DaBlog and Training Camp
By Jeff Hughes,

Since I won't be in Bourbonnais this summer due to prior theatrical commitments, I'm going to let the site become a hub for the Twitter feeds of those who are actually there. The guys we'll be tracking are:
Brad Biggs, Vaughn McClure and David Haugh of the Chicago Tribune.
Sean Jensen and Neil Hayes of the Chicago Sun-Times.
Jeff Dickerson and Michael Wright of ESPN Chicago.
Zach Zaidman of The Score.
Last summer these guys gave almost play-by-play updates and we'll have them constantly updating on the home page. That's right, kids. DaBearsBlog will be one-stop shopping for all your training camp information. When something of note takes place, I'll pop onto the front page and talk about it. Until then, enjoy.
First.
Hey, Jeff what is going to on those shirts that your going to be selling?
How much will Mike Tice help the O-line really?
Thanks for your time.
Mike Tice is a very good line coach but he can't perform miracles. He should be a better evaluator of talent as far as position is concerned. As long as he gets the right players in the right positions the Bears O-line should be able to do their job this year. I hope for nothing more, nothing less.
Shirts will be available, I'm hoping, within the next three or four weeks. It's a cool design and I'm working with people on it.
I reserve judgment on offensive line coaches. How can we know until we see the product? I'm interested to see who is actually going to start along the line.
The lynchpin of the 2010 season, no?
I would definitely agree
I agree - those t-shirts are absolutely critical.
No restrictions for Tommie?!!! That's what Lovie said. I wonder if that is good news..Ohh and if you worried about Anderson starting opposite of Peppers.. Indjoie had something to say abou that.
Israel Idonije refuses to concede starting defensive end job to Mark Anderson. Competition is 'absolutly' wide open according to Idonije.
I wouldn't be surprised if Izzy wins the job and there isn't much dropoff from Alex. Nothing against Alex because I've always admired him and was sad to see him go but he got by on smarts and non-stop effort, same with Izzy.
If Tommie is 85-90% of what he used to be, I'm happy. If it's the same old, same old, he will get cut in the off season by the new regime.
Lot's of motivation all around, from Phillips to the last man on the roster, incl. all the coaches. Hopefully we'll see guys not getting it done, getting replaced. Instead of the status quo, where everybody in mgmt starts trying to cover their ass and justify poor results.
I'm READY!
My boy Izzy can play anywhere, he's like a kitten looking for a free nipple on that line. In at the end, inside at tackle, block the kick, nipple.
Idonije checking in at roughly 265 lbs. Last year, at defensive tackle, he played at 285 lbs - 290 lbs.
I don't think Olin is fully healed but he says he is going to practice now and play.
Irish..get ready for your Beekman...I hope he can really play.
A very blas
I will work on my creativity towards being first.. I need time to develop like Trac, MB and you Irish lol I can't just sling it out there with the big dogs yet..but I hold my own.
Don't tell me Tice is just gonna make them eat Pizza everyday... damn it.. I was expecting Frank to be a probowler right tackle.
It's here,at last! Here's to a HEALTHY and productive 2010 camp!
Cheers!

oh yeahhhhhhh
The beginning of the untimely and premature demise of the venerable, 'American Vuvuzela'.
Sad really.
Whoops, false start, 5 yards.
This might help: http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/2010/jul/28/plans-for-vuvuzela-night-blown-out-of-the-stadium/
MB...I say "FU!@#$!@#$K the horns just play the game!
p.s. this twelfth man shit is a joke...If the eleven on the field did their jobs they wouldn't need a twelfth..just saying!
p.s. and p.s now I must admit this is funny...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQgTP7qk898
try this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQgTP7qk898
Brilliant! At least we know what 'the most interesting man in the world' did before working for XX, dive judge.
Oh, and I know Irish will appreciate this...
So, am I oversimplifying things when I say that the NFL Chicago Bears receivers coach is really just a Pizza Hut Manager. Bonus.

May I have a Meat Lovers XL please!
I think these are some of the moves we will see in the future from our receivers.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MnAwPjxMtZQ
what in theeee fuck?!?!?
That's either in Texas...or Iraq. Either way, I'll take a pass.
MB.....hhhhhhheeeeeeee!!!!!!!!! Just priming the pump for the season.
Good stuff!
I refuse to watch anything on Daryl Drake, MB. I just pretend he doesn't exist. A bit like Bears receivers. He's co-driving the incompetence 'short' bus with his bum-chum, Angelo. Just like I'm not going to watch that Eddie Williams story they have on there. The Eddie Williams story ? Yeah, real short. Buy Eddie, bye Daryl.
You know, helped Hines Ward develop in college..but I am not one to argue with you.
Is that Twitter feed (Bears reporters) active yet? Where is it?
if you don't feel like waiting (and you're on twitter), just click on this link:
https://twitter.com/#/list/FQD1911/da-bears
it has all the legit Bears reports, including Zaidman, Biggs, Jensen, McClure, Haugh, and others.
FQ already waaaay ahead of the technology curve. Nice.
Ain't that the truth? No doubt a crowd can make a difference, but if you're relying on that to win, uh-oh.
:o)
Very cool. I wonder how long it took to put it together?
Not to mention, "Be a Man"!
Are you ready for this fucking playoff run? Are you ready for BJ's during halftime? During kickoff returns? During one of 34 Cadillac commercials during the game?
Are you ready for Ghost, Pisa, Lach, Briggs, Harris, Harris, Harrison, Izzy, Cutty, Molester, Forte, DA, Knoxy, the flyer, the great white Special Teams assasin, Mad Martz, the greatest show on shitty under attended natural grass, Lance Louis, Vince Vance, Peter North and the upcoming ass kickings we are going to deliver?
Game on.
The beer can trio.

Crown !
Maybe they could bring back Johnny Morris for Sports...
http://www.suntimes.com/news/metro/2547202,kurtis-jacobson-reunited-at-wbbm-tv-072910.article
I remember Johnny. Cute wife back then too. Jeannie, former cheerleader and also sometimes fluff reporter for WBBM. Since divorced, I believe.
#47 caught 93 passes for the Bears in 1964(?). A FOURTEEN game season!
I remember Johnny. On th the tube AND on the field.
He caught 93 passes for the Bears in 1964. A FOURTEEN game season!
http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/M/MorrJo02.htm
His cute, former cheerleader and then-wife, Jeannie, also did some 'fluff' reports for WBBM.
As I recall, famed Daily News and then Tribune columnist, Mike Royko, had a running feud with Walter Jacobson who Royko would only refer to as "Skippy", Jacobson's nickname when he was a Cubs' batboy.
Al...nice history!!!!
He should used a name for Mussberger too. Gawd that little prick irritated me.
I liked Brent when he moved to TV but I hated him when he was a sports columnist for the old Chicago Daily News, one of the 2 afternoon papers I grew up with, the other being the Chicago American which became Chicago Today.
Where the hell is everyone!!! We are about to kick off the season!!!
+1 '85.
Hopefully everyone will come back soon. Crown, where are you man?
Oh, and a shout out to SDwat for the stepping up a couple strings ago. Sorry lad forgot to give you the thumbs up. Well done on the call to action.
We're still just going on flappage of the gum's MB. After the first preseason game everyone will have a lot to talk about.
Especially if we lose Cutler for the season. ouch.
Lovie Smith: "I feel like on the offensive side of the football we're going to move the ball. It's about scoring."
The wheel is turning but the hamster is dead.
BTW, talk about a sack of shit: http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=nfp-20100730_shanahan_albert_was_first_class_all_the_way
Man, after paying him that much cash I would be fucking irate.
I'm not sticking up for AH because I believe he is an AH but don't you think this was mostly Shanahan's way of establishing the pecking order?
Canada, dude gets paid a sheite load of money... the type I'll never see
I totally agree with you but I still think it was Shanny's way of emabarrassing AH and putting him in his place.
Holy shit - the season is here.
Now the assholes at the lesser blog can go twist their nipples to footage of AP in pads. What a bunch of self-fellating pretentious twats.
"Bears fans are the worst" - you self-hating jerkoffs, go root for the Peckers as you are wont to do.
Still irritated.
MBP...you mean these nipples?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iP2I-y6kBVs
Bwahahahahaaha! Nice lobo...nice.
The countdown to Cowher begins. In the meantime, hope you like train wrecks.
Although, if the rookies show enough to get Kreutz and OmygodIcantblock benched, my optimism will rise in a hurry.
CCCCCCCOOOOOOOOWWWWWWHHHHHEEEEEEERRRRRRRRR!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-DZqYrEhPNE
Awesome. Did you see the drunk Ditka video that showed up on the side of the page?
take your pessimism and go bang Douche-tansky with it. There is no Cowher countdown. His wife just died. He isn't doing shit next year. The countdown to the fucking season starts now. i should douse you in Bears Drank.
Some people say he might now that she has passed. I don't know if you have ever lost anyone Crown but when you lose someone.. you can't just sit there and do nothing..you have to do something.
Otherwise, it will eat you up.
Cowher is pretty damn tough..so maybe he won't come back but I he lost the love of his life and I think he might go back to do something that gave him something to live for.
i am the son of crown. and i know when, on the eve of camp, number one ninja tells me to wait for a train wreck of a team or season, i must tell him to fucketh offeth.
I'm ready for my haftime BJ
Let's not forget Old Father Garza, ninja. Williams/Asiata/Beekman/Louis/Shaeffer or Webb - let's get that shit into action week one and slap that bitch's ass all the way to the playoffs.
"What a bunch of self-fellating pretentious twats"
- 200 points!
btw, that tool signed his papers: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=5421298
McDaniels would do some real damage if he wasn't in charge of their personnel decisions. I think there's a degree of "me too" after watching Belicheat consistently turn over the roster in New England and still have a contender - but even Pappa Patriot has a top 3 QB on his roster to base all those moves around.
Too bad Chicago isn't playing the AFC West this year (except in the preseason, you dog).

God, what was he drawing ? As Da Coach would say : Fuck Ron Turner. Fuck him in the face.
Exactly Irish... right in the face!
Check out the entire "In the trenches" section: http://www.chicagobears.com/news/NewsStory.asp?story_id=6909
Holy shit... I think Irish's entire oline wet-dream might come true man. Seriously.
I agree.. Olin isn't really that healed.. Asita is a beast.. Garza has to fight to keep his spot.. and Right tackle is up for grabs if Frank sucks it up..which he will.
Not only is he not healed, he'll come back too early after lying that he's fine and frak it all up again. The only sensible thing to do is to start a healthy Beekman and give Kreutz all the time he needs to recover on the bench ...and then keep him there. Then if Beekman either sucks so bad at Center or gets injured, Olin is ready to go in. Way better than suffering through another season of Kreutz ushering people into the backfield and being used as a prophylactic by Mr. Suh.
Sevewn hours and ten minutes to go until there's a scuffle between Urlacher and Chester ...

Look at the guns on Tommie !
Holy shit!!! He looks like he's in great fucking shape. In my mind
Irish...is it possible!!! butter is now steel? Bring those guns Tommie and lets blow the shiete out of some o-lines this year!!!
He's gonna need those muscles because I will personally run him over with my car if he doesn't turn it around this year :)
He wants to shed that Butter label.

and he was so unique that I've never heard of someone saying, "Oh, yeah, that guy will be the next Walter Payton". There is no 'next'. He was one of a kind.
Can that be any more true?
Taylor and Forte would be doing well to be the next Neal Anderson. That dude just had an extra gear, and look at 2:44 for a sick catch. An equal of any of the great running backs, as good as any receiver. Great moves, great awareness of sidelines and reading the blocks, but forever in Walter's shadow. A truly great player. I hope Mr. Forte watches film of Neal Anderson.

As long as LDL has nothing to do with it!
Tim Tebow is Navin R. Johnson.
The new phonebook's here, the new phonebook's here!
Nice MBP.
Actually, I think I saw him in black slacks, a white short sleeve button up, a backpack and a bike helmet canvassing my neighborhood door-to-door this morning.
Actually, I think I saw him in black slacks, a white short sleeve button down, a backpack, and a bike helmet canvasing my neighborhood this morning.
huh, thaaaaat's a new bug.
Great site ChiNow. Jebus.
Was he looking for confirmation that he was a tool, or just running for the office of Satan's jizzum receptacle ?
These cans are defective !
We're the warm up band 85. The main act doesn't start for a couple more weeks.
FYI: Izzy is better than Anderson.
Brown was a huge loss, but Israel Idonije is almost just as good. Peppers is something better than anything we have ever seen (including the future hall of fame Dent). Anderson is a motor without a rudder. If he gets lucky he will look good, but Izzy has instincts, skill, and strength over luck.
Please start Izzy over draft boy!
Izzy is our BEST lineman until somebody else steps up in a Bears jersey ...
I GOT MY BEARS TICKETS IN THE MAIL!%!$!~!@@#!~#!@@!@!!!
Section 436, you better watch your ass.
I figure $300/per comes at a price right? I heard my seats are laced with the finest Peruvian powder this side of the Prime Meridian.
Congrats on the tix! Careful with the Peruvian Marching Powder, it eat's the membranes in your wallet.
I can remember that too. It's funny to see clips from that era. When you were a kid, the picture quality seemed great. Now, not so much.
Don't remember his hot wife.
