Per Florio, the current crop of Bears free agents:
Chicago Bears: (restricted) DE Mark Anderson, S Josh Bullocks, DT Dusty Dvoracek, S Danieal Manning, LB Nick Roach, LB Jamar Williams; (unrestricted) LB Darrell McClover, DE Adewale Ogunleye, RB Adrian Peterson, LB Pisa Tinoisamoa.
So who does Jerry re-sign? I think Pisa, Jamar and Roach should all come back to provide linebacker depth moving forward. I have no interest in Mark Anderson or Adewale Ogunleye. Dusty and Bullocks are gone.
As for Danieal Manning and Adrian Peterson? I'm letting them both walk. The Bears must move Hester back to kick returns and have Knox for the insurance policy there. AP's fate must have been sealed by Khalil Bell's late-season performance.

1st!! FTW!
wow jeff. I'm with you on all but D. Manning, the 'best athlete' on the Bears squad. I got to believe that with the right coaching, he can be great somewhere. Corner, FS, nickle?
Keep manning, the rest can walk.
LBs in that exact order btw Pisa, Lamar, Roach... I might even put Williams first man. Guy is a STUD and he hasn't even really been given a chance to play. One game, almost 20 tackles. Uh, yeah... not only keep him, but get his ass on the field a LOT more.
I agree across the board with Jeff (for once). I don't see the need to keep another return guy around who does nothing else well.
Which was my point MBP, when you get the title of best (and one of the top 2 fastest) athlete on an NFL team, there's gotta be something the guy can do given some decent coaching... which we all agree is the rub.
I'm sure the guy can play Nickle or FS, we just need a coach who can take advantage of his skill set and help him get to the right spots. Not sure what his salary is, but I do know that if we jettison him, we'll all be bitching and whining in a year or two when he's the top INT and pick-6 guy in the league
MB, his athletic ability has gotten him nowhere in 4 years with Bears. He doesn't have the instincts, or smarts to play safety in the NFL. Sure the physical ability is there, but there is a mental component that he just doesn't have. During his career the plays that I remember him by are the following: 1) getting torched in SB 41 by Wayne, 2) failing to even try and tackle AP and instead trying to strip the ball for last 10 yards of a run in 2007, 3) this year jumping over Peterson at the goalline rather then hitting him.
He is a classic Smith era bear drafted and protected because of speed and athletic ability with no regard for football ablility.
Manning is a pure physical specimen and would be a great football player....if you didn't have to have football instincts. he has none. he has gotten by on pure athleticism from the high school and college ranks. He is great on kickoffs becuase, like Forrest Gump, he just runs so damn hard. You know as well as i do that he doesn't know where to be on the field or why he should be there. He doesn't have the head of a true free safety, lacks the physicality of a bump and run corner and doesn't have the technique or skills of a corner.
Case in point:
I went to highschool with a kid named Carlos. He was Daniel Manning. Punts dropped off his helmet, he couldn't walk and chew gum at the same time, didn't have the instincts for the game. he ran a 4'4 on a stopwatch and did 53 dips in Freshman gym class. My coach looked at me while we were reviewing game film and asked what his problem was. I simply answered..."He's Forrest Gump."
Guys, I am with you... but I think a big part of his failure has been a total lack of coaching. If you don't have coaches who know how to get you ready to play, or to even understand the system, how do you expect him to do anything at all?
Maybe he's a lost cause, but I'd hate to see him go elsewhere, finally get the coaching he needs and turn into a massive weapon for someone else. I'm a big believer in coaching.
agreed MB, i just can't see it happening in Chicago. You can only coach a guy up so much. Sharper is a loose cannon but he has the instincts to make plays on the fly without some sort of restrictive template to work off of. Manning doesn't have that kind of natural instinct. Mike Brown had it, Mark Carrier had it, Manning lacks it. The reason why he excelled on the corner blitz is because he doesn't have to think about it. he is like an guided missle with one program per play. blitz the corner...done. Take this kick and make 1 or 2 moves and get vertical...done.
Now read the QB, make a decision of who to take on when 2 guys come into your zone on a pass play...oh shit. Reggie Wayne.
Ok, so if that is the case Johnny, at least we know we have a guided missle to work with. Where can we use a guided missle on the field most. Punts and some blitz packages/rover/killback.
Who are they going to replace those guys with is what I wonder? If the FA crop is going to be so thin this season, can we improve those positions? Maybe we should consider keeping some of those guys. Maybe not. While my head says let Manning and Peterson go, I hate when our former players start kicking ass elsewhere. And guys like Dvoracek that can't stay healthy and then suddenly are durable for someone else sucks too. How cheap would Mark Anderson or Adewale Ogunleye be? If we let all those guys go will JA actually bring in better players or will they continue to shat the bed? How did Josh Bullocks ever get even discussed as an option last year? And why is Jason McKie on this team?
And I dare anyone to go watch all of Hester's returns for TD's and then come on here and argue he should not be on FT returns. Go ahead. Try it.
Focker out!
I agree 100% with Hester going back on ST (occasionally coming on and doing an impression of Jesse Owens in the 100M). He basically cried and said he misses ST and wants to go home now. Make him ridiculous again. I miss that Devin.
I say sign them all except McLovin - I don't know anything about McLovin to be honest, so whatever. We're not signing anyone from anywhere else by the sounds of it. Like it or not, Dvoracek (didn't we cut him already?) is about the closest we have to an animal on the line (unless Tommie really is not recovered yet). Here's the thing with Tommie. Maybe he was hurt all year but just didn't make a big deal of it, kept his thoughts between himself and God etc. Maybe he will be better next year, make the pro bowl, and quietly remember those that didn't keep faith, "I told you so!"
Williams is a monster. At 6'0 and 237lbs he's more a tough safety than a big linebacker anyway. And that leads me to random insane 0ff-season-fever idea # 127/319 : all of this free safety talk is distracting. Gump has had something like 41 combinations of different FS/SS matchups out of 96 games. End it. Someone somewhere mentioned putting Urlacher at FS. (Highest paid position to lowest -Ha!) but he's probably too big for that now - and I don't want to see HH in the Mike ever again. How about Jamar Williams as our Free Safety (or Strong) ? He was a monster in his only start, flying all over the place making 19 tackles from an OLB spot, making Hillenmeyer look like he was in a wheelchair. With Pisa starting, we'd have Roach/HH to backup Pisa/Briggs.
Danieal Manning has something to give us I'm sure, although maybe that's just because he scored a safety against GB and ran back some big returns, he's one of the fastest guys on the team though. Better the devil you know. Anyway, if we let Williams walk, tune in for language you have never seen the likes of - I will melt your screens with a torrent of abuse from the seventh layer of hell if they let him walk for seventeen dollars and change.
Wale ? If we let him go we have Anderson and Brown at DE(and Angelo's lost picks of 2009 ...) - so where do the pass rushers come from ? Angelo in the sixth round ? Please.
Can't let AP go for the sake of a few dollars, especially not for his role on ST. We do need a big banger at RB though, so if a space had to be given up to bring one in, I'd airlock Wolfe not AP.
Side prediction : Brittney Payton and Matt Forte will make babies together.
Da Bears Blog Dream Threads : Seeing as we're sharing ... I did dream that we traded Cutler in the death throes of Lovie's reign. Don't remember the details. Chilling. And I don't dream about the Bears .... except just when you close your eyes and you're the MLB bringin' that shit into the backfield, yeah.
Interesting take on Jamar Irish. I think he
What Lovie is doing : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=shlBZZ-IQYY&feature=related
Irish....forgot about that scene and boy does it lay true for LDL...right on the head bud!!!
This is going to be a Free Agency suckfest. Uncapped year with no CBA, so not only are there a ton of people in year 5 or 6 that are now restricted but each team can franchise tag 2 players instead of one, so that is another possible 64 players worth a shit off the market. It almost guarantees there will be no quality Free Agents. And to get an RFA with a matched offer it'll cost you a 1st and a 3rd.
For me:
Definitely Keep: Anderson, Jamar, and Pisa.
Definitely Release: Bullocks, Peterson, McClover
Depending on Cost: Manning for Nickel if he is cheap, Roach for depth if he is real, real cheap (guy looked lost at Mike but decent at SAM)Dusty if he is real cheap as he would allow Izzy to move back out to DE where we need someone and with no day 1 picks or good UFAs, Izzy might be a good hope.
Good analysis and thoughts FTW
Blogfather...100% agree....like MB said about Manning...ueah can we get something for him..at this time my attitude toward this team is "It's not personal..It's just good business"
P.S. McF@!$#@!$SKIE'S......SELL THE TEAM!!!!! and then move to MINNIE-SODA
it is a bit late now to get something for Manning, what are the options..
Let's say the Raiders want him (he is fast) so they offer him 3 million a year for 3 years. Our choices are to match it or get nothing for him; say we match it. Are even the raiders dumb enough to give us a 1st and a 3rd for Manning? No. So we get stuck either paying him what some team will offer or losing him for nothing. We certainly can't franchise him and then offer him as trade bait. We are stuck with his sorry ass or letting him go. If they wanted to trade him they should have done it this season like for Adams instead of a second round pick.
FTW.. That's the sad state of affiar that we are in. We suck in the personal Dept.
Ooo how about this trade -
Garret Wolfe + Nathan Vasher + 3rd round pick
for Cromartie + 2nd round pick
We could trade a sucky corner for a sucky corner, give them both something to prove on their new teams, unload Wolfe to a team that is in desperate need of a back and we get a day one pick.
Bring back Dvorachec and give him one more opportunity to make the squad but the minute he shows up on IR, can his ass.
Trade Jamar Williams or start him. He's got too much talent to sit on the Bench. Keep Mark Anderson, we will need him at some point in the season. Danieal Manning is a versatile player that should stay, he also will be needed. Can Pace, that goes without saying I think.
Jamaal Lewis has been released by the Browns. Might not be a bad idea to give him a shot at making the squad. He may work on short yardage. Only problem is we would have to let Bell or Jones go. On second thought, screw that idea. I really liked what I saw out of Bell last year.
The Browns released Lewis because he is concussion-ridden and planning on retiring.
Was it the handy theory?
No, that was funny AND pc. The stuttering piece was bad.
Don't know when or why I got so fucking PC, but I feel badly for the guy. Must suck to stutter (was funny though).
I heard the Bears brass say money wont stand in the way of improving our team. Pretty hard to believe, Huh? Well they have a chance to prove it, put their money where their mouth is. There will be a few free agents out there who can really help this team next year. They will be expensive, they will have to outbid more than likely. But if they really mean it, they will be aggressive and go out and get these guys, whatever it takes, like they did in getting Cutler. Dont lose out on a big time player over a mil dollars. The Bears have the resources, if they choose to do it. So heres the Burning question,"Will They Do It"?? As a Die hard Bear fan of 45 years,I sure hope so. Forgive me, but I dont feel to confident in Ownership right now!
Maybe this thing could get interesting after all: http://www.fannation.com/truth_and_rumors/view/159630-spending-may-start-flowing-in-free-agency
A friend sent me the following NFL Labor info...
FYI
Thanks Al, that was super helpful. On a similar note, "receiver Malcom Floyd of San Diego"
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
AL... I bow to your master skills in the CBA.. oh and as a Dean Prognosticator..
Lovie. He's simply awesome.
Huh? At What? A Star Gazer Maybe, lol.
PC is mind control. Learn it, Love it, Live It. NOT!
Hey,wasnt that a quote from Bill Gates?
unbelievable. you have soared past just being a tool and have now reached the level of just being irrelevant. you are officially the new troll on this blog.
And you are Who? Some piece of Shiht that thinks he is God of the blogs? I dont usually respond to Hateful Losers,so be happy you got a response,Your mother would be proud. It is so Pathetic how Miserable little people like you just scour the blogs, looking to attack someone. Congratulations,I hope it makes you feel better, lol. But I wont respond again, you had your minute of fame. Sorry to waste the time of the other great Bear fans on here. GO BEARS!!
WHOA! Dude, where the hell did that come from?!?!?! When you came on this blog a couple days ago I thought you were the sugar plum fairy himself. What
Thanks to you and Doc: Because the arrow from his comment followed my response. I thought it was towards me attached to my response by the arrow,I didnt know. I feel like a real Idiot right now and apologize to all. I wrote a comment to Waffle already apologizing. I was just still a bit gun shy from earlier comments towards me when I 1st joined. So I was thinking Not Again!
Hey Johnny "Waffle" chicago: I am sorry about my Bi-Polar incident there. I thought it was towards me because the arrow followed your response after my response,I am a NFG,but no excuse. I really feel humbled right now and am very sorry. I was a bit tense because I took some hits from some people when I first started posting on here. I was gun shy still,I guess. Sorry to everyone who had to read that. GO BEARS!
BIGOT BEAR!!!!!! how's your day sir?
If Wale doesn't get any other offers give him a 1-2 yr deal. Keep Anderson if there isn't a better option. Dusty is gone. As crazy as it sounds Bullocks was our best FS last year (sad isn't it?). Put Manning at nickle and LEAVE HIM THERE! Get rid of McKie. Wolfe was better on ST's last year so keep him over AP (if Wolfe is healthy). I'd be reluctant to get rid of anyone on offense. Turner and his staff were so incompetent I'm not sure they used anyone correctly. Keep Pisa, Roach and Williams. Get rid of Davis. Get rid of Vasher.
Our roster is filled with avg NFL players. If we lost the bottom 30 guys off our 45-man roster and replaced them with another 30 guys with NFL experience, there wouldn't be much difference. Thanks Angelo. Throw in Lovie, Turner, etc. and you get a pretty mediocre product. I'm hoping like hell Martz and Tice make a huge improvement on O. I have no illusions about the D. Same old, same old.
Go Bears!
Canada, are you serious about Bullocks? Common man!
Name someone who played a better FS for the Bears last year. Bullocks is avg at best but at the end of the year he played the last few games and didn't look as bad as Afalava, Payne or Manning in that role. Don't get me wrong, a true FS with talent is our most pressing need. Bulllocks being the best of the lot pretty much proves that.
Go Bears!
Canada, I don't even know which games he played at which spot any more. I know he got smoked for a huge play... it was the 80 yrd TD run the first play of the game I think (was it the packer game)? He just stood there looking stupid.
Alfalfa was much better at the position when he was given the shot, and he was a rook. This coming year he'll be much better at the spot after some reflection and growth time and a whole off season of training and coaching. The guy reminds me of a smaller faster version of Pisa. I think with some time and more on-field experience, he
The play you're referring to Bullocks was the 3rd safety and the play was on the other side of the field (at least that's what I read in the paper the next day). We basically agree that we bite it big time at FS and it's a major need.
Go Bears!
Great post Canada. I like just about everything you suggested. We Have to keep Pisa,Jamar,Roach & Anderson. Injuries showed how valuable these guys were last year. I would like to see Rashied,Vasher,Peterson, dvoracek & Bullocks shown the door. Manning did do a pretty good job at nickle, maybe if they LEAVE him there he will improve even more. They have moved the kid around too much and he hasnt been able to cement himself to one role to excell in. So I still dont know about him yet,his athletic ability & special teams makes it worth it I suppose. Mcclover was brought back last season cause of his ability on special teams. If he can make a difference and come cheap, why not? I am looking forward to seeing more from Bell,he impressed me coming in at limited times. I want to see more of him for sure,we may have something there. I would make a play for Peppers or Kampman, before I would consider re-signing Ogunleye. We have to do something at free safety as well. I liked the idea of Tillman moving there,it is a good time in his career & can extend it. He is a true ball hawker. Then we will be in need of a C.B. The Bears have to be aggressive, right at the start of free agency. Why dont I feel very good after saying that,it feels more like a wish, lol.
No way they sign Peppers. Kampmann, maybe. Tillman at FS makes no sense. The guy has had surgery on both shoulders. You know he'd be on IR within a month. Not to mention he's our best CB.
Off point but says it all about the Bears. Reading the article about the Bears raising ticket prices, one of the last pieces of info was "last year they made it easier to buy season tickets by letting people pay with a credit card." UN-FUCKING-REAL! Up until last year the McCheapsky's were so cheap you couldn't pay with a credit card. If that doesn't show their disdain for the fans, nothing does.
Go Bears!
Whats the difference. They would have just passed to cost onto the fans if they had been taking credit cards all along. Just like higher taxes to corporations. The corporation simply passes on the higher costs to the consumer.
Not only are they cheap, they're lazy. It would require someone in the organization to set up the credit card system. Too lazy and couldn't care less how much it inconvenienced their customers. Can you think of even one other company that doesn't accept credit cards for payment over the net or snail mail? I can't.
Go Bears!
I'll buy that. More like tone deaf to the fans needs.
Canada..Trac.. come'on you don't understand the McFU@!$#@$SKY corporate economic model..
The "Bendover and Shovel" economics..it's replacing the "Trickle Down Effect"
OK.OK... here's the def.
We the fans "Bendover".. and the MCFU!#@!$SKY'S "Shovel the money into wheelbarrels and dump the $$$ into their accounts..
"BENDOVER AND SHOVEL ECONOMICS" 101
SIMPLE!!!!
Gotta agree!
Go Bears!
Who's going to be the first disgruntled fan to fly a Piper Cub into the second story of Halas Hall?? My money's on Jeseryflyer.
SPAWN... you sick Ba#@!$#ard.....LOL
and by the way I woudln't spend money on a Piper Cub..well maybe if it were a RC Piper filled with C4...LOL even louder!
Lovie will not let Manning go. Mannning must have caught Lovie giving Babbich a handy sometime in 2006 and has been holding it over his head ever since, cause lovie verbally felates him every week. He will remain a bear this year. Pretty sure they already said they will be resigning pisa for another one year deal.
Peterson, let his suttering ass g g g go.
Adawale, you were over rated when you got here, and that never changed. Go back to Zamunda sweet prince.
Probably have to re-sign Anderson's punk ass on account of twiggys demise. Bullocks is the turd we pegged him to be when we signed him last year, he gone.
Keep Roach clip and Williams cause we need them.
Bearsss!
Coach, THAT shit was fucked up. Once again, if it wasn't so fucked up I'd be laughing my ass off.
I think Pisa, Jamar, and Roach will indeed be back. I would like to see Williams get more playing time. Everybody keeps writing his performance against the Rams off because it was the Rams, but Jamar Williams made TWENTY tackles in a single NFL game. That's damn good, guys.
I'm not done with Mark Anderson. I think the Bears will re-sign him to a small, short contract. The Post-Dispatch a couple of weeks ago stated that the Rams have shown interest in Anderson, though. If he asks for too much then street him, but I think he could continue to excell under Marinelli (assuming Marinelli might get to work with the Defensive line...).
Brad Biggs believes that Josh Testicles will be back, and he might because the Bears need depth at Safety, especially if they get rid of Danieal Manning and Bullocks didn't really do anything negative in Chicago...at least nothing worse than Manning, Payne, and Afalava.
I agree with Jeff, bye bye AP, Dusty, and Wale.
Excuse the typo. I meant to say everyone keeps writing off* Williams.
Here's my keepers for WR
DA #1
Bennett #2
Knox #3
inglesias
Hester WR/KR
Davis/ gone
Clark #1 TE
Davis BA/TE
Olsen / Pimp him out
Forte #1 RB

Trac...good sight!!
Oh, and keep Wale depending on cost too, I assume he will test the waters and come back on the cheap but who knows.
I know what you mean. For about two or three years, I was hoping that Dusty was going to become the new "Mongo", destroying chalkboards in the locker room and such.
A shame be kept getting broken. The one season he played most of, he was really pretty good.
*h*e, not *b*e
Just had a brainstorm, thinking outside the box. Given the fact we all probably agree that free agency this year will not be an avenue that will help the Bears very much this year and that we all can agree that our O-line has major issue's, here's a scenario that I think is at the very least entertaining.
Lets trade Jay Cutler to the Cleveland Browns for Brady Quinn, a 1st and 3rd rounder this year and a 1st rounder next year.
We could pick up Russell Okung OT/Florida who is projected to go to Cleveland with the 7th pick in the 1st round. Then we could Draft John Asamoah OG/Illinois with Clevelands 3rd rd pick at the #72 spot. With Brady Quinn at the helm next year, the Bears will be so bad that we will probably have the 1st or 2nd pick in the draft next year plus the 1st round pick we get from Cleveland which means we can probably draft a QB like Ryan Mallet whose arm strength makes Cutty's look like Bob Avellini's. Why the heck not guys, no way we're going to the playoffs next year so what's the diff. Yeah, thats the ticket.
Very ballsy Trac... especially with this group. I salute your vigor and your willingness to be creative. Well done.
...Ok, now the responses should be entertaining.
I may need a chicken wire cage before its all over. (o:.
There is a part of me that would like to go that route.

I've got a funnier one lobo. Try reading my scenario above again but this time change out chicago with denver and then switch cleveland with chicago. And by the way, I wonder if there will be any decent players available around the oh, let me see.... 10th pick this year.
NICE TRAC!!!! lol
Someone go to Trac's house right now to see if he is ok. he is obviously wacked out of his mind right now and could possibly be a danger to himself and others. Trade the first possible franchise QB since forever? LUNCACY!! I can't believe it's only February. Only in February would this happen.
waffle... Really think about it... this management has Wallstreet.. written all over it..

Trac..MB... here is the ultimate ideal question to all who post..
If 2010 is uncapped and 2011 is a close out year and the world ends in December 22 2012 can we make the playoffs and who might be our coach???
LDL or maybe LDL's(MM)

Crap..I couldn't decide which one I wanted....or best described the insanity that runs in HH.I just thought in a sick way what if JA produces a MMLOVIE and JA takes TP's job, LDL moves to GM and the have a love child the new Coach named MMLDL and instead of staring at a Jumbotron MMLDL looks up to a Mintron maybe on a table on the sidelines.
This is for Lovie and JA and TP: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TROhlThs9qY

Lobo, did you see where he was trying to run and hide behind the rock? I'm still laughing.
YUCK! NOT a Beatles fan, at ALL. Not sure why... I get what they did for modern music and all that, I just fucking hate their music. Dylan, Zep, Motown, all old skpol jazz, Queen, etc... I love all that shit... Beatles... pass.

Could you imagine if that guy was our coach. Harris would have 10 sacks a game and Cutty would never throw an incompletion let alone a pick. Is this guy available, can we hire him?
Referring to the Drill instructor video MB posted. Reminds me of when I was in the Corps.
Trac..I think we had a coaching staff like this once started in 82' and ended in 92'...then the attitude went LIMP.
He's a real dude and was a real GS Trac. He did a couple shows on discovery or History. One where he played with all sorts of weapons. Good stuff.
I love the part where he tells the recruit to choke himself. I was picturing Lovie in his place.
ahh Full Metal Jacket. Completely bad ass.
lol. I won't do it again unless its called for.

Sorry, that post was difficult to read, didn
Makes sense to me! I agree with everything you posted. I always have on the rose colored glasses so I think Martz and Tice will make a real difference. Cutler is smart and knows Martz is no dummy. Because of that, I think he will respect him and trust him. Turner was 0-2 in that regard. I don't know anything about the new QB coach but I'm guessing Martz will be the main QB coach and the other guy will be a buffer/mechanics guy. Tice will be a quantum leap forward over Harry Houdini. Same thing with the respect. Not to mention Tice will demand it.
Go Bears!
Wow. A lot of typos there.

why does it seem like everyone on our defense is undersize? if you look at team like the Ravens, there guys are fucking built. I would like to see some of our guys build up a lil bit. Motherfucker Fire Lovie!
Its because of Lovies "Cover Who" Defense. He requires smaller athletic players,to play his scheme of gap control. This could change after this season,if they drop the ball again & fail to at least make the playoffs if not more! I think they have Cowhers Number on speed-dial,lol.
No-Way,we should trade Cutler! Remember it has only been 1 season, and he played under Turner. There is so much talent there with Cutler. I am excited to see a coach like Martz get to help & teach Cutler and make him the best he can be. Mike Tice should make a big difference on the line as well, that was improving late in the year. I really want to see what Martz can do with Cutler this year. In all my years,I cant imagine finally having a Q.B with so much potential, not since good old Sid Luckman, when he won 4 championships for us. I have waited so long, 45 years as a fan, Yikes! I am 53 already, lol! Remember Cutler has had 3 coordinators in 4 years already. He needs to get settled with one and keep some continuity going. Turner was terrible in my opinion and I think Martz will end up being good for Cutler, although I definitely see them bickering at eachother as well, lol.
#1BF...maybe the kind of bickering The Punky QB and Da Coach use to have.
The Minne-Soda Miracle..
Da Coach" What the hell play did you call?"
Punky " Screen"
Da Coach "Why did you throw it to Willie?"
Punky " Because he was open"
Punky " Quit Bitch'n Mike we just scored"
CLASSIC!!!!
note to JC ...you have the capacity to be amazing.. PLEASE DO NOT! LET LIMP DICK LOVIE and the dipshit Bears Managment get to your talent. Find your way we all know you can!!! If you have to hire your own QB Guru!!! DAMN IT..DO IT!!!It will pay divendends in the end...ask the SAINTS!
I hear ya,I see it coming as well..Cutler has the tools,he just needs a coach to bring it together!! Then watch out, Cutler has the ability to Dominate!! I just think he has needed a coach like Martz all along! Instead of the last 3 Coordinators Cutler has had over his first 4 years!!
AAAHH, I so agree, let it happen. I think Martz will help out Cutler alot!! Personally, I am Excited!! Our team will Surprise & Dominate!! GO BEARS!!
Did you just agree with yourself? Bipolar Bear? Just kidding. I don't want the keyboard beat down the last guy got. I like how your scrapping on here brother. And in case you didn't see the follow up response, the last guy wasn't saying that to you, he was saying it to #1RacistBearsFan.
Bi-Polar Bear? I love it,that was very funny. I thought his comment was connected to me by the arrow that followed my response. I feel like an idiot and am very sorry. I am a FNG so I didnt know the other poster he was referring to.
Johnny "Waffle chicago; If you are out there, sorry about my Bi-Polar response to you. I thought since your response followed mine with the arrow,it meant it was meant towards me. I feel Like a Idiot, guess I am gunshy from comments towards me when I 1st started posting here. Thanks to the other Bear fans here, who made me aware of it. GO BEARS!
Way to man up Fan. No hard feelings on my end. One thing I noticed about Jersey was he didn't even attempt an apology. Even if he didn't mean anything by his remarks(highly doubtful) the way he followed up tells me alot.
Thanks Man, You are good people(Bear fans) like most of you on here. Thats why I liked the site & wanted to converse with some other great Bear fans on here. So Bear the Fu%$ck Down!!
#1 BF....yes. Kampman
Trac..yes. Pitts

"Joel, a cougar is not a retirement plan."
MB..It's is if she's a Sugar Mama..lol
trac..would love to have
Stephen Neal, New England Patriot 1yr contract
Do you think the Pats will match offers to keep him?
sad to say...yes
Gotta give it to Bellacheat, runs a pretty tight organization in spite of so many staff members being promoted to other organizations. If this guy is good they will hold onto him.
If we could have two BEAST's for gaurds..ooohhh...JC & Double Duece could rev that engine and really have some fun this season.
Hey look what I found.....A Bears Management Video with from Ginni and all the minions

Hey Jeff, why don't we play a game. You pretend you're Larry Mayer, pick three self serving questions from us your great blogger's and take the opportunity to shamelessly plug your blog without answering our questions?
My question is this: Do you get really pissed off when we take the liberty to post stupid videos like the ones posted yesterday and today?
Referring only to the videos I posted of course.
trac...levity is the closes we get sanity with this Bears Management.
I think it just goes to show how we are all trying to stay calm with the reference's and video's. Before one of us takes a Piper to Halas Hall for the stupidity that runs there.
I really enjoy this site lobo. I seem to find myself checking it out more and more every day. Just want to say thanks to all you guys for making it fun.
right back at you brother!
AMEN: DA' BEARS WILL BE BACK! SOONER THAN LATER,HEY! THIS YEAR WOULD BE JUST FINE!! GOTTA KEEP THE FAITH,RIGHT??
O.K I am curious if any of you have predictions on what the Bears will do in free agency, or possibly trading someone for picks! We are all dreamers, but what will we actually do? I have a strong feeling Greg Olsen will be involved in a trade for a 2nd rd pick somehow(maybe with another player involved). I think the only big name move we make, will be going after Aaron Kampman. He would be an upgrade at D.E for us. I think we will target the O-line with our 3rd rd pick(our 1st pick). Free safety could come from free agency, but unless there are some surprise cuts,I dont see much hope out there. The Saints said they will Franchise Sharper. I thought we should have got him last year. Then Re-sign Williams,Manning,Roach & Anderson. Let Bullocks, Rashied, Ogunleye, Dvoracek & Peterson go already. I want to get a closer look at Kahlil Bell,he really impressed me with what carries he got, I think he averaged 5 yards a carry.
just get us some fucking killers, guys who wanna go out and lay someone on there ass. get us some real fucking linemen
Who, where, us? Do you really think JA and LS still have the keys to Ginny's lockbox? Sounds like they've all ready been warned about askin for more pocket money. Hence the "we're pretty well set" comment. Come on guys, that's code for "the wells run dry".
Fresno...Even though I agree 100% on the smashmouth linemen.. I am said to say.. I do not think our managment has the conjones to get them.. especially when Captian AssMunch says "We are pretty well Set"
Great Quote:
"Never use a big word when a little filthy one will do."
This is for you Bears Management
-------YOU FU!@$#!@$#!@$ERS-------
p.s. quote is by the Late Great Johnny Carson
Restricted free agency does suck. There are so many good players who could have been available. There will be some unrestricted free agents for the teams that choose to be aggressive and probably over pay,for their services. The Bears Have to make at least 1 big signing,if not 2,when free agency begins. My dream pick(you could call it),would be Peppers,or at least Kampman. The Cutler deal shocked me, could they do it again? Their history says no. It is a top position we Need to fill,so why not go for the best? It seems like a no-brainer, to us fans anyway. A player like Peppers or Kampman instantly improves our pass rush, which is 1st & foremost in this defense,to get pressure with the front four. Then we dont have to blitz as much and our secondary improves. We also have to fix our free safety position & offensive line. They have the means & resources to do it,question is will they do it??
I gotta be honest guys, Peppers would be the wrong guy for us. It tells me alot that Carolina isn't willing to pay the price to resign him. Not saying the guy isn't great when he wants to be but I think this team should spend the money on players like Kampman, even Woodson if he's available.
I am totally on board with Kampman, and I think thats what the Bears will ultimately do,with how they allocate their funds? I cant see them going so far for Peppers, with uncertainty & age. Alex Brown was actually lobbying for Kampman. The Bears at least have to get Kampman, at least 1 big deal. We have to improve our pass rush in this defense Lovie covets so much??
I was reading up on Chester Pitts/G Houston Texans. He is an UFA and has been arguably their best offensive lineman. Unfortunately he got hurt last year and even though his health should not be a concern next year, the Texans are "waffling on retaining him". He might be a decent player to go after. There are obtainable players out there that will improve our team if we look hard enough.
MB, try this one on for size. Hilarious.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NyeFj_qr-J0
Trac, what in thee fuck is that creepy shit man? Fuck me I got through about 4 seconds of that scary shit. Just stop, pleeeease stop.
Coach, help me out here. Did you watch those two fucking clips? Holy Jebus's knee. Trac, I'm beggin you not to ever post that shit again, you're giving me fucking nightmares man.
laughing my ass off. Sorry Dude it was my B-day yesterday. I was searching for a video on response to one of yours or Lobo's when I came across them. Won't happen again without a disclaimer.
Happy bday man. I feel badly that you had to watch those on your birthday. Self torture is never ok Trac.
I've got a sick sense of humor. Could help but laugh my ass off at thought of you guys being caught off gaurd watching those. Still makes me laugh. I hope you did get some sleep through it all. Lol.
Happy Birthday Trac!
Pisa is already resigned.
Max, thanks for leading us back to the thread line. I like your comments. I hope the front office throws us at least one bone through free agency, as I don't think it's realistic to expect more than that. If I could take my pick it would be an o-line player. The question is who? You all know I like Jahri Evans/RG Saints. Don't know if we would be able to pull that one off though. If we heal our offensive woes I really think it would solve alot of defensive issues through time of possession alone.
Trac, gptta let Jahri go man, he's an RFA (btw, he was also my pick for an, 'if we could pick one OL guy'). We don't have a shot in hell at him, and I doubt any other team does either.
i love the idea of getting Evans. I also want Kampman and another packer i (surprisingly) haven't heard mentioned yet, Nick Collins. there's no cap, we're worth over a billion dollars, jerry has to at least try.
oh never mind. damn you restricted free agency
Yep. Going to be tuff this year Bronc. Besides the fact that Angelo doesn't know a good FA from his emergency chute.
I think he'll pick a couple guys up, but they won't be the tier 1 guys. They'll be the Omi types, dudes who were working for FedEx before he called. We will have to wait for a new regime before we see any crazy, complex, strategic changes (no, the culter trade wasn't brilliant, just ballsy).
I guess John Tait, Rueben Brown, Roberto Garza, Fred Miller, Mushin Muhammed, Des Clark, Thomas Jones, and Pisa T all blow.
Over exaggerating diminishes your otherwise stellar cred. And please don't respond with all the bad ones - I remember suffering through Adam Archeleta games.
NAG...not sure if we are actually going to spend money..keep in mind it's the McCheapsky's... and yes 2011 will be a hold out year so these S.O.B.'s want to keep their money tight(2010) before we have no season in 2011 so the can burn their money instead of wood in thier fireplaces.
Lobo, I wouldn't write the ending to the book on that one yet. Certain jobs are on the line, lets hope LS & JA can get down on their knee's and beg ownership for some leeway. If ownership has already decided to cut and run when their contracts run out we are in deep kimchi.
Since we've lapsed into this, how can you not list this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bg8lSyGavc4
MB.....It's in the HOLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ed Zachary Lobo.
and before I call it a night... some out takes from one of my favorite commercials: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U8Ev5HgGACg
MB...yeah I tried to get into those commercials.. not there yet.
Dude, Lobo... how can you not man?!?
"So her online profile says she's 5'11', and I'm like... Pounds maybe."
BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHhahahahaha...
Not into the new guy (baby) as much, was bumbed they switched it out, but I guess they had. The old baby (in this video) probably shaves already.
I know this isn't football... but this shit is killing me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HqVBKO_QM3o
Don't get me started MB.
Ok, there's a biiii difference between some lip synching, cross dressing, terrible singing freak, and a baby with a dude's voice....
...uuuuhhhh, I think.
Point well taken
MB.. Trac... you sick S.O.B.'s... and I am sure glad to blog with you!! lol
O.K..... MB THAT SHIT WAS FUNNY!!!LOL!!!!
I think JA had that shocked face when we really got JC from Denver!!!!
totally Lobo
It seems you are capable of greatness MB. Glad I helped you give birth to it this time. lol
This bind squirrel can only hope to luckily stumble upon a stray nut now and again Trac.
Good God, Trac...
There have been some wildly outlandish statements made by fans and opponent's fans on Da Bears Blog, but that one takes the cake.
I'm not singling out Trac, here. I actually like Trac, sometimes. But there is a growing trend among football fans that I find disturbing in my old age and that is the lack of any patience whatsoever! Trac states that we traded two 1st Rounders and Kyle Orton and all we have to show for it is a 7-9 season. Though he is correct, he like many modern fans don't seem to have any foresight past their noses. And again, it's not just Trac, it's the people on this blog who were screaming that Cutler should be benched in the second quarter of WEEK ONE! It's the fans who have called for Caleb Hanie to step up and take the reins. No guy, no.
Let's exercise a little patience. Football isn't a one-quarter, one-have, one-game, or one-season sport. We need to give Jay Baby (thank you Doc) time... What does Denzel Washington say in Remember the Titans? "It's just like novocaine. Give it time it always works."
Rest easy Ghost. This was a test, I repeat this was only a test. Can't knock Cutty based on last years results. Just havin some laughs while we wait.......and wait.......and wait. Really, my point is this, we leveraged 3 years on the decision to bring Cutty on board which will lead to either the "lost decade" or the promised land. I don't think I have to tell you which one I want.
Ok we can remember the past but it's time for this Org. to start implementing today's winning principles into thier game plan. Even if Martz fails, it's time to change our philosphy and I believe we will get where to need to be, even if takes a little longer than we want. Let's just hope that the team steps up next year and gives us something to cheer about.
Amen to that, Tractor. GO BEARS!!
I am sure there is one thing us fellow Bear Fans can Agree on. That is to kick assz and take names, this year!!! I hope we are aggressive in free agency, and get the missing pieces to the puzzle. A couple big moves in free agency, could really help this Bears team. We need D.E & Free Safety help, Big-Time. We need to stay healthy on defense, thats the bottom line. We need to add a Julius Peppers or at least Aaron Kampman, who wants to play in a 4-3 again.. If we can find either free safety help or cornerback,we should look at it. Because late in Tillmans career,it makes sense to put his size & ball hawking skills at f-safety. Then we will need to replace Tillman at C.B. Which brings on a new problem,in its self.
I hear you brother. There's alotta hoping going on here.
With all due respect sir, but my pecker has the potential to please my wife all night long but it doesn't. So far we have a 7-9 record from the trade. I wonder what our "franchise quarterbacks" record will be this next year? if its not better than 7-9 then your franchise quarterback doesn't mean jack. I'm sorry but I'm waking up from my slumber. This draft coming up has bitch slapped me to my senses. I now see whats in the "other hand". Don't you get it? They dangled Cutler in front of our faces with one hand and in the other hand all they had was a pile of crap. The PR sham of the Century. Talk to me when we go 6-10(or worse) next year.
nice conspiracy....and I do beleive it..Do these guys work for AIG also?
Yeah Doc, I saw it too. I think he doesn't realize that Waffle's response was to Jersey and not him. Fan is a little sensitive from last time. I give him a pass but he probably owes Waffle an apology. I really think the best way to handle trolls is to just ignore them.
Doc..your welcome..I can watch it over and over and everytime it's still makes my giggle like a school girl. and the scary part as I get older it becomes even funnier..whats up with that? LOL!!!
1. He is in possible extension w/Cardinals... Can JA and the Bears come up with $$$ to bring him here.
2. Sounds like he wants Miami another warm place.
3. Last but not least he has some spark in Chicago

Interesting info and viewpoints about this year's FA market (I don't like Don Banks - he lives in Minny, but...): http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/writers/don_banks/02/18/offseason/index.html
MB, the whole article boils down to 10-15 quality free agents finding new homes this year. Then you have to factor in that only a handful will actually be players that we would have an interest in, then you have to factor the other teams that have needs. Hmmm.....Sounds like we may only get a shot at 1 player if we're lucky. Like I said earlier, we gotta make do with what we have. I guess JA was right, "We're pretty well set".
Yep, if we're lucky.
Here are some other football-related items:

Joe, where did you see that?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z5V8gkrJBs8&NR=1
I don't know a thing about this dude, but from the highlight tape looks like he's had some serious pick-6s. Why in Jebus' name are they releasing him?
Precisely, MB. If he's that good, why is the 23rd best pass defense in the NFL shipping him ? We need the incoming FS to be a stud or what's the point ? Enough question marks at the position already on the roster.
Looks good, you got the GM job Do.
What a weekend. Had this crazy dream. We traded Cutler for Brady Quinn and a couple of first round picks. Angelo drafted a crack head and a sex worker (it was a long term dream okay). Man, I knew those mushrooms would catch up on me one day. Some crazy insane shit. Anyway, time to catch up on this blog ......
Huh ? Brady Qu ...
Irish, you're not ever gonna let off the hook are you?
I went into remission when someone on WCG suggested trading Forte for Cromartie. I despair. But it is the off-season Trac, and you didn't mention Tebow ....
I digress from time to time but strickly for entertainment value only.
Uhhnnnnnnnnnngh ..... {crash} !
But seriously, check out The Blind Side, Michael Oher is my new favorite NFL player.
would at least like to see a couple games Doc. Should be interesting regardless of how good they are.
JP has only been playing pro ball for 5 years - was the starting TB at the U in 04. Maybe he should come home... we should give him a shaat man.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jarrett_Payton
Does anyone know why the Titans let him go?
The one thing that stands out for me is.. while in college is they played him in multiple positions. Sounds like they go by the School of Lovie..try to get as much out of the talent..not knowing how to understand talent
"Jack of all Trades Master of NONE"!
I just had a thought that honestly hadn't even made it into my consciousness before right now. We've all been so focused on who we want to get in FA and the draft, and we've been talking about which of OUR FAs we think (know) we need to keep... but not once (until now) did I think.... "Oh shit, what if JA and lovie do what they've done for the last three years and let the wrong (right) guys go causing more holes in this team!?! Ooooooooh, shit!"
I honestly have zero confidence in the decision making competency of this management. What if they let Jamar, Anderson, Roach, and Manning bail? Do we have ANY confidence whatsoever that these idiots can even pull off the very mundane and obvious task of keeping some of our best A-/B+ players? I don't.
That just hit me like a ton of bricks. Jebus, I they don't leave this team in complete and total shambles on their way out.
MB...BLASPHEMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! donot talk that way OUCH!!!
