Audibles From the Long Snapper

Will Olsen Fit With Martz?
PFT writes that Mike Martz seems to like "his receivers to catch and his tight ends to block" as they ponder what role Greg Olsen might serve in the new system.  Martz is mad but he recognizes the mismatch Greg Olsen creates on linebackers and safeties.  Expect to see Desmond Clark and Kellen Davis fill the role of tradition tight end while Olsen becomes a versatile toy: H-back, slot guy...etc.

Tommie Harris: Yeah, Het Gets It
Here's Harris' comments on the hiring of Rod Marinelli as defensive coordinator:

"If anybody would have come from the outside, they would have already
known the history of the defense, so nothing would have changed,"
Harris said. "Nobody was going to come here and change this to a 3-4 or
anything
like that. It just would have been a different name at
defensive coordinator. But we're fine with coach Marinelli. He's a
monster.'

I'd love for someone to play the audio tape of Tommie saying these words for Ted Phillips, the man who promised fans major changes were coming to the organization.  I wish someone would explain to me how the worst single-season defense in franchise history has earned the right to make these decisions.

Boldin Only Costs a Third Rounder?
Make.  The.  Deal.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

A #2 for Olsen but only a #3 for Boldin?

    That jus doesn't add up.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

Boldin has been nursing an injury. Don't know what his prognosis is. If his wheels are bad that would explain it.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

so i might be going to two Bears game next season (one in Dallas for sure and maybe one in Chicago is the money is right). trying to decide if it's going to be the Jets, Pats, or Packers (leaning toward the Pack...hate those fuckers).

  • In reply to FQD1911:

Nice FQ. If we're doing well, I might try to make it out to a home game next year - near the end of the year when it's fucking freezing and hopefully snowing.

Go to the Pack game man. Hands down!

  • In reply to MB30SD:

lol good lookin. and to answer your question, i'll see MH sometime this summer (and yes we'll have a lot to talk about). will report the convo back lol

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Glad people stuck up for FNG. I know it seems odd to most of us but posting on a blog can be intimidating to newbies. No need to be dicks. Save that for people that deserve it. Like I always say, "Just because we have one, it doesn't mean we have to be one." One last point, I've ended every post the same way for at least the last 10 years. If it bother you, skip the last line. Otherwise, go pound sand.

I think Martz will figure out what to do with Olsen. Not to mention Olsen has probably gotten the msg, get with the fucking program and block. Boldin coming here will probably not happen.

    Go Bears!

Maybe we can as Da Coach to take Olsen to the woodshed and teach him some skills.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Hello fellow Bear fans. Reading between the lines here,I think Olsen will get traded,as they will hope to get a 2nd round pick? That is just my opinion of course. Olsen has failed to really improve as a blocker, which is what Martz requires to protect his Q.B. I see reliable Des Clark and the behemoth Kellen Davis at 6'7" as they are much better blockers. I could see an addition as well on the O-Line. I look for Boldin to go for no less than a 2nd round pick. Arizona already turned down a 2nd rd choice from da Bears already last year. What do you guys think about Holt who is due to be released. Maybe on a 1 or 2 year deal to help the younger receivers with the new system. We definitely have to upgrade at D.E and Free safety somehow. But I am excited & intrigued by the Martz hire. In my 45 years as a Bear fan,I havent seen this type of firepower potential on a Bears offense. Take Care. BEAR DOWN! GO BEARS!

  • In reply to ForeverBears:

While I think your thoughts about Holt are on target, the only problem I see is, will Martz and his system be around after next year. If we can get him on the cheap it might be a good one year investment and then go from there. I'm sure Martz is already stumping to bring Holtz in anyway.

I think we should do a Olsen/Vasher trade to Zona for Boldin.

I'm also with you BaM, I've been a 'Martz is a train wreck' guy, but he's certainly saying all the right things (see the article on Da site that I reposted last thread). If he can pull off the stuff he's chatterin' I'll be more than happy with the guy. Let's see if he has any influence when it comes time for Jerry Asshat to go get us some o linemen and a real receiver.

  • In reply to ForeverBears:

Hi #1BF, My concern with Holt - apart from his age - is why the Jaguars (a team in dire need of a receiver) would be releasing him. That tells us all we need to know. They need receivers worse than we do and that's saying something ....

I'd be more interested in the studly Sims-Walker they have ... and I believe the amazing Miles Austin is a FA too although probably restricted ...

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

Dallas would be insane to let Austin go.

  • In reply to ForeverBears:

I'm more than happy to see KD get additional reps next year and move Olsen for help on the OL, whether that be through the draft or straight-up trade.
Olsen's receiving numbers are great, but the blocking just isn't there, and I don't think it ever will be. KD, on the other hand, has shown flashes of both.
Priority #1 next year is to not get Jay killed, and that means we need a blocking TE. Period.

  • In reply to ForeverBears:

Flag on the play! Illegal procedure (disinformation), Tractor.

Wilbur Marshall did not hold out in '85 and the Bears certainly DID need him. I'm sure then Lions QB, Joe "what was that bus that just hit me" Ferguson, would have been pleased if Marshall HAD held out.

It was Todd Bell and Al Harris who, ill-advisedly, sat out the entire season and missed the trip to the promised land. Neither ever started for the Bears again. Both followed Buddy Ryan to Philly and both were back in Chicago as Eagles only to lose the infamous "Fog Bowl" playoff game.

The Bears eventually lost Marshall to the 'Skins via free agency but he was never the force in D.C. or Phoenix that he'd been in Chicago.

  • In reply to Albertintucson:

Al. Sorry I should have not made that error. You get my point though. Was a careless mistake. Thanks for the fact check.

  • Boldin would be great. Trade Olsen. He is a top ten tight end and should command a 2nd round pick. Glad to hear Martz isn't pulling any punches as far as Olsen's need to be able to block. I also loved the comments on Hester being more suited for return game. I might end up liking this guy.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

I just read Mayer's interview with Martz on the team site, and must say I'm impressed with his assessment of what he has and how he intends to use it moving forward. I know he's a bit of an egotistical mad scientist, but he's got enough of the FU attitude I think we need at the OC position to get the most from Cutler and Co. I also get the feeling that he and Cutler will get along great from the start, and that will go along way for Jay's confidence and maturation. I know, I know, I'm drinking the kool-aid early, but damn it's delicious this time of year.

  • Have to admit, if I am Greg Olsen, I am concerned.

The biggest season for a Tight End I could find when Martz was head coach of the Rams was 38 catches. His TEs were guys like Ernie Conwell, Cam Cleland, Roland Williams and Brandon Manumaleuna, none of whom have the receiving skills of Olsen. However, harkening back to Martz's "Everything starts with the offensive line. Everything." mantra, it would appear that he'll be looking for more blocking than receiving from the position and even I admit, THAT is not Olsen's strongpoint.

WHATEVER Tommie Harris says, I say "Consider the source".

Have figure Martz would be happy to pull the trigger on a #3-for -Arizona really never missed Anquan when he was out of the lineup but THAT was with Kurt Warner dealin' the cards.

  • sticking up for the FNG...i like it.

  • It's not about that. Fan made a comment about fair weather fan criticising the team and not supporting the team. Kinda came off as disengenuous. We all love the org and just because we get frustrated doesn't mean Jack. I don't think there is anyone here who truly doesn't want our team to do well. We just get pissed off when we the fans get treated like red headed step children by the org.

  • My wish List for FA:

Big Question is can we or are we smart enough to pull the trigger?

    1. 2010 FA Offensive Linemen-Guards two if possible(Kevin Mawae 1yr contract)

    2. 2010 FA Defensive Backs-Sharper 1 year contract

    3. 2010 FA Defensive BackLine-Aaron Kampman possible multi yr deal

    4. 2010 FA Running Backs-Chester Taylor-1yr ? Peterson hasn't panned out and get rid of McShitkee.

At this point with 2011 looming(CBA) go for broke and shoot for one year 2010 SB... then pull the plug and reboot in 2012. New Coach, new philosphy, new GM, New front end everything. BALLS OUT!!!

  • In reply to nicholsra:

lobo, I like it. I don't think we'll get all 4 areas addressed though. If we only get two of your 4 wishes I'll be very happy. Taylor would be last on my list though. #1 and #3 would be great. A great D line will improve the DB's we have just by being able to apply more pressure on the QB.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Trac...yeah I just don't get the way our management see's things. They are constantly saying "Pretty Well Set" but if you ask JC for all the times his face is eating turf, INT's, hurry up's shit the list is too long..they don't see a problem with are line on both side's of the ball. And now we prop up Rod(Mr.Guru)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wlaKXh-8CSs&feature=related

All those choices.. but I again am hesitant about thinking about FA's for we have seen the track record of our management.

  • sticking up for the FNG...i like it.

  • That wasn't my point. My point was you don't have to pound your chest to prove you are a fan. Look, I'm not looking for a fight. I just think we are all big boys and we don't need any choir boy ra ra acts. That's all.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

And for the record, I might have been to the point but I was not rude. Any its not even about smelling a rat. Don't know where that came from.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Lastly, I certainly did not intend to discourage any Bear fans from taking part on this Blog. I apologize if that's how I came across.

  • Doc, this is a what have you done for me lately league. Olsen did rank 11th among tights ends last season which isn't too shabby but I don't think the success of our offense will hinge on Olsen especially since we have two other pretty good tight ends and Martz won't be running 2 tight end sets like we have in the past. Lastly, I think we can all agree that Olsen "is not" a Vernon Davis or Antonio Gates, nor do I ever think he will be. I really think Olsens trade value will help us get to where we want to go as a team.

  • Doc, I appreciate your feelings.

We should surely welcome new posters and be inviting

  • I think needs #1 and #2 first... then #3 if still possible/available/viable. As for who in those positions, I like Bathea or Harper (he's younger and not as big of a star... saints aren't going to give up Sharper after this year). The guards

  • In reply to MB30SD:

If Umenyiora is healthy, I say get him and get him now. If there are some possible health issues as long as the prognosis is good, I say get him. Nice find MB.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

yea that would be a great move. and he HATES how the giants are doing things....yea pick him up

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

I dont understand all the hate towards Olsen. This guy has upped his #'s in each of his 3 seasons. He wasnt drafted as a blocking tight end and now everyone wants to dump on him for it even though he's a top player for us? Thats total bullshit. What happens when and if Lovie and co. get the axe next season and we traded away one of the top TE's in the league to aquire what????? An oft injured possesion WR from AZ? What else do we have? Kellen Davis is a monster but doesnt create mismatches Olsen does and Clark is on his way out. Stop drinking the fucking kool aid.

  • In reply to smooks11:

BD11...gulp..gulp..gulp..but I like the Koolaid..yeah his number are on the rise but we need him in other capacities..like blocking and if our caoching staff were any good they would understnad that and have him work on it..if he doesn't get it then he needs to move on or (I am to lazy to go up) someone said place him in the slot or hybrid him somehow. get him out of that traditional position and place him next to Dez and two TE next to each other

  • In reply to nicholsra:

damn fat fingers..sorry for the typo's..shit!

  • In reply to nicholsra:

Thing is Lobo, he's not even that good of a receiver, so my beef has always been ...sell the fool. We wasted a first, let's get a 3rd before he's on some reality TV show ....

  • In reply to smooks11:

Bear, you opened the door so I'm gonna walk right through it. Don't confuse facts with fiction concerning Olsen. He was drafted in the first round and his blocking skills are not what they're supposed to be. I agree with Martz 100% concerning a tight ends responsibility to be a blocker first. Sure Olsen has had some moments but we need a tight end not a WR pretending to be a tight end. I watched every game this year and Olsen did not impress me, period. Can he continue to get better, maybe? I think most pragmatic Bears fans realize that at this point in time he may offer us the only trade value on the team that can get us what we need without giving the store away. Tight ends don't win championships unless they play and impact the team like Ditka did. Olsen is no Mike Ditka, not even close.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Trac..Hell Olsen can't even carry Ditka's Jock Strap

  • In reply to nicholsra:

    hear, hear. Da Coach.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Above post was in response to Beardown, not lobo.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

I know Trac..Im with you on it..

  • In reply to nicholsra:

Look, I understand where some fans are coming from with Olsen and others players on the team. I'm coming from a strictly practical and logical point of view. I didn't see anything watching Olsen play last season to make me think, "wow, this guy is good. I hated to see Wilber Marshall hold out the year the Bears won the Superbowl but it turned out we didn't need him. Olsen is not a player that will turn the tide for us.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Wilbur Marshall started in Super Bowl XX. Todd Bell and Al Harris held out.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

MB...your .02 and here's my .01...agree with all the logic brother..

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Wow, MB. Not much I can add to that, but I need to. What's with the Olsen love Beardown11 ? Really ? I mean, what do you see in the guy? I really am curious. Because all I see is a serious lack of production and no blocking. The guys on here get wound up with me banging on about Olsen - but he really is the elephant in the room. I mean the guy had 10 catches after game four of the season. That's 0.83 catches per game. 12 games where he was out to lunch. Take out the Arizona game where he had 3 TDs - and we were blown-out ... and he averaged one TD every 3 games. That's 0.33 TDs per game. Is that solid production for your starting TE and first round draft pick ? Not in anyone's league. The dropped passes are killers. He quits too easily. Cover him early and often and he gives up, like Owens/Moss. I mean, you can't block, but you can't get open and catch the fucking ball either ? Why are you in the NFL ? I think it needs re-stating. Ten fucking catches in 12 games ? What was he doing ? Did he suit up ? He was a huge factor in our inability to run, aside from Omiyale.

Angelo drafted him because he was from the same college he was. Period. Olsen is a bust - time to cash in. Tony Gonzalez can block, Gates, Clark, Daniels, Shockey, you name it. This is football. You need to block. Walter Payton was a great blocker - was he too great a player to block ? No man, it's part of the game! It's a man's game and Greg Olsen can't play it. We need to get some draft ammo for this fool before the rest of the league figured out what fans have known for some time. Greg. Olsen Is. A. Big. girl.

Watch the first clip : Olsen v the Rams. Pathetic.

Josh McRetard ran Cutelr out of town. He's about 5 minute away from doing the same to Marshall and Scheffler, let's be waiting at the front door for them. give them Hester/Olsen and whatever the hell they want. If the Chicago Bears get Brandon Marshall we are in the playoffs.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

All valid points MB, my biggest concern is trading him away and getting a lump of shit in return which, we as Bears fans, can almost expect. Being a former college QB Im all for as many sick WR's as we can get, I just dont trust management to get it right. I worry that after Lovie is fired, we're left with a bigger void at certain positions than we have now. Good thoughts on all of it though bro. I appreciate a well thought rebutle.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    Nicely put, Trac.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

I think Betha and Harper are both Strong Safties MB, although Bethea was filling in for Sanders who should be back okay. Harper is better against the run, Sharper not so good ('they' say). Also Sharper is 34. I like the idea of getting someone off GB ...

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

Bethea is a guy who doesn't get enough credit for the havoc he creates. He was a beast against us in the Super Bowl, and has a nose for the ball and the big play. Given how injury prone Sanders is, I don't see Indy getting rid of him. Osi has mentally checked out of NY, and he would be a beast off the edge for a few seasons at least, motivated by all the "he can't play anymore" BS being thrown around int he NY media. Long shots at best, but both of those guys instantly upgrade our D to top 15 IMHO.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    1. Will Olsen Fit With Martz? 3. Boldin ?

Can't. Won't. Martz has pretty much spelled that one out. Also, if you look at Martz' previous TE stats, they catch about 25/30 passes a year on average. Like he says, Tight Ends block, or you might as well be a big receiver. Sadly he doesn't like double TE sets. We need to improve our roster. We need picks to play with in order to do that.

As I see it, we can survive momentarily without a new LG, Beekman can man the ramparts until long term help arrives, which obviously needs to be premium. Ditto free safety

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

By the bye, Biggs said somewhere that Olsen had 10 catches after game four ... it was actually 10 catches in the first four games. Sorry Greg.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

I think what we experienced today was the equivalent of cabin fever. We are going to go absolutely crazy if we have to keep this up until July or August. Of my friends has already told me to "shut the f*ck up until at least until August". i laughed and less than 5 minutes later i had him ranting about our shitty stadium grass. Classic!

  • Doc....We all want it to play out

  • The guy made a broad statement by saying the other blogs he had visited was full of complaining fair weather fans. If you really think about it he was the one that cast the first stone only he tried doing it in a below the radar kinda way. Thats what jumped out to me.

  • Not sure you were referring to me but I'm not mad at anyone. Just trying to help out FNG. We're cool as far as I'm concerned. And, of course.

    Go Bears!

  • Yeah, I remember looking at the tribune board for ages before I posted, it seemed like there was about 4 guys on there and no one else was welcome. Very cliquey. And #1BearsFan may be a lady so be on your best behaviour :o)

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

I almost hope that we cut someone so we have some news instead of this weak ass bickering. Mmmmmmm, how about Jason McKie?

And how much do we change our personnel for an Offensive system that may only be here for one year?

Pretty much whatever gets us a good Offensive line to protect Jay I am up for. All I am hoping for this season is to keep him in one piece.

And this bickering is like Kumbaya, holding hands shit compared to the wars that some nemeses had here daily before. Sometimes not very productive football talk but some of it was hilarious. I swear I thought one guy was Jay Mariotti. Enraging but funny stuff.

Go Bears!! Bear Down!! Sincerely, Da Bears #1 Fan!!!

I thought we were an autonomous collective.

    Help, Help, I'm being oppressed!
Come see the violence inherent in the system!

  • In reply to JeffHughes:

Did anybody else read the article Sean Jensen wrote concerning Cutlers picks last year? Evidently Jaworski reviewed all 29 picks and seems to think most were Cutty's fault, not the O-line. Cutlers int's led directly to 25% of our opponents scores last season. Don't know how he came up with that bit of info but I think we can all agree Cutty can't have another year like the last one.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

If they wanted to cut back on Jay's picks, they got the wroooong OC. Martz could care less about picks as long as you throw TDs. I think Warner's MVP year when he threw like 37 TDs he had 28 picks or so.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Looks like the Bears website is starting to polish Olsen up for a possible trade. There's a nice puff piece on him posted right now.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Huh, I know the guy's supposed to be some sort of guru, but he doesn't even mention FS, instead he mentioned another corner, and a R tackle instead of a R guard?! I know we need another corner or two in case of injury, but we already have two proven starters right now. I would say after a guard or two, FS is without a doubt our most glaring need.

Doesn't seem like much of a guru to me: http://www.chicagobears.com/news/NewsStory.asp?story_id=6542

  • In reply to MB30SD:

MB...Jebus..They two paragraph contradict each other..this "guru" does he work for the Bears? I mean the first paragraph says we need to go tackle, defense, corner and then the first sentence in the next paragraph says we need a young offensive line..crap which is it? mmmmmooooorrrrrroooooonnnn

  • In reply to MB30SD:

holy shit. the Giants released Antonio Pierce. we need to sign him RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!

    http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4905683

  • In reply to FQD1911:

He's got a prolapsed disc in his spine. I was a young man when I had one and it still took years to put right. Pierce is 32 ? Pass.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    o and here's a VERY good read: http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/bears/-1,jay-cutler-picks-11.photogallery?index=0

this piece examines all 26 of JC's interceptions (done by Sean Jensen w/ help from Ron Jaworski). very insightful

  • In reply to FQD1911:

That was super cool... the concept and execution, NOT the content.

While I'm sure he's right on most of those, hindsight's always 20/20 and a hell of a lot easier when you're not being chased by Huge, bad men.

Oh, and Jaws is a fucking airbag. Anyway, great find FQ, thanks for sharing.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

MB..agree.. I mean Jaws YOU SUCK!!!! you worthless piece of Flagellating flesh. And oh by the way when your FU@!$#@#ING running for you life it's hard to pick your reciver when a 300 pound lineman in your face.. Armchair quaterloser.. yes. did JC make some poor choices yeah when you have shit DH as #1 receiver...(insert joke here)and you line is pourus. I mean come on place foot in mouth and run with it.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

AP would be awesome... I'm sure there'll be a line.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

there was a line for cutty, but we still got him right? at this point, BU needs some competition (and at this age, signing a YOUNG MLB to replace him and package BU w/ another player would be nice to get a serious need). work your magic JA *groan*

  • In reply to FQD1911:

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAhahahahahahahahahhahahahahahaa... haaaaaa haa hahah... ha ha... aaaaaahhhhhhhh.... uuuuhhhhhem. Uh, yeah. That sucks.

  • In reply to FQD1911:

FQ...yes..JA and his Bad Voodoo.. Would love Pierce could be intersting w/BU.

  • In reply to MB30SD:

Put the team doctor on the next flight to N.Y. If Pierce checks out, make him an offer he can't refuse...heh, heh.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Can we trade LDL/RM/MM and will give you JA just for shits and giggles.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

The Jacksonville Jaguars have released receiver Torry Holt, left tackle Tra Thomas and defensive tackle Rob Meier.

The moves had been expected because coach Jack Del Rio already told the three aging veterans they would not be part of the team's rebuilding process.

Holt, a seven-time Pro Bowl selection with St. Louis, caught 51 passes for 722 yards with the Jaguars last season. He has 920 career receptions for 13,382 yards and 74 touchdowns.

Thomas, a three-time Pro Bowler with Philadelphia, started three games for the Jaguars last season.

Meier, a 10-year veteran who spent last season on injured reserve, has 307 career tackles and ranks ninth in team history with 21 1/2 sacks.

The Atlanta Falcons announced Thursday that they have agreed to a contract extension with wide receiver Brian Finneran, who will avoid free agency.

  • In reply to mikemuadib:

Time we pulled Eric Peterman out and dusted him off ... shades of Sweetness the way he puts his head down and chests tacklers rather than go out of bounds like Earl Bennett.

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

Irish. Dude is 6'1" and 200lbs... I thought that qualified him for the midgit death squad?

  • In reply to MB30SD:

    1. He's already on the squad.
    2. That extra 1" excludes him from the lollipop guild.

Looking at this Taylor Mays dude just now, man he's a beast ...

  • In reply to mikemuadib:

Sign Holt now if only to prevent Hesters noggin from exploding upon receipt of Martz' playbook.

Did you really post a Finneran update Z? You must have manure for brains.

  • In reply to MASOCHR:

    Coach... where you been man?

  • In reply to MB30SD:

If Brian Finneran were a sexual act ....

  • In reply to MB30SD:

I read the comments on here & was a little surprised at some of the negative feedback thrown at me personally. Just For the record I am not a Rat! Just an avid Bear fan like you all. My name of #1 has nothing to do with chest thumping, lol. I only meant it as being my #1 sport & hobbie I guess. I never meant to demean anyone or put myself on a pedestal. I do get overly defensive about the Bears at times & have used the term fair weather fan. Mostly just blowing off steam to someone who is hating too much on Da Bears. People like me or dont like me,everyone has that right thats cool. I just liked this site after reading on it for a year and wanted to post Bears with some great fans, that is all. I was very encouraged to read all the support I got from you great fans on this blog. Thanks alot, it made me feel good and want to continue posting here. You all provide alot of good information. In the end we are all on the same team, even with differing opinions. SO GO BEARS & BEAR THE FUCK DOWN LOL!!!

  • In reply to MB30SD:

I saw that from Mel Kiper - Right Tackle as a need, fks sake, we've only got Shaeffer, Omiyale, Pace and whatever bench monkey competing for the spot.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

Trade Olsen to get Boldin? good idea since Martz will use Boldin more than he would Olsen. Also, I listen to Martz interview on the Mully and Hanley show and I love how he talked about Hester. Saying that he would be used as a slot reciever and will go back to returning kicks. HAHA Great finally somebody with some good news.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

I mailed Mayer and told him what I thought about that. What a joke. Our boy roy has a new Olsen clip, singular. A complete WTF? moment ...

Check out a Hawks game and the Art Institute.

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

BTW, if that actually was/is Max, I have to take everything back I've said about him. What a brilliant grenade to toss into the middle of us all. If it isn't him, I feel really stupid for having talked about him so much today. Either way, he'd probably laugh his ass off. Psychological warfare at its best

  • In reply to MB30SD:

"Brilliant Grenade". Nice, MB. Good name for a war movie .. "My brilliant grenade." A poet and you don't know it ...

  • In reply to IrishBearsFan:

    That's the next U2 album.

Listen, strange women lyin' in ponds distributin' swords is no basis for a system of government.

  • In reply to mikemuadib:

You can't expect to wield supreme executive power just because some watery tart threw a sword at you.

  • In reply to mikemuadib:

If I went 'round sayin' I was Emperor, just because some moistened bint lobbed a scimitar at me, they'd put me away.

  • In reply to mikemuadib:

    Bint - love it.

  • In reply to mikemuadib:

Brilliant stuff Z. God, I have to go out and rent all of them for this weekend. The wife's not a huge fan, but my Jebus that shit is so damn funny.

You mother was a hampster and your father smelt of elderberries!

  • In reply to MB30SD:

If you like John Cleese check out Fawlty Towers if you haven't yet. He runs a hotel and it is some of the funniest stuff I have ever seen.

  • In reply to mikemuadib:

The "health inspector" and "Germans" episodes are indeed some of the funniest stuff I've seen.

  • I'd like to use Butler. How can you not like a guy whose nickname is Butthead?!!

    Go Bears!

  • Go Bears !!

  • Thing is Doc, how long do we wait for Olsen in a one TE system ? Sometimes players come at the wrong time. Dez can play. So can Davis IMHO. Davis blocks well and is a bigger target. We need trade material, we need picks, and Olsen does not look like a golden goose. Except on third down - boom boom. I was on the Boldin bandwagon last year, but we had Shabba and Rideau on the roster at the time. Rideau would be a free signing by the way. 6'3, freeeee !! He's probably working at K-Mart.

Funny thing, I was looking at Winslow's stats ... wow are they average. Don't look like HOF stats but I guess they didn't chuck it at the TE much back then.

  • He'll fight through it. We all get crap for some of our blogs from time to time. Just have to rub some dirt on it and get back up.

  • In reply to ImissButkus:

    Dirt AND grass Trac.

That was one of my high school coach

  • My coach used to say "gents, you don't burn your nose on the radiator twice". We used to all look at each other and say, "whats he talking about"? lol
