Bears Play Bills in Toronto, November 7th

Per PFT:

The full NFL 2010 schedule hasn't been released yet, but a few pieces of news are starting to trickle out, and one of them is the date and opponent for the Buffalo Bills' annual regular-season game in Toronto.

The Globe and Mail reports that the Chicago Bears will play the Bills at the Rogers Centre on Sunday, November 7.

The report notes that this scheduling could be a cause for concern for the Canadian Football League: It will be the first time an NFL game is played in Canada before the CFL season is over. In fact, the 1 p.m. Bears-Bills game probably won't be over before the Toronto Argonauts' game at Montreal starts at 4 p.m. Eastern.

The Bills played home games in Toronto in 2008 and 2009, but those games were in December, after the Grey Cup. This time the NFL is stepping onto the CFL's turf before the CFL season is completed.

Addendum 5:39 pm ET  - The Bears will open against the Lions at home and play the Giants on Sunday night during Week 4.

The Twitter exchange above is halarious, great find Irish!

  • In reply to Joseph:

And I have a bold prediction.

The Bears trade Olsen AND our 3rd round pick to get into the first round! mark it down folks.

  • In reply to Joseph:

Dream on Joseph, it would take more than that to get into the first rd. Nice thought, just not probable!!

  • In reply to Joseph:

If they got a first then getting Gaither would be the way I'd spend it. No fkn way I want to look at Frank doing his Wonder Woman impression all year long ...

  • In reply to Joseph:

    WHAAAAAAAA..........HOOOOOOOO

I've died and gone to heaven. My bears are playing within 30 miles from home. Finally a chance to see them play without travelling for 2 days like I have many times before. Pinch me damn!!!

Totally agree. That's why it's funny!

Gotta love Canadian beer. 5% and usually pretty good. Just too damn expensive.

  • In reply to nicholsra:

I like the fact Martz is letting him know right up front he's blocking. Also, liked everything he said about Cutler being great to work with and smart as hell. + he's working on fundamentals with him. What a concept!

  • In reply to CanadaBear:

Canada. I agree that the moves made lately, should help DA Bears! Blocking is 1st in Martz's offense, and I agree. Block, then Exploit them for Big Yardage!!!! GO BEARS!

  • In reply to nicholsra:

Hey Lobo, got to Love them Molsens!!

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    Oh he meant it!

  • In reply to crowntheirass:

I think BaM's idea is very interesting, let's review:

    1. Looks like we're stuck with the douche

    2. He's 6'5" and runs a fucking 4.5 40 (we'll forget for now that he's also 255 LBS)

    3. He can't block to save his life and he won't sell out for the ball

    4. He doesn't ever get ANY YAC..

    5. Basically, he's also a whinny diva.

Total: Holy-sheite Muslim! He IS a WR!!!! Now if we can just work on that whole

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    +1

Plus one my friend. Plus one. Seeing as I'm not getting The Beast .. at least let's have ...The Pussy.

  • In reply to crowntheirass:

If the Buffalo Bills offense was a sexual act, it would be erectile dysfunction.

I may light myself on fire if we find a way to loose this game. Boofoolo sucks balls, in fact they are probably the worst team in the league.

    Championship

  • In reply to MASOCHR:

Hey Coach, I hear ya. But sexual disfuntion is not an act that is enjoyed, by most of us!!! Most of us like the sexual functioning fine!!

Lobo ! Loboooooooooo! Come to candy mountain with us Lobo !

  • In reply to MB30SD:

I like the opener at home versus the Lions. That should get us rollin.. I know they improved, but we're 1-0 already.

  • In reply to crowntheirass:

6-1/7-2 openers if we fix shit up ...

  • In reply to crowntheirass:

At least we're not playing in London.

  • In reply to crowntheirass:

Are we who you thought we were?

  • In reply to Joseph:

I don't care if they play in Timbuctoo as long as we get a "W" out of it.

  • In reply to Joseph:

Olsen will do well with a productive O-line and passing game. He won't hurt us as much as he will be able to help us if Martz can improve our offensive scheme's. I'm starting to realize the Olsen issue looks more and more like beating a dead horse. Lovie will find a way to keep Olsen because from what I have heard this offseason, a trade would not net the team any value worth talking about. Looks like we're stuck with him boys. He could be our sub FB, WR, TE if injuries plague our offense this year.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

If Olsen can learn to block well, then he can help our offense tremendously!! He already possesses the downfield threat for us! Pray for the best for our Bears!!

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Martz did make a very recent comment AGAIN that any TE in his scheme will have to get with the blocking or else. He's up against Angelo's alma mater golden girl though ... and Lovie picks the team. What a mindfuck.

  • In reply to Joseph:

Greg Olsen will not go anywhere. How many times have we given up on a top pick or second rounder to some one else and they stick it to us. Jerry and Lovie won't do that and I promise, Greg Olsen will be the starting tight end. Till, they realize he can't block and make Manunualala or Clark the starter. Kellen Davis still needs a lil work.

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

I agree Bears85. I think Da Bears will keep Olsen. I think Kellen will shine along with Olsen, this season!!

  • In reply to Bears85Sweetness23:

Manu is getting paid 12 times what Olsen gets paid and was brought in for a reason, he's a walking mountain. Olsen definitely sees less of the field this year, unless they move him to receiver ...

  • In reply to Joseph:

    Good for Torry Holt!!

  • BAM.. Hey don't bad mouth or new HB ..hehehehehehehe!

  • His particular problem wouldn't go away if he moved to WR - receivers still have to block (somebody please inform Devin H). If Tice can somehow get Olsen to grow a fucking pair and hit someone, at least then we wouldn't have a smurf blocking on the outside - that would be something. Knox tries to block at least, but having a 6'5 WR throwing his weight behind blocks would be awesome. Then you could keep Manu on the field for more plays and we could actually have a running game to pen it up for Cutler. Olsen would be a poor man's Marshall but at least we'd have a guy for those jump balls on the outside. Damn. Shabba and Olsen on the outside. i can feel a little wee coming out.

Then again - just trade the jessie and make Kellen Davis the WR. Yeah, 6'7 on the outside - sounds better, sounds a lot sexier... Dez on the inside for passing plays. Trade Olsen for whatever.
