  • Wangpoon!!

  • In reply to mikemuadib:

At least we can't lose this week. Hopefully a bunch of decent NFC teams will.

  • In reply to mikemuadib:

    Rev's rant FTW yet again.

  • In reply to mikemuadib:

Cowboys. Kitna will show that he can throw the rock. People will question Romo's abilities more after Kitna finally gets the O going.
Saints. Brees had his worst gamer ever last week. I know he is dying to redeem himself.
Jets. I think Rogers gets taken out for good.

  • In reply to mikemuadib:

    Lions
    Bengals
    and ... Broncos.. O MY

  • In reply to mikemuadib:

    Jets, Raiders, Pats.

  • In reply to mikemuadib:

    Lions Rams Chargers

  • In reply to mikemuadib:

Is it possible we can fall into the "L" column this weekend? With LDL as our fearless leader......maybe he can throw out a challenge flag! and it will cost us a game.

  • In reply to mikemuadib:

o btw Iknow it is a bye...it's just me sarcastic..hhhhhhhheeeeeee

  • In reply to nicholsra:

    Lobo? Sarcastic? Nah!

  • In reply to nicholsra:

What do you bet Narcissus ignores his bum ankle just long enough to keep his precious "Starts Streak" alive this weekend?

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

    100% Al...

...and for his efforts, I just hope that a Mr. Bart Scott or a Sione Pouha, or maybe even a shaun ellis puts that Scumbag out of the game forever. Do us all a favor won't you gents?

Sidenote: As I was looking up names of Jets starters, I happened to notice their 3rd string DE... a one Jarron Gilbert.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Speaking peaking of former Bears, and just in case it wasn't previously noted on the blog, the Panthers placed Jamar Williams on I.R. this week.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Top billing, and very deservedly so: http://sports.yahoo.com/

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    Here's the exerpt:

  • In reply to MB30SD:

btw, not that is means jack shit, but the only place this dude has Cowher going is to the Queens.

Please god no. I would be incredibly pissed off if the McCaskey's let him go to the Queens because of Price... which means that the McCaskey's will let him go to the Queens because of Price.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

The good news is the Queens renewed Chilly last year for 4 more years (3 after this year). That's a lot of dough to eat. I'm guessing we won't do anything until the agreement between the owners and players is in place. If it isn't in place soon enough I'm guessing we get Lovie and JA for another year (Lovie's last contract year). I have no idea what JA makes but I'm guessing it's around $1 mil/year. Not too much to eat to get rid of that jackoff.

Nothing against any ex-Bears coming home but I want the next HC to be an offensive coach (not Martz).

  • In reply to MB30SD:

When are their contracts up? Isn't Angelo here until 2013? No way Ginny forks up $20 million plus to get get rid of him. My $0.02.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Although I wish I had pipes like this:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sumiU0u2J9s

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Leslie Frazier? Ohhh, no. He was on the 1985 Bears and we certainly don't want any of THOSE folks around Halas Hall.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Regarding this week's edition of "The Saturday Show", Blogfather, did you HAVE to subject us to that barrage of "Lowlights" from last Sunday? Also, my choice from "The Boss" would be GLORY DAYS.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

'Born to run' best football tune ever ...

    JETS -5.5
    RAIDERS -2.5
    Steelers -1

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

Sounds like we need #16 to tie up Martz and play that sung over and over and over until he is brainwashed. A Clockwork Orange style.

  • In reply to mikemuadib:

    *song

  • In reply to mikemuadib:

    My Bye week picks:

    Houston +5.5 at Indy.
    - I think Dallas Clark IS a big loss, especially on top of Austin Collie going down too.

Miami +2.5 at Cincy. -Something ain't right with Mr. Palmer.

    Chiefs -8 vs Buffalo.
Buffalo really gave Baltimore a tussle. Don't like to lay the 8 but I think the Bills have to let down after the big effort against the ravens and the Chefs have the running game that can make them pay for that let down gear with the 1-2 punch of Jamaal Charles and Thomas Jones. Hmmm, Thomas Jones, Where have we heard THAT name before?

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

And the third-worst offense in the league? And the worst third-down offense by a lot and given up the most sacks and most interceptions in the NFL? And the second-worst red zone offense?

So sayeth Rosenblog the Why do I read thee?

    http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-films-presents/09000d5d81ba2b89/Singletary-s-journey-from-player-to-coach

Watching this towards the end (just before 9 min) they mention that the only HOFer to coach a team to a SB win was Ditka. Singletary mentions that Ditka had a vision, he knew what a team should look like. That's what I've always felt we needed. Sabol points out to Singletary that he interviewed Lombardi and he said that to be a great coach you have to be one half teacher and one half sonofabitch (at which point Singletary shoots himself in the foot but you get my point). Lovie is neither teacher nor is he tough.

We don't need a HOFer, but we need someone who knows what a SB team looks like. Ditka was a Bear, so he cared that much more. Rivera doesn't have it. It might be time to welcome Leslie back home though. I think he's waited so long and refused other jobs because he wants to come home too.

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

irish..and that is why I call him Limp Dick Lovie-LDL

not sure if any of the 85's could put up with the McCheapskys..knowing what the players know of them as owners.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

    Jeff...what's the leaderboard looking like?

  • In reply to FQD1911:

    Leaderboard coming out this week.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

Who posted that shit about ellen last thread... I have to admit some of that shit made me laugh: http://ellen.warnerbros.com/2010/10/ellens_scary_halloween_1029.php?icid=ellen|ws&icid=main%7Cmain%7Cdl2%7Csec1_lnk1%7C180948

Yeah, I know it's not football, it's a fucking bye week and I'm going crazy.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

I'll fully stand behind my DeGeneres knock, MB. The bitch ain't funny. I can't think of any American comediennes that are, truth be told.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

YOU WANT SOME BOSS - CHECK THIS OUT: I saw the Boss @ Soldier Field in 1985. Amazing.

  • Doc...I know it great to hear the homie's JJ & TT WBBM during the game but yeah they have the score too!!!

In the morning's try to either score/Wbbm drives the kids crazy because they hear about traffic and all they see when the look out by our house is the mountain and maybe a jackknifed burro...

  • Welcome to da club Doc. You'll get some great analysis there. Lawrence Holmes has a great beat on the Bears and so does Zach Zaidman even though he is a total nerd. Boers and Bernstein have good insight sometimes. Buffone goes balistic after losses, which is sometimes the only entertainment after games.

  • In reply to Crowned:

Why didn't you just ask me Doc? You can not, however, get JJ & TT during games during regular season anymore without paying the NFL.

  • In reply to JeffHughes:

Wait, are you sure about that? I haven't tuned in gameday much this year, but I caught the tail end of one broadcast 3 or 4 weeks ago.

I remember a 2 or 3 years back they fiddled around with the gameday stream to make it harder to find, but it hadn't gotten pulled AFAIK...

    http://player.play.it/player/player.html?v=4.6.27&id=93&onestat=wbbm-am

  • In reply to JeffHughes:

I don't pay the NFL and I get em just fine. If it's a regional blackout then just run Ultrasurf.

  • In reply to JeffHughes:

blogfather..Ibeg to differ I get it everygame..streaming on wbbm

  • In reply to JeffHughes:

blogfathet that's not ture I get them everygame

  • The Score is the best station. Jeff Joniak and Thayer do radio broadcast of games. Joniak's call is electric on Hester returns. Thayer obviously knows his Xs and Os regarding blocking and o-line play.

  • The score is the best sports talk in town. At least they keep it real for the most part...B&B are hilarious, but can get on your nerves sometimes...Lawrence Holmes has the best show from 6-10pm...

  • DOC are u serious? 670thescore is the best bra. Def gotta listen after the games. Doug Buffone is great!

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

    Doc,
I also like 670 the Score the best. They have podcasts for all the main shows, which is nice. Just wait an hour or two after the shows and podcast. Then you don't have to listen to any commercials. Doug and OB's post-game show is funny. My favorite is Mully and Hanley, because they spend most of the time actually talking sports. Some of the other shows, aside from the interviews, spend too much time on their egos and other shit.

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

    Chiefs, Bucs, Pats.

  • Who's Mr. Third place? The Raiders aren't a very good football team ?? They almost put up 60 points on the Broncos last week!! 38 points in the first half - that's not good ?!

  • Doesn't work whenever I tried it, always out of sync - just like you shouldn't have the Nfl.com scores page open while listening to Joniak's delayed coverage. Nothing worse than listening to the game and everything's fine then you see that the other team has just scored on Nfl.com.

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

guys it is about a 35-45 second delay

  • Doc...just put the homies on wbbm during the game and it will be fine, I tried it with that and the NFL game day redzone(Dish-network)and saw a 35-45 sec delay from the t.v to to computer(wbbm) so I just kept Wbbm streaming on and it all good!

  • The former British show Coupling is also fantastic. It's on demand on Netflix. It's like Friends but all about sex.

  • Are we really 5 of our last 50 on 3rd downs?

  • In reply to mikemuadib:

Add 0 for 10 from the 1 yard line. Welcome to Martzfense.

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

That stat is actually worse I'm pretty sure.

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

    Bills +8
    Panthers +3.5
    Dolphins +2.5

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

    Patriots
    Raiders
    Lions

  • In reply to mikemuadib:

    Bills
    Bucks
    Steelers
I think my chances are better this week. I didn't have to pick the Bears. Buffalo may not get within 8, but I am hoping the look good again. This could make the bears underdogs.

  • In reply to Church:

    ~hoping they look good~

  • In reply to mikemuadib:

Dennis McKinnon made a few good points on Boers and Bernstein.

    * Why did Cutler pull up and not try to tackle Hall on his TD?

    * Cutler is reluctant to use his feet to buy time, probably due to the amount of punishment he's taking.

    * Knox and Hester cannot run routes. Just nice to hear an actual NFL WR say that so that we're not just a bunch of angry fans bitching

    * Agree with this ... Cutler 'not being allowed to audible' is a bunch of crap. He just can't read defenses. Lost 8 of 9 of his last games with the Broncos with the ball in his hand in the fourth quarter.

    * Why wasn't Cutler throwing a hissy fit down on the field calling for that challenge?

The worst crime of all is wasted talent. JC guilty as charged.

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

Nice "A Bronx Tale" reference, Irish.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

I love the Crap Game scene in Bronx Tale.

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

Not only a real NFL WR but my all-time favorite Bears WR. He would make all the tough catches over the middle and knock DB's on their ass when he was asked to block. Of course, he got hurt and his career ended way too quickly.

  • In reply to CanadaBear:

I forgot does his son still play for the Colt's? I think I remember that during the SB, and they interviewed McKinnon and asked him about his loyalties his bears or his sons Colts. If correct like any Dad I think he went with his boy.

  • In reply to CanadaBear:

    Wash +2 1/2
    Rams -3 1/2
    Pats -5

Go Bears...Oh wait we have a bye....well, at least we wont lose.

  • In reply to CanadaBear:

Hopefully the Bears are "resting comfortably" this weekend.

Make a list of those Bears that should NOT be resting.

Make a list of those in the Bears organization that might avoid somewhat the nightclubs and excessive amounts of vodka, whiskey and gin thereby killing too many brain cells.

    Happy Halloween

  • In reply to CanadaBear:

Irish, I am with you. As I've been saying for a long time, I think Jimmy Harbaugh would be a very fresh face with fresh ideas and aggressive strategies that turned Stanford from a world class geekery into a football threat. Yes I know the NFL is different, but that's the point... not the standard, same good 'ol boy network. I'd love to see what he could do with us.

Then get Chico for the D. San Diego has one of the league

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Two ex Bears. Yeah, I'd be happy with that.

  • In reply to Church:

Oh, we can't have any Bears' Alumni running around here.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

Al agree 100%......... posted this earlier..no way will the McFU#@!%$!@#%KY's every allow a previous bear to a HC again for us..look what the did when Samuri was asking to begin coaching. Not sure if that was DIJAGOFF or McFu$%@%$#sky's who never even let him send his resume. Best thing to happen to the bears would be that that family tree would get syphilis and go Capone like..hhhhheeeeehhhhhhheeeee

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

    From the Spin(DABears) Site:

    http://www.chicagobears.com/news/NewsStory.asp?story_id=7237

On a scorching day in Chicago, coordinator Buddy Ryan lit a fire under his defense at halftime.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

I just feel like the organization is wasting Cutlers talent. Bad coaching at its best. Sit back and watch the Fire burn more and more. FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
