green Bay will continue to grab the spotlight.

    Where will the Bears be?

  • In reply to mottystone:

Still no love for Detroit? I have Detroit above the Bears and the Vikes from what I've seen. The only team in the division that's on the up. Stafford is doing way better than Cutler and I've dropped Cutler wholesale in FF for Stafford who's widely available:

    6 TDs
    1 INT
    535 YDS
    91.3 RTG

  • In reply to mottystone:

If that's not true I don't get that either.

    Remember. Multiple concussions.

He was born and educated in Philadelphia. Explain.

  • In reply to mottystone:

LMAO^^ Let's see Cutler throw to a guy like Calvin Johnson(EASILY and UNDISPUTEDLY the best WR in the leage) with a better O-line than he has now. He'd throw for 4500 every year.

  • In reply to hollywood1:

    Things that impressed me:

Oline. Damn, did aliens come down and replace them in the bye?

Culter. His footwork, accuracy, and throwing into triple coverage still make me nervous, but he looked MUCH more competent today.

Martz play-calling: run/pass ratio about 50/50, and with a few dumb calls, otherwise kept the D off balance.

    Stuff that makes me nervous:

Our "bend but don't break" D. It's supposed to give up a lot of pass yds, and rely on turnovers, but damn, it can't rely on fumbles and ints EVERY game, esp against teams that aren't winless.

Our run-game. Culter was our best rusher of the day against the last ranked run D. That doesn't inspire confidence.

Our Sp teams. I just graded them an A, and low and behold, Gould misses a FG, and we get avg returns, however Maynard pins them on the 1 and Izzy once again blocks a kick. We need to revert back to form here - I don't want to start worrying about this phase of the game - I got enough stress already lol

  • In reply to hollywood1:

Check out Cutler's post-game suit. The Wiggles Waffles in the morning. Dark brown solid would have been G.Q.. Note: dark brown hankie in pocket of jacket --- wipe the sweat Jay.

Jay has been working with Howard Stern on media.

  • In reply to hollywood1:

    Get Peppers well...

  • In reply to BearsChick:

    Fuck. Vikes win.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

The Vikes were who they thought they were, and they let 'em off the hook. Go ahead and crown their ass!

  • In reply to BearsChick:

Huge gameplanning change that if made earlier this year would have resulted in a 6-2 record. This type of gameplan will result in more victories. Defense had takeaways and the result is a W. Just another victory on the way to winning the division. we tweaked and it worked. we'll tweak some more and it we will improve. Thank God we don't have to deal with Nintendo Martz anymore. too much proof exists that if we run a balanced yet creative plan we fucking move the ball. bear down. Peppers please recover.

  • In reply to hollywood1:

How? Bears Chick was spot on - this was barely a victory. I mean seriously, the Bills are 0-8! Carolina *maybe* worse. make an argument for Carolina being worse and we still struggled to beat the second worst team in the league. The dropped balls the Bills had, a tipped pass - whatever - we were not significantly better than the Buffalo Bills. Every single team we play from here on in can kick the crap out of us, especially Detroit. We couldn't even run the ball against the worst run defense in the league. We'll have to win games without any help from our offense and we know how that story goes.

  • In reply to BearsChick:

I agree. We won a squeaker because of a Tim Jennings pick. The Bills gave us all we could handle.

I doubt Blogfather will be pleased.

  • In reply to gpldan:

    Just win, baby!

  • In reply to BearsChick:

Hey BC, they all count. Buffalo isn't that bad. Their O can score some points. Fitzpatrick runs that spread dink and dunk to perfection. Evans and Stevie can catch and Roscoe has speed to burn. They will beat some teams in the second half of the season. Our O was good enough and the D stepped up when they had to. Gould had a brutal game and it didn't cost us.

    I'm happy we won.

  • In reply to BearsChick:

Welcome Bears Chick, and I agree. We were a tipped pass away from overtime with a team that hasn't beaten anyone in half a season.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

Wow, I can't believe we won that game.

Now all we need it triple overtime and a queens loss.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

Glory hallughia (or how every you spell it), see Martz..don't get stupid. Wasn't pretty but a good solid performance by the defense and a much better performance by the offense. The Queens are next!!!!!

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

Williams is really not leveraged well enough to play that Guard spot; maybe he'll get better but he was getting manhandled on run plays.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

Yes he was. He singlehandedly took out Kreutz and Forte on that third and one that made us punt to the Bills for a possible game-tying score.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

I'm almost positive Pepper either strained his neck, or more likely, suffered a mild concussion (hopefully, just mild). I played football, and a knee to the head (esp by a running back with horse legs) is almost worse than getting lit up by a safety.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

God, I can't believe Arizona blew that one.

  • In reply to hollywood1:

    Arizona is so fucking God-awful

  • In reply to hollywood1:

No way they can overturn this.

  • In reply to hollywood1:

    queens OT

Trac, welcome back. Uffi... don't sell the farm just yet baby. It's NEVER over till it's over.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

    Attaboy, Matty!!!!
    Nice call, nice call.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

Bennett's first TD this year? MVP today, and very sexual 2 pt conversion.

  • In reply to Ufficio:

Why in the FUCK wasn't this playbook being used all year. Jesus christ for fuck sake!

  • In reply to nicholsra:

Cutler is so lucky that didn't get picked, wow.

  • In reply to nicholsra:

a score to start the fourth quarter and a stop and we have got this. c'mon boys lets finish this out.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

DJ Moore almost personally gave up 60 yards on that drive. Not his best work.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

Anybody feel like tackling Steve Johnson? WTF.

And ladies and gents, that is the Bills season in a nutshell.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

    Where's the pass rush?

Been saying that all year, we don't have one, ninety one million dollars later ...

  • In reply to Ufficio:

So, what are the chances that next week is between tow new head coaches?

  • In reply to EVILteddie:

Very possible Minny will have a new HC, but no way in hell we do... unfortunately.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

marching,marching,marching.marching..oh shit score! WTF..... maybe we should change W/L records. oh we blocked a EP? what do you know we showed up for a play.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

And Favre throws a pick in the Arizona endzone! Man, we better hope that fucker plays next week. No way Jackson could be worse.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

You know if the Bears barely win this game, it will be about how bad they are. But when the Chiefs and Ravens barely beat the Bills, its about how "gutsy" they are.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

There's the inevitable bonehead mistake...3rd and 10, No problem, our D gives up a 46yarder.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Oh no, we're at the 1!!!

  • In reply to kenbill:

False Start Sweepstakes - Bears lead - 4-1.

  • In reply to kenbill:

    Good as Gould....wait what?

  • In reply to kenbill:

We should be winning this game by a minimum of 28 points by now.
Superior bye week --- we evaluated some things and tightened them up.

  • In reply to kenbill:

jack the only thing that got tightened up was the sphinter's of the fans.

  • In reply to kenbill:

    Stupid..stupid...stupid mistakes...and it cost us!

Move the Bears to The Holes in the Shoes Division then.

  • In reply to nicholsra:

thank you offense for not completeing 3rd downs and again watching our D try to save the game...F ME

  • In reply to nicholsra:

The Bears look like they have all year. Can't run, and can't score in the Red Zone.

  • In reply to EVILteddie:

That penalty on Tillman represents everything I hate about the NFL. He pulls up and barely bumps the QB, and it's a "late hit", 15 yards.

  • In reply to EVILteddie:

Oh and committing too many bad penalties.

  • In reply to EVILteddie:

TT...says he hopes that we don't take a knee...well guess what WE FU@!$!@$KING take knee..YOU SUCK LDL!!!

  • In reply to kenbill:

Our RBs have 14 yards on 11 carries against the worst run defense in football.

  • In reply to Ufficio:

    Wang Poon!

  • In reply to Ufficio:

Wasn't a doubt in my mind we'd let them score a TD on that drive. We're level with the worst team in football. Regardless of whether or not we win this game we are done for the season. We suck.

  • In reply to Ufficio:

    Cover no one?

  • In reply to Ufficio:

How many times are the Bears going to waste timeouts today?

  • In reply to Ufficio:

Consistent receiving, running offense - two words. Chester Taylor.

  • In reply to Ufficio:

1st and goal on the four. Not quite. Your TE Mr. Greg Olsen .... way to go.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

We lead in the False Start Sweepstakes once again: 2-1/

  • In reply to Sirwiz:

DAMN! Favre just threw what should have been a pick 6, but the idiot Cardinal dropped it before the endzone and it went out for a touchback.

  • In reply to Sirwiz:

Hot read Jay --- no pick. Yea!

    Excellent Bye Week work.

This game now scheduled to last three days with no score.

  • In reply to Sirwiz:

Another throw off the back foot by Cutler, another incomplete.

There is just NO reason on that Hester incomplete that Cutler's mechanics need to suck like that. He had time and plenty of room to step into his throw.

  • In reply to EVILteddie:

The Bills take the field --- the sound of one hand clapping.

  • In reply to hollywood1:

Is it bad that I am looking forward to the Blackhawks tonight more than this game?

  • In reply to EVILteddie:

CBS Boomer picks Bills over Bears --- Boomer's name should be changed to Leslie Titmuss.

  • Maybe the Bears convert 2 or 3 3rd downs today!

  • Thanks Doc...what do I owe for the session? lol

  • Definitely. That's why I never say any team is what their record says they are. Too much variance, too few samples as they say.

But it's clear this could become a good team if the offense gets its act together and the defense/specials stay good. Fortunately they've stayed in position to remain in control of their destiny in the meantime.

  • Just listened to JJ interview with LDL(The King of all Ass-Clowns)says " We are getting off the bus running"....will see

  • whoops...sarcastic comment.... well there it is!!!

I will let it go with..

    BEAR THE FU@!%$!@%K DOWN!!!!!

  • She's not a noob, she just shows up once every 12 months.

  • Like MBP said Doc, BC has been here quite a few times before... just on gameday every 4-6 games... which is fine, but bring some A game man. And I've been an asshole to plenty of people who bring big general statements without anything else.

The vagina thing just made me giggle so I threw it in there. I get where you're coming from Doc, but when it comes down to it, this place is like any other sports focused scene... if a girl (or dude) showed up to a bar where your crew were watching the game and threw that one out after not saying much (or anything) during the game

  • MB30SD...

I never complained that people were being hard on me here. I never asked for a "pass" on anything. I just posted my comments.

While I'm not sure how one distinguishes your insightful "boom chakalaka" and "damn pep is a giant" posts from my allegedly vacuous one sentence posts, I don't really care either. I can't please everyone, and never will. I blog for the Huffington Post, so it's not as if I haven't ever had my articles posted on other blogs and ripped to shreds. People can be mean. That's life.

  • In reply to BearsChick:

    I guess that

  • In reply to MB30SD:

send her that Bears version of Finnegans Wake you wrote a while back. That thing put us all to shame. You had footnotes and a glossary in that post. Boom shock a locka !

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Let's hear a cheer for DeMarcus Ware and Ball to "get to" Smilin' Jack" Rodgers.

Australian - Canadian Rules football has erupted in Lambeau.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

I don't have a problem with the motivational level of our defense (for the most part). My problem is with the offense. They have talent but they lack passion. They, in my opinion, reflect the emotional affect of over-xanaxed Lovie Smith. They show up on the field and play, but they don't give a lot of heart. Cutler looks like he couldn't care less whether the Bears win or not. Have you seen the guy do a press interview? It's unprofessional rubbish. "Yeah...uh...we gotta win. It didn't work...uhhh.." (Scratches head, eyes dart around room...awkwardly shifts weight). Same with the pouting on the sidelines after he throws an interception--unprofessional and immature. I think Cutler would rise to the challenge of strong, fiery coach and play at a better level. Martz is certainly better than Ron Turner, but I still think we need a head coach who is more rough around the edges.

As for the stuff in my profile...I think I wrote that last year, referring to last year's Bears.

  • In reply to BearsChick:

RT @mikecwright: @FQD1911 Oh yeah. I've asked a few guys I trust about him. They say "Cut[ler]" is cool as a fan. Said he's acts that way toward media. (http://twitter.com/#!/mikecwright/status/29627219056)

RT @mikecwright: @FQD1911 Yeah, a lot gets made of body language and all that stuff. I don't subscribe to any of that. (http://twitter.com/#!/mikecwright/status/29627219056)

your witness chief (or chiefette, whichever you prefer). and you blogged for the Huff Post, eh? well I blogged for "Da Bears Blog" a couple of times...those guys are assholes and called me mean names :-(

  • In reply to BearsChick:

Who gives a shit how he acts in a presser? I care that he threw the pick; he could go punch the ball boy afterwards for all I care. It's the turnover that counts.
If Lovie made smart choices with challenges, time-outs, personnel, etc, I'd cut him alot more slack for his personality. It just so happens that he's an idiot with the personality of a washboard.

  • In reply to BearsChick:

They're fining Sanchez for body language - it's an excellent idea. And about $5,000 per press conference shrug after a nightmare game is about right too. Might actually have something on Smith and Xanax there - that could be it exactly. During the game I think he looked mildly perturbed on one particular penalty, and relieved on another. Both towards the end when the pills would be wearing off.

  • In reply to BearsChick:

It could, just *cold* be that Jay is not comfortable around the press. And while it is a necessary evil as an NFL QB, there is no rule that he has to LIKE getting up there and responding to oft-dimwitted reporters.

  • In reply to Mastodon:

Doh! I could, just *could*, type properly.

  • In reply to Mastodon:

    Al Harris to be released.

  • In reply to Mastodon:

Julius Pepper's has not had the sacks or tackles that we were hoping he would have.

I still think he was worth the money. Irish, you might not, but he has changed games for us and I still see people trying to block him with two people or more.

I just wish there was a way for him and others to get back there quick enough before the qb dumps it off to a short pass running back in the flat..which btw, how come we still can't pick off the little shit that we see coming everyday?

  • In reply to BearsChick:

    Let's talk about "Chicks Man".

    Oooooooo, the Huffington Post.

MB - Do not encourage Lady Macbeth.

  • In reply to BearsChick:

no one said you complained and no one said you asked for a pass. what the fuck are you talking about?

You have a fair weather mindset and there is a shit ton of proof to support that statement. I was actually called out that i wouldn't have called out your shitty post if our blog moderator had written it. Your response to about 5 paragraphs worth of insight, ideas and opinions was that i misplaced an extra word? Don't be offended that someone called you out for shitty writing and unsupported statements, just get better at it. That's not being mean, that's life.

  • In reply to hollywood1:

writing about football that is, i'm sure you are better at your Huff position

  • In reply to hollywood1:

i will also forgive you as a fan if you can tell me who the picture of this guy is

  • In reply to hollywood1:

Al Michaels just used the phrase "early in the two thousands" referring to Kitna.

Does he mean like the early twenty-first century? The early 19th Century? Late 20th Century...Al is hilarious.

Al makes Collinsworth sound like Socrates.

  • In reply to hollywood1:

I DO write about football for the Huff Post, on their sports page.

  • In reply to BearsChick:

    We forgive you.

  • In reply to BearsChick:

okay, to restore some of my faith in sports humanity who is the angry looking but extremely kind in person black dude in my avatar. Hint: it is not Greg Olsen or Walter Payton. He has also never been on E! and was never in a sex video with K. Kardashian.

  • In reply to hollywood1:

    Oj Simpson?

  • In reply to hollywood1:

    No bagels at Lambeau tonight.

  • In reply to kenbill:

    I don't get that.

It's true what they say about concussions. McMahon freaked me out with his comment at the 85 Bears' reunion saying that sometimes he walks into a room and then doesn't know why he walked into the room in the first place. Story of my life. I used to put it down to the chronic, but I quit that.

  • In reply to hollywood1:

My compliment to GPLDAN on the phrase "shag carpeting (sic) carpeted crawl space that passes for a Wisconsin rec room". Well-written.

    Thanks.

  • In reply to hollywood1:

And was perhaps MVP for the Bears against the Bills ... or do we give that to Izzy?

  • In reply to BearsChick:

    You take the good.
    You take the bad.
    You take them both.
    And there you have...

The facts of life, the facts of life!
C'mon guys - you are what your record says you are. The key to the rest of the season will be continuity on the OL and Martz continuing to make a concerted effort to run the damn ball.
If the Bears can pull those two things off, we're OK. If not, we're fscked.

  • In reply to BearsChick:

Respect on the Worst thing about Chicago update !

And gentle blog persons, I've just realised that Bear Chick is from Chicksinthehuddle.com - I actually posted on there a while back to invite Bears Chick over here for a visit, telling her that we weren't such a bad bunch and needed a tender hand. Man was I wrong ....

Today we are the Brett Favre of Blogs - with relation to cock-shots sent by phone, and not the ability to throw TD passes.

  • I would have written exactly the same thing she did. It was true. We beat an 0-8 team. Whoopy fkn doo.

No more vadge attacks! They're made of sugar and spice and all things nice, and eh ... we're eh ... I don't know ... rats and snails and puppy dogs tails?

  • Wordslinger Al Michaels just said that Dallas has a "three-headed running attack".

    Cerebus rampant in Texas.

  • I can spend my commercial break reading the treatise Johnny Waffle wrote a few posts above, or I can go to the fridge and get a beer.

    ..........walking to fridge...............

  • In reply to BearsChick:

don't worry, the treatise will be there when you get back! I am done for the night. We can pick this up next week where we will probably both be able to agree that Brett Favre is a rod.

  • In reply to hollywood1:

but he doesn't apparently have much of one...heh heh

  • In reply to BearsChick:

Some might say he is a "pocket fisherman".

    From Ronco!

  • In reply to hollywood1:

Someone on the Dallas O-line might want to pull Matthews hair just a bit more.

  • In reply to hollywood1:

    Did Collinsworth just say "machete"?

  • In reply to BearsChick:

'Machete' is a brutal movie by the way. How Bob DeNiro agreed to be in that piece of crap with Stephen "Come over here and sit on the couch. Everything's going to be okay. You're a very beautiful woman - did anyone ever tell you that?" Segal, I don't know.

  • In reply to BearsChick:

The fourth quarter and the Packers leading by four touchdowns are still passing. Is there a better definition of "no class"?

  • In reply to BearsChick:

NBC should reconsider fan shots at Lambeau. There's way too much evidence of in-breeding.

  • In reply to BearsChick:

Jeff - What is the record number of posts?

  • In reply to kenbill:

this isnt even close, wait until the offseason. We will be having the same thread for like a month straight.

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

When we'll return to ..... the Godhead, Israel/Palestine, and Olsen is a tool/no he's not arguments and 'Which Bears player would you sleep with ... or you die?'

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

Oh wait, we didn't do that one yet ...

... okay ... 'Which Bears player would you sleep with ... or you die?'

BC and Nicole are not exempt, I'd be interested to know. Although I'm having a million a piece on Hattie Hillenmeyer or Hairstyle Olsen.

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

    Pringles.... who else?

  • In reply to TheFifth:

You like the pain, eh Cor? I'll have to go with Girly Thor as he's the closest thing to a woman on the roster.

    That was too easy.

  • In reply to kenbill:

    Almost certainly over 700.

  • In reply to kenbill:

Okay Matt Lauer and our former president no longer have orange skin.

  • In reply to kenbill:

Honestly.......a win is great, and it was a win.....but the reason half of you guys get absolutely depressed and infuriated after a loss is because you get hard-ons after a victory, no matter how sloppy and uninspiring it is. Look obviously you should be psyched about a win, but as far as showing promise going forward? C'mon, you're just breaking your own hearts over the next few weeks. This team is 5-3 (in great position, and better off than they should be) and it's going to take a collapse in green bay in order for us to take the division. It still could happen, but please, for your own sakes.....don't hold your breath. The 2010 chicago bears are pretty pedestrian, and they have not at one point this season convinced the objective audience that they will be anything other than such. Get psyched about the win, but don't go off on some chick because she told it like it is. Everyone last week was talking about how shitty this team is, and how lost this season is, and now a three point win against the bills is supposed to change the season? The same thing happened after we beat the previously winless panthers.....

  • In reply to brocklanders:

Well said. And she's a *Bears* chick, for that. Huddle round the Chick !

  • In reply to brocklanders:

    Bears Chick - exactly right.

  • In reply to brocklanders:

i feel like i'm in the twilight zone. does anyone actually read the fucking posts on here? go look and see how this shit started. unbelievable.

  • In reply to brocklanders:

Im holding my breath. The other week you were talking shit for us sayin the season is over cause we lost, now that we win your sayin it dont matter we aint goin nowhere. Dude make your mind up shit. Buffalo is a good team and is way better than their record. Im faithful in my BEARS! so why do you BEARTHEFUCKDOWN!

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

what i was talking about the other week is the same thing i'm talking about this week......but now the shoe is on the other foot. It's as if half the people on this site have the blinders on, every single win is a season changer and every single loss is time to fire the management and get ready for next year....the bears are 2-2 over their last 4 weeks, Over which they have been incredibly consistent. They beat 2 winless teams on the road and got edged out by two mediocre teams at home. They are not the worst team in the league, but they are not a contender, they have never shown promise of being a contender at any point this year. Everyone here thinks the bears are frustrating in their inconsistency this year but it's this blog communities fickle emotions that have oscillated from week to week. They same bears team has come out every single week this year. They are mediocre but they are gutty and they have pulled off a few wins with a little help this year. We have never looked good this year, but we looked like we were in pretty good position a few weeks ago, but the packers look like they aren't going to lay down despite all of their injuries.

I understand drinking the kool-aid, and blind faith and subjective perspective because that's what's being a fan is all about, but i guarantee if we lose next week, a game that we probably should lose, everyone is going to be irate with the team, the franchise, and the management. The fact is that the bears are the bears, the same bears we thought we were gonna get when we kicked off the season.

  • In reply to brocklanders:

Well said. Hard to believe to believe that after Carolina some people had us in the Superbowl. We have been blessed with injuries so far, no doubt. If Urlacher goes down we can shut up shop though.

And sorry, but as much as I love the guy, Peppers wasn't worth what he cost us - not just in cash, but the amount of positions we upgraded. "Oh, but the attention he gets from offenses frees up the other guys to grab the glory ..."

You'd think so, wouldn't you? But no.

    * Halfway through the season we are tied for third worst sack total in the NFL.

    * Peppers is tied 68th in the NFL sack league with two sacks.

    * Our Jules is tied 317th for combined tackles with 20. (14 solo and 6 assists)

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

7th ranked total defense, 2nd vs the run, 1st in forced fumbles, 17pts a game avg

Sacks are fun to look at and they are effective but the defense is playing like we want them to and he is one of the reasons. His presence on the field goal teams is awesome too.

Watch the game again and notice the pressure he put on the QB and on one series he shut down 3 plays in a row at a key point in the game resulting in a punt. i'm pleased but know he could do more.

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

    This just in:

Noam Chomsky is a Bears fan and says they will win NFC North.

  • In reply to brocklanders:

"(Center Olin Kreutz) brought to my attention we were 0-for-10 on the goal line," Taylor said. "I didn't know anything about it. That's kind of bad."

What? Why aren't they plastering that up around Halas Hall in letters 10 feet high? Same for 3rd down conversions ...

  • In reply to brocklanders:

    With capital letters?
There is no sulking in blogging.
    With a Finnegan's Wake reference?
Can anyone on this blog translate Finnegan's Wake?

Thought they are were know we they who.

  • In reply to brocklanders:

Which quarterback are you in bed with - sort of - like can you choose one to play for your team. But to misquote Jerry - "they do like their team and they like their equipment". You know what I mean?

  • In reply to kenbill:

    Death is an option -

    Kitna or Todd Collins?

  • In reply to kenbill:

What? Sleeping with them? Damn, I'm not ready to die and I don't have life insurance for the girls. Okay, Kitna ... no wait, Collins. I could fight him off. I mean I don't have to just give in, do I? We could defend ourselves right?

    Just don't ask Urlacher/Ray Lewis ....

  • In reply to kenbill:

I believe it was when we beat Minnesota at the end of last season. Don't think it hit 800, but not far off.

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

I answer to the name 'Jeff" also ... and 'Wendy' at weekends ....

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

And congratulations our Bears on scoring points in the third quarter. Positives. And we're the hardest team to convert third downs against in the NFL. See? You try and say two positive things about the offense and one of them ends up being about the defense. Wait. CT went in from the one, untouched. Welcome back Kevin Shaffer. That's two things.

  • Wow!!! Clay Matthews on air guitar. Green Bay is a very lonely sort of town.

  • Pssssst, Bears Chick. It's Earl Bennett. But don't tell anybody I told you okay? I'm already on the outs for sticking up for you.

  • Nike left out one choice in the LeBron James commercial - LeBron: "What should I do?" --- How about? - SHUT UP.

  • Yeah, if that was you.

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

Hey, I've figured it out. Artoo *is* Bear Chick.

Supey's tight spandex got him all bi-curious but he wussed out at the end and couldn't put the shot of him in fishnets and full make-up as his avatar. Mom's McRibs box was slotted in. It's cool Artoo, we want a pan-demographic blog here : believers, non-believers, don't-knows, pinkos, right-wingers, lesbians, Muslims, Jews, Hari-Krishnas, FEMALES!, and y'know, even Greg Olsen fans ...
