I think we should start a list; I'll take the first crack at it..
1) Jay decides that no shit is worth sitting behind Caleb Hanie and donkey punches Ron Turner. After serving his suspension, he's traded to MN where he takes over for Brett Favre and proceeds to kick our asses for the next ten years.
2) Our receivers stage a mass walkout, figuring that it would be better to play for the Las Vegas Hermaphrodites (or whatever that USFL team is named) than to run gassers for the rest of the season. (For the unathletically inclined, that's where you run from line to line, back and forth for conditioning. No one catches a ball! Get it?)
3) Jay just starts drinking kool-aid all game, and decides to run through a brick wall rather than pick belly lint on the bench. Jay succeeds in breaking the brick wall along with most of the bones in his body. Caleb, meanwhile, is busy going 2 for 18 against the Detroit Lions phenomenal secondary.

Basically, I don't "unblame" the d for this game because they spotted the Eagles 10 pts in the first quarter. Until Lovie figured out what the f- was going on, they were marching all over our happy asses, so while I appreciate the effort from quarters 2 to 4 (except Happy Hunter Hillenmeyer getting blocked by Casper on a TD run), they are just as culpable. They gave up 24 pts even with the 3 turnovers. That's ridiculous. Peanut is the only guy that deserves a pass on this game.

And by Casper, I mean the ghost that must've been blocking him...because I couldn't see a f-cking thing that prevented him tackling McCoy.

Cutler left 15 fucking points on the field because of overthrown passes. And the last int everybody could see him concentrating on Olsen. Let the bitch sit for awhile. We're done for this year might as well start Caleb and give him some playing time.

Do me a favor and go back to the screen in the third quarter to Forte where we're at 3 and 13...watch Olin and Beekman run right past two Eagle defenders in an effort to block AIR while Forte gets stuck two yards shy of a first down.
It's a thing of beauty. I thought that as an OL, your primary function on the field was to block for people who carry the ball.
I used to get pissed when we lost games like this; now, I just go rewatch a few highlights in slow-mo and then laugh at our coaching staff.
