  • In reply to Crowned:

This is still my favorite Crown: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4zLlIdZikDk

btw, damn nice to have you back (avatar), wasn't the same without it.

  • In reply to Crowned:

I'm going to keep it very, very simple this time gents:

We need to look like a football team who's going to god damn compete in this league this year. That's it

I just want us to look like we're half fucking decent.

  • In reply to Crowned:

I love this everytime!!! Thank you blogfather for keeping it going

  • In reply to nicholsra:

Am I the only one that saw the back of Denny's head. Looks like someone scalped his ass.

  • In reply to Crowned:

I just hope that the conclusion is not true....That we know who we think we are..If that's the case get the clown car fired up it's going to be a long season.

  • In reply to Crowned:

Heard a little of the Brown/Lions game. Suh seems to be playing like he is who they thought he was.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Well played, but the bad news re: Suh makes me worry for this offensive line and Jay Cutler.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

The Bears actually won the toss.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

1st play of the game know and Hester ran into each other.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Cutty just threw an INT to Cromrartie

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    go D

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    wtg hh

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

We almost picked off Anderson. We held em on 3rd down though.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    run blocking sucking as usual

  • In reply to Mastodon:

Because of the INT everone was looking run at our end of the field though.

  • In reply to Mastodon:

Our whole D couldnt take down their third string running back.

  • In reply to Mastodon:

    Thank goodness Anderson sucks.

  • In reply to Mastodon:

Next series I predict Run, run, pass.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

I was wrong. Nice pass. 7 yds to Dez

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

FQ's link from gm 1 is working perfectly, just no audio. Great pic quality tho.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    nice catchjohnny

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Nice deep completion to Knox on Cromartie

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    Now we're rolling

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

A FUCKING RON TURNER PLAY!!! Wake up Martz!

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    Nice first down to Knox

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Nice screen to Chester. First down.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    Wildcat, fumble, Bears recover.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    Wildcat! wtf!!!

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Looks like it's just you and I, Trac. Hated the reverse to Hester (shades of Turdner) but otherwise the play calling has been ok. Pass blocking has been a pleasant surprise so far.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Our offense will tire out some Defenses if they can keep this up all year.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Though Cutler could look somewhere other than Know perhaps.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    Predict touchdown to DA

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Oh no, Cutler get sacked hi and low

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    Blocked FG. Oops.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Short dumpoff to Hightower. First down.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Cover None strikes again on 3rd down

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

3rd and long. Can we hold em?

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    No, first down.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

3rd and long again. Can we hold em this time?

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    Nope, first down again.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

TD Cards. The Bears are playing like we hoped they wouldn't.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

I'm about ready to give up on this season. Our offense is not good enough to get the 50 points a game we will need to win.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

we're getting preassure, but it ain't helping. Just like I mentioned FQ, a strong Dline can't help enough when you have a TERRIBLE D backfield. Pathetic.

I honestly don't know what you guys are seeing when you saw 10-6 or 11-5... I just don't see anything even close with this bunch. Maybe I'm just super frustrated right now... fucken a man.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    I see 5-11

  • In reply to Mastodon:

    If we're lucky. Very lucky.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Cutler ran for first down. I guess our WR's can live for one more play.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    Wow, awesome run by Chester.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    wtg chester

  • In reply to MB30SD:

I'm not gonna lie, we are close on so many plays, just not finishing when it counts. Missed field goal.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Special teams have looked like rookies in all these games so far. Not good.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

I know these games don't matter but damn... could be a long season for y'all.

  • In reply to windypack:

Thanks Windy... but we're painfully aware of this.

  • In reply to windypack:

Oh and MAX, if you're out there... that is how you behave on an opposing team's blog. Asshat.

  • In reply to windypack:

    Nice Devin H

  • In reply to windypack:

Nice pass and catch by Hester, first down.

  • In reply to windypack:

jesus christo... omlete with his second hold and Williams with his second sack.. essentially.

  • In reply to windypack:

Wow, Zona declined a holding penalty.

  • In reply to windypack:

    Ok, I'm out.

  • In reply to windypack:

    Canellis sure is a dope

  • In reply to windypack:

The offense is going to get better. The defense is hopeless. Major Wright can't come in after missing most of camp and play the way we need him to play. The zone scheme they keep running is either hopelessly flawed or the DBs are simply playing too far off the receiver.

It's very disappointing because they actually created a scheme to shut down the Cardinals offense and this is what the result is. I'll wait to pass judgment a few more weeks, but my gut tells me it's going to be a long season...and we all might want to buy some spit-shields for next season.

  • In reply to TheGhostofHalas:

Hard to disagree, Ghost. The defense looks really, really bad.

  • In reply to TheGhostofHalas:

With as few cuss words as possible MB, wrap it up as succinctly as you can before checking out dude.

  • In reply to TheGhostofHalas:

And I saw that FQ: "fqd1911: i hate to say it, but i don't feel good a/b this team"

  • In reply to TheGhostofHalas:

    We recovered a fumble. WoooHooo

  • In reply to TheGhostofHalas:

    False alarm, knee was down.

  • In reply to TheGhostofHalas:

said it before trac... we can't expect changes without anything changing.

  • In reply to TheGhostofHalas:

My bad, for one the other team got hosed on a call.

  • In reply to TheGhostofHalas:

Well I hope he offense clicks a little better in the 2nd hlf. Showing some good signs but still not in sync. Defense good on the run, but the 2ndry is a wide open on passes. Have to stay with the receiver..can't let them ahead of you. More pressure on the QB boys.

  • In reply to RogerMinton:

oh well Madd. I was hoping too.

  • In reply to RogerMinton:

    harris is a bum

  • In reply to RogerMinton:

This product sucks. Why on earth do we watch this garbage?

  • In reply to Mastodon:

Because we can't help ourselves SC.

  • In reply to Mastodon:

This is as bad a Bears team as I can remember for a long, long time. Five wins would be a miracle.

  • In reply to Mastodon:

    Here come the scrubs.

  • In reply to RogerMinton:

At what point can I really start calling it like it is boys? Up till now it has taken a lot of self control to not lay it all out there. I know there are more than a few on this blog that don't want to hear it but I don't think I can contain it until after the Lions game. Oh and TD Cards.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

As you know Trac... I am RIGHT there with you man. Lay it out there. This is the Chicago bears, not the fucking browns. We deserve better than this garbage.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

i'm w/ MB & Trac....got damn these boys look like ass....

  • In reply to RogerMinton:

Has there been a Manu sighting yet?

  • In reply to TheGhostofHalas:

The best we can hope for is:

    1. no injuries
    2. a mid-season 'jelling' of our young athletes and new schemes
    3. followed by a 6-0 rip to the playoffs

    Bear Down!

  • In reply to Oaktown34:

How many Beers Oak, be honest.

  • In reply to Oaktown34:

4th sack of the game gents... against the cardinals.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

I have a sermon building MB. By tomorrow I will rain down fire and brimstone.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Bring that Trac. I'm sure Jeff will too... unless you, SC Dave and I are insane.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Pepe just ain't got what it takes yet! He looks like he's in way over his head. I miss Caleb aleady!

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

sorry you had to join us FQ. I was actually really happy a few of you guys took the opposite tact. Wish what I was seeing wasn't true.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    It's only preseason, but... yikes.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Can't find a link that works, kinda glad I've only got Jeff Joniak to break it to me. Interestingly they were talking about D.J Moore - Angelo said he thought he'd make a good slot receiver. Here we go again.

Tofu is gone with a knee injury now.

I said I'd reserve judgement until after the Detroit game, but it's looking like they could kill us.

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

    Inglesias sighting for 24 yards.

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

I seem to remember reading somewhere that they would like to see Olsen step it up this week. I don't think I heard his name called tonight. Did he even play?

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

That's what I ask most weeks, Trac.

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

    I need a beer...or 12! Oh what the hell...make it a case!

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

I knew we'd make Leinart look good. 9/10. Jebus.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

I was ugly irish... fucking ugly all the way through man. As usual, guys dropping like flies too. Fuck man.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

well, me too... but I mean "it"

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

OK...I have been out of commission on the blog since the change. I read everyday. Someone please let me I am over reacting to a preseason game that "means nothing". How can you allegedly change the enitire (pretty much) coaching staff, and look at the same old shit? How can it look this bad?

  • In reply to derekd:

This is the NFL. You can't fire practically your whole staff, hire a bunch of has been out of work coaches to fill positions that nobody else wanted and expect to win in this league.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    Bingo!

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Looks like he just earned a roster spot.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    It gets better!

CH: "[Defensively] We threw a little bit more at them than we did the first two games."

And you went 14-0 down to Leinart and a guy who couldn't keep a job in Cleveland?? Maybe throw a little less at them next week man.

  • In reply to derekd:

Chris Harris was just asked how the defense played tonight "
"It was okay, it was decent."

    I miss you Jamar.

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

Harris did bring the wood on a couple of hits.

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

All of these ducheynes who have been touting the Cowboys as the NFC team to watch must be sweating buckets. Their first team offense still hasn't scored a TD in 3 games, right? Hey, we're better than Dallas. Just not better than GB or Detroit.

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

Yep, I was really hoping this season wasn't going to be like last Irish. Worrying whether we'd survive every single damn game, never mind dominate them.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    MB....?????????? Is it time?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oEQcxTyiwWQ&feature=related

  • In reply to nicholsra:

Yes Lobo, yes. I am already depressed.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

That bad huh? as I said earlier just got in and plugged in on the thread....boy#!$#!@$#!......It didn't sound good. Will have to wait till replay to get an idea but looks and sounds like a "pig with lipstick"

  • In reply to derekd:

O.K. boys just got home and...well... glad I didn't see the game because reading the thread I think I may have gone out to the bridge and jumped (same bridge that was in Terminator Salvation- that may give you an idea where I live).........so..I think we may change the Bears "Bear Down Chicago Bears"to this:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YgSPaXgAdzE&feature=fvwk

  • In reply to derekd:

    Another Inglesias sighting, TD.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Phone call after annoying phone call from the Tucson-folk regarding this debauchery. We are a laughing stock already. This is no good gents...

I feel terrible for, and yet completely angry at, Mr. Cutler.

    I hate Chris Williams.

    I hate Omelette.

    I hate Angelo.

    I'm hating life.

    Where's the Beam?

    So...

When does the NBA start? November?

My heart can't take this yet again. Why do I chug kool-aid every freaking year?

  • In reply to Oaktown34:

Again, this is not the way to fight your way back into the game. We have no identity. At least not a good one.

  • In reply to Oaktown34:

    3rd is starting out ugly!

  • In reply to TheGhostofHalas:

    Wow, a sack.

  • In reply to TheGhostofHalas:

What was that? Oh, a Bears sack... holy sheite!

  • In reply to TheGhostofHalas:

Call your relatives, the Bears held em on third down.

  • In reply to windypack:

Intercepted. This has been my complaint about drafting Cutler. We have changed our philosophy for one player. Sorry guys, that aint Chicago Bear football. Crap us some decent trench players then trade for a Jay Cutler like player.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

You do realize that we did not draft Cutler. In fact, we drafted (or "crap[ped us") a supposedly decent trench player in Chris Williams and then traded for "a Jay Cutler like player" named Jay Cutler.

  • In reply to Sitnah7:

That was a typo Sitnah. I know we didn't draft him. You try typing 40 wpm while watching this nightmare unfold without making any errors. Give me a break, you're not serious are you?

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

That's how you destroy promising quarterbacks like Cutler. The NFL archives are littered with them. The Bears were not ready for him. They may be in about 3 years but by then he'll probably be in some phsyco ward sipping his food through a straw.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

I was out eating with the familly and I didn't even want to look at what espn, chicagobears.com, or nfl was saying about the Bear's because I know that reading your comments and opinions on here is better then the bullshit I will hear from them.

5-11. That will be our record. We will have some close games but most will be ass whoopins.

For everyone saying wait till the Lion's game, are you crazy? Do you really think we are going to the superbowl if we beat them ? Regardless of the score, if they beat us at all we suck and if it close we suck. The Lion's game doesn't tell us if we can play. Preseason is for that.

Will we still watch them? Yes. Will we still bitch and moan? Yes. Will anything change when the regular season starts? We can only hope.

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

    B85S23....

"Will we still watch them? Yes. Will we still bitch and moan? Yes. Will anything change when the regular season starts? We can only hope."

It hurts but damn you preaching the truth brother!

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

The pisser about all this...Is the post game crap shoveling LDL will be giving...ugh??

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

What if I go with a different tac, everybody is always saying preseason doesnt matter, to a team like the Colts that has won no less than to games for like ten years now (whatever, Im not sure) and been to two Super Bowls vs our one, yea preseason doesnt matter, but to a team that seems to get more and more mediocre year regardless of the reasons behind it, they start geting "losers mentality" and then when they get down they don't have the heart to fight their way back from much. I'm looking at the usual great teams tearing it up in the preaseason right now so I'm worried, Detroit has been looking pretty good and if we think we are going to just beat detroit again without much effort we are kidding ourselves. Detroit looks like they might just come in our house and rip us a new one.

My hope is that this lack of overall decent or reliable play for the preseason is a calculated plan on behalf of the Lovie camp to lull the rest of the league into false sense of security and then blast them with a 6 game winning streak ouot of the gates.

    Ah I dream

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

"Don't do anything in practice that you wouldn't do in a game"

    Quote by George Halas

Now we know what they do in practice gents, Jackola.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    Trac...LDL would say "George who"?

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Had to go back to see what the thread heartbeat was all about again and now realize that Blogfather (Nostradamus)really knew who we thought we are...and also blogfather do you have the lottery numbers for the next big jackpot.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Why we will always love the 85's.... and the only thing that the chicago bears site has on the site that is worth anything.

    http://www.chicagobears.com/multimedia/multimediapopup.asp?mm_file_id=1985&play_clip=Y&rn=1

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

I've usually got the rose-colored glasses on and preseason means nothing but ... Fuck me, we stink. We've shown absolutely nothing in 3 games. The exact same shit as last year except now the ST's suck ass too. Unless things change dramatically when the season starts we're a 4-12 team. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.

When people whined about JA trading Harris I always said he was mediocre at best. Fuck, he's worse now. Fucking wonderful. Good night Gents.

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

we were james toney and the rest of the league was randy couture. jesus. The was almost as ugly as our game.

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

    are... is.

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

Shon.....calculated plan on behalf of the Lovie camp....this is LDL's camp song:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JqowmHgxVJQ

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

or maybe this....$#!@$#!@%$!@ this is for you MB......

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DuwY8U1AY7k

  • In reply to nicholsra:

    awesome. Thanks Lobo.

  • In reply to nicholsra:

The Bears were who we thought they were and we didn't let em off the hook!

  • In reply to nicholsra:

Well, you know what they say in the theatre...

"Bad dress rehearsal - good opening night."

Too bad this ain't the theatre.

  • In reply to nicholsra:

Good thing I just picked up that CD set with all the available games from the '85 season on Ebay so I'll have something to watch on Sundays this season.

Wonder what the over/under is for the Bears becoming irrelevant in 2010?

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

Al..can I come over and watch too! I will bring a case of Old Style for every game we watch! except for the Miami game..lol!

  • In reply to nicholsra:

    LOL, Lobo.

"OLD STYLE. G.Weileman Brewing co., LaCrosse,Wisconsin".

I had an Uncle who wouldn't drink anything else. We would occassinally fill his can with another brand. He never detected it. And think all those unfiltered Camel cigarettes killed his taste buds.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

Do you remember the bet between Daley and the Mayor of Miami..I think Richie Daley bet Carson's Ribs and something else(Prime Rib from Lawry's?)..having a senior moment here. But I don't remember what the Mayor form Miami? some kind of fish wasn't it?

  • In reply to nicholsra:

    and do you me G.Heileman?

  • In reply to nicholsra:

That should, of course, be "G. HEILEMANN Brewing Co."

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

by the way found a distributor right in your back yard..
FINLEY DISTRIBUTING ACQUISITION CO., LLC 2104 SOUTH EUCLID AVENUE TUCSON

I'm about a 9 hour drive away..I will pick them up on the way to your house ...lol!

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

Yup. Biggest distributor in town for as long as I can remember

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

"We're not where we want to be right now," coach Lovie Smith said. "The plan was for us to play a lot better at home in the third preseason game. But we have time. They're going to let us start over in a couple weeks."

Can PLEASE fire this moron now?

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Yeah but I bet "our SCHEME is good"!

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    http://www.chicagobears.com/news/NewsStory.asp?STORY_ID=7015

    wow.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

The Denny Green theme is apropriate.
I think we all go do a nice profane-laden rant about now.

Is it fair to say this team looks worse with each passing game?

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Well guys - I was there and I guess here's a few things I saw

I was in the row where Maynard warms up, and Lack was standing there in these ugly Bears shirts that look like a orange traffic cone is on the back. A few times he met with Peppers-Toeina-Izzy and the D Line, but mostly he kept to himself and away from the coaches. He had nothing to say to HH, not once.

Peppers is as big as Izzy. When standing together, they look like two men surrounded by JV players in high school.

Chris Williams looks worse in person than on tv. He really struggles getting back into his stance. However, I felt that the pressure came up the middle on stunts with a couple of exceptions. Omlette at least gets his reacharound arms on people, even if his footwork is slow. Kreutz at least twice simply didn't communicate or missed the inside stunt and got picked off.

Shabba is a sloppy route runner. They lined Olsen up wide and he really scares nobody. The corners even bump him, they don't fear his downfield blocking. He is useless out there really.

Dez is pretty damn effective as a H-back, he hits the hole and he blocks his ass off. Good thing too, because the other Samoan went down with a knee injury so we just have Williams as a true FB.

    K. Davis made an excellent grab on a sideline route, best catch of the night.

Cutty has happy feet. He's rattled because Martz wants 7 step drops from him, and he knows he's got to get back quick and often can't step up. He took off running a few times, but the Cards didn't care. They still pinned their ears back and rushed upfield until we started in with screens to Chester.

I can't express how bad Chris Harris is safety. Guys, there is no way we can play this guy - we just can't. Even though Jerry and Lovie look stupid for giving Jamar away, we gotta go with Pringles if at all possible from his hand injury and even Afalava would be better. Harris SUCKS.

Daniael by contrast, was really trying to send a message that he can hit guys coming across the middle. Problem is, he's a poor hitter, but his wheels get him there and he tries at least for the jarring hit. It's way better than Harris who arm tackles and is - he's done. He makes me miss Adam Archuleta getting run over by everyone, that's how bad he is.

Iwuh played decent as Briggs backup actually.

I hate to say this, but this team is a train wreck. A 4-12 team. It would be better to have Olsen be a backup H-back to Dez than to play him out wide. Get Bennett back and play him, Olsen is a joke out there - he is way way too slow. I would cut Samoan tatofu and Williams and keep Dez and Olsen as H-backs and keep Iglasias AND Bennett if I were coach. They need speed and depth of speed out there.

Hester fielded a punt at the 4. I think he was working on his burst but let's hope he knows better long term.

La Favor actually has talent, too bad he needs 2 seasons to develop and we don't have time. If Cutty goes down I am done. Checking out from Bears football, I've had enough Kordell Stewarts and Craig Krenzels in my life, I am not watching that.

Butter was soft, maybe because it was hot. No pass rush up the middle to speak of, the only guy out there besides Peppers shedding blocks consistently is Izzy.

I know DBB hates Hungry like the Smurf, but #25 busts his ass on special teams, as does scrappy sheed.

Even Robby Good as Gold looked rusty as he shanked a FG and had one blocked. We just sucked in all phases.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Oh and Chicago's infrastructure sucks. Parking at Soldier field, esp. coming up the Stevenson, mother mary - it is a horrorshow. The crowd was in a FOUL mood, even down in the 100 section seats the drunks were abundant and mean spirited.

The city is in a foul mood about these Bears and when Cutty took a knee to end the half the pace booed louder than the worst blown call I've ever heard there. The place ERUPTED in boos.

Cash parking down there is $46. Get it? 46?
    Fuck you Bears.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

One last thing then I am off to bed:

Giving Manofmoolah a big contract was fucking stupid. He's a big ol blocking oaf okay, but that money should have gone to Brandon Marshall. Knox can't do it alone.

  • In reply to gpldan:

    Plus f**ing one GPL.

And trading Jamar for Harris was equally mind-blowing. Briggs is down now, Urlacher has his calf thing (which could be anything) and Chris Harris is toast. No 0-line, no safeties, no receivers with a clue (apart from Shabba as always), no coaches or managers in possession of a brain.

We will start the season 0-1 my friends. Detroit will place second to GB the way they/we are playing. And that's cool, we get to firebomb the clown car and please Virginia let Ted Philips be strapped to the roof.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Apparently, Ndamakong Suh absolutely BRUTALIZED Jake Delhomme.

    From NFL Fanhouse:
"Suh fought through a double team on the play and looked exactly like the kind of player the Lions thought they were drafting when they took him with the second overall pick in April."

Oh yeah, things are REALLY looking up for opening Sunday.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

Thank God we've got two slow, knackered has-beens in Kreutz and Garza to deal with Mr. Suh. Oh wait ....

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    Soooo...

Which post-game headline are we most likely to see September 13th?

A)"King"(Ndama)Kong climbs atop the Cutler Building.

    B) Jahvid "Bests" Bears.

    C) Bears violated as Detroit whips out their (Calvin) "Johnson".

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

    Al.....

    D) All the above

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

Personally, I like C Al... but I think Lobo might be right. Take your pick.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

GP, thanks for the rundown. Did anyone else go to the game?

Did any of you who went see anything different from the rest of us? If you have koolaid please start serving... Johnny?

  • In reply to MB30SD:

I was there. No koolaid to serve. Chris Harris played really, really bad. Cutler's two picks were terrible. His long completion to Johnny should have been a TD but he under threw him. The oline looked about the same. Teams continue to catch the ball in the middle of the field...especially on third and long.

Only bright spots were Peppers and Taylor. Whoop di doo.

Looking like this is going to be a long season, Bears fans.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

What i really don't get is how can you NOT improve at least a tiny bit on opponents 3rd and long situations? It certainly feels like our defense gets worse at that every game. Fucking depressive...

Positives: Mr. Knox seems to become one damn fine, fundamentally sound wideout. Run blocking looked better. The pairing of Matt Forte and Chester Taylor might be something to rely on. Julius Peppers stout run defense.

  • In reply to DrinkBurpRepeat:

Still not buying in on Knox. His 'route-running' and lame brain caused an interception today. No strength. I would seriously keep Shabba, chuck the rest of 'em back on the pile and accept any random 4 or 5 receivers back. Hester/Knox/Bennett - seriously over-rated by hopeful Bear fans. Iglesias caught a TD pass from a scrub against scrubs. Big. swinging. nipples.

City in distress. Calling Bill Cowher. Come in, Bill Cowher.

And someone call Tony Washington. Maybe his sister was really hot ....

  • In reply to DrinkBurpRepeat:

Who's glad we dumped Vasher and Jamar now?

    Threads of hope?

    * Tommie Harris and Julius have a hell of a year together and people start to notice Izzy. Especially opposing QBs

    * Somehow ... please baby Jebus, Lobo's favorite of all the Jebuses, please let there be a wall around baby Jay Christopher soon and keep him in your daily prayers

    * I've been a good boy all year Santa. Vincent Jackson is our last shot at a man-sized receiver who knows how to spell R-O-U-T-E. Get it done.

    * While you're at it Santa, any chance of Darelle Revis?

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

I don't think "Rock Jock" Vasher is making anybody miss him out on the Chargers. Tim Jennings is his equal. I watched Jennings sky for an INT right in front of me, he was too smurfy so the pass went over his head and was completed.

Vasher couldn't even leave his feet, so it was a wash.

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

So here is "Are you Smarter than a Fifth Grader" two part question:

Is it the lack of enthusiasm in our coaching abilities..ie..LIMP DICK LOVIE to get our gladiators fired up or the lack of urgency of our players in the realization that our team will be like the Titanic?

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

Lovie Smith will be coaching the linebackers on the Buffalo Bills next season. And can we please bring in a real D coordinator next year?!?

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

    We

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

Does this go with the theme...(maybe it is some theme that Jeff might insert into one of his productions)

  • In reply to nicholsra:

Is it ime to run to Vegas and bet the Bears "Under"?

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Anderson is now passing the rock at will.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

This ain't horsehoes, Trac, so close don't mean shit.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

stop the idiot blathering about Butter... sheesh!

  • In reply to MB30SD:

If you take nothing else away from this game just remember that Derek Anderson and someone named Stephen Williams SHREDDED the Chicago Bears defense.

Can't stop the run. Can't stop the pass. Other than that we're fine.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

The only phase of the game working is our run D. But what good is that if your'e aloud to pass the ball.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Beanie Well wide open but dropped the ball.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Looks like you're typical Lovie-cover two drive, had several chances to squash it but just the same old shit.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Fumble on return but Bears recover.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Sorry guys, same Bears with or without Peppers.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

De ja Vu. This is eerily familiar.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Lance Briggs in the locker room with an ankle. Oh jebus!

  • In reply to Mastodon:

    *All* Day on that one!

  • Hey guys, who are we playing tomorrow?

  • I'd like to see a bounce back game from Chris Williams.

I'd like to see Cutler zing seemingly effortless passes to his receivers in full stride.

I'd like to see Tommie, Peppers and the rest of the D line get some serious pressure on Derek Anderson.

I'd like to see an opportunistic secondary come up with another INT or 2.

I'd like to see our new backup QB look comfortable running this Mike Martz offense.

I'd like to see Wolfe or Bell step up and take the last RB spot.

Most importantly, I want this meaningless game to end without injury.

  • I'm with you Doc. Tonight we will see some of the new wrinkles I think. Maybe just a little peek.

  • Any good internet feeds would be a help gents. Don't know if the link FQ posted will work.

  • I just hope the Bears don't make Leinart like a perennial All Star if he gets to play tonight.

  • Here is the link to a feed that is already up and showing the pregame show. Hopefully it stays up:

What do I have to do to find the game. I have a choice between Mexican Soccer Match, Eskimos Football game and another soccer game.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

I think I found it. Thanks

  • In reply to dkbat:

    great link

  • That was both strangely discomforting yet eerily funny.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

sorry, my grammar goes to shit when I'm angry.

  • Fuck Vasher... as for jamar, that had been you and I since day one. Nice move angleo you fucking moron.

    * At least Peppers will

    * You need bricks and cement to build a wall irish... we seem to have neither

    * Not a chance in hell Vigi and the rest of the mccockstays are going to give more of their easy earned money to Jerry to waste on ill conceived pickups just so that he can try to save his and lovie's asses.

    * (See above)

    Read my lips Irish

  • SD.. I hope your right about PS#3 but my biggest problem is the lack of enthusiasm, pissed off, or excitement.. hit some one attitude. We don't even have the basic's down. BLOCK, TACKLE, RUN THRU THE OPPONENT all good football teams build upon these pillars of football.

We have a camp which might as well be Club-Med, and a football coach that shows up on Friday singing "Show me the Money".

  • Missed the game last night, but watched it this morning. UGLY! This team has taken on the personality of the head coach....NO EMOTION. How can you play football with no emotion? The whole team shows none. Major Harris has had the best safety play this pre season. Pisa is playing fast and playing with some heart. We cant waste roster spots on a couple guys that make a good play on special teams but don't contribute elsewhere. Get rid of Rash and Wolfe, pick up a discard off waivers, see if you can find a player with a heartbeat even if only for this year. Coulda had T.O. for next to nothing. I'm kind of speechless at the play of our players. How can Williams regress? He played solid the second half last year. is it Tice? I think the only answer is to clean house. Everybody goes, start fresh. If we get new management, and things go reasonably well, I'm guessing we are three or four years away from being a good football team.

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

Maybe on offense. On defense, we are going downhill. We are old on Defense.

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

And people call me crazy for having a man crush on Mike Singletary or Rex Ryan. No, they've not won any rings as head coaches but dammit they get you fired up. I'd rather have a coach that acted like he cared than wondering if he left the stove on. This is football, not chess. It's nice to see a majority in here that are on the same page. Those that are not, retire.

  • In reply to bearsvegas:

bv.... I have had the same praise for both of those coaches..I will take the emotion over LIMP DICK LOVIE (LDL) anytime. This is why I coined LDL he's a eunuch in a whorehouse. Best thing to do is throw out from TP on down.... string their arses into the streets.

  • In reply to bearsvegas:

This is how are coach should be reacting at this time:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lGXHxhDMBBY

    YOU SUCK LDL!!!!

  • In reply to bearsvegas:

are should our..I'm so pissed off all I can see is a white flash!

  • In reply to bearsvegas:

O.K. have had the chance to see the replay of the first half..taking deep Lamaze breathe's here..

    1. first play of the off.. DH and JK looking at each other like "Who's on first"? bad click'

    2. second play of that series Williams is owned and gets bitch slapped!

    3. Actually love the stretch by Shodu..

    4. next in that series picked off and Williams guys again owns Williams and it his guy that gets in JC's face..

    5.punt

    6. first play def.. 9 yard run over HH beaten like a rag doll..question is can BU do any better at this age? I don't know?

    7. 3rd string running back Jason Wright owns our D... All of them his rugby technique move forward and 11 to one and Wright wins the fight and almost gets the first down. OMG someone hit someone and not your own teammate and grow a pair PLEASE!!!!!

8.Golden Thor cannot figure out where he supposed to be and JC has to call a timeout. nice job you BI@!%$#!@$CH!

D grade C- secondary is again the concern..hey wait is that not what this blog has been saying since last season? Need a FS yeah that's right we are still in the experiment phase.

O grade D-wow, I don't know where to start...Where are the two guards I have been asking for..oh yeah "we are all set". CW looks like he's back in his rookie year, total confusion on line, receivers..... crikey!

MM you better have a little more to bring to the table..problem maybe that our gladiators are "cornfused" between all the silverware on the table. duh$#!@$#!@%$!@$%

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

Oh contrary says Lovie. We have time the great one says. They will let us start over he says. And optimist prime fans will say it's only preseason. At least Peppers is honest in that we have to get a lot better but the clock is running out. Why can't Lovie be honest instead of pulling the hope card on us. Sadly some fans eat that up.

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

100% correct Murph. Exactly. This cancer of a management team continues to show its incompetence and to erode the greatness of this organization into utter mediocrity

  • In reply to MB30SD:

What "greatness" of this organization can you *possibly* be referring to? Jim Finks quit in 1982, and this franchise has totally sucked since.

The glory years of the Bears were when in a relative sense no one gave a shit about the NFL. And there were what, eight frigging teams in the league? Since the merger, the Bears have been pathetic and would be no better than Detroit had Finks not served as GM.

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

Rex Grossman fumbles snap and gives up a safety.. that's the rexy I remember, you little goob.

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

I totally agree vegas... I was wathcing the mix up clip that I posted up top and one thing you have to give to morra, dude called it like it was... 'We couldn't do diddily poo... We couldn't get a first down, we couldn't complete a pass, we sucked.'

It would be so fucking refreshing to hear lovie just admit that he has no fucking clue how to build and field a winning NFL football team. Fucking clueless. Pathetic.

  • We are not the colt's people. Preseason is telling you what is to come. Stop saying after 12th we will know what kind of team we have. I can already tell you. 5-11, we have no secondary to save our life and no o-line. Period. If you can't block for the pass or the run then your screwed and if you can't stop the other team from converting 3rd and long then you are screwed.

Go ahead Lovie, Martz, Tice, Rod, Jerry, prove me wrong. I am willing to bet you barely get by the Lion's. Ohh, and if we beat the shit out of the Lion's...so what?! It's the Lion's.
