  • In reply to JohnGalt:

    my prediction for the game:

    Hasselbeck dies

  • In reply to hollywood1:

Damn, Johnny, they bearly laid a glove on the guy. I don't think he'll need his uniform laundered for next week.

  • In reply to hollywood1:

Both of our tackles looked like they didn't know the game had started.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

Thanks Albert. Someone finally saw what I saw.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

This game is on Tice and Cutler. The OLB and SS blitzes were so obvious everybody knew they were coming. Cutler has to check out of that set, and the tackles have to stop chasing the DEs on inside stunts.

We fell for that trick 5 times by my count. Stunt the DEs inside, the tackles chase them and the OLB or SS or nickel back comes in unimpeded.

This is a team that doesn't understand its assignments and adjustments. They're collectively lost.

And that - you can lay on Martz.

  • In reply to gpldan:

you mean Tice & Martz, right?

  • In reply to gpldan:

It's my understanding that you do not audible in Martz' offense.

  • In reply to gpldan:

I'm thinking Tice and Martz are all rep and no show. The clown car must be burned with everyone except Marinelli in it.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

The D missed Briggs, big time. OL is beyond bad. I hope I'm wrong but it seems we got fucked on the QB trade. This is the 1st time I've ever thought that but Cutler looks lost. I know he's got terrible mechanics and always gotten away with it but it's killing him now. His accuracy is terrible. Part of that is his mechanics. He always looks like he's off balance, throwing off his back foot or flat-footed.

Maynard fucking killed us today. Crappy punts all day. The Seattle punter was lights out for 57 minutes and then Earl put his lights out. The penalty on Manning's return was invisible. That's a 91 yard difference. Killer. There 90 yard drive was the ball game. Why we weren't in man to man all day is beyond me. Hassellbeck was super accurate today but every time we went to 7 in the box they gave the ball to Forsett for 10 yds. Unreal.

We deserved to lose. Peppers was invisible, tackling on the D was awful and they basically wanted it more than we did. The O is laughable. It's like Terry Shea's offense with a little more talent. Hard to watch.

    Our ST's still fucking rock!

  • In reply to CanadaBear:

+1 on the phantom holding call.

  • In reply to CanadaBear:

In fairness to Cutler, he's pretty good given better protection, but needs to understand that finesse passes are sometimes called for.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

    Receptions. targeted.
    J. Knox 5 5 24.0 0 67 11
    E. Bennett 3 55 18.3 0 6
    M. Forte 3 40 13.3 0 7
    D. Aromashodu 2 40 20.0 0 5
    D. Hester 2 26 13.0 0 3
    B. Manumaleuna 1 5 5.0 0 1
    C. Taylor 1 4 4.0 0 2
    G. Olsen 0 0 0.0 0 4
    Team 17 290 17.1 0 67

Look how many times some of our guys were targeted and how some of them didn't even catch half of them. That is miscommunication.

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

Sorry, it looked better a second ago. Johnny got caught it 5 times and was targeted 11. Come on Johnny. Aromashodu, caught 2 and dropped 5.

My biggest fear coming into this year for the offense was a 1000 page playbook handed to a bunch of dumb receivers behind a line that can't block. Quelle surprise.

  • FIRST! BEAR DOWN MOTHAFUCKAAAAAAAAA!

  • In reply to hollywood1:

    haha

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

I'd like to commission an artist to draw 31 different pictures--a Bear mauling the mascot of every other NFL team. Might be tricky to have a Bear mauling electricity (Chargers) or a jet plane, but still...

  • In reply to IBNO:

A Steeler would be tough too, but I'd pay good money for some of those drawings.

  • In reply to ESPNemy:

How bout a Bear breaking a lightening bolt in half, throwing them at a jet plane overhead, and having the tatter shards landing on a steel plant, which then explodes in slow motion? To violent? OK, maybe not lol

    BEAR DOWWWWWWNNN!

  • In reply to ESPNemy:

Some day when I have the money, I'm buying 31 shirts with the Bears logo on the front and 30 different teams logo on the back, except the Packers. You should be able to figure out what shirt I'm wearing on Sundays.

Just enough time to walk the hounds and then head for the Stadium Grill.

    Let's go, Bears!

Pound that ball at 'em some more today and then finish them off with with a few darts.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

    Al,

Where the heck is the stadium grill?

I lived in Tucson from 94-06 - never heard of it..

  • In reply to JohnGalt:

Orange Grove at Thornydale, in that SAM LEVITZ shopping center. It USED to be a Famous Sam's until about '07.

    good call!

  • In reply to hollywood1:

    Awesome clip.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZpnHl8aXZpM
Here's a funny story. My Mom's from Upper Michigan and Dad is from Chicago. My Dad's buddy from work, Dallas (Dalla) used to come over for dinner, and he spoke "Jive". My Mom couldn't understand him, and vise versa, so my Dad used to interpret their conversations during dinner. Looking back it was hilarious.

  • In reply to hollywood1:

The Beas are actually getting some run this week and are favored for the first time in LV. Let's hope the predictions are right and the Bears D will dominate!

  • In reply to IBNO:

anyone have a link to the streaming game?

  • In reply to jdawg:

yeah a link would be appreciated...Italian TV doesn't seem to give enough respect to the bears

  • In reply to jdawg:

Maybe I'm too into football - I literally had a dream where I was on the practice field as a safety, and who else but Da Coach was out there encouraging me, saying that I'm ready to go. I fucked up a few drills, and he doesn't lose faith, and keeps refraining to stick with it. I end up getting an int in a drill, and run it all the way back (unnecessarily) for a TD. Da Coach yelled, "Nice Job!" And I woke with a smile on my face...

    Interpret that Freud!

  • How about a first down?

  • Nice hit by Harris. Much better than Tillmans missed tackle.

  • There's the Big Toe! He even beat a double team. See that Tommie?

  • That Sprint knee doctor sums up health care extremely well...

  • From what I see so far. Play calling sucks.

  • The Bears are getting worked in the field position game here early.

  • c'mon bears let's get it together!

  • The best thing that could happen to the Bears right now would be to fall behind because that's what its gonna take for the Bears to start opening up the offense. We are not a running team yet. Lets not kid ourselves, spread em out and pass the darn ball.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    Really?

  • In reply to Shady:

Cutler is rusty and the only way to get him into his groove is to start throwing the rock. If we arent in the lead by half time I will be surprised.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    THAT shit was pathetic

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

whats going on with the D man?

  • In reply to MB30SD:

3 and outs and short fields are not helping.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Why can't Cutler pass the ball today, he has looked horrible.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    indeed, way off
    There we go!!

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Run call on second down killed that drive along with Cutlers happy feet.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.... nice commercial.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

C'mon, how are guys coming unblocked on nearly every play? Cutler doesn't even stand a chance back there. If you can't pass block at least go out and hit somebody in the run game. These 1-2 yd carries are not going to do the trick, get out there and knock somebody on their ass.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Bears have to lead the league in not even attempting to block DEs

  • In reply to reprisal:

It's like we have a bunch of Spanish bullfighters out there.

  • In reply to reprisal:

This isn't going well. Damn it.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Once Cutler warms up and our D starts to force turnover's everything will start to click MB.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Better start soon Trac. Dline getting zero preassure.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

What's Martz smoking? Call the screens and slants dude, we haven't got the line for these chess moves downfield.

IS it deaf and dumb day at soldier field? It's like a home game for the Seahawks. If they score a TD here stick a fork in the Bears.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

The Bears are not a very good team. They have not converted a single 3rd down yet, it's been like that all freakin year.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    Yeah, easy Eddie. Sheesh.

What's up with the open ends though. Man, that shit ain't working.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    JOHNNY KNOX!!!

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    There you go trac.

But to the other side... big plays only, won't get us to the big show. need consistency and real play.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Cutler has been shaky. Once he settles down and the O gets into any kind of a groove, we'll be ok.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

see the san diego score. Holy shit.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    Shotgun, I'm speechless,

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Ok, down by 1. No big deal.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

what says we go for it on 4th is it gets there?

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Still can't convert 3rd downs, not a good team.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    Cutler still looks real shaky

  • In reply to MB30SD:

why are we not running the ball? did martz not see what happen last week? fuck man this play calling sucks!

  • In reply to MB30SD:

While most teams are disappointed coming away with only 3 points inside the 20, the Bears are happy to come away with points in general.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

20 passes, 9 runs. Way to go Mike. SOmebody explain the bvasics to this guy. We're 0-14 on 3rd Down coversions in the last three halves.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

1st down in the red zone and we dont run at all! im fucking PISSED RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!! how did we score our first TD run play oh yea no shit fuck wad!

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

Cutler has to work himself back into game form. If we can take the lead early in the 3rd quarter then we can start dictating the play calling Fresno. Just have to keep scratching and clawing. We may start to feel more comfortable watching these games in or 4 weeks because its gonna take at least until then before our blocking can improve but until then, forget about it.

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

did you see that hit on DeSean Jackson? Holy shit!

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    Ouch.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    Enough baseball commercials, please.

Stop their run, and start ours... Damn it.

And get it in DA's hands again.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Bears need to sac up at halftime and come out swinging.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Had that game on in the background...was kinda surprised he was even able to stand up. Brutal.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    fuccck

  • In reply to MB30SD:

You cannot release your tight end without blocking the Outside linebacker. What is Martz doing other than trying to end Cutlers career?

  • In reply to MB30SD:

I hope Jay has a good health insurance policy.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Not going to win this game. O-line is horrible, can't convert on 3rd down, and Martz is refusing to let Cutler throw short passes when they are backed up. Martz is really failing this team.

  • In reply to EVILteddie:

Teddie, give it a rest. This game is still very winnable.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    +1

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

burn a time out on 1st down early in the 3rd quarter....solid coaching!

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Another 3rd down, another non-conversion. Laughable.

  • In reply to EVILteddie:

We get it Teddie. I know it's hard but sometimes you just gotta take a deep breath and close your eyes pal.

  • In reply to EVILteddie:

    COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • In reply to EVILteddie:

    ridiculous man, seriously.

  • In reply to EVILteddie:

    FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL

  • In reply to EVILteddie:

    Another 3rd down not converted.

  • In reply to EVILteddie:

0-8 on third down. not good.

  • In reply to EVILteddie:

I have to agree with Evil man... our oline is TERRIBLE. just pathetic.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Do we have the worst o=line in teh league? Anyone got the stats? That's 0 for 17 on 3rd down in this and the last game. That is beyond pathetic.

5'8 corners can't cover 6'5 receivers and please tell somebody to block the DBs coming in around open ends.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

boys we all knew the oline was horrible. this shouldnt be a surprise. our defense is faulting us today.

  • In reply to pizzatime7:

11 (13-2) points for the offense sucks, dude.

  • In reply to pizzatime7:

    sweet.

  • In reply to pizzatime7:

Hey in football on defense, should you tackle the running back?

  • In reply to pizzatime7:

Well guys hate to say it but we're fucked..no offense...fucking Martz keeps wanting the gaddamn big plays and there has been very little short passes. All Seattle's defense has to do is put an extra guy on the outside and he gets a free sack. What a fucking goddamned joke.

  • In reply to pizzatime7:

Good thing the Blackhawks are playing again. Makes me feel better when the Bears start sucking in October.

  • In reply to pizzatime7:

Well, that will probably do it. I cannot see the Bears scoring 10 more points today.

  • In reply to pizzatime7:

I would have bet my babies on Lynch scoring from the one. Game over man. Game over.

  • In reply to pizzatime7:

Rod Wilson, could you stand over the trap door please ...

  • In reply to pizzatime7:

ah the phantom holding call to kill any hope

  • In reply to pizzatime7:

    another wasted time out @#%$@#$

  • In reply to pizzatime7:

when the commentators are saying that everyone knows it's going to be a pass so they might as well not run anyway.... so we got that going for us.

  • In reply to pizzatime7:

Nice use of a timeout there

  • In reply to Mastodon:

THey know they won't be fucking needing it later on ...

  • In reply to Mastodon:

Unbelievable... or worse all too believable. We should have gone for that one. Maybe we can convert a 4th down since we cannot do it on 3rd...

  • In reply to Mastodon:

This is painful to watch. The offensive line is awful. How many times have we seen a blitz from the outside that is obvious to the rest of the world but the tackle decides to block down and end up double teaming a guy while the guy on the outside lays Cutler out on his back.

I don't understand where that hold came from either. I find it funny that the commentators (Billick specifically) say how good of a job the rookie is doing on Peppers. Then they cut to a play and the guy has his jersey wrapped up and holding him.

  • In reply to pizzatime7:

    I can't do this anymore.

Why do I get my hopes up?

Every team we play from here on out only has one more game's worth of film to dissect the crappy O and D of ours and rape us to death.

    4-12

    Yeah, I said it.

  • In reply to JohnGalt:

5-11 I still give us better than 50/50 @ buffulo and at least 5% in most of the other games.

  • In reply to pizzatime7:

Mike Martz is lost. Now we know why they interviewed everybody else and 'took so long' to hire him. These guys are the league's 31st pass defense. Jebus.

  • In reply to pizzatime7:

Id rather we lose and go away from the Lovie smith ex-Bucs,rams era than keep trotting out on the field this pathetic team.

  • In reply to johnkos:

    I agree JK.

  • In reply to johnkos:

And it all comes back to you Angelo. Give me the gun. Give me the address.

  • In reply to johnkos:

At least we are going to have a lot to talk about this week. Martz's blocking schemes are to blame from what I see. His playcalling has been horrible today. You can't pass every down and not account for outside rushers expecting good results. Turners play book would have worked today.

  • In reply to johnkos:

Like I said numerous times over the last several weeks. Team have been reviewing out game film. Martz's scheme's are bunk more than our personnel on the line.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

It's a combined fecal and mucus sandwich Trac ...

I'll apologise in advance for all the bile, anger and cursing that I'll be issuing.

And what's this ? 4th and 1 and we're punting. Jebus Nora Christ. We're not even *trying* to win. Four hours until I have to go to work, I can't believe I stayed up to watch this crap. The life of a Bear fan ...

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Cutler is really a disappointment. I don't think the guy will ever be anything. He doe not appear the have sufficient intelligence to be a good NFL quarterback.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    4 and 7 for GB.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Wow, hats off to Seattle's kicking game today.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

THAT was awesome! Great job hester.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

fuck. GB is going to tie it up

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

We need to score with mins left on the clock.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

What a lame game so far. Absolutely nothing to be happy with.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

MARTZ IS KILLIN US!!!!!!!!!! PLAY CALLING IS A FUCKIN JOKE!

DID HE FORGET WE HAVE TEs?
    BOOTLEGS?
    PLAYACTION?
    RUNNING THE BALL?
DEEP PASSES ALL DAY! wtf man MARTZ SHOULD GET HIS ASS WOMPED FOR THIS GAME!

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    0/11?

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    THESE COACHES ARE HORRIBLE!

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

How was that not a first down?

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

packers got stuffed on the goalline. 4th down few seconds left.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    Fuck, they scored.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Much like the rest of the game "not even close!"

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Bears 3-39 in their last 3rd down conversions

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Miami.... oh my god that was fucking so stupid. FUCKING MORONS!

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    what happened?

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    game over. so dissapointing.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    lol

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    OFFENSE IS A FUCKIN JOKE!
    MARTZ YOU SUCK!

  • In reply to MB30SD:

I love how the announcer even said "are they really?".

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Fuck it, I'll even have a go at Gould. What's the point in having a kicker that has no leg power?

  • In reply to MB30SD:

This team is hopeless. I am teetering precariously close to hoping for a nuclear meltdown for the rest of the season. I'm that mad. The Bears are done for the year. You heard it here. We will not go 500 the rest of the way. Season over.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

miami stopped them at the 2 3 times. on 4th and inches with seconds left, rodgers faked like he was making another audible and the miami defense basically stood up and started talking to each other... as roidgers snapped the ball and walked in without the defense doing anyuthing. THAT was super bad. Wow. Can't believe that shit.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    +1000

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Even with that score, I say this team officially sucks.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    DEVIN HESTER YOU ARE RIDICULOUS

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    go Devin...we're not done yet!

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    devin fucking hester!!!!!!!!!!

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Put out an APB on Earl Bennett. He just flat out murdered Seattle's punter.
Knocked his ass into next month.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

fuck man. I'm going to cry in my beer. Mayeb we'll get better, maybe the line will gell, maybe we'll make it to the playoffs, but as usual... I'm just sick of every single game being a nail biter, or us just plainly and simply looking like dogshit. Brutal man.

I have to say cutty is a feast or famine QB... and that's not good. At all.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

He was brutal today, even when he had time he overthrew people.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Wow, 2 mins left and no time out? Very sad.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

I love Julius Peppers. If you saw the Seahawk flying through the air like an actual seahawk on the punt return, that was his handiwork.

  • In reply to nnnnnnnn:

Argh. That's what I get for watching grainy web video. That was #80, not #90.

  • In reply to nnnnnnnn:

Looks like the Dolphins are going to take the Packers down.

  • In reply to nnnnnnnn:

and there u go! I blame our offense for this game. Inability to do anything right.
Martz is a retard! Did he forget that we actually have a run game, or TE's. His bullshit playcalling is to much show but doesnt do jackshit! I swear Martz should be getting his ass kicked for this one.

Lovie sometimes you gotta grab your balls and take control. I personally think we should of ran the ball more to counter their blitzes with some playaction. Or maybe even some more screen passes. Idk but whatever Martz was calling was bullshit.

  • In reply to nnnnnnnn:

Well, I would like to tip my cap to Earl Bennett for cracking the ribcage of the Seahawk kicker.

  • In reply to nnnnnnnn:

Bears home field fans are who I thought they were... They give no home field advantage. They give no energy , no noise, nothing. They should be ashamed.

  • In reply to Jlehr:

that is why i turned down a pair of tickets to next weeks game

  • In reply to hollywood1:

Soldier Field sucks. Only the yuppies can afford tickets between the 20's, or be willing to pay for them. The die-hards are all stuffed in the north end zone, and the accommodations are simply pathetic. You can't take a halftime piss without missing at least 5 minutes of the third quarter. I know it sounds like blasphemy, but I won't pay to go to a home game anymore. I would much rather go to a Bear game at Lambeau against the Packers.

  • In reply to TheFifth:

You guys are fucking nuts. The stadium is always loud and we do in fact give the bears a home field advantage. What did you see for the fans to root for yesterday? When any home team plays the way that we did yesterday, the fans aren't as in to it. Oh and fuck Lamb-Douche Feild cormonster. what kind of fan are you?

  • In reply to TheFifth:

Every time we lose we're the worst team in the NFL...

Defense: Izzy and Pepp are a solid pair of DEs (Pepp is a star). The hawks gameplanned to double the edge and force the DTs to step up. That's where we need the help. If we didn't have so many other needs, I would be looking for help in that spot, but we've got bigger problems elsewhere.
Linebackers are an above average squad when hurt and best in the NFL when healthy. If the offense kept them off the field more, they'd be 100% every game.
The secondary is what it is, but they're not terrible. They're doing their jobs and allowing the front 7 to force opposing offenses into mistakes on the 10+ play drives.
In all, our D is healthy.

Offense: We can't draft right now, so we need to stick with what we have.
Recievers... the combination of Olsen and Bennett has to do more on the short routes. Hester and Knox can burn all day, but it won't help if there's no short threat. I feel bad saying this, but Shaba might be the odd man out if everyone else does their jobs...
Blocking... okay here we suck. The best we can hope for is to maybe get one free agent somewhere and then just build a consistent unit. Everyone knows that's where we need to build the most, but for now the best we can do is pick our starters and at least create some consistency.
Running... Forte had a great TD run, but he was getting stopped for little or no yardage most of the game. I think play calling, not enough chances, O-line and weak play all contribute, but Forte has the skills to be great. He and Taylor need a fair shot to bring the run game back.
QB... Cutler is not the best QB in football right now. But he's also a solid starter. Look at the teams with 0 or 1 wins (excluding Dallas), I'll show you some QB problems.

Its a loss, fine. But the guys we have on the field can turn this around. The coaches have the knowledge, they just have to get these guys to execute.

  • In reply to hollywood1:

home team screwed me on the picks. not picking them again until the Bills game

  • In reply to FQD1911:

The Bills will kick the shit out of us.

  • In reply to Jlehr:

You only try 14 runs, you lose. I'm starting to revert to my original opinion of Mike Martz. What did the Bears have, maybe 3 runs in the second half? That is piss poor coaching.

  • In reply to Jlehr:

    +1

  • In reply to nnnnnnnn:

thank god packers lost. Now it's your turn Vikings.

  • In reply to nnnnnnnn:

  • In reply to nnnnnnnn:

At least the PACKERS LOST at home today.

  • In reply to nnnnnnnn:

    Jesus, romo is terrible.

  • In reply to nnnnnnnn:

you can't shit the bed on every third down and still win. where were the quick hits to the tightends, the quick passes? hawks quick passed the fuck out of us. that was tough to watch. watching how truly bad our tackles are at passblocking almost made me vomit. i refuse to comment any further.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

  • In reply to kenbill:

Three notes of the Seahawk's game.

    1. Jay Cutler got raped again. Both of our right Tackles let him get destroyed every time on third down. Mike Tice needs to figure out how to make them better or put someone in who can play better.

    2. We had no run game because no one could run. Besides the run we got from Chester Taylor, that was the only good run. Matty had a short td but that was it. The run game didn't really produce at all. It is all blocking. People are not run blocking or pass blocking well at all.

    3. Our receivers were not on the same page at all. I saw two throws for Knox where he messed up, Aromashodu dropped another pass and finally when Jay gets one play where he has time, Jay overthrows him.

The defense didn't that well either, how is people can still pass a lot on us. Every game so far we have gave up a lot of passing yards. We had so many missed tackles, missed assignments, and they kept us in the game but not enough to stop or win the game for us.

Overall, this is not the team that will win it's division. It is the o-line that is deciding our games. It's that front 5 not Jay, Forte, or even the Martz. It's all on that line. It needs to be fixed soon.

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

    Can't shine shit Artoo ...

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

we'll never know if our running game is any good if we continue to run twice per quarter. Running game takes time and commitment.

  • In reply to kenbill:

Oline sucks yeah but dont forget how bad Martz playcallin was. We were gettin blitzed and Martz doesnt try to adjust to any of it. We rush for 200 yrds last week and then this week cause Cutlers back Martz thinks he can just pass on every fuckin down, not just pass but the same passes over and over. No TE's today, No screens, No Playactions. NOTHING! I saw no passes over the middle. FUCK I HATE YOU MARTZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

You can't pass if you can't block, there were tightends out there. There was screens. You didn't watch the game man. Forte caught to screens. TE Brandon whoisyourmama, caught a pass and was in on some blocking plays, We ran one playaction that I can remember. The passes over the middle? Didn't Knox and Aromashodu catch both over the middle? He passed because the run game wasn't there. It went away after the first td and then Chester Taylor stayed amazingly up right and got us a first and more.

We had maybe two easy field goals for Gould till Jay got sacked.

Watch Webb, he sucked it up this game. Bad.

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

THere was like two screens, yea we ran enough then huh? One TE caught 1 pass? and how many are we paying? wow great. OH did you say we ran ONE playaction play, ahaha ONE PA play. ALSO TWO passes over the middle, well there should of been more.RUN game wasnt there because Martz wouldnt give it a chance to be there. Red zone we scored our only TD HOW? RUN PLAY! We passed all day and we didnt give the run a chance. Bullshit man, PLaycallin sucked so dont say it didnt. DID YOU WATCH THE GAME? CUtler and Martz were looking for the downfield pass every play, No short routes, no run game. Like you said though, Two passes down the middle, 2 screen passes, 1 TE pass, and 1 Playaction play should win us the game though RIGHT? CUtler had plenty of time out there to do something but he didnt.

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

Matt only had 8 carries for 11 yards.. the longest one was on the run for a touchdown. Then they started stopping the run putting us in 3rd and long everytime.

You said we didn't run any of them. We did run those plays you talked about and Only Martz and Cutler knows how many passes could have been completed if they could have blocked.

It's not Martz, its you Oline.

Yeah, Seattle had a great run and pass balance but that was because they could actually run it. HEll, when we got people in the backfield to stop the run, they would still get 5 or 10 yards on the run.

Face it. We lost because we have no oline. Tell me, if we blocked better do you think we would have abandoned the run so quickly?

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

I just think all around OFFENSE was bad. Cutler, RB, WR, OLINE, and The Coaches

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

    I agree to that Fresno.

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

Who do you blame for the 0 third conversions?

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

the fucking tackles. You have to. Watch all of the 3rd downs except for two or three.. They were all on the tackles.

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

come on dude really? yea they were bad but seriously dont blame the tackles for everything.

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

Our WR's cant catch a fcking cold while running in stride. Cutler cant make the right throw, Playcalling was horrible, and then the OLINE.

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

Dude, what happens when you give up 6 sacks? You lose rhythm and you can't get rhythm if you can block period.

I agree about our receivers too.

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

everyone. Like 20 failures in twenty attempts over the two games. That's on *everyone*.

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

We don't have a running game. We don't have a passing game because our o-line sucks.Period. Martz was also terrible. No slants, not enough screens, no adaptation. Failure by Martz Angelo and Smith for letting it happen.

  • In reply to kenbill:

The team needs to work on its short game. 3rd down conversions, goal lines, the running game in general. We need to see more short yardage ability.

That means we need a better O-line to push on the run and we need better route running recievers. Bennett is the best we have on that front, but we need someone with height (Olsen is fine but he's not a true reciever). The O-line... well lets just hope we see some good prospects in the draft. Still wouldn't mind trading Tommie for another tackle.

For now though it does fall to the coaches to change the game plan. We weren't blown out this week, we're still a playoff team. Martz needs to let the run game develop and stop showing off Jay's big arm. We're still #1 in the division boys. 10 more games to get sorted before the playoffs. Bear Down!

  • In reply to mottystone:

Every team needs a big guy that can pound the rock. We feel that apparently you don't. Big receiver, big RB/FB, there can be no substitutes - we're not the 80s Niners.

  • In reply to kenbill:

Well, at least I was wrong about Mike Williams.

    He DIDN'T score TD.

And the Bears held him to just 123 yards on 10 catches.

They cannot sustain this level of offensive line play and expect to be a playoff team.

Defense missed Briggs but they were, in the end, hung out to dry by the offense.

  • In reply to kenbill:

    I'll testify to that.

  • In reply to kenbill:

I gotta say guys... without us finding a real oline somewhere, we're in big trouble... as we knew we would be.

On a positive note, I don;t think Farve is going to make it out of this game alive.

  • In reply to kenbill:

who's on the phone calling Logan Mankins...?

  • In reply to FQD1911:

Butter + a 2nd rounder, and 35M with 15M guaranteed. That should do it.

  • In reply to gpldan:

You're hired. $8 million a year ok for you?

  • In reply to FQD1911:

This is Seattle's first road win outside their division since 2007.

    THAT is sooo Bears.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

Just imagine how many more road victories they would have if we were in their division.

  • In reply to FQD1911:

I have to say today im am disgusted. I am actually fustrated and tired with the Bears at this moment. Thier PRO's and they routinely play like this goin on the fourth or fifth season. CMON guys get it together. If we are not gonna run the ball then why are we paying Manumanuela and Taylor money? trade them for some Oline so we can pass the ball, cause We are a passing team now boys.

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

Good point. I am all for running the ball more but I don't get how we can run it when we can't even pass block, let alone run block.

  • In reply to FQD1911:

    Lets start at the top.

    1) Coaching/Offensive play calling was horrible. Martz never gave the short game any serious consideration and kept going for the long ball. Our blocking schemes were horrible and I saw DE"s sacking Jay on 3 occasions were they were able to hit Jay without being touched.

2)Cutler had waaay to many bad throws and it's his responsibility to make sure that defensive Ends lining up outside on the TE's are accounted for when our TE's are going out to run routes. It;s obvious to me that our tackles have absolutely no idea who they are supposed to block. I'm starting to wish we had Kyle Orton and Ron Turners playbook back with this Defense.

3)Defense-It's a long season and they are already starting to get winded because our O stinks at converting on 3rd downs. They played well enough for us to have a chance win today if the Offense had of put together at least 2 sustained touch down drives and acted like they knew what they were doing. The Bears could have one this game with a short passing game and a healthy mix of run plays.

    Remedy
Forget about the 7 step drops, incorporate a mix of screens, draws, roll outs with a 50/50 run/pass mix no matter what the down and distance is and protect Cutler enough for him to make it through the year so the next coaching staff can utilize him. If I were Lovie, I would call Martz into his office and tell him that the next performance like today's will be his last.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Isn't it Kreutz 'the QB of the line' whose job it is on the Bears to look after that? So if he can't even do that, then bench his old ass.

And I'm all over that remedy Trac. Not enough roll-outs to take advantage of a very good aspect of Cutler's game. We do well on screens and there *must* be more balance. I'm sorry, but MArtz must be *stupid* if he thinks he can get away with 2/3 passes.

  • In reply to FQD1911:

Orton just threw another touchdown pass against the Jets. Yes boys, we can't complete a pass against the Seahawks and Orton looks like Johnny Unitas playing for the Bronco's. We got stiffed in the trade with the Bronco's. They should have given us 2 #1's.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

What division are they in? Ohh, the AFC west, that's right.

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

    ?

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

Assuming this year a 10-6 record will get you into the playoffs, after today and looking at the rest of the schedule, I'm having a hard time envisioning six more wins...

  • In reply to tobijohn:

Not only that, how many teams won the Super Bowl with an anemic line like we have? It can't be done.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

No it can't. And despite the poor offensive performance, they still might have won if whoever hadn't held on Manning's return. Why do guys do that? For God's sake, tape your fingers together or wear oven mitts...

  • In reply to tobijohn:

Even the commentators couldn't see the mysterious holding call on that return.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

    Rod Wilson.

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

Yes, I know that's who it was called on but I have yet to see an actual foul worthy of being flagged.

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

That was a huge letdown. We need to captilize on all winnable games at this point. Huge let down.

That one is going to come back to bite us in the ass. Everyone seemed like they didnt take that game seriously. INCLUDING the fans. That was pathetic. No home field advantage yesterday. They better take it up a notch for the Skins game. I was embarrasseed all around yesterday.

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

I agree with the new bear. People here do overreact. And I'm not somebody who just drops in to criticize, this is my 2nd season here and I post regularly so I feel I get to say this:

    Calm the fuck down.

Another players coach (the team loves him), is going to get the stick before Love dove does.

    http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/dn/latestnews/stories/101810dnspotaylorcol_hp.1a0c66b7d.html

At this stage, just keep the O line we have. Let's work on mental things, nothing is going to materially change physically anymore. This is our ship, we sail or sink.

But let's not get nuts. This is a 9-7 team.

  • In reply to gpldan:

    + 1-fing-bajillion.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

GP, dude, they suck! S.U.C.K When you convert 7 for 43 on 3rd down, or whatever that number is exactly, you are a shitty team. 9-7 really? And where do you see 5 more wins on our schedule?? We just lost to the Seahawks at HOME! WE SUCK!

  • In reply to gpldan:

Maybe. But it should not be so trivial for other teams to figure out our offense.

Years ago, and for perhaps too long running, I complained that the Bears coaching staff does not appear to know how to get the best out of the players it has. And despite a giant shake-up over this past offseason, that does not seem to have materially changed.

Hopefully, it is that one offseason, four pretend games, and six real game is simply not enough time. Let's hope so - the coaching staff needs to do better I think.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

The Bears really broke my heart today. I couldnt believe what i was seeing. Stubborn playcalling is what killed us the most.

  • In reply to tobijohn:

If they played like they did today, shit man I envision Lovie and Martz being fired. Which IM HOPING!

  • In reply to tobijohn:

Why is it that Bears dont audible at the line. Jay lines up recognizes that the blitz is coming and NEVER directs where the blocking should go. Or even audible to a different play with a check down. SOMETHING... You see the great QB's do it all the time... The ShitHawks defense guess right 98% of the time today. This shit is getting old. We dont execute, the receivers look lost and nobody adapts to nothing... We are an optical illusion... We are not a good football team.

  • In reply to underway:

FACT! there is no audibles in Martz offense.

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

That is my understanding as well.

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

that is part of the problem... or even if no Audible Jay has to do better at recognizing the defense and making blocking/route adjustments at the line(but I guess that would be an audible) ~sigh For the record my sons Middleweight team (11/12 year olds) have audibles..

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

I don't think the wheels are coming off. There was just a lack of energy and sharpness by the O for 2/3 of the game. Guys were running bad routes, lining up in the wrong spots, etc, which resulted in Jay having to burn timeouts early in both halves. Obviously Martz shoulders a huge part of the load in not adjusting to the telegraphed safety blitzes but there seemed to be a huge lack of focus, particularly by the receivers, and Jay took some bad coverage sacks.
I mean, as pissed as I am that they threw away a chance at building the division lead by a game against the ShitHawks, they still had a shot at winning a game that was well out of hand for three quarters. The game against Washington, however, now takes on a lot more importance. Hope Briggsy is up and at em by then and the timing of the O is back on track.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

But we're saying this about crappy teams. The wheels were never *on*. We never looked sharp this year. We are exactly the team we've been bitching about all off-season. No o-line - no safeties - no receivers - no power runners - no coaching. This is who we are. We are going to get our asses handed to us when we start playing good teams.

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

Irish, we are 4-2, and 2-0 in the division. I'll start freaking out when we're no longer in control of our own destiny.
The Bears are a better team than Seattle, top to bottom, but they had absolutely no energy after that opening drive. Sometimes it's just not your Sunday - I don't think that makes us Cleveland all of a sudden.

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

3 for 40 on 3rd conversions the last three games !!? Sorry. Martz. Door. Now.

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

Amidst all the anger and hurt and frustration, hats off to Devin Hester for tying Brian Mitchell's TD return record on 262 returns against Mitchell's 1070. You are indeed ridiculous Mr. Hester.

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

He needs to return kicks too. I'm OK with Aromashadu taking a few extra snaps if Hester needs a breather.

  • In reply to Church:

Let alone the fact that is it idiotic to put a DB when he has just played a series on defense (typically a LONG series since the other team scored a TD) instead of using fresh legs.

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

You know I sit here in Japan and have to wait till 2am to watch the Bears on gamepass. I anticipate such a great opportunity to pad our record to say 7-1, 6-2, maybe even 8-1 or 8-2 seeing as how we squeaked by the couple games we did.

What have the Bears done the best this year? Well the D line has provided slightly more pressure thanks to a fresh and healthy BU, Briggs and Peppers, just enough to make the DB

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

PS We really needed that Daniel Manning return, the positive spin about losing this game though is it puts the pressure on the coaches to fix this stuff, had they won, they would just act like "yes we know we are a good team, blah blah blah. I 100% invite the criticism, the shedding light on all these glaring problems we talk about each week, but seemingly go ignored by the coaches in their game plans and tactics. WTF man! We want results. It is fine to see a team play hard and if you lose ok, you played hard, i hate to see a team just keep losing to themselves. for instance, I would hate to be a packers fan having lost that 18 penalty game to us. Tnat would have been way more depressing than losing to Seattle, at least Seattle had a bye week to prepare and game plan for us regardless that they have always been a bad road team. I wonder what the stat is on bad road teams that play on the road after a bye. Everybody has to admit that Mike Williams and Lynchmob played a damn good game (or did our D play a damn bad game, probably a little bit of both) then you wonder if a guy that plays as well as Mike Williams played today, why wasnt he in Chicago playing for us, he could bring his 6'5 ass here to be andre the giant to our smurf receivers. just another example of another team finding talent that our team has overlooked.

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

We're complaining about the offense missing assignments and running incorrect routes and you want to start using audibles?

  • In reply to mottystone:

Agreed - we didn't need audibles, we needed guys running the right routes.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

    We need a fucking roster.

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

    plus one Irish.

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

While we're wishing for ponies and butterscotch shoelaces...you want to turn the whole roster over now? Yeah, forget our linebackers, forget Pep and Izzy, forget Cutler, Ridiculous, Knox, Tillman and the rest. Jeeesus.

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

The 2010 Chicago Bears are horrible. When the only bright spot on your team is the Special Teams, you are a bad team.

O-line is horrible--Retarded QB--RB's can't break tackles and fall down on first hit--TE's are inconsistant--WR's are small and dumb--CB's are slow--Safteys can't tackle/always out of position--LB's are good when healthy--D-line sucks asshole/Peppers had ZERO impact against a ROOKIE yesterday--Coaches and General Manager are assclowns.

    WE.SUCK.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qwq7BYOnDrM

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

I am calling it. One of our tightends goes to San Diego. We get a pick, guard, or left tackle. Maybe all three lol

  • In reply to mottystone:

audibles to change the look at the line. Give Jay the ability to change the game from what he sees at the line. Whistle over to the slot receiver or te that "hey see that safety that is about to blitz instead of cover you! quick slant route please. 3 step drop and the ball is coming your way" That type of communication needs to happen. That is all on the QB... But i just dont see the communication between Jay and his receivers. Or the lineman "hey Left Tackle... there is the chance that the safety that just stepped up to the line is going to blitz. Keep him off my ass as I dont have eyes in the back of my head." That type of stuff. Its a very simple concept. Predetermine your assignments and try like hell to make sure that every one is accounted for. IF NOT... Throw the damn ball to the side the blitz is coming from. Somebody has to be open.

  • In reply to underway:

As I understand the Martz offense... the QB's ability to combat the blitz is built into the play so that there is no audible there is simply "okay, there's a blitz coming behind me so I need to roll out and throw to the RB who's supposed to step accross the line when no blitz comes on his side." The theory, as I understand it, is that Martz's prefabbed contingency plans are better than an on the field audible.

Peyton Manning would hate playing for Martz, the guy is like an offensive coordinator under center. But Cutler is still young and he seems to really believe in Martz. He just doesn't believe in the recievers.

The key thing you said is that the QB needs to throw the ball whether or not the guy is looking. If he's not looking, he won't make the same mistake again. If he is, you have a play. But you are right, he has to commit to his throws much faster.

  • In reply to mottystone:

You have it or you don't. Jimmy Mac was calling audibles in college - there's a reason Ditka called him the smartest player he coached. He was better than the OCs.

  • In reply to underway:

I'm starting to wonder if the problem isn't the play calling from the coaches, its the actual coaching. Say Martz has the dump offs written into the plays and Cutty isn't throwing them? Or Olsen and Bennett and company aren't running them? That's definitely a coaching issue, but who is responsible for getting the guys to execute? What can we change to make the Bears play smarter?

One possibility is consistency. We have one or two too many WRs competing for a starting job. We have all kinds of trouble on the line. We have running backs who don't get enough touches to build a rhythm in the game. Maybe the coaching mistake is doing too much? This is a popular criticism of Martz and it might be the problem now.

Maybe we need to stick with a smaler play book and a more consistent line-up to give the guys a better rhythm. We've got two more games to get it together before it gets a lot tougher. We sure don't stand a chance of scoring more than 10 against the Jets the way we are playing now.

  • In reply to mottystone:

What can we change to make the Bears play smarter?
    > Hire smarter Bears. I've been singing from the rooftops that our receivers are dumb as rocks. Martz is teaching chess to the short bus riders and expecting a bunch of Gary Kasparovs. Repeating that over and over but expecting different results is the definition of ...?

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

Well that would be the idea of adding audibles, you're asking the QB to be that much smarter.

We need smart soldiers, not generals. They have to be aware of their surroundings, they have to understand how to execute a complicated plan, but they don't need to be play callers.

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

I'm calling a 10-6 (back up plan 9-7)season because we will see a different Bears team every week yet we still win the Division.

    Wins:

    Was
    Buf
    Min (home)
    Det
    NYJ (shock the world)
GB (last game of the season, might not play starters though...)

    Losses

    Mia
    NE
    Phy
    Min (away)

  • In reply to shonbear:

I just wish I could share in your enthusiasm ShonBear, but after what we saw AGAIN today says to me we have a long drop off a cliff if we don't get this offense in order. I'm no expert at football but from a layman's point of view we looked like shit out there. I could see the blitz's coming and there was little to no adjustments to cover them. Cutler isn't going to last long if this doesn't get taken care of real soon. I put this loss entirely on the offense for not helping to keep the defense off the field. Same ole crap.

  • In reply to shonbear:

I honestly could not put money on another win. No t saying we won't, just wouldn't put the cash money on it. It would not even be a sure bet to beat the Bills. I would have full confidence in Ryan Fitzpatrick being able to throw the ball against us at will, because anybody *can*. Pringles could be back - and lord knows we need him. I know Hitman Harris is the darling of the board, but he is lost in space in the coverage game nonetheless. We can't pass block, can't run block. Can't rush the passer. Can't stop the run, can't stop the pass - certainly ours - just rush three and we're in the shit. Rush four and it's all over. The Buffalo Bills *can* stop the pass (they're #10 in the NFL. They're not able to stop the run however - stone last in the league. How do we beat the Buffalo Bills? Run it Sir. But that eats up the clock and they could beat us with the pass. That might be *one* victory for us.

  • In reply to shonbear:

By the way, after listening to Deion Sanders whine about why he wasn't higher in the NFL's top 100 (shouldn't be 7 spots ahead of Rod Woodson in any case) .. I'm sitting there thinking ... dude! ... he looks like a Ferengi !!

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

    +5 ST:TNG drop

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

Honestly, I'm not sure he belongs there at all.

  • In reply to mottystone:

And how can we expect our line to gel if we're changing it every week?

  • In reply to mottystone:

"We have a third down package and we're not executing it," Cutler said.

    Bin it.

  • In reply to mottystone:

Did Josh McDaniels offload Cutler because he can't read defenses and make hot reads? Did he want Orton because he can? Peyton Manning dares defenses to rush him, he lives for that shit.

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

Irish, they wanted Cassel not Orton in the beginning, and I am positive, when he doesn't have a concussion, Jay can make the smart throw. He went to Vandy.

Orton can throw, but come on, Does everyone really want Orton back? Do you really think he would do better here than Jay is? The man has been sacked 23 times in only 5 games. We have played 6 so far!

I am staying on the Oline sucks bandwagon will we have a game where Jay doesn't get sacked more than twice. Then I will blame Jay Cutler. Till then, look at the oline to lose more games for us.

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

Many sacks are caused by indecisive QBs

  • In reply to underway:

LEts not forget the poor tackling by our Defense! Charles Tillman fuckin pissed me off all day. He was getting owned by Williams.

  • In reply to mottystone:

    Yes.

  • In reply to mottystone:

I realize when we watch on tv, we can see things that can't be seen on the field. I played HS ball, which isn't saying much I know, but I know the field perspective.

But how do OMG and Webb not see the outside blitz? Do the Bears put blinders on these guys?

Cutler's body language betrayed him again. Keep him away from Vegas, if the Bears don't kill him, the sharks there will. He telegraphs every emotion. I give him credit for running as well as he did, but his mechanics suck. Every time he set his foot and held the ball I yelled 'NO! at the tv.

Jay has to throw the ball when he sets, every time. He cannot pull the ball down. He needs to make snap decisions every time and throw. If nobody is open, rocket the ball over the guy's head and out of bounds to send the message, but throw it away.

Warner and Kitna, esp. Warner - he got back there and he threw. Sometimes it was there, sometime in the dirt, but this sack shit is nuts. I'm not sure Cutler's brain is working 100% still. He does not look confident in his wideouts being there, and by game 6 - he simply must trust them.

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

And yeah, fuck Omiyale for giving up that safety. That, in the end, could have been the difference.

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

can the bears balance the run plays and passing plays please? why did they even pick up chester taylor if he isnt used much. but at least they are still leading in the division.

  • In reply to Bounce:

I agree. OR Atleast if we are going to become a passing team. Lets run efficient routes that fit the situation. The plays coming in from the sideline are stale by the time we line up, We are so stuck to running exactly what comes in that if the defense guesses right(tonight that happen alot) it a no win situation for the play. No way you go 0-10 on 3rd down and expect to win. But this is becoming a trend.

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

Look at the teams he's played against 85. Much better than who we've played. Oh and he had a monster day against the Seahawks when the Bronco's beat them 31-14.

    http://espn.go.com/nfl/recap?gameId=300919007

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    Bullshit trac.

    Jax 29 against the pass
    Ten 26 against the pass
    Seattle 21 against the pass

Kyle has thrown for 9 touchdowns and 3 picks
Jay has only played five games and has 6 and 3 picks

Kyle has only be sacked more than once in two games so far. So four games he only got sacked just one time.

Jay has been sack for 23 times so far total. Kyle has only be sacked for 13 total.

Each game that has over 4 sacks that we have had so far, Jay can't get a touchdown, but when we keep it under 4 he gets 1,2, or 3 touchdowns.

Kyle is only putting up those numbers because he can stand up and do it.

Jay is still the better quarterback.

Don't believe me? Why did they Draft one in the first round this year? Ohh.. yeah, cause Orton is that good.

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

Oh, and they are 2-4. Oh and that Seahawk game where Orton put up those 2 tds and 300 yards?

Guess how many sacks they gave up in that game.. 1.

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

Son, you're missing the point. Wake-up and take Jays digit out of your mouth.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

You have Orton is yours!! lol Come on, tell me why they draft Tim Tewbow in the first round if Kyle Orton is that good?

Give me one game where Cutler doesn't get sacked more than twice. Then I will give in and say that Jay sucks and Orton is better.

How can you expect him to make plays when sacked 23 times in only 5 games? His last two games he has been sacked 15 times.

    http://www.nfl.com/stats/categorystats?archive=false&role=TM&offensiveStatisticCategory=OFFENSIVE_LINE&tabSeq=2&qualified=true

Take a guess..which team has gave up the most qb hits and sacks.. Then look at Orton's.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    http://www.nfl.com/stats/categorystats?archive=false&role=TM&offensiveStatisticCategory=OFFENSIVE_LINE&tabSeq=2&qualified=true

In case anyone wants to know. Guess which team in the league has the last ranked offensive line.

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

The worst O line in football nets you the worst 3rd down conversion rate in football.

Tice, nice, lice, rice, vanilla ice, mice, vice whatever, this scheme sucks.

  • In reply to gpldan:

45 qb hits.. how much does that factor in?

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

It looks like the teams are first ranked by sack totals, and then by some of the running game stats. At 27, we are 7 sacks ahead of the next worst team (the Eagles). At 45, we are 6 QB hits ahead of the second worst team (the 49rs). Its no wonder Jay is playing scared.

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

Howie Long opened up his Franken-head and said that he still thinks Minnesota can win the Super Bowl.

After seeing the Bears yesterday, it's hard to disagree.

The only takeaway from yesterday's football is that no Cheesedicks will come a-trollin' round here, cause they lost at Lambeau to the fish, which is equally ridiculous to us letting the Seahawks look like a playoff team.

  • In reply to gpldan:

If Minny wins both its games against the Bears, then our current 2 game lead is meaningless. We'd be even with the Vikes again and would be behind a tie-breaker as well.

  • In reply to mottystone:

Bullshit - a two game divisional lead is not meaningless in any context.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Nah, he's got no arm. Need an arm.

  • In reply to FQD1911:

    Not Jerry fucking Angelo.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

ITS OFFICIAL. OUR CHICAGO BEARS SUCKED AGAIN TODAY. I FEEL LIKE SWEARING.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

And there you go. Hester does his ridiculous thing but we've got another smurf at kicker....

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

..and yes, I just missed that. Fuck.

Doens't change the above sadly. Feast or famine. Big plays alone don't get you to the show.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Feels like too little too late.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Earl Bennett layed out a hell of a block on the kicker.

  • In reply to johnkos:

Don't know why I think it, but I think they are going to pull something out of their asses this game. I guess we will see.

  • In reply to johnkos:

Anyone think Seattle's win had anything to do with having a big powerful running back, a well drafted line and a 6'5 receiver ?

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

    Me.

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

    Whoops - Bears 20...Seahawks 23 --- Fuck me...

I having another beer and going to Bears Post Game --- then if possible the Cowherders will defeat the Viskings...

  • In reply to johnkos:

Packers are losing by 7 with 5:20 to go in the 4th - interesting.

  • In reply to johnkos:

Wow, if Forsett would have gotten that 1st down, I think the fans would have charged the field. Holy crap...

  • In reply to johnkos:

Martz is a disaster. And Cutler should have sat out another game it seems.

  • In reply to Mastodon:

Agree with that! Hubby and I will be at the field for the first time next Sunday, and I hope it looks way better than this.

  • In reply to Mastodon:

Cutler has happy feet. Who can blame him. Martz has to start calling plays that don't allow for Cutler to hold onto the ball.

  • In reply to Mastodon:

0/10 on third down is pitiful.

  • In reply to Mastodon:

could Maynard punt like more of a pussy today?

  • In reply to Mastodon:

    Nice Bennett, 0-10.

  • In reply to Mastodon:

    No turnovers yet. It's time.

  • In reply to Mastodon:

This is really frikkin' sad, really sad. I turned it off. Martz didn't adjust shit and Cutler is paying for it.

  • In reply to Mastodon:

    Go for it BASTARDS!!!!!

  • In reply to johnkos:

The receivers are not getting open at this point either.

  • In reply to johnkos:

    where's golden boy today?

  • In reply to pizzatime7:

    By the way...

    FUCK

  • In reply to pizzatime7:

Holy shit, another non-conversion....holy crap this is bad.

  • In reply to pizzatime7:

Awesome. Game over. I'm out boys. Martz is turning into who we knew he was. He looked like our savior... but... Oh well. Until we get a real oline, we are going to have a tough time doing anything.

  • In reply to EVILteddie:

we're letting mike williams tear us up today.

  • In reply to EVILteddie:

Sure glad I'm not seeing this. Sure sounds like Martz is getting totally outcoached - again.

  • In reply to Mastodon:

Kinda looks like he's doing whatever the fuck he wants no matter what is actually happening on the field.

  • In reply to Mastodon:

words for thought.... LETS GO FINS! LETS GO COWBOYS!!!!!

  • In reply to Mastodon:

Hassleback is doing what he has always done against the Bears, quick passes. It's a killer against the soft cover 2.

  • In reply to Mastodon:

    we suck.

  • In reply to Mastodon:

Martz is becoming almost as predictable as Ron Turner. At least to other teams. It is almost trivial for other teams to stop us.

  • In reply to EVILteddie:

yeah, someone might want to cover that guy. Fuck man.

  • In reply to EVILteddie:

It's all a product of Martz refusing to commit to some sort of a running game. Teams know exactly what the Bears are going to do on 3rd down.

  • In reply to EVILteddie:

I still don't get how we hardly get any preassure man. really frustrating.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

I guess the Bears don't know what a quick slant or out pattern is. Or even a screen. Martz is starting to piss me off.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

This would be a good time for the offense to get their collective shit together.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

At least TRY to run the ball. Forte is one of our best weapons.

  • In reply to TheFifth:

We can't run it. Don't know why anyone thought we would. Carolina have a crap run defense - the Hawks are #2. Can't run it, can't pass it. Can't win it.

  • In reply to EVILteddie:

Can someone tell me what the Chris Williams move has done for productivity?

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    NEED A TURNOVER.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

I'm starting a Martz-is-a-douchebag bandwagon. Anyone jumping on?

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

The playbook for this team is wrong. Flat out.

Put Olsen in at FB, he'll at least hit the hole and let's run.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

The Omiyale-is-a-douche bandwagon still has plenty of seats avilable. That was a great safety Frank. Thanks.

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

I would like a gold ticket please.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Believe it or not the Bears got incredibly lucky with only giving up a safety there. How Jay Cutler ended up with that ball is a miracle.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    turnover time baby!

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Harris is really bringing the wood today.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Fucking Lovie... is all piss and vinager when he shouldn't be and a pussy when he should. Common man. Clock management 101.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    RUN THE FUCKIN BALL!!!!!!

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Needless to say this is a huge series inside the redzone.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Dude, what's going on with our run d man? Briggsy really that much of an anchor. Scary a bit.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    What the fuck man?!?!?

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    Picking us apart.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Time for a turnover of defensive stop.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Bears are not going to win this game, they look pathetic.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Hold it together guys. We will turn it around. Suck it up.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

4th down. Thats exactly what I'm talking about.

  • In reply to reprisal:

    Knox. You pussy.

    DIVE!

  • In reply to reprisal:

100% willie... he could have had that.

  • In reply to reprisal:

What's Martz smoking? Call the screens and slants dude, we haven't got the line for these chess moves downfield ....

  • In reply to MB30SD:

I think I've seen that guys face on the side of a milk carton these days. What's his name? Shabadabba doo?

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    FML
