Putting the beats back on the top of the table for the next couple days. I'm out in northern California so I'll have Bears v. Raiders on local television, barring the ridiculousness of NFL preseason blackouts.

First! But I live here, so...
?
He's the little gnome that lives inside the blog.
Hahahaha...
I like the embedded Twitter feed web object thingy. Most of DBB's technology is like the old Soldier Field locker rooms pre-ashtray, i.e. third rate suckage. But that's a neat widget.
I think we're going to do this Twitter thing for games during the season too. Except I'll choose three or four of you guys and let you basically be the lead writers for the games. I'm pumped.
Can I do the cowgirls game? I have a great storyline.
AWW SHIT MOTHAFUCKAS!!!!!!!!! DABEARS ARE BACK!.... WHUD UP!
Finally.
Jeff, do you have Adam Schefter on our twitter thing?
Because he will be there today and isn't a Bear fan. Thus, I am hoping he will tell the cold hard truth.
Thanks again.
please let me know when you do this. totally pumped to do it
Thanks for making me read that twice Albert.
Track, you are on fire right now. Hovering over the dbb like a predator unmanned killing machine. .. waiting, ready to deliver a quick, short, but deadly strike to your target
Sometimes I feel like a nut, sometimes I don't.
Thanks MB!
nice job holding it down in the offseason!
I'm just luggage here DM, lot of the other boys were the real heros. I'm just one of the cogs.
bullshit.. he wrote a play that was probally the best post on here so far.
Frank Omiyale false start in running drill and he's replaced by Kevin Shaffer in 9-on-7
That was for you Irish.. lol
He was replaced immeadiately.. Wow. Frankie probally is gonna lose his job now!!! Web.. get your 24 size feet in the right tackle spot!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was just watching that on a vid, then I scroll down and see your comment! Nice idea, you make a mistake on the field and get yanked immediately for it. Get to think about what you did.
Nice to see Dez making noises.
That was all Mike Tice and Martz I bet.
Lovie would have gave him a benefit of the doubt..
"It's our first practice, Mike.. " says Lovie
"Fuck the first practice, Omelette, Get out! Shafter move your ass." Tice
Look at you '85... well done lad.
David Haugh article = gay
http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/football/bears/ct-spt-0730-haugh-bears-chicago--20100729,0,5835919.column
Let me sum it up for you:
The Bears may completely suck and i have no confidence that they will do well...but i may be completely wrong.
brutal
Maybe we should call him David "Waffle" Haugh?
I see how you did that Trac.
Twitter = double gay
Zach Zaidman:
-It might rain at some point during the practice. Gray skies.
DM, there are no injuries after the first day of training camp (unless you're the Ravens unfortunately). Injuries will define this season
Now, Now MB. Lovie did say Caleb Haney stepped up big in practice yesterday.
Sweet, we have our #2 Trac! Who cares if Jay goes down.
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/football/nfl/07/30/bryant.cowboys.ap/index.html?eref=sihp
Damn, that was fast. High ancle sprains are bad... can linger for a long time if you're not careful. Better start brushing up on your pads carrying form Dez.
Add TE Brandon Manumaleuna to list of those not participating this morning. Still no sign of Chris Harris who earlier left the field.
I hope he didn't do anything.
Seriously man, fucken a.
Brucie coming here? Ohh.. hell yeah.. can we say new receiver coach ? lol
S Al Afalava making the pads thump on these tacking drills. Don't know y the staff doesn't give him more run. Need 2 investigate that
Earl Bennett just drew applause w/a nice catch. Two plays later, Rashied Davis dropped a ball and a fan said, "go back to Arena League
LMAO!!!!
Where the hell are ya'll lol Mr. Omelette blocked JP.. Is that good or bad.. one on one.
I think both guys are going to be just fine...sometimes I think I'm the only guy that believes Omiyale is going to be a lock-down RT.
I agree.... you ARE the only one who thinks that.
You missed one MB. GP feels like a nut today as well.
We'll see how it plays out...CW didn't light the world on fire when he was playing out of position either. And Manu-beast-aleuna is going to be a 5th tackle on the line, which can only make Omelette look better. I think we could put a little blog wager on it.
Care to put a blog wager on it?
Jesus H. christ - the comment-code on this site flakes out like a f-cking Filet'o'fish sandwich some days.
I AM GOING TO PUT THE TWITTER THING UP HERE FOR THE START OF MOST PRACTICES. LET'S SEE HOW HIGH WE CAN GET THE COMMENT COUNT BY THE END OF CAMP.
With the way Omiyale is jumping offsides we should be able to get to a thousand by the last camp.
posting this again for ppl that didn't see (sorry for the spamming in advance):
ok fellas (and ladies), time to make a serious pitch for football games:
so i'm on this forum (http://www.xmeforums.com/forums/); use it for all the UFC fights (and they come in crystal-clear in HD). making a big, big push to get the admins to post all Bears games this season (televised & non-televised), and from what i've been hearing in the past, they fulfill most requests in NFL season.
yes it costs, and here are the rates:
1 Day Pass - $3.50
2 Week Pass - $6.50
1 Month Pass - $10.00 (best value b/c you'll have access to the whole site: UFC fights, int'l soccer games, and whatever else they show)
you can either pay through PayPal, AlertPay (like an alternate PayPal), or Google (not sure how that works). in essence, to watch all 16 (and the playoff games will be on TV), it comes out to $40 for the whole season (damn near 75% off on NFL Sunday Ticket). idk a/b you, but i'm all for that.
i've already put the TV schedule for all 16 games for this year and I would highly suggest you all go there and reply to my post on the site (i'll paste it somewhere on Saturday). if you have any questions, feel free to ask (being that this will solve all of our football game blues in searching for a site to watch games).
And to answer questions about the streams, they are virtually perfect. watched 4 UFC fights on there and the feed rarely shorts (and if it does, it's for no more than 5 seconds). I highly recommend people not living in the Chicagoland area to take a look at this solution. :-)
Fucking. Ridiculous: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/football/nfl/08/04/favre.throws.ap/index.html?eref=sihp
Jebus Christo. Is this fucking guy even serious?
And thought you guys might enjoy this pic: http://i.cdn.turner.com/si/.element/img/4.0/global/swapper/201008/100804.05.jpg
I guess they are some proud father's little girls MB.

Down payment on house bought with money from rookie contract...$50,000
Lease payment on 2010 Caddilac Escalade...$650

Thank you for that FQ. See that MB, our boys were in full pads and practiced hard. I'm starting to really get stoked. I'm telling you guys, I really believe this is going to be a special season.
I don't think that they won't have some physical, hard camp scrimmages Trac... I'm talking about consistent, all year, hard padded practices, which, unless lovie has completely said fuck it I'm going for broke this year, he traditionally doesn't believe in.
Everyone
I would love to see the Bears go after this guy. If nothing more than an insurance police. I think he can still play and more than likely Buffalo didn't want to pay his roster bonus. After last year, you can't have too many LB's.
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/trainingcamp10/news/story?id=5436331
The only way we get him or any other free agent de, is if we have an injury at de.
The only way we're getting him is if we move the f-ing franchise to Houston. That's it. Full stop.
i'm definitely calling 11-5 this year. Cutty will cut down on the picks and both of our RB's are workhorses. DA, Hester, Knox and Bennett are going to have solid years and so will our tight ends. Watching film of Cutler throwing the ball makes me happy.
I hope..
reading this twitter shit is tough. Peppers doesn't beat Omiyale on a play and someone asks if he is past his prime? what the fuck?
Opinions are like rockatansky's Johnny, everyone has one.
I tweeted (That sounds so gay)Pisa Tinoisamoa yesterday: The fumble u forced on Michael Turner last year was Epic! Have a great camp!
He writes back: Thanks! Ready to hand out some more of those this year!
Sweeet!
Nice Joe
what's his twitter?
@pisatinoisamoa
Follow @EddieJWilliams....he writes back also
F this gee Orange Julius sheite. I just got THE new nickname:
How about Herman Munster? or just Herman for short..
http://goofuponastar.com/s/140.jpg
Not a fan of tweets. There's no substitute for reporting. Like this skjensen guy sending out answer tweets to questions we can't see - some of them make no sense. And Omiyale does his job on one play in practice and suddenly Julius can't play football anymore. Give me a break. Where do they get these guys?
yea seriously. Omigod needs to keep it up; if he can stop JP, he can stop anybody.
Not to be a smelly fish in the lunch line but, if Peppers doesn't meet his billing this year, forget about it...
"Wow factor: Defensive end Julius Peppers delivered the play of the day in the morning practice. Identifying a screen pass, the 6-7, 283-pounder retreated from the line of scrimmage, tipped Jay Cutler
Maybe we could switch him for Carlos Boozer.
Suckatanzky's ready for camp
http://i994.photobucket.com/albums/af70/c2o/108403565801119748supersize.jpg
I like Curry too MB, but no. I think we need to see him perform first and like another poster said, he needs to earn a nickname.
Yep!
Mike Tice says Lance Louis is competing with Roberto Garza for the starting right guard spot
For you Irish. For you.
Josh Beekman was playing Center that night.. Correct?
If Irish predicts this starting O-line he should win a free What would Aromashodu? Tshirt lol
This dude looks ready for camp.

I finally gave in gents. After calling Direct TV and canceling Sunday ticket twice because they kept trying to bill me, I finally said to heck with it and payed for it the third time they auto billed me. I had originally decided to boycott it this year because of the sorry bill of goods I received last year but I figured this blog needed more knowledgeable commentary and I didn't want you guys to go the whole season with out my first hand skill and knowledge of the game.
Hahahahaha... I'm considering it too Trac. Time Warner Cable can't get it done, so I'm left wanting.
DirecTV sucks.
Better than watching pixilated, pirated feeds that just go black without any notice GP.
This Williams dude sounds like he has a chip on his shoulder. Wa wa wa wa............ I want my mommy.
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/07/31/pat-williams-welcomes-toby-gerhart-to-the-nfl/
Maybe Farve will have a T-shirt that says "These be grown mans out here"
I like it.
Too bad Pat and Cedrunk don't play on the same team.
We will definitely find out this year if the Father Flanagan approach will work out with all the misfits Cincy took under their wing MB. I personally don't think it will. It takes Character and Discipline to reach the top of the mountain in this league. One or two smelly diapers is one thing, but when you run out of fingers counting the problem children on the roster, I don't see how they will be able to pull it off.
So I watched an interview of Bengal
We had a better passing team then they did. They ranked 26 in passing. The only thing they have for them is the run and defense.

ha!
This from Herm Edwards long before AH couldn't pass the tests;
"Former Jets and Chiefs coach Herm Edwards, for one, predicted this type of mess a few weeks ago when speaking at the NFL 101 event in Los Angeles.
" Jeff Fisher is a smart football coach," Edwards said, referring to the coach who allowed Haynesworth to leave the Titans. "The Titans did not want Albert Haynesworth back. There's a reason for that. Jeff Fisher didn't just wake up one day and say, `Oh, by the way, we're going to get rid of him.'
"He dealt with this guy for so many years and said, `You know what? Enough is enough. I'm tired of a guy who's a good player for about 10 games.' Doesn't play all 16
I think Larry Lied on the chicago bears page..
How did Jay Cutler look directing the Bears offense in the first training camp practice? I keep hearing about how complex the system is, but I
After that, Lovie threw Larry a fish and he caught it in his mouth and barked.
I am sorry nobody else has commented on this post GP. I thought is was a rather bright attempt at humor and captures the essence one is required to, to make a funny. Well done lad, well done.
"It's the Desmond Clark show. Another nifty catch, at least his sixth."
Boo Yah Dez! Show that girl up baby!
Dez isn't going to just roll over.. HE is a fighter.
Dez is a fighter. He isn't going to just roll over.
Exactly '85.
"Dez Clark catches another deep ball from Hanie. He won't go away!"
The putz on the Score today said that Dez actually looked the best in the TE crossing drills today - and that Martz made a big point of extending the Tight End workout as if to send some message to everyone that TEs will be a big part of the offense.
The hosts thought it was just smoke and mirrors, and let's see what the playcalling looks like in the PS games.
Interesting, never knew he'd be considered a SS, but the guys is supposedly a stud: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/427376-the-chicago-bears-preseason-preview-the-safeties
"The Bears went out and signed linebacker/safety Brian Iwuh for special teams play but could use him at the safety position if needed. He can be a decent enough backup and if they find that he needs to come in to help out when someone is injured, he might see some active time playing."
Also, the last paragraph is spot-on.
CHEWBACCA! wtf. dude shave your beard. were you the shoebomber before or after you started workin on this blog? o wait, i got one. Your face looks like a Vagina!. haha or how bout this. when jimmy will you change your name to Yuslef mohammed islam. lol haha
Football kind of snuck up on me this year. Looking forward to training camp and spending more time at this blog once again!
explain how it snuck up on you. been waiting on this since the Super Bowl kick-off
No offense but you can't follow this blog and have football "sneak up" on you.
Like.. what was your secret then.. I have been waiting since we beat the Lions to see some bear football.. jeez!!
Good lord you are a touchy group. Why I love this site. I've been a poster on here for a long time. Love football, but I also follow other sports quite regularly. Been a hectic summer, just haven't been thinking about football as much as I usually would have.
Does this not appease the football purists?
No need BD82... welcome back into the fold.
Perhaps I used the term 'sneak up' too loosely. I've pretty much followed this blog since it's inception. So, offense taken.
Hello Gentelman.
Looking forward to regular contributions on the blog again.
Jeff-
Can I also recommend Laurence Holmes be followed via twitter, I think he's in Camp also, and one of the better bears guys in town IMO.
My buddy just moved into a new house and we are feverishly setting up the new mancave viewing area for Sunday ritual.
Cant wait.
DM! Nice to have you 'back' man.
Agreed on Holmes. He was the Bears beat reporter for the score for a number of years. He knows his shit.
Agreed. Holmes was the Bears beat reporter for the score for a number of years. Knows his shit.
DAMN MEN IT IS FINALLY HERE WILL BE AT BANK OF AMERICA STADIUM OCTOBER 10 FOR PEPPERS HOMECOMING CANT FREAKIN WAIT BEAR DOWN!!!
Bedtime. Please baby jebus look after Jay and all of his bits.
''It's on a whole different level now,'' Hester said. ''I've got a swag now. This is going to be my breakout year. I'm going to shock a lot of people.''
Ok.. is it me.. or is this team talking the talk now... They better start walking the walk.
Sigh.. maybe it is just talk..
''I asked him, 'How long did it take?''' Hester said. ''He said it's at least a 2½-year process, where you feel comfortable and it's second nature.''
I blame head Coach "Pollyanna" Smith.
His sound bite on WGN sports last night was absolutely NAUSEATING.
We shall see. Injuries have plagued 2 out of the last three years in my opinion. Lovie is the 3rd most winningest coach in Bears history. Even Larry Mayer say's so.
Lest there be any doubt about that line I approriated and recently posted:
#1 Sport in America: NFL Football.
#2 Sport in America: WAITING for NFL Football to start.
Exhibit A: Last night's WGN sports cast.
The White Sox are firmly in the playoff hunt, just completed a sweep of Seattle for their ELEVENTH consecutive home win and what was the lead story in WGN's sports?
You got it, pigskin breath.
The Opening Of Bears' camp.
Case closed.
And in case anyone missed it from the last thread - somebody show this to Matt Forte and remind him what's expected of running backs by Bear fans. The man forever in Walter's shadow, Neal Anderson :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DJJ4nne-D8o&feature=related
Anderson will be forever underrated by hi misfortune of following Payton. He was definitely the best Bears running back since Walter.
This one is in the Blogfather's list in the header, but thank you, David Haugh.
http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/football/bears/ct-spt-0730-haugh-bears-chicago--20100729,0,5835919.column
Al, nice to see you fired up sir.
Agree giantly. Nice that Haugh hits the nail on the head at least once in a while.
What do you want from the man? Give the guy a chance to get one game under his belt.
Ahhhh. After MONTHS of basically DREK to talk about, football-wise, the opening of camp is like having a boil lanced!
Bears are DEFINITELY flying under the national media's radar which, I have always maintained, is "fine by me".
If the Cowboys, Patriots, Giants or Redskins, et. al., had signed Orange Julius (I hear and obey, Blogfather)it would have been celebrated as a free agent coup. The Bears sign him and it's just "desperation".
The highly touted Ravens are starting off REALLY dinged up. The rookie who took the header down 2 flights of stairs was a guy they expected to contribute. And didn't they just have to sign Flozell "The Hotel" Adams (who the Cowboys DUMPED) because an o-lineman went down?
Whiney Albert " Idon't WANNNA be a NOSE TACKLE" Haynesworth flunked Redskins his endurance test? LOL.
I don't think he flunked it.. I am sure that revenge is a factor now.
According to the 4-letter folks, he failed an endurance test.
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/trainingcamp10/news/story?id=5420094
I remeber Mike doing this to another player..almost the same way and that player either got traded or cut. Can't remember but I don't see how you lose 40 pounds and now in shape..
"...and on the 3rd day...he RESTED?"
The comical Mr. Haynesworth failed his conditioning test for a second time and today, he rested up for a 3rd attempt. THIS, I am sure, is what dan Snyder was expecting when he gave "Albert in D.C" the $100M contract.
We can only hope the Bears get a better return on their Orange Julius investment.

Welcome to the NFL, Dez Bryant! We understand you refused that slightly used set of shoulder pads for your initiation gift so instead we have this lovely HIGH ANKLE SPRAIN along with a Limp Bizkit CD.

Notice how the first thing any player says when asked about Lovie says, "he treats us well" or "He's a good guy" or "He takes care of us".
I don't give a flying fuck how nice he is to you... that's one of the main issues with the guy in my mind. He's too fucking nice, too soft. This is NFL football for christ sake, not a fucking Sunday afternoon Crockett match amounts lords.
But he always speaks well of you, MB! No doubt he's a players coach. I'm guessing this training camp will be a little more amped up than usual with so much at stake.
This really isn't addressed to you but I don't get all the venom directed at Lovie over his interaction with the media. I understand it drives the media nuts but why should it bother us? He's never going to say anything noteworthy so ... It would be nice if he would show a pulse every now and then but if we have a good year I'm fine with it. If we suck this year, then I'm not so fine with it. Oh well.
Canada, I could give a crap about how flat-line the guy is in the media's eye, or even on the sideline to be honest (although all the jumbotron jokes make me giggle). Basically, I don't believe in his coaching style or strategy at all. For me, it comes down to this:
* If you baby and pander to young millionaires, they WILL take advantage of you and underachieve
* You HAVE to have real contact in camp/practices in the NFL, otherwise your players won
I agree with ya. Here's hoping I'm right and there is way more urgency by everyone.
To say nothing an inexperienced Senator / machine politician that ended up in the White House somehow.
yep SC, I was talking purely about intelligence. There's plenty of badness to go all around in DC.
Or a Governor who is known for her tits more than her brain!
Shoutout to my namesake. I like CH:
Chris Harris: "Mike Brown taught me how to play the position. I was lucky to have a guy like that to teach me."
If Harris can just teach Major or Manning how to play the way he and Mike Brown did, Pay it forward Chris, Pay it forward.
Either you have the talent to play on Sunday's or you don't 85. It can't be taught, not at this level anyhow.
1+
I wonder what's up with Mike this season. Still with the Chiefs? He might not have a team at all. How sad.
He isn't with the Chiefs no more.
Mark Anderson article. Tell me again why we got rid of Alex?
http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/football/bears/ct-spt-0731-bears-chicago--20100730,0,3291562.story
'Since exploding onto the scene in 2006 with a 12-sack rookie season despite only one start, Anderson has only 9 1/2 sacks in 46 games with 16 starts.'
Izzy.
On the bright side, I hear Zack Bowman is on his way to 75 training camp INT's this year again.
Ok, please everyone stay healthy.
What I like about this year, is, defensively, everyone's role is pretty much well defined. We have our starting squad in place already. I think this is a good thing..
Other than, "it's the start of a new season", is there anything new yet?
Monsters of the Midway t shirt looks amazing, hope i can buy it in the online bears shop soon.
Here's a new article on an old issue.
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/427376-the-chicago-bears-preseason-preview-the-safeties
What's the over & under before Ocho and T.O are grousing about who Carson Palmer likes better?
You sick twisted freak.
You were just kidding right? It's just two attractive women Trac.
I'm a Bears fan MB. I thought we were all sick twisted freaks.
Actually I was being a smart ass. I guess when Doc said "I enjoyed it very much" I was hoping the comedic Brillianaires would get a kick out of it.
Human sacrifice, Cubs fans and White Sox fans living together...mass hysteria!!!
I'd like to referee a fight between those two. I saw where it's Victoria's Secret's line of athletic apparel. Nice.
so i was watching ATH (around the horn) today & they were talking a/b the Cutler-Martz "marriage" (am i the only one that thinks this term sounds gay as hell for a working relationship). they were doing the "buy or sell" segment on will Martz make Jay Cutler play better, and here were the responses (paraphrasing):
Adande - Sell. 26 picks is a lot, the system takes 2.5 years to learn for receivers, imagine how long it will be for QBs
Plaschke - Sell. Jay Cutler has to be the person to make Jay Cutler better. if he wants to stop throwing picks, he'll be the first person to begin the process
*very, very good point Plaschke.*
Paige - Buy. if Kitna can throw for 4,000 yds. for 2 consec. years, why won't Cutler succeed in this offense? remember, he took Kurt Warner, an Arena Football League reject, and made him an HOF QB (and made Marc Bulger a top 10 QB in the NFL)
Cowlishaw - Buy. no way he was that bad last season (lot of factors working against him). Expect big throws from him this season.
O/U set at 9 wins
Plaschke - Over 1 win
Adande - Over; defense much improved
Paige - Push
Cowlishaw - Over 1 win
looks like the media pundits are starting to look up on us!!!!! BEAR DOWN!!!!
Its that time again fellas. Time to sip on syzurp drinkity drank, find a nice mouthpeice for halftime rituals, cattle call hos and watch OUR team make the playoffs for the first time in four seasons!!! Was planning on waiting to post until I get up to Bourbanais, but that got delayed and I see others have already reported from camp.
Is Trac still boringly explaining the ways of the bible?
Is Beekman getting enough snaps at center? Olin looks like he shrunk about 2 inches and 50 pounds in the off-season. I hope he makes it through the season, but I hope were prepping Beeks just in case we need to transition mid-season. I like that Beeks has been scrapping and been getting into it with other guys. After starting his whole rook year, this guy deserves a shot THIS year somewhere-he's a good football player.
Pisa or Roach?
How can the Jags rooks have dick and balls and doughnut haircuts and Dez Bryant won't pick up any pads? I'm already rooting for this guy to get crushed going across the middle.
Did Major Wright pull his groin at practice or by banging my neighbor?
Has Harvey Unga's dad posted anymore? I put his post through a samoan translater and none of it made sense.
Tice now says 3 open spots on the line with Louis competing for Garza's job. I like how he's approaching this. You have to start Williams, but all the other openings are up for grabs based on how the group shite the bed last year.
Can we put Daniella Manning to rest on defense please? Keep him for specials.
What the hell is a wrong with Marcus Harrison? So much potential and talent, but looks to not have emotional stability. I heard Big Toe stepped up big in his absence yesterday.
I saw Richard Dent at my gym and asked him about the Bears. He thinks the Bears are going to score at will but won't be able to stop anyone-I thought that was interesting perspective.
Ready for Detwat NOW!
It's only boring to you because you want it to be that way Crown. Pretty much have to keep
Have to keep my mouth shut on Da Blog in that dept. to keep the God haters at bay Crown. Every man chooses his own way.

I'm not a god hater and to each their own Trac. Just joking man.
I heard they were really high on Iwuh GPL; its too bad. Jennings looks to be the same size as the gnome living in the blog-classic. Denver is getting real banged up w/ Moreno, Buckhalter and now Dumerville. But, hey, they still have Tebow-hahahhahhahhahaaaa.
Denver is fscked.
Maybe Tebow can line up at DE.
Maybe he comes jedi master of the wishbone formation.
I'm not mad Crown. That's just the way it is.
if you're by a cpu, you should check this out (goes on 'til 7 CST).
http://player.radio.com/player/RadioPlayer.php?version=1.1.9205&station=391
Zaidman is interviewing Cutty, Greg, and Matt (although Matt's not talking much....it's more Cutty & Greg)
Sounds like Dumerville is going to get an early vacation this year. If I'm a Denver fan, things are definitely going from bad to worse. At least they still have Tebow.

By the way, wtf is going on with the blog ? Is this groundhog day ? Where's Ned Ryerson ?

MB, could you do me a favor? I used to live in Ventura and I loved to cook a Tri-Tip on the grill. The butchers at the grocery stores here in Texas, look at me as if I have a 3rd eye when I ask them if they can get me one. Do you know what cut of meat it is?
Trac try telling them "bottom sirloin butt".....maybe theywill know it as that. If they still dont know, your screwed. May have to have em shipped in. As #16 would say LOL
Thanks Murph.
Trac, try this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tri-tip
Print it out and give it to the Neanderthal if you have to.
Here's a good Bobby Flay version to try: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/bbq-with-bobby-flay/ranch-hands-grilled-tri-tip-recipe/index.html
Thanks pal.
anytime trac.
New vid from Friday's practice at Soldier Field. I think I'm done with training camp for a while. Try this link and if not try the second one. I'm having some copyright issues. Ever since they used the first Danzig song in the opening of the movie the Hangover, the song has been restricted in the U.S.

Jeff, please take skjensen off the twitter feed. brutal.
skjensen is a skmoron
Quentin Scott should make the team. We could use a 6'3", 230lb SS. Just to hit, and hit hard.
We dont need another SS who can hit, we need a S who can COVER.
+1, but let's see what QS can do.

BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHA... Friar Tebow. Perfect. Brilliant!
I got bored and watched some of the Bengals hard knocks show. The intresting fact about them. ONLY one player on the oline came back to the same spot from the year before. If the Bengals can make the run work there then the Bears should have no problem with the O-line.
Per WGN last Saturday night, Mark Anderson's competition at defensive end is none other than one of our favorities, Israel Idonoje.
Show of hands, please. Who else thinks Izzy outplays Mr. Mark but Lovie still starts his underachieving pet?
+1
Woody Johnson (how about that name? What, was Dick Harde taken?) of the Jets said he's "nearly 100% sure" that Revis won't be suiting up in a Jets uniform this season.
That's why the NFL has no LeBrons. You think you're bigger than the game? The owners are gonna teach you.
Wow. But I find that hard to believe. Possibly their best player... and one of the NFL's... let's see how they act when they realize how much they miss him. Should be an interesting drama to watch though.
Wouldn't shock me if this was all for more Hard Knocks ratings.
Ginnie, if you're listening/reading, whatever, please, pretty please, with snow-frosted vanilla cherries on top, stop listening to Ted Phillips. SIGN DARELLE REVIS. I know it would cost a lot, I know Phillips pulls out excel spread sheets and shows you pie charts and graphs and talks like a fucking accountant - but he doesn't see the bigger picture. Send them Greg Olsen tied up in a pretty pink bow like a box of chocolates with your phone number tatooed on his face and the words "How much do you want?" underneath.
SIGN DARELLE REVIS.
Think Ginnie knows what a mortgage is ?
That would the jack of all trades..or was that Jay Cutler?
Yes, but kudos to Tebow for not WHINING about it!
Agreed Al. Good sport.
Zeke Markshausen? Really? 5'11", 185. Jebus.
Irish? Thoughts on those stats: http://nusports.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/markshausen_zeke00.html
Hi Mark. Bye Mark.
This game sucks, but it's damn nice to have football back.
Boo Yah gents, boo yah!
They didn't even play the starters that long.. what was it like three mins then put in the backups.. I want to get rid of preseason games after that.
Cowboys vs Dallas - 4 passes to TO and none to Chad. How long do you think that will last? Also, from a purely football perspective T.O does look good in a football uniform. Still will be a top 15 receiver in the league.
Top 15?? No way Johnny cakes.
Shady you are probably right but who fucking cares about anything except if it about our beloved Bearssss, i'm just bored out of my mind watching the HOF game and hoping not to see a twitter update saying one of our best players is being carted off the field.
"During a night workout last week, Cutler demonstrated the faith he
Johnny.. That has to be the most bad ass thing I have read about Jay.
Now that is a qb.
Zack Bowman walking off w/trainer. Looks like he's getting right leg looked at
at least he's walking off and not being carted off
Just watched Emmit Smith's HOF speech ... WHAT ?! How in love with himself is that fool ? Fool thinks he just won an Oscar, got made President, cured cancer and walked on the moon ! Damn! Humility son ! It's just football! Try and get those yards with Walter's QBs and receivers and O-lines. Not fit to carry Walter's Jockstrap ... what an A-hole!
He was better than Jerry Rice's speech. Jerry looked like he should have got that black sock he asked for. He stuttered, paused, and you could tell he had to read his notes the entire time.
I wouldn't mind, but he's got years to write that speech, and comes out with a stinker. No humility in either speeches either.
Rice : "I was fortunate that the guy throwing me the ball was the greatest QB of all time Joe Montana, immediately followed by another HOFer Steve Young, Roger Craig, Rathman, Bill Walsh. I was truly blessed. In 20 years my QBs went to the pro bowl 13 times and got 5 league MVP awards."
I'd respect Smith a lot more if he came out and said "Troy Aikman, Daryl Johnston, Michael Irvin and that line, how could I fail behind that?", instead he tries to give himself a BJ right there on the stage.
I hope they don't ever let Ochocinco into the HOF. He'll need his own day and require all the seating.
Matt Jones with 2 first down catches. I'm still a firm believer that a 6'6 receiver for Cutler would've worked on some level. Could have had him for a bad karaoke song
First down catches against Dallas' scrubs. C'mon Johnny have more faith in Knox and Shabba Dabba doo.
Matt Jones in drug court:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgNhacoS1Xg
Why is there a round of applause at the sentencing?
i know our guys will perform and i think Hester and DA are going to have sick years. I knew we would never put our the coin for those huge beasts but I felt that Matt Jones would come back with a renewed outlook on Football after seeing his career flash before his eyes. He signed for less than 800k. we fucking pay Rashied 1.3 million. are you telling me we couldn't take a chance on him for the salary of an account rep at IBM?
Rashied David is a football player. Maybe not a great football player, but a football player nonetheless. Matt Jones is a coke head. Why would you pay a coke head 800k?
cokeheads blow dudes on Ventura Blvd. Matt Jones is a football player that did coke. Tons of athletes and everyday people do coke because they can afford it. What is worse, drinking 500.00 bottles of Cristal mixed with Rum, smoking 500.00 worth of the dankest Cush or doing 500.00 wort of coke? And if you immediately say doing coke i'd ask why? the answer would not have any validity. we are willing to give people a 2nd chance for killing people during DUI's, raping girls at college parties, running interstate dog fighting operations, crashing the Lambo's at 4am and fleeing the scene, having 6 kids with 4 women, etc but if a 22yr old does some coke with his buddies and happens to be discovered by the police he is all of a sudden some crackhead? I did mushrooms before playing a college football game and now i am married with a kid and a solid professional life, my eye opening experience brought out the best in me. my only comment was that maybe it will be the same for Matt. Also, paying Rashied 1.3million in my book is exactly the same as paying a "cokehead" half as much.
Regardless, i like the team we have and know we will be fine.
Best of luck to Matt Jones, but if we're not going to take winning seriously by employing a (clean) vet receiver like Marshall or Owens then we don't need Jones. Let the Bengals risk/blow the second chance on this guy. He's not old enough to get his head together. He'll do the rehab charade and then fall off the wagon twice as hard.
IBM account reps make 800k/yr?
i couldn't believe it either, my client must be some kind of sales badass.
They weren't cheering a conviction. it wasn't sentencing. they were allowing him to continue with the drug treatment outpatient program on a probationary term. The court is there to help people recover through various methods, not just put them in jail.
Too bad the court can't help him recover his skills.
touche
you wanna know the funniest shit a/b that? that's called "Drug Court" and they show it on the Public Access channel in the town i'm living at now (which is the same where Jones got busted in). i've been down the exact spot where he got busted at
Brandon Marshall put us in the Superbowl. Fools like Jones don't learn lessons.
Here's what worries me about Martz :
"
Irish, we had a rookie from Abilene Christian, a 2nd year player that didn't make a catch his first year, a journeyman practice team member and a converted kick returner at WR and all of them caught over 50 balls. improvement is inevitable. Martz is like having a professor in college teaching you a subject that they live, breathe and have been successful at. Those guys were successful being taught by Ron Turner, the equivalent of Ben Stein in Ferris Bueller.
correction, DA wasn't allowed to play until the end of the season and would have caught over 50 balls.
"Turner...? Turner...? Turner...?"
Our receivers were successful last year ? All I saw was blown routes and guys lost at sea, Johnny. All while our best receiver sat on the bench. Someone who actually got schooled properly in Indy. Turner and Drake were/are disasters.
It's not hard to catch 50 passes when your QB puts it up there 515 times. somebody has to catch them. They didn't know their playbooks and now it just got twice as hard. Every play is called something new and the playbook is twice as big. Add in the fact that it's a timing offense and it just spells recipe for disaster. Dez will get it. Shabba will get it. Hester may be running his routes better now - but will he remember them ? Will he adjust on the fly as this offense requires ? Knox ? We'll see. Shabba will have a great year
He who knoweth his playbook ... his cup shall floweth over ...
They'll have to reach the season first though. Dez Bryant is gone 4-6 weeks. The Broncos look like they'll have to field their third string team at this rate.
successful may have been a strong word to use. i just think the silver lining is that with a true offensive coach actually teaching these young men how to play, what they are doing and why i think we will be even more successful than we were last year in the air.
Totally. We'd better be. I just hope Martz isn't blowing smoke up our asses with these receivers. We'll know in 5 weeks.
Apparently, the concept being used is akin to:
"Nothing succeeds like failure".
Martz converted his playbook into Goofus and Gallant cartoons. For Devin & Devin.
Baby Jay be da man.
Alex Barron be on da bench dis year. JT O' Sullivan be on da welfare.
Actually, Cutler was trying to hit Urlacher in the back of the head, Shabba dabba just so happened to catch it first.
Let's face it, that's like his dream haircut anyway ...
That's just awesome. He looks like the gnome living in the blog.
Did Lovie Smith acutally admit that Chris Harris was a mistake?
I reread that, it was a mistake for trading him in the first place. Check.
"He's very aggressive, he's big, he's strong, he's knocked people around pretty good," Tice said. "For a guy that hasn't played a lot of football, he (doesn't) show any fear."
Mike Tice talking about Lance Louis.
There won't be the tension between Forte and Taylor that simmered between Jones and Benson. After all, it was Jones who slugged Benson during a drill in practice that season to encourage the younger player to start paying attention. Benson was furious that the coaching staff let the incident go, to the point he complained bitterly to a friend in the locker room after the comeback victory over the Arizona Cardinals.
And People wonder why the we hate Benson.
Knox ruined Peanut's life on this one. He came out, matched up on him, and gave him a quick double step that rolled Tillman onto the ground. That almost felt like it was some of Bruce's input-it was a very veteran move to put on a veteran corner, and he sold it hard.
Thanks Bruce..anytime you feel like playing again.. Let us know lol
This brings me to what I think was one of the most promising plays of the night, though. Rashied Davis caught a pass coming over the center and got leveled, in a life-ruining manner, by Major Wright. It was one of those hits that just makes everybody in the crowd go "Oh DAMN", and much more physical than you're typically used to seeing in camp. But that's why they wear pads, right?
Major stepping up!
Sheed probably bounced back up and ran back to the huddle. So... damn... scrappy.
We'll see how Major shapes up when he has to tackle men.
http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/football/bears/ct-spt-0809-around-town--20100808,0,2746718.column
I knew Payton was strong..but damn..this strong?
Remember the ABC show the Superstars? Barry Sanders crushed everyone on that show, I watched him dead lift with offensive lineman. I never saw Payton on the show, but I imagine it would be the same.
Jimmy Mac talked about Payton's strength in his book "McMahon!" (don't forget the exclamation mark). Said he was the strongest guy on the team. For years I thought that meant he was benching more than Danimal and Mongo.
I'm past the age of Madden football, but I am to understand that this year's Madden 11 features 6-person multiplayer, 3 per side. QB, RB and WR are all playable by 3 people, and on defense they can rotate to any player they want.
That could bring up a new Madden team-based competition, that would really be wild - as the playbook would just be a suggestion at that point.
Cushing didn't roid, man! He was pumping iron so much, it just SEEMED like roids in the blood, man.
http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/playerbreakingnews.asp?sport=NFL&id=5206&line=177445&spln=1
Steroids are used to treat a bunch of stuff like measles, the list of ailments 'roids treats is as long as your average Bengal's rap sheet. He needs to get a more clued-in rep.
Please don't waste your time reading Peter King's weekly bullshit novel to his ego, but I did pick this out for your guys (the other bears stuff was so lame and obvious... zero insight or anything of interest):
"My goal is to be the greatest coach of all time.''
-- San Francisco coach Mike Singletary to me Wednesday.
We were in his office at the 49ers training facility, and I asked him about what was on the wall behind his desk -- a list of every Hall of Fame coach in NFL history -- and why he had it there. Basically, he has it there to remind him how far he has to go to get to his goal.
Now, you can laugh at or criticize Singletary (career record: 13-12), entering his second full season as a head coach, for an outlandish quote. Not me. What's wrong with having a goal to be the best at something and let everyone know that's what you're striving for?"
I don't know about you guys, but if we can't get the Chin next year, I would fucking LOVE to get Samurai in this MoFo man. Any fucking day of the week. I hope he has a kickass season, even though I hate the 9ers.
Sammurai Mike, Jeff Fisher, Les Frazier, Ron Rivera.
Nah, we don't want guys like THAT in coaching OUR orqan-I-zation, do we, McCaskeys?
Time for an 1960s TV reference.
As Captain Binghamton(Joe Flynn) used to say to his aide, Lt. Carpenter (Bob Hastings) when dealing with Lt.Commander Quinton McHale's(Ernest Borgnine) P.T. Boat crew:
"I could just SCREAM!"
How about this for a coaching line up Al:
HC: Da Chin or Samurai
OC & QB Coach: Jim Harbaugh (Don't think Jeff F. would take the gig)
DC & Linebackers: Chico ("He probably never should have gone.")
DBs: Either Plank or Fraiser... if we could get him
Receivers: Gault/Bruce
Oline: Tice - I like him so far, but we'll see
Did I miss anything? Oh, maybe we keep Lovie on as waterboy?
Frazier's next post is going to be head coach SOMEWHERE. But certainly NOT Chicago.
Buddy Ryan didn't give him the nickname 'Stupid' because he was smart. Lovie is Samurai-Lite in the WTF? stakes. Let's watch Mike's career unfold a little first ...
Leslie Frazier if we employ a Bear. Or Jim fucking McMahon.
Bear Nation : But he has ZERO coaching experience !
Shut up.
I'm with you MB, bring on Samurai. I've been trying to find the Samurai Mike poster I had when I was a kid with Mike decked in a Karate Kid headband with swords in each hand-he might have had a Komono too. Any of you guys seen that recently?
Great article on how the funky QB crushed NOLA during Super Bowl XX. Favorite line, "You got to teach your body whose boss!"
http://deadspin.com/5608394/how-jim-mcmahon-terrorized-new-orleans-during-super-bowl-xx
Forte looks like he's in his rook form.

Boom MB, you da mang!! I'm Samurai Mike, I knock em cold.
Niiiiiiice Crown
Oh man, I know it wasn't the Bears but last night , Im layin in bead winding down and BOOM, pre-season football is on. It was like seeing an old friend again, maybe not a good friend; well it was Dallas vs Cincy so seeing a guy from high school that you didn't ever like much but at least he is familiar. Anyway, you get my point FOOTBALL TIME MOTHERF@#KERS!
first depth chart is out:
QB - Cutty, Hanie, LeFevour
RB - Forte, Taylor, Bell, Wolfe
FB - Clark (yes you read right)
TE - Olsen, Manu, Clark, Davis
WR - Hester, Knox, DA, Bennett, Davis, Iglesias, Peterman
LT - CW
LG - Garza, Asiata
C - Kreutz, Beekman (didn't say, but i'd assume)
RG - Louis
RT - Omiyale, Shaffer, Marten
LDE - Anderson, Idonije (listed as co-starters)
LDT - Harris, Gilbert
RDT - Adams, Harrison, Toeaina
RDE - JP, Melton
WLB - Briggs, Shaw (i'd assume)
MLB - Urlacher, Hillenmeyer
SLB - Pisa, Roach (co-starters)
LCB - Bowman, Graham, Moore
SS - Manning, Payne, Steltz (co-backups)
FS - Harris, Afalava
RCB - Tillman, Jennings, Turenne
let's hope some of this changes (mainly on defense), but glad to see there's some continuity on the O side (REALLY HOPE that Johan pushes Garza out and they flip the safeties so Harris will be SS and Wright will be FS). reports out of camp are that the coaches are surprised how well Wright is playing the pass, so maybe Manning will go back to nickel-back (please LORD)
where are you and Bigsy getting this info.. the site still has no roster on it and the only ones I can find on ESPN and NFL sites all still list Omiyale as starter at LG.
Cuz from the looks of it currently Hester and Bennett will be scratched for Saturday and that would make DA a starter and on the D side Manning and Major are both nursing injuries and Steltz has been getting the bulk of the #1 reps.
I would hope we don't rush anyone back for a Saturday Preseason opener.
Did you mean Major Wright by calling him Payne?
yea the 4-ltr network site was fuckin' w/ my brain. sorry bout that
the tweets by Biggs (and process-of-elimination by what reports have been saying). now some of that might not be quite accurate in terms of back-ups, but the starters are correct).
I am looking into going to the first game. Anyone else plan on going?
I got some decent seats that I am trying to get.
If not, I will go to the Eagles and Bears game. Either way guys let me know and we will hook up.
Damn right!
I'll be there. Section 400 something. One section left or right of center (427 I think?).
You know, where the cool kids sit.
Ex. Cited.
I'll be one of the 10,000 in a white Payton jersey.
Which one Willie? The first one or the Eagles.
I am looking at section 154.
Bears v. Lions - September 12th: THE BDAY!
*******FIRST OFFICIAL DEPTH CHART*******

Lovie Smith said Zack Bowman is nursing a knee injury
not good
Sigh.
Ok, so I have a confession
has to be Toub.. Who else wants him?
Or else Bennett is sucking. He sat on the sideline for a year because he couldn't get with the playbook remember.
Bears@Chargers replay is on NFL Network Saturday at Midnight.
http://www.nfl.com/nflnetwork/networkschedule?selectedMonth=August&field=selectedDate&selectedDate=08%2F14%2F2010
OK, class, here's my question:
How many series do you play your starting offense in preseason game one considering you are breaking in a brand new offense and a mightily revamped offensive line?
I know this is a little more than self-serving because I'm going to be there, but is 3 quarters too long?
LOL, MB!
Psh.. they might play the whole first quarter..maybe.
I doubt they'll play more than 3-4 series '85.
which is BULLSHIT
I dunno, B85...I was at the Bears/Broncos preseason game last year and let me tell ya...after a couple of series of watching our starters, I was thrilled to see Cutler and Forte head to the bench. I did NOT want to see them get tattooed in a meaningless game and lose one of them for the season. I think, in person, the preseason games are still great if it's a team that you follow religiously. It's just tough to suffer through watching the 3rd stringers on someone else's team.
They shouldn't be playing at all. Use it as a competition for the backups and to blood them.
Or at least don't bring out the first string until the 4th qtr when the 'tards are on the field for the other team. And max protection with ninja backs for Cutler's two drives, a minefield around the pocket and sharpshooters on the roof. Prussic acid in all san diego waterbottles and serious threats made to their families ...
In Jay we trust. He is Kundun. Give him more protection than michelle obama. Put the guy in a plastic bubble and never let him out.
Pessimist that I am, after all the camp propaganda to date I just expect to see our offense come out and look like they had just been introduced to each other in the tunnel.
THAT was funny. Great visual.
"Hi, I'm Jay Cutler, nice to meet you... uhhhhh....? Anyway, you ready to do this?"
I bet that is what Big Ben said.
ZING! Well done '85
POWZA!
It would explain why he was actually getting laid.
I bet he didn't say anything, and just, y'know, raped her.
BTW, that replay time is Midnight, CDT. A much more convenient 10pm out here in the wild west.
i was just a/b to ask that. will be recording....
Is that the full game or the hour long review thing?
According to my DVR, it's the whole thing.
Seeing Hattie's name behind Urlacher's makes my penis shrivel up and my testicles retract.
Why isn't Darelle Revis listed as starting corner ? Oh, we haven't signed him yet ? Why haven't we signed him ? 15 million a year is a problem when you're a billion dollar organisation in the second largest market in the USA because ... ?
And Olsen doesn't get paid enough to be first string TE. Ho for show. You can be guaranteed Manu is #1 when he's fit. Y'know, when we need a man.
Bear Nation : Leave him alone Irish !
No.
Bear Nation : And stop bringing up Brandon Marshall!! Let it go !
Never.
Payne ? Didn't we trade him to Carolina ?
Kevin Payne is in St. Louis, sorry. Either way wherever that list is from it's suspect methinks.
Oh, I definitely should scroll down more often ...
I know. You go from Brad Biggs one of the best in the business and you replace him with this clown? At least with Biggs you know you could hang up on the guy.... Jeff? You there? Hello?
This just in... Shanny the Tranny likes Sexy Rexy to backup
http://miasmaticreview.mu.nu/mt-static/images/Oh%20Sexy%20Rexy!.JPG
http://voices.washingtonpost.com/redskinsinsider/quarterbacks/grossman-out-front-in-backup-q.html
GP..Where do you get these hillarious pictures at ?
I am glad Rex isn't our qb no more.
Are Iglesias and Rashied both gonna make the team? I want the scrapper that just won't go away. Iglesias looks like another Earl Bennett to me, except he can't ever stay healthy and doesn't have the college connection w/ Jay. Sheed has been supposedly stepping up at camp. Out of all our recievers, I trust Sheed to catch a ball in the middle even if it means he gets his head tore off. He is fearless in that sense and can open the outsides for our speed demons. I know he had the dropsies last year, but I have a good feelin about him.
Adewale Ogunleye should come back to the Bear's. Come on Lovie, you can't believe that Anderson or Wooten is better than Adewale.
Crown! Welcome back my man.
Go easy on Trac, he's a good man and a little personal belief every once in a while won't hurt us... in fact, it starts some interesting conversations. My $.02 anyway.
Now for Business:
- Beeks
- Pisa until he gets hurt, then roach
- Guy's a fucking cancer already, great start asshole - crush him over the middle!
- Banging the chick next door
- That was Max or #16
- Agree
- Yes please
- FQ?
- Interesting. Fucking Dent! Did you get him to sign your jockstrap?
Nice to have you back Crown. Out.
Chris Harris is like the top in the 1800 Tequila commercial on the other bottle. What can he do? Nuthin'. Thanks for that you stupid Soprano prick.
Jamar Williams is also out of camp with a pulled hammy, but this just doesn't pass the sniff test. We're gonna end up with Alfalfa and Anti-Plank out there, I just know it.
Is anyone else going through a heat wave? In TN, the roof's are catching on fire.
I don't know much about Golbal warming but damn..it's awfully warm
I was in Texas yesterday, flew back last night. When I walked out to my rental car (which was white, with tan cloth interior) - I could barely touch it. It would scald your hand. It was 109F. It was stupid hot.
Since he started his account, OchoCinco has tweeted 19,000 times. That number is not made up. 19k! That's what the maid who cleans his house makes a year.
Most of these tweets recently are shout-outs to T.O. OC refers to them as 'Batman and Robin' and 'Siskel and Ebert'. I guess T.O gets to be Roger there.
My favorite though, is "TO and Ochofunkel!" #16 LOL right there.
Looks like Frank Omiyale is solidified at right tackle. Looks like the receiver rundown is Knox, Hester, Aroma, Bennett...with Rash making a big play for the fifth slot. I don't think that fifth receiver slot is going to matter much, with Greg Olsen most likely lining up outside week-to-week.
Bennett and Iglasias better have brought the American Tourister. Because they are going packing.
Olsen in the slot in the heavy formation. Freddie Barnes is the darkhorse #2 slot along with the scrapper.
What did I say fucking 4 months ago? DBB Faithful, I'm looking for a little self-indulgent confirmation here.
I said (paraphrasing): Olsen is not a fucking TE, he
Rome's take on Narcissus is pretty funny. I'm no clone, but every once in awhile the guy gets it right and talks straight:

Not a huge fan of Rome but that's 100% on target. Favre sucks balls but he's a master manipulator. Nothing like doing a little crying and lying for another $7 mil.
about mr. harrison:
talked to my frat brother today (he played w/ "Ocean" in college football on the d-line); said that he always puked in practice and shit (not b/c of lack of talent, but that's just the way he does). he's been watching MH his career and expects him to break out this season (just like he did his junior year). if i talk to him sometime during the season, i'll let y'all know.
Great to have you back Crown. I miss your old pic.

Camp note you may have missed:
'linebacker Brian Iwuh went down hard on the field and stayed down for a significant amount of time. He was taken off the field on a cart'
Heading to the 3pm practice today. I'll throw the video up on youtube tonight.
Nice joe! look at you...
Anything for Da Blog and the best Bears fans in the world.
It's a shame #16 isn't here, he'd tear up.
Stop it GP, stop it.
Oh snap:
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/08/05/rumors-swirl-that-louis-delmas-needs-surgery-to-repair-groin-injury/
He was the only NFL grade player they had in the Lions secondary.
Opening game should be great, a virtual Martz track meet. I say we put up 45 or more.
I think my prediction from a couple of threads ago GP was Bears 42, Lions 10.
It will let us know if Bowman is really taking on the mantle of our shut-down corner or not.
If our secondary has improved, I will believe that score Trac. The Lions were able to keep up with us last year because of Matt being able to pass everywhere.
Doc, I was going to tell you I am with you brother... and then whip out (eeeexcuuuuse me while I whip this out) the whole, oh wait... actually, I'm going to watch our boys beat the chargers in a couple days. But that would be a sadistic thing to do to our favorite mathematician.
Oh, shit... did I say all that out loud? ZING!
ha! got it.

What do you guys think?
http://www.ticketnetwork.com/tix/chicago-bears-vs-detroit-lions-09-12-2010-tickets-1350464.aspx
Section 154
Advice guys.. Worth the price of 228 per ticket?
I didn't mean to steal your thunder MB. Nice seats if you can get them. The site I had found my tickets had some good seats for that preseason game too.
No worries '85. No thunder to steal my man.
From where I'm sitting Artoo, I would agree to having a Mangina operation ... and have my testes sewn into my earlobes for those tickets. It's all relative I guess.
Ouch?
Irish, How far are you from Chicago?
Not trying to be crazy or anything just curious because I was thinking most of us fan's on this blog are from another state or country.
About 8520 miles Artoo. Give or take. 85 clicks west of Bangkok.
Saw the Bears play the Steelers in Dublin back in the day, but my life will not be complete until I have been to Bear Mecca.
Oh, and go to bed, Artoo. Jebus. Are you enrolled in college? Are you just taking drugs and having a good time ? Damn.
School doesn't start for another 20 days lol and Damn, your a long ways off.
Irish you have to make it the Chi so I can have a beer or 37 with you. Not even at the preseason yet, and your in midseason form.
"From where I'm sitting Artoo, I would agree to having a Mangina operation ... and have my testes sewn into my earlobes for those tickets"
Prove it
At least then I could use my nads for something good Coach. Right now they're just sexy decorations.
On emphasis of red-zone production: "It's real good. This offense is designed to kill the red zone. When we get down in the red zone, coach [Mike] Martz always puts pressure on us that we need to score 80 percent of the time down in the red zone. That alone right there speaks for his expectations for us and we have to do the same for ourselves."
Just 80%? Are you kidding me? How bout 100% that should be your goal.
# DE: Anderson and Idonije
# DT: Harris, Adams
# FS: Harris (Cobackups: Bullocks/Wright)
# SS: Manning (Backup: Steltz)
# SLB: Co-Starters: Roach, Tinoisamoa
# MLB: Brian Urlacher
# WLB: Lance Briggs
Staying healthy, we have a pretty rockin' defense. Tommie is indeed back by all accounts. Lac is sound and hungry. Manning must have learned something by now ... but he's faster than Harris so why isn't he at FS ?
So ...
We only have our receivers to worry about, although that's a pretty major worry in a passing offense ...and then they list Dez as the H-back. Does that mean they're not carrying any full-backs ? Tofu and Unga are gone ? Would they jettison the Samoan sandwich just to keep Dez on the roster ?
The sangwich is still on the chart Irish... and yes, I would jettison the sangwich in a heartbeat to keep dez. Those two guys are going to get in a real game twice... collectively... if they're lucky.
If Clark can learn to lead block into the hole, he beats any Hawaiian punch the Samoan sangwich can bring. Besides, Unga Bunga is already hurt. Just don't get anyone else preggers unga.
I have a feeling we're going to see alot of H-back formations with Dezilu Productions and Olsen.
Chris Harris' agent made big offseason noise about Harris playing SS and only SS. Manning is nickel back, all the way. Major Payne is odds-on to be the free with Alfalfa backing him up. Harris and Steltz will fight it out for strong.
Then why is Harris in at FS now ? Lovie has always been adamant that Manning is the SS. Agents don't pick the team. Doesn't make too much sense to put Harris in at SS when we don't have a guy responsible enough for FS. We have a bunch of SSs ...
Get used to this set, with Dez as H-back, Man-of-moolah and Kellen Davis at the true TE spots.
http://images.wikia.com/openserving/sports/images/d/d5/NextGenPassPlay.jpg
Forte and Taylor will swing out alot, and we will screen screen screen. Big Lance Louis is a rumblin and stumblin on the pull-out
Unfortunately Olsen will get Davis' looks because he's Angelo's bum-chum first round alumni golden girl.
Sometimes Larry the Tool performs actual journalism, even when he doesn't mean to. What I read in this article?
http://www.chicagobears.com/news/NewsStory.asp?story_id=6946
Our safeties suck. That's what I read.
And what are they seeing in Omelette ? Seriously. How does a guy like Omelette beat out Kevin Shaeffer for RT? He's had two games experience at LT and sucked at Guard.
KS :
===
2008 : Started and played in 15 games at RT for the Browns... Helped block for a 1,000-yard rusher (Jamal Lewis)... Committed just one penalty throughout the season. GAMES PLAYED-STARTED: 15-15
2007 : Began training camp at LT but moved to RT and started all 16 games there... Part of offensive line that allowed only 19 sacks all season, which tied for third fewest in the NFL... Part of an offensive unit ranked eighth in the NFL with 25.1 points per game... Helped block for a 1,000-yard blocker (Jamal Lewis, 1,304 yards)... Member of O-line that protected Derek Anderson who threw for 3,787 yards.
Should apparently not start because we have *this* guy ahead of him :
Omelette:
=======
Atlanta Falcons:
As a rookie in 2005, Omiyale was inactive for all 16 regular season games for the Falcons. In 2006, he made his first NFL appearance for the Falcons in a game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on October 22, 2006. He was placed on waivers by the Falcons on September 1, 2007.
Carolina Panthers :
On September 2, 2007, Omiyale was claimed off waivers by the Carolina Panthers. However, he was inactive for all 16 regular season games for the Panthers in 2007.
On October 5, 2008, Omiyale made his first NFL regular season start, replacing the injured left tackle Jordan Gross who was out with a concussion.
Chicago Bears:
Played like a wanker at LG all season.
Summation :
Why is a guy that sucks playing guard, has no experience whatsoever playing RT, be ahead of a guy who has played well in over 30 NFL games at the position in question ?
Answers on a postcard please to LDL (in large multi-colored crayon) ....
I'm with you Irish. Thing is, Tice seems like a no bullshit, no politics, play the best guy at the spot... so that means that either Omlete is better than Shaffer (for reals), or that lovie is forcing his hand. Let's see how it all shakes out.
Tice already blatantly said Shaeffer graded out better than everybody bar Kreutz, so methinks it's Lovie/Angelo playing "we didn't make a mistake hiring this guy" again. Interesting to see if Lovie will ultimately over-rule the guy he brought in to fix the line ...
It's chess. OMG < Shaeffer at RT, but Shaeffer can backup wither tackle and play OG in a pinch. He's smart and versatile.
OMG needs to play his natural position or suck. So they play him at RT, which is the lesser of all evils.
Had they not listened to Marinelli, mister fucking 0 and 16, and not went and got Gaines Adams, they woulda had a real guard in the 2nd round, and then OMG could have been shown the door.
Once again, Lovie Smith, clueless personnel evlauator strikes again!

"If Tommie Harris returns to form..." I will be STUNNED.
New headers but leftover posts? Am I missing something?
Tommie Harris hasn't been in form since 2005. It's been so long, I don't remember what his form looks like.
I second that emotion.
He's impressed people at camp. One of the top tewo guys by all accounts. Tommie will definitely be better than last year, which makes our line awesome in my book.
he's trying to see how many posts we all can get on here for the duration of camp.
I have nothing to add to camp practices. Just leaving the Twitter things up and weighing in on bits and pieces until the first game is played, Saturday night.
#16! Where are you????

I usually go back to some older post, and if you look at some the older most recent ones..he comments after we have gone on to a new one.
Oh my God, you are right.
I even see now that he got grizzly on me for using ellipses (AKA dot dot dot).
#16, come back!
El Oh El.
Yeah, me too Willie. He didn't know what ellipses were, thought we were doing three full stops for no reason or something. That deserves an automatic face-fuck. Plus the fact that he's only posting on dead threads indicates a deep fear of confrontation - probable 40 year old virgin with an over-bearing father. Cyberstalker with borderline personality. I still think it's Noah. Enjoy this when you read it two weeks from now dot dot dot
"skjensen: My favorite feature of the Droid X is the 3G Mobile Hot Spot, which enables me to hook up wireless network from anywhere
skjensen: Thank goodness for my Verizon Droid X. It's bailed me out several times already in Bourbonnais, where AT&T service is spotty, at best..."
Really? Really?
He did point out something good today. Chargers are down to there 5 string left tackle.. Umm Peppers has to be getting hungry.
Apparently the "S" in "skjensen" stands for "Shill".
Either that or "Shameless".
Funny story about that guy. At training camp he would be standing right in front of the crowd blocking the view. He was wearing a yellow shirt that day and to make matters worse, the guys like 6'4. So the fans got pissed and started heckling him. "Hey down in front" and "Hey Big Bird sitdown". Jensen finally got pissed and yelled back "you can ask nicely". Then a fan yells "Shut-up before I break your beak'. Hahaha, some funny ass shit.
THAT shit is funny Joe. I would love to be there to heckle him myself. Jebus, the guy is a machinegun of uselessness.
402! RT @Jay_Glazer: Just arrived in good ol bourbonnais, ill. for bears training camp. This is def. one of my darkhorse teams
and Jay knows what the hell he's talking about (one of the few FOX reporters PERIOD to listen to). BEAR DOWN boys and girlies!!!!
A 6'4 Stuart Smalley, eh ?
401! I think that is how many millions that Suh was guaranteed by the Lions.

Skank Jensen got a free phone. What a #$%@ whore. Please Jeff, for the love of God, erase him from our lives. He's a traffic accident.
Are you fucking kidding me.. Nathan Vasher decides to play good football now?
Chargers head coach Norv Turner: "Nathan Vasher has been outstanding." http://bit.ly/bhUEBJ
B85 "A ropa dope" just to piss in LDL's Wheaties..hahahahahahaha! and to show how pathetic our management is to let players go and get to the Bears for letting his brother go.....What a joke!!
Afalava is buried at fourth string FS??
What in the hell did Josh Bullocks do to earn his way out of purgatory? He was atrocious last year. Oh well, given our luck at the safety spots, Volcano will be starting due to injuries by week 4.
That's right! Volcano. Where did this kid disappear to? I'll give it until week 8 before we see him erupt.
Vasher!!!! Damn you for losing your confidence and apparently switching legs with a 60 year old man only to find your confidence and legs again after you leave us. If he does really well I can only say WHAT. THE. FOCK.
Of coarse he is, all ex Bears do.

skjensen @laveesh What do you mean? I've blasted so many Tweets, I'm not sure what you're asking about. LOL 4 hours ago reply
- Our point exactly, doosh. Our point exactly.
skjensen @Dave_Schwartz I think Chester will be a worthwhile fantasy pickup. He'll definitely get chances to play; they didn't pay him $ to sit
- Y'think ? Inform the media - Chester Taylor will be playing football this year. Jebus.
skjensen Rashied Davis listed as the backup to Johnny Knox. Then, it's Earl Bennett and Greg Mathews. Iglesias third-string behind Devins
- Uhhh .... which makes Johnny Knox our fourth string receiver, at best ? M'kay ....
ZachZaidman Chargers head coach Norv Turner: "Nathan Vasher has been outstanding." http://bit.ly/bhUEBJ
- Quelle surprise. Pro-bowler leaves Bears and looks like a pro-bowler again. Bring me the heads of Jon Hoke and Daryl Drake. How is Rod Woodson coaching up the DBS of his mortal enemy, the Bengals ? Why can't we pick up the phone for HOFers at every position? Why are our coaches (other than Tice) all people who had no success playing the game? Getting Bruce in was a good idea though. So probably not Angelo's idea.
How does that work ? In order to get people to the superbowl, you get them coached up by people who couldn't hack it at the top level ... because .... ? And Jerry Angelo was hired because ... ? He came from a team that only won a superbowl *after* he left. Two years after he left. Is there a scenario where Lovie keeps his job next year, but we lose the POS that pretends to be a GM ?
On one hand, this makes Lovie look like the shit decision maker that he is.
On the other hand, that is Norv Turner speaking. We'll see how much PT vasher really gets...
Maybe Vasher got his Rock jock taken care of...
True. But you'd know what it was half FULL OF.
Doc, i think part of the problem is that you are two damn smart for your own good. Your mind is always moving. You used the word "acquiesced" in a sentence...on a Bears blog. Take me for example. I work in finance, figure out crazy solutions to problems all day long, can hold my own during a drunken policy debate at a family bbq, love plays and opera and shit like that but when it comes to the Bears I don't have to burden myself with those deep thoughts. I can just open the fridge, pour myself some Bears Drank and float away into the abyss thinking about Pisa tearing someones arm off or Cutler having a 400 yard game (which will happen this year). I don't want to think about the acutal nit and grit of the NFL. On any given play any guy out there could end his career or possibly his life as he knows it. Like you said, it the sick, twisted and heroic part of this great game. I commmand you to McGyver some kind of apple bong right now and place into it the crazy ass Cheeb that i know your crazy buddy that works at the NSA can get for you. I know you have a friend that does some crazy shit like that. Once you have placed it in, take it down hard, the way Peppers will take down Rodgers or that poor little kid Stafford.
ha! i spelled "too" wrong and Doc used "acquiesced". I like to eat paste.
Hee hee
Ralphy!
"I failed English ? That's unpossible !"
Doc, I run this site and love the Bears but I just don't give a shit about camp practices. I never have. The preseason is fun but ultimately the only thing that matters is staying healthy because the preseason never translates to the regular season.
'85 Bears lost every pre-season game.
0-16 Detroit Lions WON every pre-season game.
1-3 that pre season GPL
ZachZaidman Answer decides the season RT @FQD1911: @ZachZaidman do you think this 're-vamped' Bears line can give Cutler time to pick defenses apart?
FQ!!!!! On it man. Although he seems to be answering questions with questions... the easy way out.
Ok, can anyone tell me how to read that twitter bs? It's like trying to read a Chinese handbook.
I agree.. Do we have to click on whoever asked the question or what?
If there is a RT in the tweet that is a return tweet. The question is after the answer. Hope that makes sense. Thanks for the Bible reference. You'll be shocked to know I liked the movie The Book of Eli (although all the bible references were a bit much). Also liked The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. You have to go into set up and change it over to dubbed English (unless you understand Swedish or like subtitles). One of the best movies I've seen in a while.
I liked the Book of Eli. Had almost checked out the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo but never got around to it. I love the old Martial Arts movies. The 7 Samurai was great movie, one of my all time favorites.
Maybe we can sign this QB?

Let's draft #47 now
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJp-sg5vJa0&p=6692AED2622C4C52&index=19&playnext=4
I guess the Colt's either suck or have no 2nd or 3rd stringers that can play.
Our Bears beat writers are such fags. Why do we have to create fucking controversey like we live in a reality show. you don't see the Saints pissing and moaning about Sean Fucking Canfield and Chase Daniel as their backups. Almost wishing that the starting QB will go down just to say i told you so. Holy shit, if i hear one more person bitch and moan because we didn't sign Todd Collins or a fucking football color commentator i'm going to move to Green Bay. If a team's starting Qb goes down you don't go to the playoffs simple as that. You can have all the Tavaris Jacksons and Sage Rosenfels you want it won't fucking matter. The Bears are playoffs or bust this year so who fucking cares if we have a joke veteran as a backup or a joke rookie as a backup. This question is directed at you Haugh, Jensen, or whoever the fuck else is acting like the is Meet the Kardashians.
Great idea Johnny! Let's work on the script. Meet the Kardashians would be biiiig money at the box office.
Oh, and hey Big Bird... sit the fuck down!!!
You know... they say teams whoever sleeps with the Kardashians sisters usually get some kind of championship.
Anyone on our team willing to sleep with sluts? Think Ponyboy could do it? Take one for the ole team?
Greatest grade school running back ever...

This has to be my fav post of the year lol
http://blogs.suntimes.com/bears/2010/08/knox_autographs_his_own_helmet.html
Pretty funny
See? Our receivers are @#$% dumb.
Troy Aikman was giving Cutler props on the NEvATL game. Ripped on Hester saying that Randy Moss and Jerry Rice didn't come into the NFL and suddenly decide to play WR on a whim. They honed their skills over ... y'know ... their whole lives.
I heartily agree, Troy. How sweet it would be if he was doing what he does best on ST? And then we could leave Marshall, Shabba and Knox to .... oh wait ....
thought this was VERY interesting:
RT @BearReport: According to the Chicago Tribune, QB Jay Cutler completed 68 percent of his passes with 10 INTs in training camp during 7-on-7 and 11-on-11.
23 practices in all and only 10 picks? hmmm....sounds like Jay is cleaning up nuances in his game ^_^
and/or our DBs are total dogshit.
...but I like your positive outlook more than the probably truth FQ.
In all seriousness 7-7s are weighted heavily in favor of the offense. Used to love playing in the summer league back in the day, but the QB can just sit there and wait till he has a clear shot. 11-11s with contact is a different thing, except that Jay knows he wouldn
i see what you mean, but you know Martz has been putting a strain on him to get the ball out. QBs have to have a clock in their head (and knowing Martz, he'd probably say "you took too long...that's a sack"). it shows that Cutler is committed to keeping the ball on the O's side.
another argument (and 1 that urlacher has said) is this O will be the most complicated it sees all year. if you practice against a complicated offense in practice, everything else seems like cake (all the shifts, movement, different combos, etc). i agree w/ the "wait-and-see" approach, but damn that's encouraging
I'm with you FQ... just hope things start coming together. I've talked to a lot of chargers fans since the game and they're all really fired up about what they saw. I have to agree with them that they should be excited. The chargers just looked very sharp on all sides of the ball. You could just tell they are a really strong team and they are going to have a strong year
there's stuff to build on, but if you don't have ANYTHING to fix in the pre-season, you have problems. they went to quick passing to neutralize JP (that shit won't happen all year), first Charger possession was a 3 & out, and the O-Line gave Cutty time to operate. plenty to look forward to, but can't look for BIG shit....just the pre-season MB
With questions on the time-line of his return from an ankle scoping, it's possible that Green Bay Packers safety Atari Bigby could find himself on the reserve/physically unable to perform list to start the 2010 season, according to Greg Bedard of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Such a designation would render him ineligible for the first six games of the regular season.
Should that be the decision, rookie Morgan Burnett will continue to fill in.
HOOOOOOOOOLLLLLY SHIIIIIIIIIT!!!!!!! that is HUGE!!!!! so let's recap:
1) Detroit - possibly no Delmas (or at the very least, he's going to be nicked up come the opener)
2) Dallas - O-Line injury problems
3) Green Bay - no Atari Bigby (and haven't been hearing much about Morgan Burnett).
if we can get 2-1 (or even 3-0) in that stretch, would be off to a NICE start (b/c the next 3 games after that: Giants, Panthers, and Seahawks, will give the boys time to lick any injury wounds).
*sorry for the spamming in advance*
Steroids are ruining sports.
also, another nugget for Wk. 1 (per ESPN Insider):
Although there's potential for improvement for the 2010 Detroit Lions, one lynchpin to that success is safety Louis Delmas. For example, one might say, "There are massive issues with the cornerbacks, but at least Louis Delmas is back there." Well, as it turns out, he might not be, if one were to interpret recent reports a certain way.
As ESPN NFC North blogger Kevin Seifert describes, there wasn't much cause for alarm earlier this offseason, but that has changed over the past two weeks. Delmas has yet to go through back-to-back practices, and it's uncertain whether he'll be good to go when the regular season begins, although that is, technically, the plan. A very important situation to monitor over the next three weeks.
bodes very very well for the hometown boys.
The Packers also have a safety problem.
We have a safety problem
I disagree with Waffle, and wrote an open letter to Jerry to say so:
Dear Jerry,
I know you don't want to hear from DBB, but you should, so listen up anyway. Because unlike your front office, we have collective Bears knowledge that surpasses most, if not all, the beat writers and Big Bird bloggers that sat around Bourbounais in the 100 degree sun.
Jerry, pal, I heard you balked at a $150k signing bonus for Todd Collins. Haugh has been taking you to task for that call. Fuck Haugh, I say good decision. Collins is 38 years old, he'll probably use all that money on Ben Gay, Viagra and hookers. The old fart. His brother Tom is named after a shitty stiff drink, how fucked up is that? If, god help us, Cutty gets a Eli Manning moment and his helmet comes off or Suh sits on his head and it pops open like a zit, and there's blood and terror everywhere, we don't want the announcer saying "now entering, #11, Todd Collins" and the collective Soldier Field crowd headed for the exits. You don't want that. Major Daley doesn't want that. Ginny would start to cry and ask why everybody was leaving her house, and then ask you to call president Eisenhower and do something. It would be bad all around.
No, Jer - what you want is Sage Rosenfelds. Started 12 games, solid guy, wants to get far away from Red McCombs and his traveling geriatric circus. And it's gonna cost more than $150k. Maybe Peppers hasn't cashed his check yet. We can hope. We know you drafted La Favor as some sort of double dog dare or something, we know you didn't mean that one. Maybe the kid reminds you of your son, or it was part of some United Way charity event or something. You did your job, you brought the kid in and showed him what a real NFL team looks like. It was sweet. Now break his fucking heart and shatter the little pukes dreams and send him the hell home. Because it's time for the man's game to start, and we need some insurance against Cutty buying the farm. And not, like, actually purchasing agricultural land, it's a metaphor. Look it up.
because with the Frank the Omlette and right tackle, and Kreutz and Garza looking like they'd struggle to push a baby carriage up a hill, if I was Jay Cutler I'd get my living will in order. If he lasts 8 games, it's a miracle and the stars have aligned for you Jerry. Get somebody else in a uniform that will make us continue to watch if the unthinkable but somehow seemingly inevitable happens to Jay. Otherwise, we will probably all tune out, I'd be shocked if Soldier Field sells out, even if you distributed Ditka bobbleheads, and you and Lovir and even your boss big Teddy, are going to get the stick from Mike McCaskey. Ok, I wasn't serious. Mike couldn't bring a stick to a helpless kitten. You'll get a fruit basket and a golden parachute and well wishes, but either way you are out the door and can start looking for principal openings at underprivileged schools, because that's the closest you'll get to football again.
Do the right thing Jer. The favor has been paid. Mister Haney your golden child ain't comin home, the poor kid's shoulder might be shot and his decision making was more Craig Krenzel than Joe Montana anyway. Go get the Sage, and it will be you who looks wise.
Do it not for us, Jer. Do you it for you.
Pepper's might not have cashed his check yet? Fucking hillarious. Wow
Brilliant! Take out the swearing and send it to Larry.
Hey Trac... and you're worried about Mohawks??: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wH1tTlq5-Qk
Holy shit, what the fuck is wrong with people?!?! What makes you want to disfigure yourself like that
I know MB, I always try to give my kids a heads up on that kinda stuff. Very Sad indeed.
Re: The Mohawk thing. My comments about that were definitely tongue in cheek. Just thought it humorous that they would pick Mohawks to conjure up the Monsters of the Midway. Would have much rather seen them spend 5 minutes staked to an ant mound while JA tickles them with an Eagle Feather.
I likey your moxi GP, I really do. Just one problem though. Rosenstiff is not on the chopping block. Tavaris is. You might want to edit your open letter so Jerry doesn't dismiss it with a cursory glance. Just sayin.
nope...GP's right. rosenwhatever is on the chopping block (although not publicly):
per 4-letter "insider" shit,
"In the aftermath of the seemingly made-for-TV Brett Favre return on Tuesday, forward-thinking folks are wondering if Sage Rosenfels now finds himself on the trading block. Prior to Favre's official return, a trade was very unlikely, as a backup to Tarvaris Jackson was needed, and Joe Webb has looked lost in his first NFL preseason.
But given the shaky state of other team's backup situations -- as summarized by Don Banks of Sports Illustrated -- the Vikes have a nice trading chip in Rosenfels if they feel secure in having TJax as the backup to No. 4.
There's been no indications yet that the Vikes are putting the feelers out on moving Sage, but it's a move that would make sense if they can fill a hole elsewhere or pick up a draft pick for next April."
I am from the other camp FQ. Favre may not even be ready for prime time come week 1. Look to see what the other hand does FQ. Teams have a tendency to use a player sparingly when they want to trade him for obvious reasons. If Jackson see's little or not action for two weeks in a row then TJ's on the block.
how does that make sense if you don't know what you're trading for? highly doubt a team will trade for a player they don't see on the field.
There is no doubt that Rosenfels is an improvement over PEW and Hanie but are you going to be happier with a 8-8 record or 9-7 over 6-10 or 7-9? My point was that our window is closing with some of our players and a massvie rebuilding project is on the horizon so getting a veteran backup that can't take us to the playoffs doesn't bother me as much as having a shitty rookie out there at this point. I do like to see the Bears win or at least play well so in that regard i would like to see someone semi capable back there. Cutler is a tank anyway and will never get hurt. he will never die either and will continue to bang slutty girls from Wrigleyville well into his late 30's and possibly early 40's. REPEAT AFTER ME: CUTLER WILL NEVER DIE!!!
BEAR DOWN, and pray for no injuries on Saturday
This makes several teams in need of a solid TE now. Hmmmm......I wonder?
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/08/20/nfl-suspends-bills-tight-end-shawn-nelson/
What the hell do the Bills have that we want? An injured Marshawn Lynch? I'll keep Kahlid bell and call it a day thank you.
A draft pick? The Bills may be picking in the top 3 spot in the draft next year. A third or fourth rounder would be valuable.
Yeah, ok. A high 3rd rounder for Goldilocks would open up a 6th slot for a wideout. Good move.
If we don't trade Girly Thor for a pick, he probably takes the 6th wideout roster spot.
Who are the remaining 5?
Knox
Hester
Shabba
Scrappy
and....
Since Bennett is a no show on Saturday still, he's gotta be considered bubble material. All the more reason to move Olsen for a pick, so both Bennett and Iglasias can stay, although I have yet to see what the Bears saw in that kid.
Move Olsen for Rosenfels or Dixon ...
draft picks.
Donte Whitner
P.S. Dennis Dixon will do nicely.
Amazingly, he's #3 behind, Fatboy and Leftwich.
Damn, that kid's got wheels! Can we sign him now?
That was pretty impressive in actuality... looked like the other kids were standing still.
The Book of Eli was great, but the movie went on for 7 1/2 minutes too long. Would have been the greatest ending ever if they had it fade to black after he said 'and there was light ....' Fortunately I re-edited it and posted it on youtube. So the world can sleep better now.

yeah, why would the girl leave that place after getting there?
Good movie though.
Top thing I'll be looking for this year:
1> Whether the Bears will make the playoffs.
Sounds like Narcissus wants Mister Noodle out of his way. And asking your team to lie to the press, that is not good. Mister Noodle is losing his grip.
And as Rocket can tell you, lying can get you in a shitload of trouble when you do it right through your teeth.

Chicago Bears: Under Mike Martz, Jay Cutler has a worse statistical season than he did last year. My thinking: Last year, Cutler threw the ball 555 times, ranking fourth in the NFL. How much more can he really throw it? He's known for poor decision-making, and in a Martz offense, the quarterback gets killed under the pressure, leading to more interceptions for Cutler.
hmmmm.....
he's not providing anything concrete to assert his claim. if Martz can make Kitna & Shaun Hill legit threats to a defense, what will he do w/ Cutler?
I'm so done reading all the speculation, thank god the reg. season is almost here. Time to put up or shut up Bears! I'd laugh my dick off if the Bears and Lions were 1 and 2 in the division this year! Buuhahaha
I still think the Lions will suprise the hell out of people.
LeGarret Blount punched a Titans teammate in practice today. He's the kid who was suspended from playing most of the last year for Oregon for punching some Idaho State corn cob kid and almost KOing his ass. Fischer was ok with it and seemed to support it. I like the stance; seems Ditkaish to me. That kid is bat shit bananas; I sort of wish he was on our team. Maybe he'd light a fire under some of our o-linemen's ass.
The top 3 things I'll be looking at during the raidas game:
1. Whether Lance Louis can have another solid game. I liked what I saw last game. Seems to have pretty good feet and looks like he can push guys around pretty good. We know he's mean enough.
2. Whether we can establish at least a turtlehead of a run game. Im looking for Forte and/or Bell to have a couple 10+ yd runs. The oline must run block and the RBs must show good burst and vision.
3. Whether the d-line can get at least an A cup's amount of pressure of the QB. I know San Diego was doing alot of quick drops which made it diificult for da line to get any pressure, but they need to do better. Period. A Tommie Harris sighting would be nice. Big Toe is being talked up today and getting time w/ the 1's. They're probably trying to get him ready to be the 3 technique horse in case Tommie is unproductive or shockingly gets hurt.
I've played with players like that Crown. It can be good to have an aggressive highly competitive team mate like that. Unfortunately most of them are selfish bastards that end up doing more harm than good.
From the Chinese Tweet Book:
Lovie Smith: "I think this is one of the more physical camps we
Mmmmmmmmmmmm... s'mores
Game 3 will tell the tale MB. I didn't need slow mo to show me our run blocking was futile. It must improve, no if's and's or but's.
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/multimedia/photo_gallery/1008/nfl.players.losing.helmets/content.6.html
Urlacher said this is the most physical camp that he has ever seen since joining the Bears.
Urlacher said the one thing different about this year then last year? We are going to win games.
Yeah GP, the Rochette has Arlan Spinkter to thank for bringing him in to slowly impale himself.
Crown, I read the piece on Blount. Supposedly it wasn't all that bad, not like the fucking ninja donkey-chin punch he laid on that dude at Boise... one of the defensive guys ripped him helmet off and started to push him so he punched the guy in the facemask (the dude has his helmet strapped up). So Fischer basically said it was a justified move. I
Forte and Bell? Don't you mean Forte and Chester Taylor?
Bell looked good at camp and decent in preseaon. He will most likely beat Wolfe out. Ohh wait, I forgot special teams.. Duh

That is where I got the news that Jay was going to suck this year.
don't open the door!, it's #16 and i don't think he is wearing anything under that rain coat except a leather sleeve. why is he holding duct tape and wearing a Steve Sabol mask?
Steve Sabol mask! Hahaha..that's awesome Waffle.
Doc, I would have to agree with you on point #1 all the way. There is too much goddamn information out there to make your head explode. The Twitter, the Facebooks, NFL Network and ESPN's of the world, the Larry Mayers and Sean Jensen D-bags all tweeting from the sidelines every time Jay Cutler breaks wind. Between all the off season arrests and off the field drama, it can all be extremely overwhelming. With all this new technology and access into a players life, it almost takes the fun out of it all. Your anxiety will pass once week 1 gets here.
It's Matt Foley!

Isn't that Rex Ryan ?
So I was wondering where Trac has been so I read back a bit on the ;ast post (ok, so I also wanted to see how psycho #16 is or if you guys were just bullshitting).
Holy cow! Trac, never seen you that fired up. And you're both good guys and necessary to the ethos of this blog. Kiss and make up you two please. For ol

I hate the queens just as much as the next guy but this man is a ticking time bomb. Health comes first and I would hate to see a man get seriously injured just to play "the game".

They keep pushing this dude.. Why can't they just give him time to recuperate?
The word in the Minnesota Vikings locker room is that head coach Brad Childress asked two of his assistants to lie to reporters on Tuesday about the location of the three players that were visiting Brett Favre(notes) to convince him to return to the team, Yahoo! Sports' Jason Cole reports.
It didn't sit well with his players, Cole notes. "Chilly can't even tell the truth about that," one player told Cole. "I mean, how ridiculous is that? What's the big deal that he has to lie? Worse, he has to tell other guys to lie for him?"
Multiple sources told Cole that Childress doesn't have much respect from his players, particularly from Favre. "Brett thinks Childress has no clue about offense," a Vikings player told Cole.
The sources told Cole that the mere existence of Childress was one of the reasons Favre might not have returned this season. Favre told some of his teammates in early July that he was probably going to return, Cole reports, but then his interest declined after Childress visited him July 19.
"Brett just doesn't trust him," a player told Cole
It's going to be a fun season in Minnesota.
From YAHOO.
damn...they have MUCHO problems up there. couldn't of happened to a classier organization.
also, to win a SB, a team has to have total cohesion (if you look at it, can you name 1 team that had a whole bunch of problems all season long)? and if players aren't buying into what the HEAD COACH is saying, sayornara to the Lombardi trophy...they have all kinds of issues.
For people who don't think Jay is a leader.

Bummer for the kid, that doesn't sound like much fun *at all*. Nice about the insurrection that's building within. Hopefully that is cause for some very entertaining coverage of them come mid-sih season when things start to utterly implode. Have we stolen Rosenpenis yet? No? Why?
Also, did you guys watch that clip of Angelo that Big Bird tweeted above? Jebus fucking christopher.... it's like the PR chick handed him the list of things he should say when he's up there. He just seems so fucking clueless. What an assbag. I can't wait till he's gone.
Ps. This monster blog is brutal.
M-60 is my fav doc. Big guns baby
I like it Doc, I like it. His contract is $infinity guaranteed. Wow.
FQ...Jays the man! He came to training camp last year and I had a chance to take a picture with him, still have it saved on my iphone I think. He stopped and took autographs and pics with one whole side of fans lined up against the fence. Class act!
Doc, fly out for the game on saturday and I'll buy your seat for you and the first round. They you, Mayyt and I will watch Da Bears kick the living shit out of the (3rd string) chargers baby. Open invite my man.
lol did you just say "acquiesced?" Doc you are a fool lmao
With you on all three Doc.
1. The only thing less interesting or relevant than pre-season games is camp. Look at other sports (outside the USA). Fans don't give a shit what happens outside of real, meaningful games. They don't know, don't care. "Who did we sign in the off-season?". That's it. That's all they're interested in. Not, "Shit, Omelette just busted Peppers on a play. Omelette sucks. Peppers sucks more now !" Information overload. "Jay Cutler is wearing different colored socks to the ones he had on in the morning!" Modern media coverage sucks. It's all soundbites, typified by fucking Twitter. Twats that tweet. Attention spans of 140 characters or less. Will that be the CV of the future ? Dscrb urslf n <140 ch.
2. Paranoia is what has me defending Sage Rosenfels on a blog. Paranoia makes the Queens 4th string QB look attractive, and seeing Hillenmeyer's name behind Urlacher's makes my nuts feel like they've been dropped into liquid nitrogen. What are the Colts without Manning? Saints without Brees ? Fkd. That's what. Both teams are a Lawrence Taylor away from a high draft pick next year.
.... and 2 ties into 3. By halftime of game one against the fudgers, our season was over. You just knew it. And then Vasher fell over, and yes they just scored. But put our disppointment levels in perspective with say, being a Lions or a Browns fan. In the last 25 years the only two times I've jumped around the house shouting to myself was the Arizona miracle (on radio) and Devin's KO return in the Superbowl(TV). For every Charles Martin moment, or Urlacher wrist injury we get, there are other teams that just seem to be a lot more cursed than we are. Unless you know who Len Dawson is, being a Chiefs fan hasn't been much fun, save for a brief visit from Joe Cool. I mean until last year, how cool were the Saints ? I'll take our storied history and hard times over being perennial also rans. It's better to win the superbowl once than be the Buffalo Bills.
I would have to add the Fighting Illini comeback in the final minutes of their Elite 8 game versus Arizona in the 2005 NCAAs to the list, but yeah, that pretty much covers it.
Being a Browns fan is absolutely brutal, but they bleed brown and orange. They are the only other team I would be able to root for without hating myself.
RT @ChrisHarrisNFL: "We will make u eat those words!" RT @BradBiggs: Best secondary? Where? Not here. RT @thefootballgirl Best secondary in the league?
YES!!!! reporters are actually useful for twitter; pissing off the Bears secondary!!!!
So I was up on the mother-site, see a link called 'veteran comfortable on his role on defense' ... and just before I click on it I'm thinking about what a wuss Mayer is and how long will it be before the next puff piece on Hillenmeyer to follow his Olsen special (around the time of all the trade talk when we found out that not one team in the NFL figured he was worth a second round pick). Ta da !
http://www.chicagobears.com/news/NewsStory.asp?story_id=6947
We need to get 'Larry Mayer' into the dictionary - I've submitted the following to Urban Dictionary. Fingers crossed ....
