  • Up a day early and featuring commentary from me. Give the show a listen this week. It has theme songs and it's fun as hell.

  • In reply to JeffHughes:

It would be great if you could post what everyone's overall record is so far. I've lost trac.....yuk yuk

  • The early bird.

I think it's all been said... the bottom line is that we need to win this game. More for our psyche than anything 'real'.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

As long as the game is competitive and I never see another game like I did last week, I'll consider it progress.

  • Trac, did you say you wanted a fast QB? Can we draft college freshsmen?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7gPe211xAh4

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Wow MB, that cat can fly. Amazing 0-60 speed. Very impressive.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    Jets -4
    Texans -3
    Cowboys -6.5

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    Jets
    Colts
    Saints

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Liked your diatribe Jeffy. Yes in the scheme of things, 4-1 will be all that matters no matter how we win this weekend. To be frank though, Collins looked like crap last Sunday. If you want to talk about QB controversies, Hanie vs Collins should be the subject matter, not Cutler vs Orton. Can't get over bringing in a stone skeleton to backup Jay. If we lose this game then it means that we lost it when we signed Collins. We shall see what happens Sunday.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

I have one very important question. Why would Brett Favre go flaccid dong shot?

  • In reply to Coxy:

Because he's a show-er and not a grow-er. Unless you're a man among men, wiener shots seem counter productive.

  • In reply to Coxy:

    Ravens, Texans, Lions.

  • In reply to CanadaBear:

    canada have you won yet?

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

Yeah. 2 weeks ago. Last week I made the mistake of picking the Bungles. Not good.

  • In reply to CanadaBear:

so choosing a spread does not matter then.

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

The spread will still be applied, I just didn't list them. E.G. The Ravens are giving 7 (-7), the Ravens have to win by 8 pts for me to win. Texans are -3 so they have to win by 4 for me to win and same with the Lions.

  • In reply to CanadaBear:

    1. What a sad waste this is... all in the name of God? Did Jesus carry a piece (see how I did that?): http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shutdown_corner/post/Recently-retired-Glen-Coffee-arrested-for-having?urn=nfl-275674

    2. GP, denard is the obvious choice, but do you really think in anyone's right mind that our lovable fucktard Jerry Angelo would do what it takes to get a guy like that? We'd have to wait till he was the most obvious and most expensive free agent in the history of the NFL before Jerry would make a move for him

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Years ago I lived in Western Iowa. My best friend (R.I.P) lived in Omaha. We would go to the Zoo Bar in Lincoln to see great Blues bands. It was a fun place. We were there one Saturday when Nebraska played a non-conference patsy (Cedar Rapids Barber College). They smoked 'em about 72-0 (literally). We went to some restaurant before the show and the place was full of people wearing red and carrying on like it was their last night on earth. Truly pathetic. Needless to say I'm not a fan of Big Red.

  • In reply to CanadaBear:

I had no issue with them until I had an employee who not only loved "The BLackshirts" but also the fucking viqueens. After last season, he's no longer with us, and I now hate Neb almost as much as the queens.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

I'm a Chicago transport to Omaha via Tucson...

I hate the fucking Wildcats (minus Briggs, Arenas, and the (incredibly underrated) Stoudamire) and I went to school there.

Never been a fan of college sports: My argument has always been, if you're going to watch college - why stop there? High School, 8th grade B-team, YMCA squads, Tee-Ball.... I always hear the nonsense "They play so much harder" or "It's so much more pure" - FUCK. THAT.

Needless to say, these arguments come from people in cities that are too podunk for pro sports...

And the UFL doesn't count Omaha.

So, on to my more displeasing aromas of "HUSKER FOOTBALL" - these people sicken me. First off... It's Omaha, not Lincoln. Buck up princess and follow your UNO Mavericks or Creighton. I never caught fuckers in Flagstaff rooting for Arizona.

This shit is beyond scary in this town:

    "YOU WATCHIN THE GAME T'NIGHT?"
    "What game?"
"HARDY HAR HAR, I FERGOT YER AN ARIZONA BOY"
"I'm actually from Chicago..You know the real city 8 hours east? I'm more concerned about the Bears' game."
    "NFL? THAT AIN'T REAL FOOTBALL."

The sea of red at a Wal-Mart on any given Saturday... The Husker Plumbers, Husker Dental, Husker Laundry, Cornhusker Road etc... Oy fucking vey.

    Fuck me.

The only good thing is you can easily rob a bank on Husker gameday.

Screw you Nebraska, and your little corn too.

  • In reply to JohnGalt:

    Phew.

Now I feel a lot better.

    Thank you.

  • In reply to JohnGalt:

Rednecks are the same the world over Willie. Same attitudes, different lingo.

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

Ditto on college ball. Don't give a shit, don't care. It's amateur sports whichever way you slice it. Their rationale on purity would have wone believe that peewee is the purest form of football - which on second thoughts, it probably is.

  • In reply to JohnGalt:

Same wavelength. I rooted for Colorado in the early 90's solely because of the mutual hatred between the two schools.
My office emptied out real quick last night so people could catch a game I could not give two shits about.

  • In reply to JohnGalt:

    Nice rant, Willie!!

  • In reply to JohnGalt:

People keep saying we are not going to cut Tommie Harris.. Why are trying out people in his position? He is going to get cut soon. Real soon.

  • In reply to JohnGalt:

    saints -6.5 over cards
    chargers -6 over raiders
    falcons -3 over browns

  • In reply to JohnGalt:

As I was reading I actually started feeling sorry for the douche for a second... then I realized, jesus, the fucking hick was on booze and vics trying to screw every NJ groupie within earshot

  • In reply to MB30SD:

I don't even feel sorry for her. If she had any respect she would have dumped him and taken her share long ago. Lie down with dogs and you get fleas. I just don't get why quarter backs would marry before they're 40 ...

  • In reply to MB30SD:

It seems V-Jack's asking price was a 2nd and a 4th. Patrick Turner anyone? Anyone seen him play?

  • In reply to bnjrmyn:

Just noticed that soupbowlorbust picked these same ones before I did.

Cancel the Atl over Browns, replace with Bungles -6.5 over Bucs.

    Saints -6.5 over Cards

SD -6 over my home team(Oakland)

    Cincy -6.5 over TB(Tuberculosis)

  • In reply to bnjrmyn:

I think you can pick the same ones as soupbowlorbust, just not the same ones as Blogfather or one of his brothers.

  • In reply to bnjrmyn:

    Dear Blogfather,

I would like to nickname Todd Collins. In so doing, I think the nickname should serve as a reminder of how awful he looked against the Giants. With that said, can we please refer to Todd Collins as Montgomery Burns?

    Thanks,

    Viva

  • In reply to PhantomOne:

I prefer "Not the mixed drink", Todd Collins.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

So we agree that he needs a nickname. (In Jim Carrey voice)

  • In reply to PhantomOne:

He walks like Montgomery Burns, sure does have his legs.

  • In reply to PhantomOne:

Well he'll be going down that trap door pretty soon, say if we don't beat Carolina. If he can't game-manage that then what's the point in retaining him. Buffalo could beat us right now.

  • In reply to JohnGalt:

I have a farmer's daughter story that took place in Nebraska. I to this day piss myself when I think about it..

  • In reply to MB30SD:

I have an extra 80k in student loan debts due to my hatred of the Huskers.

  • In reply to CanadaBear:

    uuuuuuhhhhhh ooooohhhhhhh...

Just when we all thought this little 'thing' would just fade away, look like it just, might, stick: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20101008/ap_on_sp_fo_ne/fbn_favre_scandal

  • In reply to MB30SD:

It seems there may have been more than a bad ankle keeping the Brett girl from leaving Hattiesburg. The old adage that cutting corners causes more problems comes to mind. The Queens thought they could buy a title with the tool of ages and now they have a full fledged drama Queen with this guy and on top of it all, come Tuesday morning they will be 1-3. Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of dweebs. Ain't no way the rest of the players on that team like Favre now. That my friends is one screwed up team.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Jenn Sterger is fine as hell, Probaly the best thing Brett has done yet.

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

Or *hasn't* done as was probably the case ...

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

    Chiefs +8
    Bucs +7
    Jets -4

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

    falcons
    titans
    bears

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

Jeff, any chance we can just get the picks we can't use underneath the spreads? That's 21 minutes of our lives that we don't get back.

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

Tougher for me to get sponsors that way so no. It's only 20 mins of sound.

  • In reply to JeffHughes:

Do the sponsors know that most of Da Bloggers don't live in Chi-Town?

  • In reply to JeffHughes:

The sponsors are REAL?! I thought you were just taking the rip! That's fair enough then. So there really is a Sesame Chicken ....

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

I'm hoping his nickname is "Only Started Against Carolina"

  • In reply to JeffHughes:

I'm hopin we can call him " Touchdown Tommy".

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    I like it. Touchdown Tommy.
Got to say I think we get our asses kicked in this one though. We can't run it, can't pass it and can stop neither. Hope springs eternal.

  • In reply to JeffHughes:

"Mr. One Night Stand," will suffice.

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

    Jags
    Eagles
    Bears

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

Todd Collins looks wierd in a uniform, almost like a nerd trying to dress up for halloween.

I hope Jay suprises us and at the last minute shows up and plays, I dont think i will be able to watch Todd Collins aka geekstick, for the sunday afternoon.

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

He's still wearing the early 90's NFL jersey.

Why not bring back Testeverde? Come on Vinnie...

  • In reply to PhantomOne:

yea and he wears his pants around the his chest.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Having seen that chick, and having seen his wife ... hmmm ...

  • In reply to CanadaBear:

oh, and ... uuuuuuhhhhh ooohhhhhhhh: http://nfl.fanhouse.com/2010/10/08/brett-favre-downplays-elbow-soreness/?ncid=txtlnkusspor00000002

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Are you kidding me MB? Favre wants to save his arm for Monday. Ha ha ha ha.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

yeah, my first thought too trac... wiley veteran. But I think this year is nothing like last year. I think the old bitch has hit the wall man.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    http://deadspin.com/5603701/brett-favre-once-sent-me-cock-shots-not-a-love-story

HAHAH OOO MAN! u guys gotta read this one.

    Falcons -3
    Packers -2.5
    Bears Pick Em

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    GO BEARS! :)

  • In reply to GoBears:

    new poster?

  • In reply to GoBears:

    Indianapolis, Chicago, Jets.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Have we signed Patrick Turner yet?

And, yes MB, Jesus packed heat. Two Gospel .45s by his side shooting truth bullets.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

The only reason COllins was even signed was to win a game like this...if he can't "manage" (remember that word, bear's nation?) the game, score maybe 14 points, while our D and SPteams go to work (flashbacks...flashbacks) against an 0-4 team, then they should cut him, allow Hanie to move up to second again, and try to get back Dan LeFevour if he's still available for the 3rd spot. I still like that kid, and it makes be bitter that we "wasted" yet another draft pick. We sure could've used that pick for an Olinemen or Fullback methinks.

  • BlogHornLegHorn, The Reverend's Rant is hilarious! For some reason I always picture Silent Bob standing next to him.

    Bears over Panthers
    Chiefs +8 over Colts
    Lions -4 over rams

  • Denard Robinson can throw. And he's just as fast. Maybe faster. He's got Hester speed.

    Watch this:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hL9Dl0-SvpU

  • In reply to gpldan:

His throws start at 2 minutes in:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_Ac8PAQutw&feature=related

    Until then, enjoy his runs.

  • In reply to gpldan:

    Footnote: He's playing Kansas State.

  • In reply to gpldan:

3 things are going to happen this weekend:

    1. i'm getting fucked up all day saturday. not just fucked up...Tommie Harris fucked up.
    2. huge weekend bbq at my house, drinks by the firepit, bags all day long, no housework, Irish breakfast on Sunday.
    3. Bears win by 10 on Sunday. Defense and Special Teams play well and Hester rips off a reverse for a TD.

  • In reply to hollywood1:

    Bags Rules...

I have a strip of grass in my newly landscaped (live in desert) back yard just for bags. Wifey hates it.

  • In reply to PhantomOne:

    Bags?

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Yeah, what's the deal with bags?

  • In reply to PhantomOne:

    The away whites FQ? Really???

Can't fucking stand white unis... anyone's. LOVE our navys and LOOOOVED the throwbacks, I did miss the "C" on the helmet tho. I only own one jersey and I already told you the cute but sad story of that... can't wear it outside my house unfortunately. I might pony up for a Mike Brown #30 sometime in the near future tho.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

why cant u wear it outside?

I think the Navy blue are the best ones

  • In reply to gpldan:

Only one problem GP. He plays for Michigan.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

+1. Michigan is in the Not-so-Big Ten.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

I should delete this part of the thread. Denard Robinson is never going to play quarterback in the NFL, you lunatics.

  • In reply to JeffHughes:

    But we're your lunatics Jeff.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

+1. I'd love to listen but it just doesn't fly on dial up.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Anyone else pretty sure we will see "Green Acres", AKA Mr. Haney, tomorrow?

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

Didn't Collins look like his uniform was over-starched?

I'm still shocked he got the call. It can't be the "he gives us the best chance to win" scenario based on what I have seen, but I trust Martz.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

    JETS -4 Vikings

    Saints -6.5 CARDINALS

    Falcons -3 BROWNS

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    I'll say it again.

Traffic in Chicago SUCKS. I may leave for airpot
24 hrs early, just to be safe.

And I thought Tucson was full of Bozos behind the wheel.

    GEEEZ!

    Go Bears!

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

You should try driving in South Florida sometime. I think if you actually use your turn signal indicator down here, the cops can stop you for suspicious behavior...

  • In reply to tobijohn:

    Funny.

  • Ok, so when will they start making improvements on our OLINE? these fucking guys man.

  • Bears
    Saints
    Fudgers

  • No, not really Doc. I hope the Jets get to Favre on the field too.

  • just got my Away Cutler jersey. can i say i'm addicted to the Away joints? this shit screams hotness. def. gettin' the Urlacher in this one....

next: 54, Briggsy, (another) Peppers, Forte (when he starts playing like he deserves it), Hester, and MAYBE Wright next season

  • In reply to FQD1911:

How could you not want a Big Toe uni?

  • I read the story online before the season started and was wondering why ESPN/Yahoo/Fox hadn't run with it.

    Timing is everything.

Good thing Favre got out of the house before the season started.

"Umm yeah, Diane, yeah phone line is real static-y...uhh uhh I'll have to call you back."

  • In reply to PhantomOne:

It's really sad that his wife, kids and grandchildren have to suffer through this. Truly and sorry for them.

  • lmao you a fool

  • weird picture
