  • I'll only believe it if he's not under center by week 8.

  • OK. Narcissus threw in the towel, supposedly, because:

    A) "My Ankle still is making ow-ees on me."

    B) "My butt hasn't been properly kissed since "Chilly" flew down here last month."

    C) "Trainin' Camp? I ain gone to no TRAININ' camp. I ain god to cho ju any STEENKIN' TRAININ' CAMP!"

    or...

    D) "Orange Julius? TWICE a year? SCREW that!"

  • Oh,BTW, we LOVE the header graphic, Blogfather. LOL!

  • Bring on Turdvarious!

  • History time: The record shown is a 78 rpm vintage.

Yes, children, before mp3 .wavs and aiffs, before CD before LPs, before 45s there was, the 78 RPM!!!! Played on Victorolas that you cranked up to operate. My Grandma had one that we absolute ABUSED as kids but I wish to hell I'd gotten my hands on it now becaus eit worked and those are highly collectible now.

I can't quite read the song title on the "broken record" to see if blogfather has buried any more signficance in today's position statement.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

    i have a working 1907 Victor Victrola w/ crank and 800 78"s and i use it!!!!!!!!

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

@hansonscott Favre is on the high school field in Hattiesburg

    Its not over yet!

  • In reply to skjaeveland:

    He wasn't practicing Norway.

Hopefully he's just getting ready for his new job... assistant high school football coach: http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ap-favrethrows

  • In reply to skjaeveland:

Any story whose title includes the words "Brett Favre" and "cock shots" brings joy to my heart. Hope this unleashes a Tiger Woods level of girls coming out with similar stories. At the very least ESPN wont be able to rhapsodize about his performance in that game after he found out about his wife's cancer.
    http://deadspin.com/5603701/brett-favre-once-sent-me-cock-shots-not-a-love-story

  • In reply to Reverenddave:

Rev...that is the funniest shit I have ever read in my life! This story is blowin' the fuck up! BAHAHAHHA

  • In reply to Reverenddave:

So yesterday, there was the 4-letter's Ed Werder, divesting himself of his last shreds of self-respect and credibility by saying, with a straight face, that he thought Narcissus was "honest" EVERY TIME he talked about retiring.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

Al..please read the above report on Deadspin, would like to hear your take on it. I think that story is the single reason The Silver Fox is contemplating his retirement. What a creeper that Favre is.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

I was watching comcast sports last night, they showed Jay Cutler totally getting pissed off cause the oline was getting crushed by the dline in 11 on 11 drills.lol. Then u chucked the football at the medical tent.. haha Omiyale is fucking up left and right, i will be totally suprised if he starts. Anderson looks explosive and JP is a monster! Our D maybe back

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

Back to Bear football, Via ZachZaidman: Bears sign former Penn St DL Maurice Evans. Corresponding roster move to come.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

Oh, and btw... this slipped through the cracks yesterday whith all the farve shit: http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ap-lions-suh

    Suh in the house.

  • 1. The Brett girl was who we thought she was.
    2. Couldn't happen to a nicer team.
    3. Minny will be lucky to have a winning record.
    4. The division is the Bears to lose.
    5. This is why Childress is a douche.
    6. Wouldn't it be great if the Williams girls get suspended?
    7. Will the networks give the Bears the Vikings time slots now?

    I love me some football.

  • That sound you heard was some heavy item bouncing off a wall at NBC SPORTS.

VIKINGS-SAINTS leads off Sunday Night Fooball this season.

  • I'll believe it when I see it. What a self serving piece of cow shit... Perfect pic Jeff, same old broken record. Personally, I'm a little disappointed because I won't get to witness my twisted fantasy of watching Da Bears end his evil reign over the NFC North and the NFL as a whole once and for all.

I respect what he has done as a player in this league but at the same time, I just can't stand the SOB.

    Bears For Life!

Hey MB, you got your tix yet for next Sat? It's own!

  • I hope I'm wrong but I'm calling Bullshit. When I see Tavaris Jackson under center week one I'll believe it for sure.

  • I called it way back when..HE ISN"T COMING BACK!!!!!!!!!!!

All he wanted to do was prove to people that he could play and he did. Give me my waffle fries for free!

  • Very nice Al. Great list Trac. Doc and Matty, yep. Coach... correct sir! That putz Childress should have picked up McNabb when he had the chance... fool.

Oh, and if you want a nice visual analogy of what just happened, here's one for you:

    Vikings = The Dryer
    Farve = The Brick

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=307jRiE6t5I

Matty... Hells yeah man, can't wait. Going to wait till the week of, then pick up some sweet low price seats on Craig's list from a season tix holder who doesn't give a shit about preseason or the bears. Let's figure out a spot to connect, I'll buy first round.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Hey Mb.. sorry for doubting Peppers.. Watched Joe's videos. Wow

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

none necessary '85. It's all a crapshoot until Sept my boy.

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

    perfect perfect sentiment.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

I say Wett Farte and the Queens come to a compromise and he starts the season on the PUP list. If that ankle is tender, all it will take is Alex Brown in game 1 to land on it and that ankle will shatter into millions of little Favre organisms.

  • In reply to Joseph:

Now there's a terrifying thought. I'm sure it makes Peter King get all drippy though.

  • In reply to Joseph:

Olsen was going to be traded but the patriots didn't want him.

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

you mean they didn't want him at the cost of a 2nd rounder.

  • In reply to FQD1911:

Would you give up your qb's fav target for less than a second round pick?

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

no, but you made it seem the Pats didn't want him. Bellicheat wanted him, but not for a 2nd rounder (which i can't argue that being a bad move).

  • In reply to FQD1911:

I see what you mean. I just meant in the end they didn't want him and went another route. Btw.. nice on the Bellicheat lol

  • In reply to FQD1911:

    Yep.

Check Da Coach on the situation: http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=5434324

Sounds like he had a rough night last night. Boo Yah!

  • In reply to MB30SD:

No kidding! He sounded like he smoked about a half dozen stogies while he was pounding drinks last night.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Dude, I was going to post AND say the same thing! Da coach still knows how to party!

  • In reply to MatthewIsMyForte:

Gotta love the coach. When he got popped for a DUI after a loooong flight back from whippin' up on the Forty Whiners, he wasn't even sorry about it. McMahon was laughing about it the next day. He drove past the coach as he was getting popped.

  • In reply to CanadaBear:

McMahon.. See you at practice Tomm coach lol

  • In reply to MatthewIsMyForte:

Jay Cutler got pissed today with horrible protection today.

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

seriously? what happened? seeing a lot of buzz a/b him being "frustrated by the D" on twitter.

  • In reply to FQD1911:

No one blocking and JP got asked What do you think about Jay getting frustrated by the D? Jp was like I don't care if he is frustrated lol

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

yea...this team is going to be official this year. defense doesn't give a fuck about anybody & JC is gonna get that O-Line right. NOW Cutty's acting like this is his team....i like it

  • In reply to FQD1911:

Gotta agree. I like it when both sides of the ball don't give a crap about the other guys feelings. Harris knocked a ball out of Cutler's hands and Cutler ended up throwing it at Harris' feet. Good stuff. It means both sides know this is it. If we suck this year there are going to be a lot of ex-Bears after the season (mgmt and players).

  • In reply to CanadaBear:

CB...tackling fuel!!! GET PISSED OFF..and then bring it to the field..just go out and HIT SOMEONE!!!!!

  • In reply to CanadaBear:

Yeah, Omiyale totally let JP tear him up and then Anderson would have killed Cutler as he stepped up into the pocket.

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

    '85, are you in b-banaisey?

  • In reply to MB30SD:

I wish. I am just reading what they say on twitter..some of it doesn't stay on there and I was reading what had happen.

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

Is where I got my info.

  • In reply to CanadaBear:

ok fellas (and ladies), time to make a serious pitch for football games:

so i'm on this forum (http://www.xmeforums.com/forums/); use it for all the UFC fights (and they come in crystal-clear in HD). making a big, big push to get the admins to post all Bears games this season (televised & non-televised), and from what i've been hearing in the past, they fulfill most requests in NFL season.

yes it costs, and here are the rates:

    1 Day Pass - $3.50
    2 Week Pass - $6.50
1 Month Pass - $10.00 (best value b/c you'll have access to the whole site: UFC fights, int'l soccer games, and whatever else they show)

i've already put the TV schedule for all 16 games for this year and I would highly suggest you all go there and reply to my post on the site (i'll paste it somewhere on Saturday). if you have any questions, feel free to ask (being that this will solve all of our football game blues in searching for a site to watch games).

And to answer questions about the streams, they are virtually perfect. watched 4 UFC fights on there and the feed rarely shorts (and if it does, it's for no more than 5 seconds). I highly recommend people not living in the Chicagoland area to take a look at this solution. :-)

  • In reply to FQD1911:

sorry forgot to add something: you can either pay through PayPal, AlertPay (like an alternate PayPal), or Google (not sure how that works).

  • In reply to FQD1911:

I'm in FQ. Willing to risk $10 to have access to every fucking game man. And if they blow it or they suck, it's only $10. Post the link here and I'll drop a note in support.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

it would be $10 a month, so to watch all 16 (and the playoff games will be on TV) it comes out to $40 for the whole season (damn near 75% off on NFL Sunday Ticket). idk a/b you, but i'm all for that.

  • In reply to FQD1911:

    oh, and thank you sir.

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

We blew the opportunity to totally ignore this thread, giving the Favre story the level of attention is so richly deserves. A pity.

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

horrible protection = awesome D line. Good. The Monsters are back.

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

some sources think Favre is making a power play for more money. we'll see i guess. no official word from Favre. what a dick. he won't even confirm or deny in his own words.

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

Hey MB, Melissa Polinar is playing in San Diego (with others) on Saturday August 8th. I'd kill to see her. She's written some wicked songs (up on Youtube 'mpolinar'). Maybe bring in-utero MB along so you can tell 'em they were at a Melissa Polinar gig back in the day before she was world famous.

Nice voice, but not really my style Irish. Thanks for the shout out though, I love hearing new music.

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

    1. Great blog photo Jefe ! All the younger readers are like "What's that ?"

    2. Favre retired ? Again ? Really ? I'll take week 12, Albert ....

    3. if .... *if* ... *IF* he's gone for good - then we're a penalty kick for NFC North champions. Minny just became a one-dimensional team (unless they start Rosenfels) with a bad secondary. Bear meat. Nothing scares me about Green Bay - Rodgers will be flat on his back underneath a Bear pile for those two games. We can grind out a close win in the away game there and kick the crap out of them in Soldier field

    4. There is no 4 ... the witch is dead ! Ding dong the witch is dead the witch is dead the witch is dead ding dong the wicked witch is dead !!

Here are your keys Mr. Cutler, the NFC North is ready ....

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

In a hot second Artoo. QBs shouldn't have favorite targets unless your name is Jerry fucking Rice.

  • In reply to FQD1911:

Boys...only one announcement to be said for "The V-Queen himself"

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_b3oPslctA

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

They wanted him, but not for the 44th pick price tag. We could probably have offloaded him for their their worst 2nd round pick or a third rounder. We'd get better as a team AND grab another pick. What a jip.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

MB, Thanks for those best wishes from the previous thread. Much appreciated my friend!

  • In reply to iamndmurff:

    Of course Murph... or course.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    Well, Brad isn't buying it.

Childress: "Favre hasn't told me he's retiring".

    http://www.startribune.com/sports/

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

How pissed are those guys? Those two reporters we visibly angry. Hilarious! Awesome!

Even if it turns out to be total bullshit, it's funny as hell watching all these fucking Minny yokels squirm. "I don't know if this is a playoff team without him!"

    I

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Classic. Can you imagine if this was in Chicago? The press would be beating Favre up big time. I think it's mostly about more money. Favre has them by the short hairs and he's tugging.

  • In reply to CanadaBear:

    exactly canada

  • In reply to CanadaBear:

he's still under contract though ...

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

When did you turn into Andy Hardy? He's got a contract this year for $13 mil. He's got all the leverage in this deal because Chilly and Ziggy have been taking turns using their chins for Favre's ball rest. Don't want to go to training camp? No problem. Don't want to make a decision on retirement? No problem. Don't want to come back for $13 mil? No problem. They have done nothing but enable Favre from the minute they started courting him. He's a notorious cheap ass. Let's be honest, a couple of mil doesn't sound like much when you're talking about sports contracts. However, a couple of mil would probably be enough for most of us to retire. It's a lot of dough and I'm sure Favre can squeeze at least that much more out of Ziggy. Basically the BiQueens entire season rests on Favre. If Ziggy cheaps out and the Queens don't go to the playoffs, man is there going to be some crying going on up north. I Love It!!

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

Favre was overshadowed by the Connecticut work shooting yesterday. He doesn't like to be one upped. Look for him to shoot 11 people today

  • In reply to MASOCHR:

That was sick... but funny... in a sick way.

  • In reply to MASOCHR:

Al, this one's for you: http://backporch.fanhouse.com/2010/08/02/am-i-fitter-than-albert-haynesworth/?icid=main|main|dl3|link5|http%3A%2F%2Fbackporch.fanhouse.com%2F2010%2F08%2F02%2Fam-i-fitter-than-albert-haynesworth%2F

All kinds of idiots coming out of the woodwork to show up Haynesworth. For a 100 Mill I would do 5 of those tests every day for the next 10-20 years. The bottom line is that the guy is just not a team player and feels completely entitled (sounds like someone else that

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

If it were any other player I'd believe he's hanging it up. With Favre, I won't believe it until the season is over. I could see Chilly going down to MS for some major BJ action, the Biqueens fans holding rallies and then Favre reluctantly coming back because "they love me, they really love me." If this actually happens I'll probably puke but it wouldn't surprise me.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/writers/michael_rosenberg/08/03/favre/index.html?eref=sihp

"Since the end of the 2007 season: Favre has more retirements (three) than the Detroit Lions have wins (two)."

Hahahaha... I'm with you Al. Who knows with that kook.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

I just bought 3 tix off craigslist for $150. Press lvl Sec. 11 row 1. Northeast endzone at about the goal line. You'll proly find a bitchin deal for closer seats if you wait. I'm bringin my brother and my nephew so I just wanted the tickets in hand. no stress. I'm fuckin STOKED!

Let's meet up in the lot for a brew & a brat! Lookin forward to meeting you bro!

    mmmbearsss!

  • In reply to MatthewIsMyForte:

Nice Matty. Sounds like a good set of seats. I

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Hey, don't worry about it. It happens to the hardest of die-hards! I'll be havin a pretty tame pregame as well with the nephew around. Ya, might want to leave the lady resting at home unless you're feelin like flexin your play-by-play skills.

I'll be doin the same thing for my girl friend Dec 26th against the Jets! She's a SD native and it will be her 1st Bears game at Soldiers!

  • In reply to MatthewIsMyForte:

Greg Olsen just sealed Julius Peppers with a great block to open a hole during run drill. Big time praise from TE coach Mike DeBord.

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

yea i was just a/b to post this. here's looking at you Irish (lol)

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

So Narcissus has, apparently, texted his latest "retirement" to NUMEROUS teammates and at least SOME Vikings' management but HASN'T had the COMMON COURTESY to inform his Head Coach and #1 ass-kisser of recent years, Brad Childress?

    That is soooo Narcissus, no?

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

Al...This Drama Queen is home is singing The Clashes classic song "Should I stay or Should I go" and the others giddy are the Packers Management saying "well Childry he's your nightmare now"!!! BBBBBAAAAAAHHHHHHAAAAAA!

  • In reply to MB30SD:

I used to have one like that...had to keep it chained to the wall like a rabid dog...rebuilt it 3 times in 12 yrs. Finally bought a Maytag Neptune...best machine ever. 11yrs and still running great!

  • I'm not buying either! Take LDL and JA with you Brett...and if he truly does retire,it may be a blessing to to the Bears...though it would have been fun to see him get flattened a few more times.
